iggs spoke to my mum earlier. she had zero symptoms throughout both pregnancies. Just felt faint at one point in summer heat in early days with me. she wasn't joking when she said it was all a breeze...

CUNextTuesday · 22/11/2009 15:38

On the other hand I am no longer a person, just a walking collection of symptoms

But iggs - I felt broadly similar to you at your stage and was congratulating myself... Now 8+3. Comedy central symptom-wise.

Went to a golf club dinner dance last night FIL captain of golf club - his wife (hombre's stepmum) announced it during her little speech that they were expecting a new grandchild so there will be nothing allowed to go wrong from now until birth

skihorse · 22/11/2009 16:47

Egads cunty - no wonder you look so "rabbit in the headlights" in the photos at the Golf do. 60 pairs of eyes on you would've meant you couldn't even hit the bar.

Jailbait's mum knows but I'm not telling anyone now, not even the midwives.

CurlyCasper · 22/11/2009 16:48

shit cunty sounds nightmare-ish. Did you go and kick her in the shins?

CUNextTuesday · 22/11/2009 16:55

She's only titchy, but she's quite formidable so I didn't dare

givecarrotsachance · 22/11/2009 19:54

Cripes, cunty I assume you'd not had a chance to veto that then? I've told two friends, my brother and my parents, and YOB's told his mum, sister and SIL. The two friends I've told are those I know will support me if it's all going horribly wrong and we decide not to continue. I decided that I didn't want to phone them up and say I was pregnant but bad stuff happened and they both agreed.

Anyway, I'm sounding negative but feeling positive. Bit more tired than normal I think but still getting the odd night waking from LC so that doesn't help at all. MS not too bad - just feeling sicky after eating but otherwise mostly fine. Very burpy and still getting a few wombly cramps but no bleeding so I'm pretty ok with that.

casper very glad your tummy is improving. You're probably knackered coz of having to deal with that on top of everything else. Hope you're feeling better soon.

MS - I have found thee.

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 08:07

ski you're asking the wrong woman, as I have no such adrenaline-filled fun in my life anyway, being a crip and all that.

Today I feel sick with worry. Still itching all over and have hardly slept as a result. I'm considering telling my bosses why I am so shite at the moment...

skihorse · 23/11/2009 08:17

Curly OK, there's one for you then in the Pregnancy section - "will you be getting rid of your dog?" Alternatively, will you be giving up dog-walking due to the risks?

In my books pregnancy excema seems quite normal - so maybe your hormones are just going in overdrive.

Thankfully I'm not actually puking, but I feel like I tanned a bottle of hard stuff last night - you know, my stomach is threatening bad stuff.

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 08:28

I keep thinking I'm going to have the pukes, but turns out to be burps.

TBH I think the skin infection is rearing its head again now I've been off anti-biotics for a few days. seeing GP on thurs so will have a whinge. At the same time, have itchy belly - nothing on it, excema-like or otherwise, so thought it could be due to stretching, but I reckon it's a bit early for that!

Dog - not planning to get rid of her but we have started to be more strict. she's banned from the sofa already (and not liking it)
Walks could be difficult as time goes by, cause she's a bit of a psycho, but we'll just deal with it as it happens. She's quite protective of me and I think that will only get worse.

Been trying to picture walking her beside buggy/pram. could be interesting. If she fucks off, I can hardly give chase and leave the baby behind! She's still got plenty of training to be done, but if there are problems I guess we'll take turns at staying home with bubs and doing the walks.

Might venture on to thread later - but fear I'll be condemned...

skihorse · 23/11/2009 08:32

My mum used to cover literally miles and miles of Perthshire chasing a naughty boy lab with me in the pram.

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 08:38

thread is lovely actually - so have said my bit!

skihorse · 23/11/2009 08:49

Yes I thought it was a lovely thread too - and I loved the lady who said her child kisses the dog goodnight every night too. I think the big, old dog is going to make a terrific "responsible watcher" and the little one is going to have a partner in crime. Jailbait and I have talked about this a lot and think the baby is going to be really lucky to have a "best mate" from day one. They both love kids, but for different reasons:

i) Big dog picked up on the fact that children regularly carry food which they drop...
ii) Little dog just about piddles herself with excitement every time she sees little people and they in turn squeal "hontje, hontje" when they see her! (slang for little dog)

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 08:54

ours is defo like your little dog ski think excitement will grow when she discovers food on baby's face/hands/belly...

skihorse · 23/11/2009 08:56

We were watching some Ryan Reynolds (I think?) film the other week and there were loads of mashed up film clips in it. One of them involved a toddler leaning against a desk and smiling with glee as the dog licked its pooey bumhole. We looked at each other and our hearts dropped as we realised we'd just glimpsed one horrible day in the future.

Yes... I won't have to carry wet-wipes to clean the baby's face!

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 08:57

Shock Grin

iggypiggy · 23/11/2009 09:46

Thanks girls re: my menkulism.

I is ok actually - not looking beyond the first scan - but there you go! Last time I kept telling myself that something could go wrong, but i didn't really think it would - so it was awful shock as nothing can prepare you for it - this time I am prepared for worst... so feel calmer - not sure makes sense...

I am trying to be cheery at the mo

cunty am well shocked at golf club announcement!!

ski there is no way I will ever give up riding - EVER - sure am going to stop for these first few weeks cos is risky time and I can't take the guilt after. but I might start again after that - and I def plan to ride again after July My great grandmother was killed getting off a tram! Is not like you can avoid all risks in life..

curly my dog loves children muchly... but we is also getting a puppy in the new year - which could be considered menkul - but i is not cancelling anything cos who knows what will happen!

skihorse · 23/11/2009 09:49

iggy It's actually worse than I described, I neglected to mention that the fathers are also banned from these horrific life-endangering hobbies.

There was no mention of whether they'd revoked their cars or not...

iggypiggy · 23/11/2009 09:50

That is fucking mental ski

skihorse · 23/11/2009 09:55

iggy Are you sure your fella can be trusted with his Oyster card? Won't somebody think of the children?

iggypiggy · 23/11/2009 10:03

you're right - I'm confiscating it now!

I was watching a home vid of me and my sisters when we were about 8, 6 and 3 and my parents are videoing us driving a little red plastic pedal car down a hill, with all of us squeezed in - we stop at the bottom about 2ft shy of a 3ft drop onto concrete - love the H&S those days

skihorse · 23/11/2009 10:04

I've been up since 3am... Got up, paced around, had a bowl of cereal - approx 20 minutes later my stomach roared with hunger. Went back to bed at 5:15, got up at 6. Felt nauseus. Got to work, had breakfast, feel nauseous, tired and like a big fucking baby.

I'm freezing cold and jailbait says I'm as hot as the sun and he keeps throwing my limbs off him and accusing me of placing hot water bottles on him when he's sleeping.

skihorse · 23/11/2009 10:05

iggy Had the three of you fallen over the drop your mum would've "dusted" the dirt off with a slap and told you to stop snivelling. aaaaah, the 70s!

iggypiggy · 23/11/2009 10:09

Ski I am doing the hot / cold thing too - I usually feel freezing after dinner (nose and toes freezing - have to get blanket) - then am burning hot...

True - we prob wouldn't have hurt ourselves much

CurlyCasper · 23/11/2009 10:14

bloody freezing until I do the slightest activity, then sweltering. iggy you are indeed suffering like the PESHt of us
