Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dramaqueen72 · 28/06/2005 11:07

aw! scully how cute of dd!

righty, I am (round biggest part of bump) 8.5 squares. I'm looking forward to growing some!
anyone else?

goldenoldie · 28/06/2005 11:11

Drama - what's that in inches?

george32 · 28/06/2005 11:18

I have measured.........and I'm 7.5 squares

mychelle · 28/06/2005 11:32

Morning All!

I think i should change my name to slacker as I cant post very often as i dont have a PC at home and my boss shares a very tiny room and can see what i am doing. HOWEVER she's not in today - YAY! lots of web mum chat.

I have to say ladies i am at a bit of a loss with the NHS. saw midwife 3/4 weeks ago did bloods and she booked me in for a dating scan 4th July in southampton. However i have heard nothing from midwife as she said she would send notes through and test results. Dont know where i go from here. I feel very alone when it comes to the NHS and have no real clue if i am being over cautious and silly or not?

Any help ladies please? Feeling really tired today mainly because i had one of those conflicts with the other half around 12:30am last night about sleeping (lack of). We didnt actually say anything much - i went down stairs slamming many doors in my path and sobbed on the sofa for a solid 2 hours. He has been soo good and this is the first cross words we have had in the 11 months we have been together. I shunned a kiss from him this morning when he came in to say goodbye. (i was in the spare room, and he is to Munich til thursday on business) I dont want to talk to him! childish i know!

Cheer me up girlies i'm knackered!

scully · 28/06/2005 11:55

mychelle my name could also be slacker, read often but only post now and then.....
do you have your midwife's tel number? I'd ring and ask her what's happening next and has the scan been booked etc. Mine said to ring with any questions I had, any time, but even if she hadn't I would have anyway. It's their job so they should never mind you contacting them.

mychelle · 28/06/2005 12:47

Thanks Scully. You gave me the courage to call them. Midwife says she's been trying to contact me that once ive had my scan to book in for the following week. She couldnt have tried very hard with mine and boyfs mobile numbers given at the first meeting. Reckon thats a load of bull!

I will book appointment today for next week or so, it takes ages to get an appointment if i do it when she says i will have had the baby!! How slack is the nhs.

Does anyone know if they tell you the sex of your baby still. Ive heard lots of people say they dont AND that if you do then you have to pay for a scan and find out privately. How bad is that.

Thats my rant now. promise.

MINNIE1 · 28/06/2005 12:55

mychelle, The MW that scanned me said the sex loads of times, and i was only 11+5!! But she may us this in all cases dont know!!
My sister was in for her scan today she is a week behind me!! o i am getting excited now 2 bubas in the space of a couple of weeks.
She also asked if she sould see the sex and her MW said no not till 20 wks!!

dramaqueen72 · 28/06/2005 13:29

goldenoldie, I dont even want ot think about inches thanks! tp works out to very similar sizes across the brands so i will just by 'squares' i think! george - will be great to see if we grow by next tuesday!!
come on ladies get the loo roll out!!!

dramaqueen72 · 28/06/2005 13:33

mychelle, meant to say unfortunately its the nation that has created NHS scans mostly not telling you the sex -they have actually been SUED by people who were, for example told girl and bought girl thing, painted room pink an d then had a boy !!so they are VERY cautious about telling you incase they are wrong and youre mad!

Thomcat · 28/06/2005 13:56

George, you live round the corner from me then I'm in Pinner but luckily only work in Perivale so I drive in.

starrynight · 28/06/2005 14:25

Didn't mean to offend Goldenoldie - I have no doubt you will love having twins. My next door neighbours seem to get on well. I have had two lots of twins in recent classes and when I told one of the mums my DH was hoping for twins she told me to 'send him round'! lol.

Mychelle I got my notes given to me at the hosp when I had my scan. Our hosp will let you know the sex under the proviso you know its not 100% accurate and will leave them alone if its wrong.

Stone the crows - i am 8.5 squares!! I love being 15 wks.! lol.

To add, not only is it women who give up their seats...invariably its very old women! [roll eyes emoticon] What are men like?

starrynight · 28/06/2005 14:26

In my class tonight we will be looking at PND, coping with lack of sleep, who does what after the birth and have 2 couples visiting with their newborn babies. Sound fun?

goldenoldie · 28/06/2005 14:37

Being told the sex seems to depend on which hospital you are booked in at. Some have a policy of telling and others have a policy of not telling.

Although, I think it is a blooming cheek that the hossie can have access to information about me (the sex of my baby written on computer notes so I don't have access)but not tell me!

I've chosen a different hossie this tima around and hope/demand they will tell me at 20 weeks.

Nemo1977 · 28/06/2005 14:39

our hospital does tell you but say its not 100% although with ds the sonographer looked and said hes defintely a boy i can see his third leg..lol

Thomcat · 28/06/2005 14:58

I really don't want to know sex, not does D and we both make sure everyone knows that each time we've had a scan, which is 5 times now!

Re serats on trains, i've jumped on the tube a few times since being pregnant and have been offered a seat without fail each and everytime and they have so far all been men that have stood up. some have caught my eye from the far down the aisle and gone to stand up. i found this when i was preganant with l too. Once on a really poacked train and no-one could see I was pregant this one lady who noticed addressed the entire carriage and said 'is no-one going to offerthis pregant lady a seat, for GOD'S sake' I really can't complain at all.

sweetheart · 28/06/2005 15:20

Hello everyone, wow it's been busy here today!!!

I've been out to play golf with work and then for a lovely lunch. I'm feeling very very stuffed right now!!!!

right - this is gonna be a long one......

1st I'm so pleased to here that hereshoping has posted - I'll be off to find that it a min.

We have loads of name ideas and will start to narrow them down once we have been for the scan next week (providing we get good news that is)

Starrynight - we will be finding out the sex too. We may find out next week - if not it will be at my 20 week scan later in july.

I still haven't felt any movements yet which is quite worrying. Hopefully it will be any day now but my mw said it can take up to 20 weeks sometimes.

mat leave - I want to have as much time afterwards as possible so I'm going to take 2 weeks holiday and start my official mat leave on 1st December. That means I'll be starting mat leave 4 days before I'm due. Mind you, last time round I worked the 1st day I was in labour and went back after 2 weeks so having 6 months off this time will be bliss

I've measured!!!!! I'm 17 + 2 and I measure 8 1/4 sheets (but I have just had a 3 course meal)

mychelle · 28/06/2005 15:29

I dont mind if its not 100% but a reasonble steer would be good.

Any of you ladies shaving trouble sleeping at night i mean. Still feel tired during the day but night time proving hell. Especially wiht a fidget in bed next to me, hot weather and not being able to take much for hayfever BOOO!

As for seats on buses etc. dont know as i generaly car or walk everywhere. Used to bike but got worrieid about falling off whilst with bump and losing balance.

no cravings yet as everyone keeps asking me, however people are starting to look at the bump more, although some think i am just unfit. (they would have a point there too! Going to start swimming and i am roping the boyf into it too as he says he wants to tone up. Twice a week, but i dont think it will be.

MINNIE1 · 28/06/2005 15:52

mychelle,
Could sleep all day and all night!! i walk around like a zombie when the tiredness hits.. I forget things, could be having a full blow gossip and forget what i was on about that happen twice today!!! O well just another 5 and a bit months..

sweetheart · 28/06/2005 15:58

sweetheart · 28/06/2005 16:07

TMI WARNING!!!!

Can I just ask if any of you are having the same problem as me......

It's like having morning sickness and replacing the sickness with diarrhea!!!!

starrynight · 28/06/2005 16:07

Yep, TMI!!!

expatinscotland · 28/06/2005 16:09

Sweet,
That was me in the first trimester.

sweetheart · 28/06/2005 16:25

oh great - I'm glad it's not just me

mychelle · 28/06/2005 16:26

I totally agree last night right through the night was the worst. What a lady! Feels good to get it out tho, dont think theres a lot of room for much else with the baby doing its thing.

I cannot eat big meals anymore i have to snack which means i am different to everyone else at meal times
No particular food fancies although tonight i will be sitting down to watch dirty dancing and bridget jones etc. and indulging in pop corn and a victoria sponge cake with jam and cream waiting int he fridge for me.THEN SLEEP.

Thunder storms on the way down south here! EEK!

goldenoldie · 28/06/2005 16:27

Thomcat - lucky you getting offered a seat all the time - wish it was me.

Sweet - def a first tri thing for me too!
