Evening all,

Emlou hope evrything went ok today for you and little one and hope you have some clearer answers

itw your post made me smile . How very nice of the sainsburys lady to help you out and its also good to know she will get rewarded! Our emotions get the better of us sometimes, i feel like that when i keep dropping things! Had a dropsie day today and it got me sooo frustrated and upset! Hormones hey?!

On the tired front knowing how you all feel and have buckets of sympathy for you. Its so annoying to be really tired only to not be able to sleep at night because of weeing constantly/ uncomfortable etc

Am just contemplating buying a quinny buzz 4? Anyone got one and what do you think?

Right tea ready I will check back later!

EmLouT, I saw your post earlier today and have been thinking of you and hoping all goes well today, whatever you and the doctors decided to do.

I agree that Kitty is a lovely nn for Catherine. I've always liked it. Would def go for the full name on the birth certificate as I can't help feeling that diminutives in adulthood can be a bit of a handicap at times. The name we've chosen for our dd also has a nn that could be a standalone name too but she will have the full name on her birth certificate and I may well use it mote than the nn as I love it.

Lots of BH here, particularly when walking fast or carrying things. Finding it all a bit tiring and really could do without work now. Oh, and a bit more sleep at night would be good too. DS seems under the weather for some reason and his sleep (and ours) is suffering as a result.

Sure there was more I meant to say but brain seems to have gone on holiday without me......

mummyscrummy we test drove the quinny buzz 4 in the shop - it's a fairly big push chair, quite heavy but with quality build so will last for next baby too if you're planning on more, interchangeable seat is good but is very low down so if you're tall you may find you get back ache, also if your little one turns out to be tall, the main seat won't last too long as the seat is quite low at the back. We sat our DS age 2 in it and his head was over the back of the headrest. We decided not to get it because of the weight and the seat height.

74 love the name Catherine and Katherine, I'm a big fan of longer names that can be shortened

itw really feel for you reading about your experience, well done that sainsburys lady

Looks like we're all exhausted at the moment, hoping miracle cure of choc pud will make a difference

thanks mumbot i've just been reading all the reviews online and most of them are not good! Also the fact your DS couldnt fit in it put me off too cos i was hoping that our DS who is also 2 could go in it when I was carryng DD in sling! So thank you!

itw when i said your post made me smile I didnt mean funny smile it was a sympathy smile and a know the feeling smile.

sariska I'm intrigued about BH, even though this is second time round for me I'm still not sure what im feeling is BH if that makes sense. Sometimes when I walk I have to stop cos I have a wave of pain low down is it safe to say they are BH?! I know its a silly question

74 i'm in agreement with the others Catherine is a lovely name and really loving kitty too! We still can't agree on a name yet but i'm hoping DP will let me have my own way when i'm in the throes of labour like he did last time !

oh and sariska, hope the choc pud had the desired effect!! Sounds yummy may have to go on a choccie hunt in the fridge!!

bye for now!

Slackbladder- Kitty is a great name, as is Catherine. I'd go formal on the certificate. Hope your SPD doesn't get any worse. I will be going to see consulatnt on Monday to beg for an early induction (had one last time round too.)

EmLouT- fingers crossed that everything is OK xxx

IWCAS- don't mean to depress you but there is a chance that it could be SPD (feels a bit like you've been kicked in the undercarriage by a horse.) Get it checked asap.

Hello all- hard to keep up when DH steals your laptop.....

Off for scan number (lost count) in the morning.

Quick wave and fingers crossed for EmLouT

I'm going to bed. Now. Working until midnight last night, then DH came home at 1.30 from a very rare night out in a really chatty mood (!), then I woke at 4.30 for the inevitable bathroom trip and couldn't get back to sleep. How I then missed the train is a mystery.

Aww Pixie... I read your last post and I was going to comment on you missing your daughter (but I didn't comment on anyone as it was too many posts). I totally understand how you must feel... I miss DD a lot after only 5 hours in nursery! Although of course some peace and quiet is nice too. She'll be back before you know it.

Goodnight all...

IWCAS if you have got SPD then its best to catch it early with physio osteopath/chiropractor - my sister had it with no2 and managed to avoid most symptoms with no3 by regular sessions with them (she says was worth the expense)
EMLOU feeling for you
MANDA sounds like its awful to sit through that with preggie hormones

I had a bit of a scare on christmas eve-big bleed, but thankfully everythings settled down again-trying to take it easy - says she after changing the 3rd bed from toddler sick bug...
Am still trying to figure out everyone on here as Im new

Good Morning all,

had a terrible night. No sleep at all! Lots of BH and a general pain across my tummy. Already took codeine to see if it helps but my tummy is very sore and it's hard to move... even the baby moving is painful.

Sorry about the moan! I guess I need some sleep.

Hope you all have a good day and thank god is friday!

Caitni · 22/01/2010 10:21

Emlou am really hoping things are going OK with you and your little one.

And so sorry to hear that so many are suffering with pain, aches etc. IWCAS I think puree and other's advice is good about getting proper help if it is SPD. Sounds awful though, when you still have to be getting to work.

Scooby's pointed to a bargaintastic price for a dream genii pillow and I highly recommend one - tis been the best thing I've bought all pregnancy, as I've been using one every night since about 20 weeks and it does help with reducing random aches. I actually now use a v-shaped feeding pillow a friend lent me for my back now as well, as the dream genii's back support isn't enough for me now...

Although last night I didn't get to sleep til past four. Moved to the couch as I didn't want to disturb my husband any more than I already had with my constant squirming and sighing! At least I read a lot of my book . So am suitably narky and exhausted this morning at work - thank god it's Friday and I can veg out when I get home from work tonight!

Thanks for all the good luck wishes on the driving test front . DrSkid am of your morning test - I have to wait til half two. Fingers crossed for us both!

Oh and on the Kitty/Catherine front, I'm actually a Catherine and am called Kitty by certain old friends so definitely a fan . I also try to stay out of the name debates, as I think as long as the parents are happy then the child will be happy iykwim. But I'm not of a fan of pet names/nick names on birth certificates...my best friend from uni is called Debbie by everyone who knows her, and her mum wanted her to be registered as Debbie but on the day her dad registered Deborah. She's very glad of it now she's a clinical physchologist that her letter head/name plate/published papers etc are all in the name of Dr Deborah X rather than Dr Debbie X...

OK, enough rambling from me. You can tell that my maternity cover is in a meeting as I'm stealing some much needed internet time!!

Big waves to you all.

Hi all,

just a quick message as very jaded from two days of being shuffled around hospital departments. Looks like LO is suffering from IUGR but (after a further scan by a foetal medicine specialist) he is still doing better inside than he would outside. The docs think the placenta should last another couple of weeks if I rest and take it easy. have been signed off work which should help.

Have had so many tests and been poked and prodded so much in the past two days but I do feel reassured (a bit).

DH is taking me away for the night tomorrow to take my mind off things.

Hope you are all well.

Just had a reflexology session - it was very relaxing, and she has managed to make my feet look slightly less like fat sausages and my carpal tunnel feels better too. Apparently it can reduce the length of your labour which is precisely why I am giving it a go!

Emlou- glad you and Lo are ok and it sounds like you deserve a lovely night away with your DH.

Good luck to those with driving tests

Emlou - what a relief that you have at least another couple of weeks although I bet you're completely exhausted after your 2-day ordeal at the hospital. Hope you have a lovely time with your DH and get as much rest as you can xxx

sarah - great that Rosie is doing so well and happy birthday to your DS

IWCAS - I get that shooting pain in my pelvis as well (although yours sounds much worse ) - I've had it in all my pregnancies towards the end and I reckon it is as the baby's head moves down, the ligaments/ muscles in your pelvic area are forced out the way. Bl**dy hurts though and can be v. embarrassing when you screech out in the middle of the street - glad the lady in Sainsbury's was so lovely to you - things like that restore your faith in human nature

sympathies to caitni and other insomnia sufferers - it is just awful isn't it? - I got to sleep about 3am last night and it is sooooo frustrating

Sarah glad to hear things are going well - your clever DD getting so mobile with the cast!

DrSkid sorry the random pregnancy insomnia seems to be striking you as well . Here's hoping we all get a good night's rest tonight!
