Due October 2010 - anyone else??

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

Hi all
Just added myself to the list, im due 4th oct according to the midwife (my working out says 30th sept, as does my doctor, but hey, baby will come out when he wants either way )
Im off work with a virus, on top of morning sickness and feeling like poo
PS, also craving orange juice, plus CHEESE, milk and creme eggs (my FH thinks the creme eggs are just too convenient though, lol)

Thank you so much for all your concern and kind words.

I am so sorry for you Thepfj I hope you have been well looked after and are now at home recuperating, am keeping my fingers crossed you are ok. I have a thread running in miscarriage if you want to chat I really would like to catch up with you at some point. (hugs to you)

It is still not looking good for me I'm afraid, though with Doctors reluctant to tell me much I am still in limbo.

Had more blood tests done this morning (after making the trek to the Hospital yet again)I got a call just now to say my HCG levels had dropped slightly from 550 odd to 520 odd (the levels are meant to double every 48 hours). I have to go back again in 2 days to have them done again and then they will decide what to do.

The Doctor said it doesn't mean anything, even though I know it does.

They seem determined to not tell me very much and had I not looked in to things myself, by now I would be feeling much more positive than I should be from what they are saying. I am upset with all the waiting and putting off the inevitable. I am still bleeding (like a light period) so it seems obvious to me, even if it doesn't to them. so i will bow out now and say goodbye.

I am glad you are all doing so well and I am sorry to the newbies as this is not the sort of post you want to read, but I didn't want to not update, especially as you have all been so lovely.

Anyway, I hope you all have happy and uneventful pregnancies (full of mini eggs and creme eggs!) and I will look out for the birth announcements in October.

I am so sorry QuestionsAnswered and PFJ, my thoughts are with you both. I know how hard it can be, take care.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 05/03/2010 17:02

So sorry QA and PFJ. So sad. Mcs horrendous. Good luck with ttc again. Will be looking out for you.

shieldbug · 05/03/2010 17:12

Sorry to hear the news questions. Hope there's better things ahead for you. All the best.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 05/03/2010 17:59

QA I'm really sorry to hear your news we are here if you want to chat. I know what you mean re the doctors - sometimes it is easier to step away from the medicine and just focus on you, your dp and your experience. What will be will be, unfortunately there is little they can do either way. Thats meant to be reassuring iykwim , ultimately we know our bodies better than they do, instinct wise.

((hugs))

Meanbeansmum · 05/03/2010 18:19

QA, I am so very sorry. Thinking of you.xxx

Nymphadora · 05/03/2010 18:29

I'm very sorry to see QA and thePFJ go and hope to see you both back in A-N threads soon. ((((hugs to all of you))))

Vikks · 05/03/2010 19:24

QA & PFJ I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you must be going through, I hope you have lots of support around you. Good luck for the future.

I had my booking-in today but it doesn't seem right discussing it now. I'll post another day.

QuestionsAnswered · 05/03/2010 19:40

Thanks everyone. I am lurkind to see if ThePFJ comes back on (and to read your lovely messages of course)

Vikks, please do talk about it, you all need to be able to carry on as normal. Having a baby is a wonderful thing and as sad as it is for those of us that miscarry, that does not, and should not take away from your experience.

tiredfeet · 05/03/2010 19:45

questions I'm so sorry this is being so dragged out for you, and sorry the doctors aren't being particularly helpful. I hope you are getting lots of support on the other thread too, and I really wish you all the best for the future. lots of hugs and chocolate for you and also for pfj, take care

Vikks · 05/03/2010 19:54

QA The midwife spilt my pee all over the table, her notes and her briefcase!!!!

Nymphadora · 05/03/2010 20:07

I never had to take pee to my appt . I went with a full bladder and everything. Cutbacks round here are crap!

AbFabT · 05/03/2010 21:06

Hello Gorgeous Ladies

I haven't posted in a while, been feeling pretty rough for a few days, though today I felt good. Work sucks at the moment, and I can't wait to tell them to shove their job and pay me lots of nice maternity leave!

Really sorry to hear the news from PFJ and QA. I trust you will be back in good time. Best wishes to you both.

Have only told my mum so far - was planning on telling my brothers tomorrow at a pre-arranged immediate-family meal, but one brother has just had his heart broken (), and not up for meeting (fair enough), and the other has buggered off on a last-minute holiday. Do they not know I have important news to tell them!!! (No, I don't suppose they do!). Telling DH's parents next weekend when we visit - know they are going to be soooooo excited.

Got my first m/w appointment on Wednesday! Can't wait!

Not craving a single thing. Nothing. And I am right off chocolate. Is that weird?!

Hermya321 · 05/03/2010 22:55

Vikks ROFLOL!! Thats so funny!!

QA I'm so sorry, I'll be thinking of you.

Nymph Do you get a nuchal fold scan, I found out today that I don't. I was a bit shocked to be honest. By what my midwife said the blood tests can be a bit hit and miss. 60 - 80% accuracy. I don't like the sound of those odds, it makes me wonder how many people have had amios based on that blood test when really they didn't need to. How silly!

So had my booking in appointment today, wasn't that impressed to be honest. But at least they did my blood pressure. They just seem to assume I'm pregnant, I could be a hysterical nut job and pretending to be up the duff (I'm not) but you would think they would at least confirm it. I did do six tests in the end myself, so I think it's pretty sure thing. But it's the principle of the thing you know. The medical profession where I am are way too trusting.

nattiecake · 05/03/2010 23:30

and mine! and they seem to be so uninterested

why become a midwife if you dont care that ladies are pregnant?!?

x

Vikks · 06/03/2010 08:56

Nattiecake & Hermya Sorry to hear your apponintments were so underwhelming. I walked out of mine feeling really positive, appart from the pee incident! I just laughed my head off!
They took blood, pee, blood pressure, height, weight, etc. and loads of form filling was done. My dating scan appointment should be here soon!
Re. nuchal fold scan, we were asked if we wanted it but we decided not to.

AbFabT Re. "I can't wait to tell them to shove their job and pay me lots of nice maternity leave!" So funny!!!
Hope you're a bit better today.

Nymphadora · 06/03/2010 09:17

hermya no nuchal fold scan. I am getting narky about how much we don't get here compared to others. Am not bothered about a nuchal fold but it's the principal!and I want my prescription form!

I'm also wondering if I'm supposed to tell anyone medical about my holiday to validate my insurance? I'm not seeing anyone until after I come back but could see gp if needed! It's long haul & America so travel insurance is a must! They said pg isn't a prob as long as it's early enough & not agaignst medical advice. I have my sexy flightsocks ready!

nattiecake · 06/03/2010 10:41

they do the nuchal fold here at the same time as the dating scan i do believe (newport, south wales). and i had my prescription form about a month ago, although we get free prescriptions here anyway (gonna get my teeth done all nice though, hehe)

i'v been to the doctors twice (once to confirm and once cause im ill) and seen the midwife twice, is it weird that they haven't weighed me? i'v had pee and blood pressure done, and they do my bloods in about a months time, but i thought they'd need a starting weight (i've actually lost weight)? do they just think i look of average weight? cause im not, im heavier than i look!!

btw, been off work since weds and so annoyed that i cant sleep past 7.30 cause i feel so ill!!

lol, sorry to rant!!

Nymphadora · 06/03/2010 12:58

How many weeks are you nattie?

I'm getting obsessed with comparing! I want a scan or appointment or something so I know we are still ok and I can tell people [obsessed]

AbFabT · 06/03/2010 13:03

Hee hee, thanks, Vikks.

Hope my m/w appointment is as positive as yours. Though I won't be hoping for the spilled wee thing!

ooosabeauta · 06/03/2010 13:35

Is it just me or do you find that you can eat things in a tenth of the time it used to take? I just ate a whole raspberry doughnut in under a minute

Just out of interest, when are most people telling people? I thought it was 12 weeks, my mum said 13 (I told her last week) and my midwife said 16 is a good idea because it hasn't worked so well for two pregs. in the last year. Only catch here is that I'm getting huge (maybe doughnuts to blame?) and the leader at Tumbletots has been making quiet remarks about my 'bump' for two weeks now . I've just been changing the subject v. quickly!

I told everyone really early with ds1 because my menstrual dates are way out and I thought I was about 14 when in fact 9.

Xavielli · 06/03/2010 15:45

I told my parents this morning. Hadn't planned too but just kind of blurted it out! lol. They were great! Love them to bits. Not planning to tell anyone else until I've had a scan. I have worked up the courage to book a MW appointment on Monday so will let you know when that is!

DP has (I think) accepted that I'm going to continue with the pregnancy no matter what he says and is trying to find a way of dealing with that. We were even civil to each other before he went away yesterday. Things might turn out ok yet..... I do feel sorry for him. Neither of us planned this and he was really against having any more children. I just keep trying to explain that this isn't something I'm DOING to him, but something that happened and I am DEALING with.

I am hoping DP tells his kids soon anyway as opposed to finding out through other means, I don't think that would be right at all.

I have been feeling really sick these last 3 days which isn't something I remember from my previous pregnancies. Haven't been sick though, long may that continue, I wouldn't want to break my 'no morning sickness' run!

Xavielli · 06/03/2010 15:47

PS. Has anyone else become addicted to looking at baby stuff? I think if I click on the iCandy website one more time it's going to automagically become my homepage!!
