Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

Morning girls and welcome to the newies.

Had my dating scan yesterday and saw a little heartbeat - hurrah and only one [phew]

The bean was a bit scrunched up so they had difficulty measuring, going on date of LMP, I reckon I was about 8+4, but they were initially measuring 7+6 but eventually got a 8+2. Thought I may have been later ovulating - which is also what I think as I am on this thread - I thought I was in the safe zone .

Got my CVS booked on Friday July 15th which means I won't get the inital result until the following Monday but it does mean that dp can 'look after' me for the weekend and not have to take any days of work.

Still having a few waves of nausea in the evening - but nothing compared to a couple of weeks ago.

I feel so much more secure now I have seen the heartbeat (but not counting my chickens IYKWIM)

Hope everyone is feeling O.K. and looking forward to a cooler weekend.

Morning girls - TFI Friday!

Hi & congrats to all the newbies - and those who are watching but don't feel ready to join yet

Good stuff Hotmama1...Only 3 sleeps til my early scan...getting a bit nervous now although I like hearing good tales from others as it makes it more positive.

Had my first little spew this morning whilst brushing my teeth (sorry if tmi!!) It has been coming for a while though...

Strange time this isn't it...feels like time is standing still.

Tabs · 24/06/2005 09:16

Oh that's a good way to think of teuch - 3 big sleeps til my early scan too (added the 'big' in case I have some little naps too!)!

Great to hear all is well with your beanie Hotmama - so 8+2 puts you 2 days ahead of me and therefore due on 1st Feb - yes?

hotmama1 · 24/06/2005 09:28

Tabs - my official due date at the moment is 1st Feb - by both the doc and the mw. However, I worked it out as the 29th Jan and this is the date that the computer worked out yesterday at the hospital.

I'll get another date when I go for my CVS as the bean will be bigger then - imagine it will still be Feb - and dd was 9 days late so if history repeats itself will be a Feb birth.

T & T - good luck for your scans next week

popadopalis · 24/06/2005 10:45

Hello can I join you? Just found out that I'm pregnant and due on Feb 8th (at the moment anyway!). I'm about eight weeks and feeling really sick and exhausted.

Tabs · 24/06/2005 11:11

Ooh - another newbie - how exciting! How on earth did you manage to resist testing until now?!

So welcome, and tell us a bit about yourself!

Morgan · 24/06/2005 12:01

Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies.

Have been feeling crap this week due to a cold but am much better today. My first scan is on 4 July as i am 5+2 at the mo - feel sick when i think about it as i had a bad scan experience with my ectopic in jan. I do feel tired and boobs are really heavy and sore. No sickness but i had none with ds either.

I have told a couple of friends so i have someone to talk to apart from here! but that will be all until at least after first scan and then we'll see. First time we told no-one until after 12 week scan but i'm not sure if i'll wait that long this time.

teuch · 24/06/2005 13:05

ooohh Tabs...didn't realise you had scan on Monday too! what time? I'm at high noon...

Anyone else having problems with bloating? I am off to H&M now to look at their maternity stuff (meant to be good and excellent value) since I don't want to buy bigger size trousers that I could be out of in a month!

Mama5 · 24/06/2005 13:24

Had my scan today and tiny kidney -bean was there with love heart fluttering away! Very relived and very tired ...going for a lie down!

Hey pops, nice to see you've finally braved an ante-natal thread!!! So excited that our little one will have a new pal ! Take care, lol x x x

All the best to everyone else, lots of good wishes from the due in Aug girls!

TicTac · 24/06/2005 15:04

Hi to all the new girls and I hope you find some comfort in the thread.
Mama5 really good news about your scan, you must be really relieved...enjoy your lie down!

Is anyone drinknign a lot of milk, it is one of the only things I can drink at the minute and I am not big on milk usually?

teuch · 24/06/2005 15:08

I'm the opposite tictac...can't really stomach milk at the mo, even eating cereal really dry!

on the other hand, i need everything to be sweet and fizzy! cream soda is the best so far although I am trying to stick to fizzy water. I don't think it is helping the wind very much but the thought of flat, diluted juice or water is bleeuuugh!!

teuch · 24/06/2005 15:10

also...is anyone else still getting dull, achy, 'stretching uterus' type discomfort?

I don't know how long I should expect to have this...

flamesparrow · 24/06/2005 15:11

Any of you ladies suffering from early sickness - try Nux Vom from the homeopathic section of boots. My friend swore by it.

teuch · 24/06/2005 15:15

thanks flamesparrow - I am sure it is okay to use during pg but my pharmacist wouldn't let me buy it without checking with my GP or MW first!

Haven't had a chance to ask yet so if anyone has confirmation, or if you friend was defo told it was ok, then let us know!

flamesparrow · 24/06/2005 15:19

Yup - definately ok.

spacecadet · 24/06/2005 15:56

Mama5 · 24/06/2005 16:28

Mama5 - Hurrah for your scan results .

Teuch - mine's at 9am on Monday. I'll be at the dentist by the time you have yours . Still, at least that'll be free now . Look forward to comparing notes Monday pm!

Frizbe · 24/06/2005 17:50

Oh good luck with all the scans girls, and hi to pops, I'm gona call the docs next week and get a booking in appointment with the mw, as it's my 2nd I'm guessing they won't want to see me until 12 weeks anyway....
Lol at the milk drinking, you'll need it lots later on when the heartburn kicks in, which reminds me, must check my extra large bottle of gaviscon is in date if last time is anything to go by!
Spacecadet, hope your sickness doesn't last for ages (as I seem to remember you having a hard time with it before)
Have a great weekend ladies

Nemo1977 · 24/06/2005 18:02

sorry ladies to crash but quick message for spacecadet

thanks for ur message on dec board everything great hope the same for you hun..take it easy xxxxxxxxxx

Tabs · 24/06/2005 19:16

Teuch - forgot to say earlier - FF says this for week 8: 'You may feel some cramping as your uterus expands.' I know you're week 9 now rather than 8, but it's only a few days diff, so doesn't sound like any cause for concern.

TicTac · 24/06/2005 21:36

Teuch - I have had the same dull feeling for a couple of days on or off. This is near my usual period time so I must admit I had put it down to that. I have also had an infrequent dull ache in my lower back. That might be constipation now though.

Milk...hmm, has kept heartburn at bay today and your dead right about flat juice.. I am not interested in it at all anymore!

3k · 24/06/2005 21:39

Evening all,

It's good to see so many people starting to have scans. I had my second scan today (I'm 8 + 1)and it went really well. Last week they couldn't measure the baby but this week it has definately grown and measured 1.7cm which is normal apparantly. The little heart was really visable too. The lady doing my scan said that once you see the heartbeart miscarriage risks drops to about 4%. I have a photo of a little "blob" but it's reassuring and I'm really excited now. Just hope it cools down as I have had a headache for a few days now. Seeing midwife on Monday so will mention it but I'm sure it is the heat.

Welcome to the new mummies to be. Teuch, I have also had the cramps you are getting. They were quite strong yesterday but the baby is fine and it is just stretching apparantly. Scary when it happens as I'm a worrier but try not to worry :-) Easier said than done though!!

3k · 24/06/2005 21:41

TicTac, I have also had really bad constipation, any ideas how to stop it? I went three days without anything the other day (sorry) then it made my bum bleed!!
