Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

hi anchovies - nice to see you again! Hope you're feeling ok.

any tips on cheaper E3s?

anchovies · 19/08/2005 20:06

Afraid not dhw, i bought ours from kiddicare for £300 a while back with doubles kit and 2 raincovers, think it's more expensive now?

RosiePosie · 19/08/2005 20:21

Sorry, dhw, I was just very lucky and saw one advertised on another site - unbelievably she was on the island too ( isle of wight ) so I saved on the courier cost as well. I would say though, that although they are expensive they're resale value is phenomenal - one went on eBay last week for £311 - you can buy them new with the doubles kit for £375. So atleast you know you can sell it on and get most of your money back. I paid £250 for an 18 month old one, btw.

Anchovies, good to see you back - how are things with the pg? Have you had a 12 week scan?

anchovies · 19/08/2005 20:27

I think you can get them for £340 from kiddicare with the doubles kit and a double raincover. Yours was a bargain rosieposie - good find!

Haven't had a 12 week scan, we get them at 14 and 20 weeks here, 2 weeks to go! Still feeling (and being!) very sick which I am strangely pleased about! Glad your scan went well rosieposie, can't wait to see a real baby shape rather than a 7 week flashing blob like on my last scan!

RosiePosie · 19/08/2005 20:34

Still feeling pretty queasy here too, but tonnes better than I was, thank goodness.

My E3 came with a single and double raincover and the newborn cocoon - such a lucky find! I guess I'll get a couple of months use out of the cocoon in March/April atleast.

I'm away for the next few days - up to Worcester to see my Dad. We're doing a four hour taxi/ferry/bus/train/other train/car journey with our luggage and a four yr old and 21 month old. . . . .YIKES!! I'll catch up when I get back xx

toothyboy · 19/08/2005 20:57

Hi everyone - glad you all seem to be in good spirits! I was planning to announce my pg at work today - but the boss didn't come in and I really need to tell him before I tell the rest of the team, so couldn't tell anyone! Then we went out for tea with the in-laws, and were supposed to be telling them, but they'd already been seated right next to another table when we got there and the restaurant was really quiet so I didn't want to announce it with an audience!! Oh well, next week maybe at work, and will prob tell the family after my scan on Tuesday! Can't believe I lasted this long without telling!

Just thinking, shall we share where we'll be giving birth in case any of us are in the same hospital at the same time? Or do people prefer their anonymity? I don't mind - I'll be at St Peter's in Chertsey.

oldfool · 20/08/2005 09:57

munz, you have your scan the same day as mine

No more bleeding (fingers crossed) but the aches and pains continue. My only symptom remains the enormous sore boobs. Every morning I'm poking myself to make sure they still hurt, because without that there is no change. I don't remember it taking this long to get to 12+ weeks before! It's just so odd that I'm not feeling/being sick because I was with all the others all the way through.

catj · 21/08/2005 12:29

Hiya!
Just to let you know I'm still about. Had PC problems so by the time it was fixed I had about 300 messages to read My scan's booked
for 7th Sept so not long to find out if it is just one this time! Got worried cos I thought sickiness was subsiding but it has reared its ugly head again!

coppertop · 21/08/2005 12:37

Keeping fingers crossed for you, OF. xxx

I've just caught up with all the posts from last week and I'm PMSL at you lot with yourdreams descriptions! No saucy dreams here, I'm afraid.

My booking-in appointment is on Tuesday (fingers-crossed!). I'll have to take ds1 (5) and ds2 (2.6) with me so it should be interesting to see what my first BP reading will be. With ds2 I had to have an early induction at 38 weeks because of his estimated size (turned out to be 9lbs) so it's quite likely that the same may happen again this time around. Eeek!

I'm still feeling very sick. I've been craving salads and fruit for probably the first time ever so my jeans are actually getting looser. My bump seems to be growing by the minute. It's a good thing I didn't wait until 12 weeks to tell everyone the news. I think it would have been very obvious by then. I'm only 9wks+3days.

desperatehousewife · 21/08/2005 20:00

Just been out for a pizza express pizza and caught sight of myself in a full lenght mirror in the loos and I look 6 months pregnant - no lie. It's a disgrace! I am petrified to think what I could look like in 3 months time. OMG

Frizbe · 21/08/2005 21:25

mmmm Pizza, did you have to say that!

Munz I had to pay £4.00 this time for a scan pic! so 3 is cheap!!

Glad your all ok, not much to report here had lovely weekend away camping and now back to reality....ho hum, roll on the bank holiday!
Sickness and heaving seems to have finally passed over the weekend, fingers x'd it stays this way!

oldfool · 22/08/2005 11:44

Bleeding started again Sat and has carried on. Odd thing is that it is there when I wipe myself but doesn't go through to my underwear (sorry if TMI). Went to a and e this morning. Pg test still +ve. They made me an appt for a scan and check tomorrow but we are supposed to be going on hol today. DH and I discussed it and decided to go away anyway. Will have to cancel appt. If things get bad I will have to go to a and e where we are staying as it's in UK. If it's ok it will still be ok. If it isn't then waiting another day for a scan really isn't going to help. I would feel happier having had one but it's only a 5 night holiday to start with so to miss a whole day.

munz · 22/08/2005 13:46

right then roughly caught up - thank god the PIL have gone - and u know what the MIL said yesterday - that reusable nappies were to much hard work etc and i'd never stick to it - u know now i'll bloody do it on principal she said I can't but all the same. Well last night had yet another er erotic dream involving sting! althou I must say ahem he was v good in all areas! lol, don't know where sting came from but ahem well I woke up not wanting to finish the dream! lol.

OF - not listen young lady! (wagging finger now!) u take things easy on this holiday of urs. fingers crossed the bleeding stops, is it still brown/bright red? my sickness comes and goes as well - at the minute it's on an off phase which i'm enjoying.

Friz - £4 is a rip off really isn't it esp as we all want at least one pic of our beans!

DHW - pizza hut u went and didn't ask us! how rude. what did u have - a stuffed crush - hmmmm,

CT - i've been craving grapes funnyily enough and also cuecumber - everything with cue just lately - still least it's good for u and beanie.

Catj - Glad u're doing OK honney.

anchovies - YEAH!!! welcome back hon, hope you're doing ok as well.

SF - don't forget to well cook those eggs MRS! - u know the first thing i'm gonna have once this baby's born is a nice soft runny egg and soldiers to dip in it, and a twister ice cream!

marne · 22/08/2005 15:02

Hi all,
glad to here you are well. AS some of you may have seen on my other thred i had another bleed on friday and again on sat but all seems to be ok, still feel very pg and sick, seen the doctor this morning and he seems to think all is ok and is sending me for another scan in a week or so. My hormones are all over the place and even found myself crying at the x factor on sat night (how sad), having loads of werd dreams about very sexy dark men.Time seems to be going so slow, cant wait to look pg instead of just fat.

expressmummy · 22/08/2005 18:22

newgirl · 22/08/2005 19:00

Hi there

Hope all is well OF. Toothy boy - I'm going to have a pain-free 5 minute delivery watching the telly but if that doesn't work out then Welwyn Garden City for me.

Why o why don't I crave salad and fruit? My latest craving is blue cheese - ooh that would be sooo tasty.

anchovies · 22/08/2005 22:04

Hey everyone

Glad everyone's doing ok, hope you're having a good break oldfool. Marne glad to hear things have calmed down again! Oh and hope the sting fantasy has disappeared munz - found the image of you and him sharing a stuffed crust by candlelight quite frightening!

Saw an old friend in tesco today who asked when I'm due she just looked confused when I said next march! Worse as well cos I had a trolley full of pork pies and ice cream!

Are we going to have a new thread soon? This one is enormous!

Hope everyone is well xx

Hi, sounds like everyone is settling into the routine of being preg - sickness settling down? I've felt grim for last two weeks - really wiped out. Well that'll teach me for not having proper sickness throughout last 11 weeks!

Can't wait for my scan next Tuesday. Taking DS with me so assuming all is well with scan, will tell him there and then what's happening! Yikes - don't know what he'll think!

No saucy dreams for me last night - just dreamt about maternity shopping for bras! QUite apt really, cos my whopping norks are starting to sqeeze over my bras (currently wearing sports bras to try and contain all the boob!). How many times did you have to buy new bras when preg? I can't remember...don't know if it's worth holding off until I have 4 boobs to get a new bra or not!

Lizzylou · 23/08/2005 08:25

HI all

Have just got back from my best friends wedding in a Scottish castle...v lovely and posh! And a free bar! Well, I suppose Orange juice and lemonade is expensive normally!!! I was a bridesmaid and wore a chocolate/minky brown two piece with fitted bodice, thing is, in between the fitting (only 1 week before the wedding!) my boobs grew even more, so I was so squeezed in, with boob spillage comingout the top! I cannot tell you the relief to get out of it at the end of the day!
Suddenly I am regretting wishing for sore boobs....they are killing me!!!!! Feeling lots better now but having just caught up on this thread think I now want a pizza!!!! Is 8.30am too
early???
Glad everyone is Ok........
xxx

munz · 23/08/2005 09:41

LL - glad u had a good time at the wedding. and no 8.30's not to early for pizza.

DHW - are you wearing a bra at night at all? i'm htinkin I might need to soon but wasn't sure on the timing of it all.

anchovies - well yes sadly that one has, now i'm onto a chap called arron eckhert (sp) I think it is his surname - hmmm yummy, no pizza just a nice candle lit supper a log fire and a fur rug - ooh should stop this talk!

still not put any weight on althou MIL told me on sunday that our scales are out by about half a stone - nearly kissed her, makes me 10 stone not 10.5! yay!! tum's looking a bit more saggyier thou

Lizzylou · 23/08/2005 09:49

Munz, I wore a bra (M&S maternitybra, v soft bra, come in packs of 2 and are v comfy)every night through last pregnancy and also now with this....hoping it will prevent the sagging as much as possible!

munz · 23/08/2005 09:56

oh thanks LL - mine are getting so heavy when I turn over it wakes me up cos they hurt think it's time for a bra!

Lizzylou · 23/08/2005 10:01

Just wait until you are 8mths gone and your DH can't fit in the bed cos of the size of your boobs!!!!
I got the nursing type ones so I could use them after the birth too...they are really good value and the comfiest I have tried....

Lizzylou · 23/08/2005 10:06

Munz, just seen on another thread that your best friend lives in Redditch...thats where I'm from originally! Not lived there for about 10 years, but my family is all there.......

desperatehousewife · 23/08/2005 10:20

a bra at night !! Never done that - should I? Don't like the idea at all. I've got 40dds anyway so am used to big slopping puppies flopping around in bed! Is it right that you shoudn't wear underwired when preg? Why is that? Think mine would be round my ankles without underwiring!
