Due October 2010 - anyone else??

loueytbg · 21/01/2010 13:26

I got a very faint BFP last night and a really nice pink line this morning This will be my third baby, but 2nd pregnancy - I had twins first time round and I'm really hoping for just the one this time.

Due date is 2th October by ovulation date and 6th October by LMP - I'm going with the early date at the moment although I'm sure the NHS will change it to the later one.

I feel as sick as a dog and have nearly puked already which doesn't bode well for the next few weeks. God know how I'm going to keep it quiet.

Right I'm off to buy some more tests to pee on

Happy sunday everyone!!!

Our boiler has broken.. its freezing!! Jumpers are being applied to me and DS. Hubbie has apologised and is being nice and fluffy. We cuddled up extra warm under fur blankets last night - was lovely.

Am going to book 1st appointment with midwife tomorrow, I hope I get the same one as my first pregnancy. She was fantastic.

Have just remembered/looked up on the pampers website pregnancy calendar its time for HIM to take over the cat litter duties. Us pregnant mums can't go near cat poo!! So if any of you girls forgot, make sure you wear gloves or get some other poor sap to do it!!

Fingers are cold now... maybe I should wear my fluffy gloves lol....

Will put kettle on, help yourselves to a cup of tea or chocolate!

Love ThePFJ xxxxx

NinthWave · 28/02/2010 08:56

I got the last bag of mini eggs on the shelf in Waitrose yesterday [smug] Sorry if I caused problems for any pregnant ladies in the Cheshire area

I feel so, so sick. ALL the time. Yesterday my DH got in from work with a massive curry - normally I would be all over it, but I had half a plateful and sat almost sobbing into my lime and soda! He kindly offered to put DS to bed, so I just slumped on the sofa and watched Harry Hill. I was asleep in bed by 9.30!

My latest addiction is warm Sainsburys tiger bread with butter and strong cheddar cheese, with a nice healthy packet of bacon crisps on the side

Am going to be brave and add myself to the list at last...

ThePFJ · 28/02/2010 09:21

Yay NinthWave... good to have you here with us officially LOL.

I LOVE curries, I would be devastated NOt to be able to eat one right now. My main craving at the moment is fish fingers and sweetcorn!

Harry Hill was hilarious last night, I was asleep straight after it too. I am SO fricking TIRED.... no amount of hot bacony smells can wake me up anymore once I am sleeping on the sofa!

shieldbug · 28/02/2010 09:33

welcome to the newbies
been offline for a while, enjoying romantic night at hotel (with dh of course!!) and lovely walk in hills.
all this talk of food is making me think I ought to be feeling cravings by now, but I really don't. I don't feel sick either, just tired. I've always had vivid dreams, so can't count that as a symptom either. Am I really pg? !
Seriously though, think I'm getting off lightly so far, but I feel for those of you who are having it rough at the moment.
In follow up to the cat litter comments, to fellow reptile owners out there, remember that they can harbour salmonella and take extra care. (mine's a beautiful tortoise btw!)

ThePFJ · 28/02/2010 09:38

Ooooo I always wanted a tortoise shieldbug.

My first Pregnancy I didnt get sick at all, and I didnt crave until the 2nd trimester. If that makes you feel any better?? I was however completely soppy and tired out all the time. An emotional nightmare is something akin to how my dear hubbie described me...

I expect you are very pg shieldbug... there's no getting out of it now!!!

(cackle)

ThePFJ · 28/02/2010 10:00

Damnit I just read the page on c-sections here and I am having flashbacks to my first emergency c-section birth.. I won't freak you all out by talking about it.. I couldnt even talk about it to my old ante-natal club... am in tears now hugging my DS. Buggerbuggerbuggerbugger.... maybe I should stay off mumsnet for a while and focus on good things..

xxx

QuestionsAnswered · 28/02/2010 10:21

Norfolk, I agree with phoning and seeing what they can do. A friend of mine swears by crying over the phone, they will do anything to get you off

Sorry you are feeling so poorly tiredfeet, ninthwave and Hermya

tiredfeet, please don't worry about moaning, it is what the this thread is about, being able to support each other. Your turn will come when you are skipping around during the second trimester as a vision of serene pregnancy and some of us are feeling like bloated whales you will have to listen to us moan

Thepfj, hope you get your broken boiler fixed soon, I am so cold at the moment even with the heating working, so you have my sympathies. Glad your Dh has seen the error of his ways, has he not learnt never to mess with a pregnant woman?

Those of you with weird dreams... well you're just weird! Though wouldn't mind some of the more interesting ones myself

ThePFJ · 28/02/2010 10:28

I created a topic in childbirth... maybe mumsnet can help quell my fears!!??

Must stay strong and not turn into quivering emotional wreck!!!

Ergh...

Hermya321 · 28/02/2010 10:51

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose feeling a bit worse for wear. I've just eaten some toast and I'm now regretting it slightly . We'll get there in the end, I just keep reminding myself theres a very valid reason I feel like I've been beaten with a shovel and that it's ok.

On the vivid dreams front, I had a dream last night that I went to visit my Mum who had put the pram together all wrong and my baby was sat in a car seat on top of the carry cot. I also dreamt that I had a big old scrap with my sister outside Boots. I was also dressed in my old school uniform. How weird is that!

tiredfeet Me and DH were supposed to go out for lunch today, it's not going to happen unfortunately.

ThePFJ Sorry about your boiler, I hope it gets fixed soon.

Elsa123 · 28/02/2010 12:44

I've been having night long vivid dreams too. ThePFJ- talk to the midwife about your fears and flashbacks. I have no idea about birth (yet...) but it does seem that elective cs's are better and also, if you know a birth may end on an emcs this time, you may feel more mentally prepared? Anyway, ages to go yet!! I have no food cravings, just tremendous blood sugar crashes that necessitate immediate feeding. Going to take biscuits for myself as well as the dogs on walks from now on! Still got the pains, which are worse when I stretch, so they must be stretching pains.....here's hoping.

Nymphadora · 28/02/2010 12:46

We have been swimming and out to brunch, this afternoon is the cinema, hope I can stay awake!

IlooklikeGrotbagstoday · 28/02/2010 15:43

Hello Ladies

Just want to warn you all to keep an eye on your MS. After 2+ weeks of not keeping anything down, i asked for some advice.

The dr referred me to the EPU where i saw a lovely nurse who assured me after being subjected to the dildocam that the baby was absolutely fine. I was worried the baby hadn't been getting enough nutrition. She told me I however, was not fine and suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum explanation and sent me straight round to A & E. After some blood and urine tests, other than being severely dehydrated i was technically starving Which seems ridiculous when you look at me and then starving children in Africa! Anyway to cut a long story short, I spent a few days in hospital on a drip and was injected with anti-sickness drugs (which sent me a bit dolally). Am home now recouperating but am still very weak. DH's parents are coming over everyday to help with DS.

Have enough anti-sickness pills to last me until the middle of the week then will have to see what happens. Hopefully will be ok then. Today is the first day i have actually fancied anything to eat and guess what it is?.......

....MINI EGGS

tiredfeet · 28/02/2010 16:32

Hi IlooklikeGrotbagstoday, I am so sorry you ended up so ill but glad you are feeling better now. I only lasted one day of not keeping anything down before asking the doctor for advice (big wimp here!). It took another couple of days before I could get hold of the meds (cautious doctors and DH away with work). I can't imagine how tired and ill you must have felt after two weeks .

but after a few days on them I tried not taking them today and slowly grazing on oatcakes and not been sick yet so I am cautiously optimistic that things are working. Just wanted to tell you this so that you can have some hope that things might keep getting better.

I read (probably on mumsnet!) that ice lollies can help as they are easier to keep down, and when I couldn't keep anything else down I could sometimes keep an ice lolly down. I picked ones with real fruit juice as I think pregnancy has made me sensitive to colourings like I used to be as a child. I figured this way I got a teeny bit of liquid and vitamins inside me. I guess different things work for different people but this definitely helped me. At one point I did a tesco order for loads more lollies, and was eating one (in my dressing gown) when the delivery man arrived, I think he thought I was a bit of a loon

Vikks · 28/02/2010 18:35

Grotbags Glad you're home and getting some help. It sounds horrible what you've been through, FX you're over the worst.

QuestionsAnswered · 28/02/2010 19:26

Grotbags, that must have been a worrying time, glad you are now at home and have some help with your DS. Must be difficult enough without worrying about him too.

Can I just ask (beware TMI ahead!) has anyone else had brown mucous? Went to the toilet today and twice had quite a bit of it. Have googled and it seems to be saying it is usually ok, but wasn't sure if I should be going to the docs. Didn't have this last time so was a bit worried by it tbh.

Hermya321 · 28/02/2010 19:44

I'm glad you're feeling better Grotbags

MummyLovesSadie · 28/02/2010 20:12

What a scare Grotbags, I'm glad you are starting to keep things down.

Questions lots of people have brown bleeding/mucous. There are at least three ladies on my mc thread that worried themselves half to death as they had it right throughout the first trimester & thought they were going to have another doomed pregnancy but have gone on to have healthy babies. I think there may be a thread somewhere on mn on brown bleeding in pregnancy.

Feeling very yuk & ick today but very happy with that!

Xavielli · 28/02/2010 20:42

I've eaten too much chocolate! cry

picc · 28/02/2010 21:44

oh dear, was just coming on here to have a bit of a moan. But now I see I'm not as bad as you, tiredfeet and grotbags.

Been feeling progressively worse and worse. Yesterday, I got really upset cos I just felt so MISERABLE and ill. And then I started to really resent being pregnant for a while. And THEN i felt really guilty, cos of course I am over the moon really. Just hate feeling yukky.

Then today, I puked this morning and this afternoon. And I think I may do again tonight. Just feel awful.

Will this pass?... Really hope so. Sure it wasn't this bad with DS.

Norfolk, I haven't even had the letter through about my scan yet, and I'm past 9 weeks now. Am also in Norfolk. I had quite an early GP appointment, and apparenly she sent off the form straight away, so am worrying a bit about why I've heard nothing so far.

Wasn't expecting scan before 12 weeks, anyway. Last time, didn't have it til 13 weeks. Am trying not to think about it cos that seems like SUCH a long time away.

Anyway, do try phoning. It can't hurt

lilmissmummy · 28/02/2010 22:42

I am going to phone and make my midwifes appointment tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about all your morning sicknesses. Mine hasnt been too bad, but didnt kick in in previous pregnancies until 8 weeks and I am only 7 and a bit. Although I was sick a little yesterday. I have got a stinking cold though. Lost my voice and have a nasty cough. You cant take anything except paracetamol for it!!!! I went into Boots and croaked at the woman saying that I was pregnant and apparently I can take simple linctus and they said they dont sell it anymore so I ended up with lockets.

So together with the tiredness from pregnancy and tiredness from feeling so yucky I have spent the majority of the weekend in bed.

Along with the orange craving, I am craving orange juice. Struggling to find drinks too as completely gone off tea and coke

My feet are soooo hot and uncomfortable

Anyway thats my complaining over, I have sopme minieggs I can donate to the cause. I cant face them... anyone got any orange juice?

Think I might have to get some maternity trousers as mine are getting very tight especially in the afternoons

So excited about having a baby and still worried about it making it!

Questions - I would get it checked out just to be sure but as far as I remember if it is brown it is old blood.
picc, tired, elsa, Thepjd, hermya and grotbags hope you feel better soon - it will all be worth it when you are handed a little bundle of joy in 30 something weeks time!

tiredfeet · 01/03/2010 00:11

oh picc sorry to hear you're suffering too. I know what you mean about resenting being pregnant occasionally, I wanted this pregnancy for so so long, and I feel terrible now that there is half of me that wishes I wasn't because it is so grim at the moment . When I have real lows I have found talking to my sister-in-law about the fun bits of having a child helps me focus on the end goal. But its definitely not easy at times

like grotbags says though, do keep an eye on it and make sure you arent' getting dehydrated etc. The doctors etc I have spoken to have actually been understanding and supportive.

grotbags - hope today has gone well. It must be good to be back at home at least

despite all my touching word earlier, I ended up really ill this evening, so clearly I do need medication to keep this under control. I went to the out of hours service and he gave me an injection, and so far I have managed to get a little bit of liquid and food inside me so that is good. I think I could cope if it was just going to be for another week or so, but I'm only 8 weeks and I've read it can be 12-16 weeks before you stop. that just sounds unbearable

tiredfeet · 01/03/2010 00:14

lilmissmummy sorry about your cold, that sounds miserable, I really hope it doesn't stay bad for too long. Could you have lemon and hot water with a bit of sugar? my dad used to make that for me with a cold and sometimes it helped (partly just the hot water and steam). hopefully a weekend resting will have helped you to fight it at least

QuestionsAnswered · 01/03/2010 07:57

Mummylovessadie and lilmiss thanks for your replies, think I am going to try and get an appointment today.

Picc and lilmiss sorry to hear you are both feeling unwell too, lilmiss being poorly on top of pregnancy poorly is just not fair!

tiredfeet it is sooo worth it, funnily you may even look back on your pregnancy with fondness, I was sick throughout last time (though not quite as bad as you) and I still enjoyed it and the moment you hold your baby for the 1st time, you forget all of this, I promise.

Also even MS often does last until 12-16 weeks it often starts a gradual tail off in severity so it is actually at its worst right now and it is amazing how even a slight reduction makes you feel much better.

Thepfj hope you got some good advice on your thread, I had a quick scan, but the answers were already so good, I didn't have anything to add. Hope it helps you to move forward, I know once I feel more pregnant (still in the not quite real, anxious phase) it will start to become a regular thought of mine too.

Good luck to you all this week for those of you at work and those running around after your children.

Hope today goes well for you Elsa will be thinking of you at 8.30.

I've just started cycling to work again, been doing it for the last couple of years. I'm sure I added about 20 mins to my usual time. Anyone else doing this/ done this? How long can you cycle for?

I have been having ms but I bought some travel bands (£4.99 from Superdrug) and i've been fine since then.

Just to add to the food cravings, all I can think about is hard boiled eggs and scotch eggs, I can't even look at chocolate right now.

MummyLovesSadie · 01/03/2010 08:47

Norfolk I think dreams about mc are totally normal at any stage in pregnancy. It's the thing we all dread the most and I think pregnancy dreams tend to be extra vivid. Just try & think that your little bean is safe inside you & doesn't need an extra scan.

Elsa what time is your scan? Good luck.

NinthWave my dh is off work today & I've told him I must have tiger bread, strong chedder & pickled onions for lunch!
