I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

Well I've dug out my travel sickness bands from last time round and am wearing them now - hard to say if they make much difference though. I have been drinking fizzy water with PFJ lemon cordial in it and it's brilliant - lovely and sour and really takes the edge off my nausea.

QuestionsAnswered I've never been told to take an overnight bag to EPU before, but I have been warned about being there all morning! Chances are if you're an emergency appointment, they'll have to keep you waiting until there's a gap in the queue IYKWIM. Tedious but worth it for the scan. Take a lot of magazines and something to eat/drink

Lulabell sorry to hear things have been so grim for you...I get stressed just trying to get my DS's shoes on in the morning, so I really feel for you. Hope your DH heals quickly...can he use his other arm to push the hoover round?

Tiredfeet hope your MW appointment went OK. I have a bizarre fascination with having blood taken - I like to watch but then I used to enjoy donating blood too! Can't do that anymore since I had a blood transfusion in Sept after my last miscarriage...grrr.

NinthWave · 01/03/2010 19:23

Ivy I don't know what to do this time round...I'd planned a HB last time but ended up in hospital at the last minute, and DS had shoulder dystocia so not sure what the consultant will suggest this time round. Maybe I'll get lucky and have a nice quick 2-hour labour and a baby that pops out unprompted

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 01/03/2010 19:50

I was sick for the first time this morning! Dh was celebrating- I know that sound strange but after mcs any sign of hormones makes him (not me, I was swearing at him lol) dance

lulabell don't worry- here is the place to vent and it sounds like you've had a really tough week, inhope this week is better

elsa congrats on the scan, what a relief.

pfj and everone one else having vivid dreams, I have too. Normally don't remember any dreams, but have had lots of wierd ones including some horrible mc ones- sonphysically real, I was even more paranoid for days after. Last mc happened 2d after a similar dream, but so far things seemto be going better

AbFabT · 01/03/2010 20:09

Thanks, Hermya123.

I've never taken a sick day in my nine years at my place of employment, but would gladly take several now, and I couldn't care less what it looks like on my attendance record! Haven't told work yet though. I think when I do, they'll be pretty good - they also have a sick room with a bed, so I can go have a little lay down if need be. There are at least two other colleagues that I know of that are pregnant though, and just the one bed.

Nymphadora · 01/03/2010 20:10

Anyone else continously drinking? On about 20th bottle of water today. Also had2 cans of pop but they tasted funny and a lovely glass of orange!

Hermya321 · 01/03/2010 20:22

Nymph I've drank my weight in squash today, I drank the non sugar free stuff but to be honest after this weekend I needed the calories.

Seashells I dreamt I went back to college, I was sat in a classroom reciting my notes to people. I've heard people get really naughty dreams when they're preggers. Typically I always have to be the odd one out, I dreamt about being back in college how boring!

lilmissmummy · 01/03/2010 22:10

Hi All I am less croaky and more snotty today and with a ongoing sinus problem then it is not a pretty sight

I am continuously drinking - orange juice mainly, and sparkling water... soooo thirsty.

Weird dreams - I had a dream last night where I was pregnant with triplets and I had 3 bumps. I was arguing in mothercare with dh about which pushchair to get!!

great news about the scans and sending you all chocolate or oranges to ward off the ms x

pookey · 01/03/2010 22:20

Seashells thats horrible for you, I have had more sympathy for ds and his bad dreams now I have started dreaming they can shake you up even though you know its just a dream.

Ninthwave I was refuesd a homebirth 2nd time after shoulder dystocia with ds. In the end I had really good hospital birth with dd and just a small tear. Actually I was in pre labour overnight with dd but only 2cm when arrived at hosp around half 6, 7.00 am. There was a midwife change an hour later who told me I wasnt in labour and should go home but once I actually allowed her to touch me she found I was 10 cm, DD in my arms by about 9.00 am! Maybe if I had argued the case more I could have had a homebirth but consulatnt whom I do respect said that women can have elective cs after shoulder dystocia.

The PFJ, I havent read your birth story yet but I remember 2nd time round just remembering that after I gave birth to ds the midwife saying that 100 years ago ds and I could both have died in childbirth, because of this memory I was really dreading giving birth pos to extent of depression but I read lots of stuff on mumsnet that reassured me and in the end it was ok. 2nd time round from friends experiences can often be a better experience whether that be esc or vbac (sorry really should read your story first, hope I am not upsetting you) x

Lulabelle poor you really sorry its been so difficult recently x

QuestionsAnswered · 01/03/2010 23:47

Thank you ninthwave.

Can't sleep tonight.

Nymphadora · 02/03/2010 07:19

I am exausted today. Spent most of last night in a boat searching for Frodo in a boat. We had to steal so much food before we left & noone would give us any cos we caused all the power cuts. There was about 10 of us in the boat including me dh & kids, someone from dh work , an ex bf from school and chris moyles wearing a wig and glittery lip stick.

tinywelsh · 02/03/2010 08:16

Hope things are getting better this week for you lulabell.

Congrats to everyone that's had a good scan

Thanks for the info picc and MartiniMummy I'm gonna try and cycle for as long as possible, luckily i'm only on the roads for about 2 mins, it's nearly all cycle route through rural bits of north wales. I'm also getting myself a 'baby on board' sticker to fix to the back of my rucksack

The most annoying thing recently is I have a large bar of dairy milk bought for me by a collegue, but i can't touch chocs at the moment, not even mini eggs! Anyone else on a protein binge?

lilmissmummy · 02/03/2010 09:16

loving the dream Nymph!

tinywelsh poor you not wanting chocolate... I only want kitkats and I dont particularly like kitkats. I am on a fruit juice binge personally. I bought 8 cartons yesterday in Tesco and there is 5 and a half left this morning.

Questions did you get to sleep eventually?

I dreamt that my best friend had gone missing and her mum (she is 29?!) had looked everywhere and eventually I found her in a yucky room in London where I took her home to Scotland (I live in South West England) where I took care of her???? Might call her late make sure she is ok! It upset me so much that I was awake at 5 and couldnt get back to sleep!

Isnt it weird that we are all having such odd dreams - I dont remember this from last pregnancies?!

Hermya321 · 02/03/2010 10:09

Hello everybody,

I'm a little worried, I've had such terrible nausea and felt wretched all weekend and the begining of this week. I've had sore boobs and the works.

Now I've woken up today and I feel on top of the world, I've had a bit of nausea but not nearly as much as before and my boobs aren't as sore. Now I'm a wee bit worried, can someone reassure me? Should I go to the Docs because I feel less wretched? I feel a bit silly contemplating it but I am getting worried at my lack of feeling rubbish.

I've had the past few days off though and have taken a more relaxed approach to my MS and fatigue in that I just figured I can't change it and that I should just accept it and get on with it. Argghhhh I can't win.

I'm still having vivid dreams, I dreamt I went to a train station last night where my friend and her DS who had chicken pox were there and my ruck sac got nicked.

Help?

Lulabell · 02/03/2010 11:11

Thanks so much to all of you for your messages, it makes me feel a lot better

I thought the bad luck was continuing as I ended up in a and e last night with excruciating pain and bleeding, lots of clots etc, but had an early scan this morning and baby's there and fluttering away, so I think we're finally on the up chez lulabell

Hermya, one of the reasons I was so worried last night was because my ms stopped on sunday afternoon (mine's normally worse late afternoon/evening) and I wasn't peeing as much, but all seems to be fine, so I'm sure you will be too.

For the dreamers - almost all my dreams are about sex, although in increasingly odd settings. Last night I dreamt that dh and I lived in the sea, and were ttc, but had to do it in the water, which was very salty and stopped you sinking, but that there were sharks and whales, so we had to avoid them too. At one point we had a floating bed, and there was a whale in it topping-and-tailing with us

lilmiss I'm loving fruit juice and smoothies. And just went to M&S and bought tons of shortbread!

QuestionsAnswered · 02/03/2010 13:08

Thanks for asking lilmiss No I didn't get much sleep at all, probably a couple of hours, continued to bleed last night and urine was pink so was worrying like mad. Tomorrow's scan can't come soon enough. Especially as I haven't had any clear symptoms yet

Lulabell, glad you got a scan so quickly and everthing is ok.

Freud would have a field day with all these dreams!

QuestionsAnswered · 02/03/2010 13:21

Just realised I hadn't posted what I wanted to say to you Hermya

It sounds ok to me but I would, if you can bear to wait, see how you get on today and make an appointment for tomorrow. Symptoms do vary from day to day, My sickness last time could be terrible one day and not as bad the next. Hope you are ok, I know how upsetting all this worrying is.

tinywelsh · 02/03/2010 13:31

Hi Hermya321 don't worry too much, you might just be really lucky and not suffering. I've been feeling a little weird as all i'd expereinced was ms and none of the other symptoms. You've probably just got a very resiliant body!

Hermya321 · 02/03/2010 14:52

Thanks for the encourgaing messages everybody, I went into town for a bit of a walk and I've had that metallic taste in my mouth all afternoon and my tummy was a bit queasy. So I'm assuming all is well in babyworld at the mo. Plus I'm still off my food, so I'm taking that as a good sign.

Questionsanswered I hope things get better for you soon. I was quite tired and stressed this weekend which is when I had bad nausea. But, I've ended up with two unexpected days off which have probably given me the space to relax and rest up, which to be honest I desperately needed. I've heard that stress makes MS worse so I'm assuming my nice new state of mind has helped ease the nausea somewhat which has then led to my worry.

Nymphadora · 02/03/2010 15:24

Am in my lunchbreak now just stuffed my face in Morrisons cafe. Desprate to say to colleagues now as people keep talking about later in the year & I want to say I'm not here and watch them flounder

only another 2 hours to go anyway then home to bed

NinthWave · 02/03/2010 16:32

Pookey thankyou, it's really reassuring to hear you had a good birth 2nd time round after SD. I think I'd rather go naturally if possible but am worried that if baby is measuring big, I might have to be induced before due date - in which case I'd rather go straight for the CS as I really don't like the idea of an emergency one after several days of induced labour!

Will see nearer the time I guess!

Lulabell · 02/03/2010 17:12

QuestionsAnswered sorry to hear things are still not going well, fingers crossed for tomorrow's scan, I really hope it goes as well for you as it did here.

Hermya I'm glad you're feeling better (in a manner of speaking ) that's really good news.

Hermya321 · 02/03/2010 17:23

Thanks Lulabelle!!

tiredfeet · 02/03/2010 17:41

lulabell I'm so pleased you had good news at the scan after what sounds like a very difficult couple of weeks

questionsanswered I'm really sorry you've got to go through all this worrying and waiting. I really hope it is good news for you tomorrow morning too, and will be thinking of you. I'm sure the wait must be so tough though

hermya - my morning sickness disappeared for three days about a week and a half ago, then came back with a vengeance, so I think it can just have patches where it disappears. Try and enjoy it, I wish I had made the most of those three days 'off' from feeling ill, rather than worrying it was a sign something was wrong (but I know its not easy to stop worrying)

I am feeling a little better today, DH bought me some sea bands on the midwife's recommendation, and they do seem to be working (well, with the help of medication) - managed some crumpets and more ice lollies. I feel a little bit stronger with some food inside me and even managed a little walk to the shops, my first adventure outside (except to the drs) in a week!

tiredfeet · 02/03/2010 17:44

ninthwave I am very impressed you are able to watch when you give blood!! I know my phobia is totally irrational and thats what irritates me so much I think, it never actually hurts at all when they take it. I could never give blood because of it though, and I really wish I could as its such an amazing thing to do

NinthWave · 02/03/2010 20:02

I think I'm just morbid! I do have a weird fear of having my ears touched though - those thermometers that they stick in your ear actually make me seize up and flinch, I hate them. I think it's down to too many ear infections as a child - I once bit the GP who foolishly tried to look in my ear with a light!
