Ha. Yeah. Well I lost that when I met YOB, as he doesn't drink so I stopped - not sharing a bottle of wine is no fun. .

I find eating 24/7 helps.

Because I'm not a drinker I'm not losing these booze calories.

Has anyone else struggled with people exhibiting a total sense of humour bypass? One of my dearest friends has lived a "colourful life" - I emailed him to say I'd cut right back on the smack and booze. He took that comment at face value and has given me a lecture on drinking during diffedness, oddly enough - no commnet on the smack.

Same at stables last night, YO's sister is diffed and hasn't given up the fags, I said I'd knocked those on the head but the cocaine was proving hard. Everyone was quiet, so I had to say "not really, obviously I can't afford cocaine". I think they think I'm a junkie tsk!

I really feel in limbo atm. I feel like something ought to be happening, but it?s not! My sense of smell is a bit more sensitive, but that?s it. Not tired, not sick, not weepy, not nothing.

Most odd.

Anyway, just wondered when you all rang your gp and all that shizzle?

TwinkleToes76 · 16/12/2009 09:34

Hi Cosmo . Same here with the in limbo feeling, only felt a little queasy once, but it was probably more to do with the amount of food I had just consumed.

I rang my GP pretty much straightaway but only because it takes an age to get an appointment and then an age for them to refer you to the hospital. You are meant to have your first booking-in appointment with a midwife when you are about 8-10 weeks pregnant. Very little happens at your GP appointment so you might want to by-pass them and self refer to the maternity hospital you want to go to - look on their website, it will tell you how to do it.

skihorse · 16/12/2009 09:38

Oh yes, we were all confident at first - according to this thread my nausea kicked in 1 week after my BFP. Or you might be a lucky caaaah like rots and iggy and escape with barely a whimper.

No droid + big tits is positive though!

According to my records I contacted my midwife team 2 days after my BFP. Of course that's not UK - this lot can help you there.

iggypiggy · 16/12/2009 10:03

cossie I def didn't feel much till 6 weeks... and even though i will concede that I prob haven't suffered the most (haven't actually been sick) - i have felt truly shocking on some days - like flu almost - and every morning I feel like am gonna vom until i eat something...

Not that am indulging in competetive symptoms - but it doesn't actually feel like I escaped with nothing

CurlyCasper · 16/12/2009 10:39

hello PESHies, reporting from my sick bed today. Caught a lovely virus from my nephew and spent moday having vicious diarhorrea and puking up every last drop of bile (TMI?), with each visit to the loo preceeded by a burning flush, and followed by lying on sofa/in bed shivering. Since "drying up" I've been in agony (all my body muscles), had killer head and ear ache and cannot spend much time vertical without thinking going to pass out. so i'm in bed on the laptop, which is about to conk out.. (Had to fly home in this state yesterday morning. Poor parents have it too, and Dad had to drive to airport - bless!

Since Sunday night I have eaten one slice of toast, one tiny fruit salad, and three slices of pizza (not the best idea). Perhaps I shall lose weight (looks on bright side)

Cos my GP gets you in at 7-8 weeks, and I had to go there first. Going straight to MW not allowed Delighted about your diff-ment.

Catch you all later, off to wail some more at SFF. (staying off public FB BTW because if work sees I'm capable of typing, sure they'll have plenty for me to do from here).

CurlyCasper · 16/12/2009 10:41

p.s yes, ski the dog is lying on the bed, draped across my feet. she's the best.

givecarrotsachance · 16/12/2009 10:59

Quicky catch-up before off to hopsital.

at sense of humour failure. I thought it was funny.

casper awww sounds terrible Really sorry to hear that. Hope it improves soon.

Also not being competitive (as clearly mine hasn't been as bad as most) but my day tends to be waking up feeling fairly rough, unsteady till lunchish and improves then, then comes back in evening. Usually is low-level nausea which sometimes increases to "I'm gonna be sick" feeling but I'm not. I was retching earlier in it all but now I know I'm not actually chucking, I manage to overcome that urge.

I've had plenty of really good days where the only symptoms other than a bit sicky from time to time are massive boobs and REALLY tired.

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 16/12/2009 11:01

The point being, cos, that you may well avoid the worst and it's normal for symptoms to come on bit by bit.

I would contact your GP surgery and ask to book in with the midwife which is the normal way in England, as I understand it (that's how I did it this time and last, and how both surgeries said to do it). Do it as soon as you like so you can get your maternity card (free dentist etc).

OP posts:
givecarrotsachance · 16/12/2009 11:01

Oh and then they will prioritise you for the SF jab if you want it.

OP posts:
TwinkleToes76 · 16/12/2009 12:27

That sounds vile Casper, hope you feel better soon.

CurlyCasper · 16/12/2009 12:39

thanks PESHies. Looks like it's norovirus - coming soon to a household near you thanks to rabid under-fives! Well, I guess that's something I'me going to have to get used to - catching all sorts from BabyCasper. Being up all night with pukey, pooey, piddly nephew, then trying to deal with him once he was better and all chirpy and I was feeling like shit was good practice for motherhood, I'm sure. Now worried about posting the Christmas cards I've just written - will I be sending my F&F a dose of the evil disease?

Cosmosis · 16/12/2009 16:19

So I rang the doc?s surgery to see what the drill is and before I know it I have an appointment with the mw at 2 on Wednesday.

Curls, hope you feel betterer soon.

CUNextTuesday · 16/12/2009 17:15

Had my booking appointment this afternoon - lots of health questions then a run down of don't-eat-this-don't-eat-that. I nodded and smiled, all the time thinking mmmm swordfish with creme fraiche lime and coconut... mmmm brussels pate on toast... mmmm deep fried camembert.

Apparently (ha!) even cooked blue/soft cheese is Not Allowed. Yeah, my painted arse.

Got scan next Wed

Cosmosis · 16/12/2009 17:32

ooh scan, cool!

iggypiggy · 16/12/2009 18:09

cunty that is nuts - the govt advice on the FSA site says you can have cooked blue/ soft cheese... if anyone says that to me I will ask why they contradict the gov't advice! Well nuts...

skihorse · 16/12/2009 18:09

cunty Mine is weds too! We will find out how many baybees we haz! Naturally I will update PESH/other place asap.

CUNextTuesday · 16/12/2009 20:50

I only have one - as confirmed in the 7 week scan. And rightly so.

skihorse · 17/12/2009 09:29

Nom nom, just had a slice of Parma ham with work's continental breakfast, it seemed rude not to. I also had two enormous cheese-filled croissants... eating for two innit.

Oh so me and Cosmosis are the only ones who don't know how many baybees we've got?

Cosmosis · 17/12/2009 10:35

I don't have a baybee I iz got a blob.

iggypiggy · 17/12/2009 10:39

iggypiggy · 17/12/2009 10:40

Actually - can you of you please haz twins?

iggypiggy · 17/12/2009 10:40

Cosmosis · 17/12/2009 10:49
