hello - we made it!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
starrynight · 29/06/2005 15:41

Effects of Caffeine on the baby growth/developement wise. The upside is that I get 2 extra scans - one at 28 wks and one at 36 wks So, I look forward to those.

Bonkerz, you about?

starrynight · 29/06/2005 15:42

And I still feel dire! eugh.

starrynight · 29/06/2005 17:10

fgs where the hell are you all today? Normally you can't move on this thread for posts...?

dramaqueen72 · 29/06/2005 17:37

sorry starry, you wont believe the mad busy day I've had, but am sort of about now, checking in whilst cooking tea etc......

starrynight · 29/06/2005 17:40

That explains it - chippy chips and grilled sausages for us tonight! Easy.

starrynight · 29/06/2005 17:53

Bought some mothercare maternity knickers the other day (thong & normal) and they are crap! The normal ones roll down at the front and are uncomfortable already, the thongs are ridiculous! so uncomfy and tight...fgs i'm only 15 wks. What a waste of £14 - and you can't take them back. grumble grumble.

ebbie22 · 29/06/2005 18:19

oh how annoying...havent done the toliet roll yet, will try and remember when i next go up...lol

goldenoldie · 29/06/2005 18:42

Starry - I got some maternity knickers in Tchibo - they still have stuff left from the pregnancy stuff promotion they were doing a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway - pants are great - huge white things. Very glam, not, that nearly come up to meet my bra - but then I did buy the biggest size they had. £5.99 for two pairs.

starrynight · 29/06/2005 20:13

Oh, I may have a look. I don't like over the bump things as I hate that restricted feeling but under the bump is not working either. hmph. The women in my class all have lovely glam maternity stuff - I may have to a) ask them where they got it b) pilfer it after they have given birth. LOL.

Nemo1977 · 29/06/2005 20:16

evening all
had nightmare day with Ds he has been child from hell so been feeling quite low in myself...thank goodness he is in bed now...phew...not had tea yet infact only had 2 pieces of toast all day but cant be bothered cooking...ooooooooo dh must be psychic he just phoned and asked if i wanted tea bringing in..bless him

floops · 29/06/2005 20:17

Sweetheart, my due date is Dec 19th.

I tried the toilet roll. 8 sheets. Followed by:

"Mum, why are you wrapping toilet roll round your tummy?"

oops!!!

About to indulge in some cream cakes!

I can't believe how many messages there are to read since yesterday. It's taken me ages. It is enjoyable reading.

starrynight · 29/06/2005 20:27

Yes, Nemo...i've just ended my day by yelling at the kids. sigh. Had an enjoyable event at school with lickle kiddies showing off their tai chi and line dancing skills etc then kids ruined it by whinging all the way home, chucking their shoes on the floor and going upstairs with the grumpiest faces ever. grrrr.

starrynight · 29/06/2005 20:27

Floops, mine is 20th Dec and I think I was about 8.5 sheets. But it was the first sheet of the new roll - is that shorter???????????

expatinscotland · 29/06/2005 20:29

I'm afraid to take out the kitchen roll. My belly button is already popping out. I caught sight of myself in a mirror at the shopping centre today, and couldn't believe how pregnant I look.

Nemo1977 · 29/06/2005 20:31

expat my belly button is popping out[well as much as it can as it was sewn in when i was younger] and past couple of days when ive used doppler baby is just under belly button

starrynight · 29/06/2005 20:36

Yes, my bump finishes only a couple of cms under my belly button. I still look fat when sitting and questionable when standing. Belly button still firmly in (but then there's a lot of slack there!)

bonkerz · 29/06/2005 20:55

Evening all,
Good day today, tired but have scoffed LOADS and even felt hungry mid morning and had a sandwich!!!

STARRYNIGHT
DS was born at a hospital in devon so dont know about notes, do they transfer notes or do you have to request them? Like ive said im not certain about the cs and dh and i have decided to talk to consultant after 20 week scan and see what they say, there are lots of other practical reasons to have a cs this time but honestly im just terrified of having to have an emergency cs after being induced which would not only affect my emotional state but also our income as being self employed means i can only afford 2 months off and is had to have emergency cs then would be off for an extra 4 weeks at best and we cant afford that!

Jaysfirst · 29/06/2005 20:56

hmmmm 9.5 bits of loo paper.........13wks 6days......but i am bloated and cant seem to shake it!
Jay here, first timer poster ( well on the Dec Thread anyway) eta for baby is 31 Dec, so i guess i should be keeping an eye out for Jans thread too! This is my first and i am just starting to enjoy it after 12 weeks of ickyness!
Has anyone had the 3d/4d scans? i was looking at them and they look amazing...albeit a bit freaky!!
J xx

dramaqueen72 · 29/06/2005 21:00

ooooh, i'm about to go knicker shopping, its not comfy with 'normal' ones anymore...but where to go? you ladies keep testing them and I'll buy them when youve decided!
floops- welcome aboard glad youre totally batty like most of us and measuring belly with TP (toilet paper)...starry -sure first sheet is same length?? never mind anyhow! know what you mean about maternity clothes on other people..keep nearly stopping any nicely dressed pg ladies i see whilst out!LOL! please ask your class on behalf of ALL of us! how did you get to be a NCT teacher anyhow? sounds very impressive, and what a nice thing to do! reassuring to know you also shout at whingy children when you go home too!
nemo, now i'm concerned, my baby is always low down when using doppler hes not moved very far at all. however bump BIGGER than belly button, know top half is shoved up digestive system but still....concerned. tho i still hear heartbeat I've had this mad fear for a few days now that all is not right. cant quite explain it. but it sometimes makes me quite sad

dramaqueen72 · 29/06/2005 21:01

welcome jay- crossed psots!

Jaysfirst · 29/06/2005 21:08

thanks drama. Theres so much to read on these threads i think the other half is feeling neglected....mind you makes a change that i am on here rather than him!!
I am in surrey if anyone else is around this way. Have just been having a debate with other half about pregnacy badges, id never heard of them , but he has read about them on the BBC website, for some reason hes not for them.....but then he has never been pregnant and feeling sick and faint on packed tubes!

Nemo1977 · 29/06/2005 21:09

DQ its only in past few days hun and i am 16wks on fri...last week when i got doppler it was right in bikini line so dont know whats happened..lol Bump is a lot bigger but as u said its everything else pushed up

Sigh had huge arguement with dh cos i have been moaning about Ds behaviour and cos he is in back in work after 2 wks off he said he wished he could stay home with him all the time...sigh i know i have moaned but it is hard sometimes being alone but i do also know i am lucky..Dh has never spent a full day alone with DS at most he has done a couple of hours...so feeling totally miserable today

Nemo1977 · 29/06/2005 21:11

oops meant to ay welcome jay and sorry about the rant...sigh demon toddlers, tired dhs and pregnant women with hormones r never a good mix

MINNIE1 · 29/06/2005 21:39

jay,
Welcome, I am 13+6 days and was given a due date of the 29th Dec!! But like you i know it will be Jan b4 is happens. Thsis is also my first, Glad the 12 wks are over sickness is gone and in its place are all the silly things like being forgetful! Still tired alot.
I had a 3D scan done at 11 wks (due to MC i had early scans for peace of mind) Really freaky but soo nice to have.. Seeing the size is amazing and i will hope to get another done later on.

I am praying the my doppler arrives tomor, I cant wait to get my hands on it. O pretty please let it come....

TMI WARNING
OK i have really got my sex drive back, Does pregnancy really make you want want want IYKWIM! Its on the brain all day! remember this is my 1st pg (that i have gotten this far)

starrynight · 29/06/2005 21:40

DQ I have just finished a diploma in antenatal education which I did through the NCT. It took me just over 2 years but you can take as long as you like to do it (though I think there may be raised eyebrows if you're there a decade later!). I enjoyed the course and it was quite family friendly, as a distance learning course. Would recommend it definately. It is a nice job, but unfortunately pretty poorly paid with no perks

And yes, I am totally normal. I stomp around when I get fed up of cleaning, yell at the kids (though try to keep this under control!), worry about all the normal pg things, take things out on my DH etc etc. I think people like to see someone normal rather than a 'superwoman' type. (thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it!!)

Welcome to Jay & sympathise nemo. What do you do?
