Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

3k, i get really bad constipation in the first 3 months, my gp puts me on lactulose which is perfectly safe and does work, but not too much!

3k · 24/06/2005 22:03

Hi Spacecadet, I will ask MW on Monday, it is awlful somedays and then others I dont seem to notice. Can your MW prescribe stuff or is it just the GP?

spacecadet · 24/06/2005 22:08

you have to get the gp to prescribe it or the mw will ask the gp on your behalf, dont try taking any over the counter remedies btw as they can be a bit fierce!(and could be harmful)in the meantime, if you can stomache it, try some prunes!!(cherries can help to, also melon) and drink plenty of orange juice..god sound like a blimin text book dont i ??!!!!!

3k · 24/06/2005 23:06

I have something about cherries at the moment so hopefully that will help. Ta for the advice, I will speak to MW first before taking anything, I've been a bit paranoid even taking a few paracetamol!!! It's all a bit strange but exciting too.

Going to join this thread now. Got a BFP earlier this evening. Head is in a turn. From my dates, I work out that the baby is due on March 1st, but will be delivered 2 weeks early approx 14th/15th February. Didn't think anything would happen so quickly, don't really know what to think. XxX

TicTac · 25/06/2005 10:06

welcome angerdmarche and congratulations. Why will you be delivered early?

COnstipation - I go for a couple of days with nothing, feel really bloated and sore then over the next day it starts to happen. I was drinking fresh orange to help which did work but I have gone off it now!

angedemarche · 25/06/2005 10:12

going for an elective section. XxX

colinsmommy · 25/06/2005 17:40

Spacecadet--Thanks so much for posting to us on the August thread. I was thinking about you and others and it is so nice to see you on another antenatal club thread. I crashed your thread in case you weren't looking at ours anymore.

Twiga · 25/06/2005 18:04

Just to let you know, Popadopolis has been admitted to hospital following a couple of days really bad morning sickness. She and the baby are both fine - good heartbeat on the scan - but she is dehydrated so they've got her on a drip and keeping her in for tonight at least. Pops and her dh are both Christian's and would really appreciate your prayers at this time. Thanks, Twiga x x x

LexyB · 25/06/2005 19:42

can't believe how big this thread is getting. Is anyone organised to do stats.

Spacecadet so glad to see you on here. Seen your name on the babies born in July / August thread and i we both have teenagers so not just me with a big age range of children.

Had a bit of a scare yesterday when someone went in the back of me in my car, but I know the baby is well protected but it still shook me up.

Thinking of pops.

spacecadet · 25/06/2005 19:50

gosh hope you are ok lexyb, dont worry about your little bean it will be fine tucked away in your pelvis hope you are ok though, was there much damage?
praying for pops, i suffer from hyperemesis too and have to be hospitilised when preg, i hope she feels a bit better after some fluids, poor thing, im still at the queasy stage but know the actual vomiting isnt far off

Frizbe · 25/06/2005 20:14

Oh Spacecadet you have my sympathies for the coming months, a friend of ours had this and could only keep down icecream for 9mths, she too was in and out of hospital {{{{Hugs}}}}

Pops, hope you feel lots better soon {{{Hugs}}}

Hi to angedmarche and congrats! nice to see you on here

3k, I was going to say prune juice! but I think scad beat me to it! I do remember someone telling me though that Fresh OJ can aggrivate constipation in pregnant women? anyone know any more?

flamesparrow · 25/06/2005 22:07

Huge hugs to all hyperemesis suffers... I had it with DD, and it terrifies me.
