Ah bless, Blueberries, he sounds like DS's twin. DS is so physical with me - he's a very cuddly little boy, and he's always coming up and stroking my hair or giving me a big kiss - it's very cute. He also doesn't like it much when I have a shower, but he loves to help me in the bath - passing me the shampoo etc. And when I'm doing my make-up he sits on my knee and puts on his own bit of blusher .

Also, do I detect from your use of the phrase 'their' bedroom that you're going to get your two to share a room? I'm really agonising over this, because in one way I feel a bit mean sticking them in together (because we do have three bedrooms), but if I don't, I know I'm really going to miss having a spare room. I don't know anything about it, though - when they can go in together, what to expect, how to handle it etc. Was going to ask you ladies/others on MN once I'm past the 12 week scan...

bouncingblueberries · 15/01/2010 15:24

We've only got 2 bedrooms at the moment so we'll put them in together when the baby is between 9 months to a year I reckon. Their bedroom is a nice big double bedroom, so plenty of the bunk beds we've promised ds and a cot for the baby! We'll move eventually to a 3/4 bedroom house, but hoping to put it off as long as possible - dh only now getting over the financial shock of our last move 3 years ago!

vix206 · 15/01/2010 15:35

Alice I've been crampy this afternoon as well, not much fun is it?

driedapricots · 15/01/2010 15:42

i'm really worried about DD1's reaction when she realises new baby is sleeping in our room with us for first few months...am sure that'll trigger some jealous night time tantrums!

ladies with cramps...hope they pass, am sure they are just 'growing pains' but it is such a worry isn't it.

neenz · 15/01/2010 16:12

I have been thinking about putting the new baby in with my DTs. I agree having a spare room is nice, and the Dts never wake each other when they cry in the night. I think they just get used to the sound of each other. They definitely like having each other there as company, too. When they go to bed (and wake in the morning) they tend to just chat to each other rather than cry. Sometimes they can chat for two hours before falling asleep at night. We just leave them to it!

Still feeling sick today (9+5), but not as bad as when I was at work. I was shattered - I could not move off the couch after I got in last night. I had a little lie-in this morn (8.30pm) and definitely feel better for having had nore sleep.

Had some very small strange brown/orange 'spots' in my cervical mucous - only about one every time I knicker-check , at first I thought I might be imagining it but I think there is definitely something there. Anyone else had this? I still feel dreadful with MS so not too worried but I never had any discharge with the DTs so obviously it is a bit worrying.

Alicetheinvisible · 15/01/2010 16:35

I found this on another thread in pregnancy earlier which has reassured me (c&p from LittlePoot)

.... Mine told me that 9-10 weeks was common for (gentle) pain as ligaments were stretching and your womb has gone from the size of a plum to the size of a grapefruit. She also said a bit more implantation(bleeding) could happen at this stage (digging deeper I guess!). Hopefully nothing at all to worry about, but have a chat to the midwife - that's what she's there for.

Hope this helps anyone else

ElusiveMoose · 15/01/2010 16:53

neenz, I'm by no means an expert, but my GP told me that brownish blood is much less of a worry than bright red blood (though the latter isn't necessarily a problem either). So maybe just a bit more implantation, as Alice said, or maybe the uterus just getting rid of a few bits of old blood?? I understand your worry, though - and agree that speaking to your MW sounds like a good plan. Who knows, you might even get a nice early scan .

Aussieng · 15/01/2010 17:44

Gosh Neenz - I was in my 10th week in the run up to Xmas and I wouldn't thank you to go through that again - I felt dreadful and it was only the thought of a week off that kept me going so I sympathise totally.. I've had two "periods" of around 2-3 days each of a light browny discharge. It looks worse 'cause it is mixed up with all the other stuff [eww] I was v impressed at how relaxed I was about it and all was fine at my scan.

I've had different types of cramps. One if very like period cramps which I have put down to mild constipation and the other is sharper and feels like two bits of velcro are being ripped violently apart inside of me which I assume is stretching. Lovely

KayloHalo · 15/01/2010 17:53

helloooo

I'm still not sure whats happening with sleeping arrangements. dd and ds currently have their own rooms and we only live in a 3 bed house. Dh wants to put them in the same room but I'm really not keen on this idea, I'm pretty sure they'd play trampolines on the beds instead of sleeping nicely.

Plenty of time to sort that out though

Had my booking in today - was an hour and a half!!!! A was just forms and a chat. But at least it's all done - got to go back on Monday morning for my bloods to be done. definitely feels a bit more real now - it kinda hit me when I was chatting to Mandy (mw) 'god I'm having a baby...again' and then the nerves set in. This is my 3rd and I wasn't nervous with the others but this one...for some reason I feel like a first timer. Not sure why.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Hi everyone, 9 + 6 today and feeling rough as a dog. Nausea, combined with heartburn if I eat anything, knackered because I'm finding it hard to sleep and coming down with my second cold in three weeks. Waaah!

However, on the plus side of things, I had my booking appt yesterday at Kings. Just had blood taken, loads of questions and a packet of crap from Bounty. Not very exciting in itself, but nice to have everything moving along. Roll on my 12 week scan and the end of MS!

cakeywakey · 15/01/2010 19:11

Kaylohalo I had my booking-in today as well - it makes it so much more real!

I agree about the Bounty Pack soontobefatnat, plenty to recycle in there. Am hoping that the one you can pcik up from the supermarket will be a little more exciting - doubt it though, just more bumpf.

Alice and Neenz, hope you're ok and that everything settles down again for you soon.

Hadn't even considered room arrangements yet - I'm like a lot of you in that having a spare room is handy. We have a lot of people come to stay, and loosing that room could be a bit of a bother.

cakeywakey · 15/01/2010 19:12

Losing, I meant losing

neenz · 15/01/2010 19:48

Not had any more brown spots, but will ring MW if I get any more over weekend. I haven't got my booking in or scan date through and I am 10wks on Sunday. Will give them a ring Monday if I don't get anything through.

SmileyMylee · 15/01/2010 21:00

liahgenisuptheduff - I'll be going to Farnborough (if I make it!). Number 2 was 3 hours start to finish, no 3 was about an hour 15 mins. The drive to Farnborough is about 45 minutes!

Had my booking in today - it took 2 and a half hours and nine vials of blood taken. But the midwife was thorough and not taking any chances. Booked me in for an early scan first thing on Monday and the consultant on Tuesday.

liahgenisuptheduff · 15/01/2010 21:06

bloody hell miley isn't there a hospital closer to you? Or HB maybe

My booking today, seems I got away lightly with only an hour. I guess she knew me and I knew the drill, we whizzed through it.

Alicetheinvisible · 15/01/2010 21:38

I have a confession to make..... DH is a vet and i asked him to bring a scanner home Was totally aware that we may not see a baby/heartbeat etc because he is not trained to look for human babies and was not going to get upset, but we have one very wriggly little person with a good heartbeat measuring 4cm(approx) Oh, and i hadn't drunk pints of water and my bladder wasn't full and it was a clear pic, which proves that you don't have to be in so much pain with a full bladder to be scanned.

SmileyMylee · 15/01/2010 21:52

Liah, equidistant between Farnborough and Lewisham. (Never, ever want to set foot in Lewisham again though.) May end up having a home birth but the last 15 minutes always get a bit hairy for me with at least 2 doctors trying to bring my blood pressure down. But I am a lot lighter this time round, so hopefully won't be a problem.

Alice - that's fantastic!

cazzybabs · 15/01/2010 22:07

HORRAH - for the 1st tine in ages i don't feel too sick!!!

I haven't been om here for ages..we have been away skiing and I have been busy with work (yuck yuck yuck)...anyway I am back.

I think I am just about 12 weeks...I need to get on a make a midwife's appointment - but the troube is everyone at work goes "OHHHH she only ever goes to the doctors when she's pregnant)...for the last one (which I lost) everyone knew (not because I have told them but they guessed) which then made it harder to untell them. And because I had a late miscarriage I am not getting excited until it is viable

tah2 · 15/01/2010 23:03

Hi everyone!

i had my first appointment with my mw yesturday and was really disappointed! i was in and out in about 15 minutes and when i asked if if was possible to hear a heartbeat she said its not advisable at this stage and mw's are no longer reccommended to listen for a hb until 24 wks!!!!! I cant believe the only time i will get to hear my babys hb in the first half of my pregnancy will be at my 12 wk scan. Has anyone else come across anything like this?

Love all the nicknames for babys, im going to have to think of something cute now!

We are planning to tell both our dd's (shorly followed by everyone else) after the 12 week scan.

girlsyearapart · 16/01/2010 08:42

Alice you made me laugh then!

My Dh is a cab driver so not much chance of a home scan there

Who was it who asked how old the dds were? they are 16 mo and 2.4.

When the baby comes they will share a room once baby is out of our room. Must confess that I put them in their own rooms at more like 3 months than 6. All slept better for it.

I'm going to start something here but I have a real urge for vienetta...

babyducky · 16/01/2010 09:22

Morning everyone,

Had my booking in yesterday, wasnt very exciting either, just gotta wait for my scan date to come through now.

Wow Alice, thats good that you got to see your baby!

We have told ds about the new baby, he is 3.2, he doesnt really understand, but he has seen a few of my friends pregnant in the last few months & his little friend has just had a baby sister so he is really interested in babies etc at the moment.

They will be sharing a bedroom aswell, as we only have 2 bedrooms, ds has started to be a very bad sleeper lately though so not sure how its going to work out yet!

mmmm vienetta sounds good, I am badly craving icecream & also muller corner yogurts!

Alicetheinvisible · 16/01/2010 09:24

Morning

Slept so well last night, i think i hadn't realised how uptight i was getting until i was reassured iyswim?

Have just been quite sick though, it is really like typical morning sickness where i am ok til i get out of bed, still don't feel sick but start retching and this morning i actually produced more than saliva (sorry tmi ) was bright yellow! Not 5mins later i have wolfed down a bowl of coco pops though

Off to the market soon, want to get some fruit and veg, and i am thinking of making a fruit salad as that is what i really fancy today

starshaker · 16/01/2010 09:52

Im going through a major fruit thing at the moment. Spwnt £60 on fruit and dont have that much left now (did i mention it was yesterday?) Actually was fruit and veg and made really yummy soup and am living on smoothies and milk shake.

Does anybody else wake up with a really sore throat???

KayloHalo · 16/01/2010 10:06

Morning!

I also have been getting fruit cravings. I had an apple and some grapes before bed last night, and this morning I have come into work with 2 golden delicious apples and a bowl full of grapes, grapes are now all gone

I seem to be really off unhealthy things atm, which has to be a good thing. Am craving jacket potatoes and fruit. Yummy!

xx

I know what you mean about the fruit thing! I'm eating a lot of grapes and also loving tinned pineapple and mandarins. Yum
