Well found out this morning that I am pg!! 3 weeks and 4 days so pretty early days yet though!

Been trying for a fair while but first month using OPKs so would highly recommend them.

Will introduce myself anyway - dh and I both 26 with a 17 month old ds. Am so excited to be pg again even though it was a bit of a rough ride last time around!

Went to the loo at 3pm and there was brown blood. There's been nothing since but the pains I have had all along have been there pretty much constantly since yesterday. I did rather overdo things at dance class last night so I thought that had caused the pain. It's a dull ache rather than cramps but it's still worrying. All the advice now seems to be contact midwife immediately but there doesn't seem much point because it will either stop or get worse?

If it still feels dodgy tomorrow I will ring her. Will she do anything, do you think?

(Boobs still very painful, which has got to be a good sign?)

desperatehousewife · 18/08/2005 07:28

OF - how are you feeling today? It's really worrying isn't it? How many weeks are you now? I felt the same - it's going to go one way or the other - but then I couldn't not know, so contacted my doc and eventually got myself an early scan which really really reassured me. Dont' spend days fretting - it's no good for you. But dance class - what sort of dancing?! Take it easy and don't do too much - probably was that.

Take care
x

RosiePosie · 18/08/2005 08:02

Take it easy, oldfool - will be thinking of you.

Well, last night's dream featured Ricky Gervais and bondage... I'll say no more.

I have my 12 week scan this afternoon, which I am slightly less apprehensive about since I've been listening to the heartbeat. Atleast I know there is something in there.

Also, collecting my Phil and Ted's today - I know it's early days to be buying a double pushchair, but the lady selling it to me is on holiday on the isle of wight (where I live) - so collecting it from her now makes sense. And of course, I can use it as a single for the time being - I get very excited about new pushchairs and stuff, sad I know!

Jackstini · 18/08/2005 08:07

RP - Ricky Gervais!!! and I thought the wiggles were bad... Why can't we dream about some nice men for a change. Good luck for this afternoon.

OF - hope you are feeling better this morning - let us know

Had anoth preg brain incident last night. Just told my friend I was too tired to go swimming, got undressed and was in the bath when my Dad called asking if it was ok if he picked me up 15 mins early. Had completely forgotton was going out to dinner with my uncle. I am seriously losing the plot here

desperatehousewife · 18/08/2005 08:52

Rosie - very jealous of the phil and teds pushchair - is it the one where the baby lies underneath? I think they are fab. How old is your other child?

Mine is 3, will be not far off 4 when the baby is born and I'm not sure what to do about buggy situation. I guess he's old enough to walk everywhere or just go on a buggy board. But the buggy is more of a safety net for me - I still take it everywhere - so if he plays up I can strap him in and make him sit somewhere quietly on his own until he's calmed down. Or if wer'e out all day and he needs to crash for a bit.
Hmmm....not sure what to do.

desperatehousewife · 18/08/2005 08:52

Oh, and ordering the erotic dream worked. Except I dreamed about my husband - which actually was quite nice. Very saucy - which is a good thing, cos it aint happening in real life at the moment!!

RosiePosie · 18/08/2005 09:10

Yes, it's the double decker one that can be used as a single too. Got it for a bargain price too - which is why I'm buying it so early. My dd is 21 months now - will be 2yrs 4 months when the baby is born. The gap between my first two is nearly 3yrs and I didn't get a double buggy to begin with, but regretted it and got one shortly afterwards. We only used it for a few months - he was walking reliably by the time he was about 3 and a half(ie. not running into the road). Mind you, he's four and half now and I still avoid taking them both shopping with me!

munz · 18/08/2005 09:53

StarryEyed · 18/08/2005 10:12

Hi ya girls

Became really paranoid about how big I was getting (someone gave me a seat on the tube the other day and managed to get a scan in the EPU this morning. Everything is fine thank god and there is only one baby in there. It waived a stubby hand at me which was so sweet. I am sooo relieved that everything is fine. Didn't sleep a wink last night and feeling really horrible today as a result. Still feeling quite sick which is a good sign I suppose. My gestational due date is now 11 March 2006 as opposed to LMP date 8 March 2006. My DD was due on 11 March 2003 but arrived two weeks late. What a coincidence huh!

Hope all of you are well and good luck to anyone having scans. My 12 week nuchal scan is on 23 Aug. Will report back .

oldfool · 18/08/2005 11:25

No more blood since that one time, but every time I go to the loo I'm scared I'm going to find more. Doesn't help when you feel permanently damp, does it. Rang mw this morning. She said as it was old blood and the pains have stopped, not to worry. (easily said, eh?). Said they won't scan unless there's new blood. Trouble is I've got to the point where I can't tell whether the pain is there or not, as it always seems to be in the background (I get IBS, so it is probably that rather than gynae).

I know this pg was an accident and we were really shocked but this far in I was rather hoping to get a baby at the end. Another 2 weeks till the scan.

munz · 18/08/2005 11:41

of - i'm sure everything will be fine for u (easy for me to say I know) try to rest up and relax. fiwi I've also had ahem 'damn and wet' CM since AF was due 7 weeks ago. so hope that helps to reassure u some what that it seems to be ok.

(((hugs)))

SE - glad everything went well for u hon, - yay another 11th march person!

RosiePosie · 18/08/2005 17:00

Hi everyone,

all okay with my scan - I'm officially 12 weeks 4 days, which kinda means I should be on the feb thread - but seeing as my two others were both 8 days late I think I'll hang around here, if you don't mind! Lovely to see a fully formed little baby in there and the risk of Downs is 1 in 2800, so pretty happy here this afternoon. Hang on in there everybody, this 12 weeks has come around very quickly - I hope every one is okay. xx

desperatehousewife · 18/08/2005 17:28

fab news Rosieposie,

I think these 12 weeks are going painfully slowly....hope the whole pregnancy doesn't go this slowly!

I have another week and a half to wait before my 12 week scan....aaaaargh!

Still don't really know what I fancy to eat at all - eating the same stuff every day - needing carbs big time (in the form of granary toast!)...toast for brekkie, beans on toast for lunch, toast in the afternoon sometimes, and cereal and toast for supper, or pizza!

Got my delivery of mail order maternity clothes today....very very excited. Ordered 4 things from Isabella Oliver (not cheap, but really nice and decided I wasn't going to buy loads of tat this time round, just a few good items).

What to do about winter boots....just bought my ideal pair, chocolate brown suede long flat boots. My feet went from a size 6 to a size 7 last pregnancy and never went back to their original size (had to car boot all my shoes....sob) and i'm sure my calves got bigger - although it was a mid summer baby so I was hot and bloated!

Anyway, sorry girls, I'm rambling like a bonkers woman - what shall I do - take the boots back and wait until preg is advanced to see if feel/legs swell or take a risk?

Frizbe · 18/08/2005 20:36

RosiePosie our kids will have the same age gap! dd also 2.4yrs by time new one due!! we can exchange notes on how much they hate the new sibling...(fingers x'd they don't but terrible two's n all that) Think I'm jealous of the E3 as well! although is there anywhere left to put your shopping?

Old Fool hope things are ok {{hugs}} sure they'll be fine if MW isn't that concerned.

Starry Eyed glad the scan was ok.

Well I keep wretching like a trooper today, heaved at the smell of our bin, the cat, cat food, in the middle of coop for no reason....the list goes on....needless to say, I'm not having too much fun, also had horrible crampy feelings earlier this evening, although these have eased off now, think must be things growing....also dd has lost wupwup, but that's another thread entirely!

marne · 18/08/2005 20:42

Hi all,
Morning sickness has almost gone, i am 10 weeks today. Hope you are all well, i seem to be puting on weight, starting to look pg. Times going so slow.

Chamomile · 18/08/2005 20:51

I had my booking yesterday so I feel official now!
Bit worried that mw couldn't hear anything with doppler yet at 11 wks. She wasn't concerned and said it was just too early but I've got 2 wks to wait for my scan and a strong heartbeat would have helped a lot.

munz · 18/08/2005 21:45

just a quick one girls got my scan thru 31st aug, so 13 days to go hoping it will fly by we have to pay £3 per pic !

more tomorrow!

newgirl · 19/08/2005 09:14

DHW I ordered a top from Isabella Oliver and it is lovely. Its waiting to be worn in a month or two. I got a lovely top and skirt in formes sale as well thinking ahead - they are wintery colours. I think the thing with the boots is are they really comfy now or a bit snug - if they are a bit snug then they may not be brilliant. Also were they expensive? If not too bad then keep them and see how it goes - they may not be your everyday boots but if you love them then Im sure you will wear them. If really expensive, ie you won't buy another pair then maybe return them and buy some in say November? I am going to buy some but there wasn't much choice yet so I am sure there will be loads out soon.

swiperfox · 19/08/2005 09:38

Blimey Munz 3.00 per pic??!! THats a bit ott isn't it?

Things here are ok. I think i'm still in denial a bit! Haven't been to the doc yet - can't do it Still feeling very sick and going through a range of cravings that change from day to day but once I get something I have to have it! At the moment it's scrambled eggs on toast with lots of butter - something that would normally make me feel ill!! I'm also drinking 1-2litres of orange juice a day!
I can't bear to have anything across my tummy at the mo and can really feel it in there if that makes sense!?

Ooh - another vote for the rude dreams too!! My first one was Cat Stevens, then one about a racing driver who looked like the Chelsea manager (forgotten his name and can't stand him in RL so that was a wierd one!)

Good to see everyone doing well

StarryEyed · 19/08/2005 10:53

I am booked in at St George's Tooting and they charge £3 a pic as well!

RosiePosie · 19/08/2005 12:34

Mine was free - I was surprised though.

munz · 19/08/2005 17:00

just quick b4 I leave for home cadmum's emailed me, she's ok had a bad sicky bug thingy but she's doing OK, hopefully back soon once she's got a bit more time, but main thing is her and bean are ok.

RosiePosie · 19/08/2005 17:36

That's great news about Cadmum, munz. Thanks for letting us know.

desperatehousewife · 19/08/2005 19:46

Rosie - any advice on getting a cheaper Bill & Teds?

anchovies · 19/08/2005 19:52

Hi everyone

Have been missing for a while but have finally reached the 12 week mark so have come out of hiding as am hoping this is me here for the duration!

Am glad everyone's having strange dreams, I gave birth to a very small hedgehog last night that I kept losing in the snow.

I've got an E3 too rosieposie, bought it when last pushchair was stolen with our car, must have been subconciously planning this pregnancy (or so I pretended to dh, I actually bought the doubles seat with it!)

Hope everyones well, haven't had chance to read through the millions of posts yet! Will start now!
