I have gone off tea and chocolate

givecarrotsachance · 14/12/2009 11:20

There you go Iggy. That's a DEF DIFF sign. So take that as a good thing, even though off choccie is clearly and appreciate that you're not feeling sick as poor ski

iggypiggy · 14/12/2009 11:26

Thanks rots I know I iz silly about the worry when the signs go - but cos that is what happened when I had the babyfail, I think I am over-reacty

givecarrotsachance · 14/12/2009 11:51

I don't think you're being silly at all, iggs. Certainly goes through my mind and I've not been through what you have. I keep thinking that I don't feel sick enough which is stupid as I almost didn't feel sick at all with LC (like, something like 3 separate 5 minute periods of feeling sicky with LC) and actually didn't worry about it (had other things to worry about of course!). So I'm holding on to the symptoms I have and that's ok.

Um hello.

iggypiggy · 14/12/2009 12:28

OMG is the deli a breeding ground for bacteria???!!!!!

We're all gonna die...

givecarrotsachance · 14/12/2009 12:41

Hey hey cosmo!!!

BUT how DARE you cast nasturtiums on the cleanliness of my deli. I'll have you know that I am a qualified restaurant and bar manager and what I don't know about hygiene isn't worth knowing.

Now admittedly, I've been a bit behind on the old scrubbing recently, just been a bit tired 'n' all, but it's not THAT bad. And a few cobwebs add atmosphere, what.

Cosmosis · 14/12/2009 13:41

I just fancied coming in and stirring up trouble is all

givecarrotsachance · 14/12/2009 13:57

Well I'm glad you now have full rights of access

skihorse · 14/12/2009 14:14

Oooh speaking of bacteria and all gonna die, I had some brie on saturday night and it was lovely. Still alive.

As for the dirt around here - we're PESHies which means the menfolk do the cleaning.

CUNextTuesday · 14/12/2009 19:59

Yey for Brie! Good girl. I just had a rare steak

And I cooked my own chips for the first time (and I don't mean I got them out the freezer and tossed them in the oven). Bought a deep fat fryer yesterday with a definite nod towards my new healthier lifestyle. Om nom nom - going to do battered fish next om nom nom nom nommy nom nom

CUNextTuesday · 14/12/2009 20:04

Also got an email from my first doula today (emailed 3). She sounds really lovely and does 2 AN visits, is there throughout the birth, and one PN visit for £450. Sounds like the best value for money I've ever heard, and I'm totally sold on the idea. Hom coming round to the idea too the more I enthuse. I just hope he can sustain it when it's time to cough up lol

skihorse · 15/12/2009 07:06

haha cunty Yes, that's right - at a time when we're all caring more about nutrition than ever before, our cunty goes out and buys a state-of-the-art deep-fat fryer and some curry ketchup! I can't slag you though, I've taken quite a fancy to frozen lasagnes!

Interesting about the doula... does hom think she's going to be waving joss-sticks and doing incantations and undermining his manhood or something?

I'm now worrying about a homebirth and wondering if I should just check in to hospital at ~week 26 and get put in a medically induced coma until my c-section at 38 weeks.

iggypiggy · 15/12/2009 09:37

cunty am v. amused at the idea of a deep fat fryer = healthier lifestyle

But love homemade chips from scratch - I do them in oven tho (par boil for a few mins first) - with olive oil and salt and rosemary... now feeling hungry...

cunty are you having homebirth? Or just doula in hosp with you?

I did have blue cheese on Sat - but it was cooked - so doesn't count as rule breaking...

givecarrotsachance · 15/12/2009 09:52

Did anyone watch Amanda Holden learning to be a midwife last night?

YOB was a bit shocked, I think - but I was more! Decided I don't want to go through with it now!!

A friend has offered her birthing pool so we were measuring up for it in the bedroom last night, which seems the best room as it's got plenty of space, with an en-suite and the family bathroom just down the hall for filling it. It's also the furthest from the neighbours . However, I've not dared tell him that I'm also going for an elective section with a general.

You may be interested in this. Later on, if any of us go into what appears to be early labour, asking for this test would be an option.

Yeah but I have lost one whole stone since I got pregnant so I got to eat what I fancy innit. And I fancied home made chips and I now fancy deep fried haddock. Or camembert! yes! camembert with spicy tomato chutney

Not going to have home birth - would like to but am only 5 mins from hospital and I quite like the idea of the mw led unit. Cosy, warm, relaxed, comfortable, all the equipment but none of the medical stuff. And also there would be the dilemma of what to do with the step-kinder (21 & 18). Should they be involved so that I can gross them out and make them uncomfortable with my nakedness. Or do we send them out for the night with a tenner each, which equally doesn't seem very fair. Or they can stand outside smoking endless fags like a dad to be which is a) bad for them, and b) doesn't look good in front of the neighbours.

So on balance, I think mw led unit will do nicely

skihorse · 15/12/2009 11:57

Cunty I'll be round about half six please to eat dinner with you? I'll bring liquers.

I had an op at your hospital cunty and had to go back to get the dressings changed at out patients - they were very generous with the NO2.

I hadn't realised you were with children at home... for me I want to be able to walk around naked in my own house... open the fridge door to seek inspiration, have a bath, moan about the utility room etc., etc.

Btw, as for you losing a stone that's just showing off, I've only lost a few marbles.

skihorse · 15/12/2009 11:58

I lived at number 91 (I think) of the road that the hospital is on. Ding-dong!

givecarrotsachance · 15/12/2009 12:23

@ cunty but then I really don't you the sickness so, swings and roundabouts.

Agree totally re step-children. On the other hand, it would teach them to use contraception . I think the MW unit is a great idea. We're going to take a look at ours, just in case the house sells (huh) and any place we rent while we look for our perfect abode isn't suitable for a HB. We're planning on farming CS out to YOB's mum who is local, and if that doesn't work, YOB's SIL who is not so local but owes YOB about 3 lifetimes of babysitting.

While all credit to those who want their LOs around to enjoy the moment, there is No Way I want LC around. He'd just be traumatised!

Oh I haven't been sick Just full up quicker so eating less. I'm not concerned that this situation will persist

givecarrotsachance · 15/12/2009 13:16

Didn't you throw up in a side street somewhere???

OP posts:
CUNextTuesday · 15/12/2009 13:20

Once, in week 5 after having had coffee and a multi-vit first thing, either or both of which disagreed with me. Only dry heaving or a drop of stomach acid from then on. I don't now eat till 9.30 and only drink water, which I think has helped. I also don't eat masses like I used to cos I hate that bloated uncomfortable feeling that makes you think you should throw up just to make some room

iggypiggy · 15/12/2009 13:31

cunty I have to eat as soon as I wake up - just a piece of fruit - then I feel better... always feel v. sick in morning...

I don't eats lots now either - is odd.. but don't think i lost any weight... which I should have done purely by cutting out the caloris from the booze!

CUNextTuesday · 15/12/2009 13:40

Actually you're right - that prob has something to do with it too!
