Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

womba1 · 25/07/2005 15:33

Of course that should have said virtual... my excitement got the better of me!!

Tabs · 25/07/2005 15:40

Could I have the snog after you've eaten the bounty, so that at least I get a bit of the taste?!

womba1 · 25/07/2005 15:43

Tabs... oh i see how it is... you just get the flavour and i get all the calories!!! I like your style lady!!!

Frizbe · 25/07/2005 16:05

mmmm bounties, now theres an idea! currently munching my way thru some carrot cake a friend made me, but she did it with coconut instead of walnuts! tastes loads better IMO!

womba1 · 25/07/2005 16:07

Hmmmmmmm.... carrot cake... with that delicious bitter cream on top!! Frizbe... you're a star too!!
Why haven't i thought of any of these scrummy foods before?!?!
Off to phone dh again... he's gonna love me!!

Frizbe · 25/07/2005 16:12

ah alas, there is none of the delicious cream cheese icing on it, although I could make some...hmmmm.....(must resist, must resist)

womba1 · 25/07/2005 16:40

Give in to it Frizbe! Just think of it this way... the topping is made of cheese, which contains calcium, which is good for babies bones!!!
Go on... you know you want too...

TicTac · 25/07/2005 19:36

Womba that is a really loose connection to "good for the baby" but I love it!!!

I know what you mean about the scan though. I have mine on Monday and will be 13 weeks by then but I am really quite scared, I just want to see that all is well!!

I had a Bounty with Milk chocolate at the weekend...very yum! And of course, according to Wombas theory that was great for the baby, the milk in the choccy and the fruit of coconut...;)

Frizbe · 25/07/2005 19:37

ah womba, I've just done something far worse! I've eaten dd's smarties!!

womba1 · 25/07/2005 19:48

What time is your scan on Monday Tictac? Mines at 10.10am.... i'll be thinking of you.

I reckon if we all put our minds to it... we could find, however loosely the connection, things that are good for our babies, in whatever we eat!!!

So Frizbe, smarties... chocolate.. milk in chocolate... calcium... ta da!!!
As for explaining to your dd where her sweeties have gone... errrmmmm... you're on your own there!!

teuch · 25/07/2005 20:38

hullo ladies...phew its been busy on here! Sounds like everyone is in good fettle and the food cravings and aversions are going strong

i had scan today and measuring 13+2, although the baby wouldn't stop wriggling and birling about long enough to get 'done' properly. Was amazingly detailed (massive feet!) and quite a watershed for DH - he's been dutifully waiting fo rthe scan/end f 1st trimester to allow himself to believe it might work out this time - now he's bouncing off the walls!

Re antenatal classes - round here you get one at 16wks which is all about looking after your back and being 'fit' for pregnancy, then you go back from 30 weeks for all the breathing, gory stuff and hossy visit.

womba1 · 25/07/2005 20:40

Teuch... great news about your scan.. am chuffed to bits for you and your dh!!

Tabs · 25/07/2005 21:05

Great news Teuch - that puts you well into Jan though doesn't it?! I trust you'll still be sticking with us anyway - where else could you go to be told that lemon marmalade is good for you because lemon is a fruit and baby likes fruit.

TicTac · 25/07/2005 21:07

Hi Womba, I am at 13:10. I shall be thinking of you in the morning! Where about in the country are you? I am sure we can find a link somewhere hun!

Great news on your scan Teuch - does that change your due date then? I can't believe that mini teuch is so active already!!

TicTac · 25/07/2005 21:09

Oh and they know what they say about big feet!! (big shoes of course ladies!)

Did you get any idea of the sex? You don't have to tell us, just if you could "see" anythig in all that detail!

womba1 · 25/07/2005 21:13

I'm in Eastbourne Tictac.

TicTac · 25/07/2005 21:15

Hmm, I am in Lancashire, thats not the connection then

TicTac · 26/07/2005 08:31

Morning ladies, I hope we are all feeling good today! I have my midwife visit today. She comes to the home in this area (I think just for the first visit)....quite nervous!! She will be here some time between 10 and 3....let you know how it goes.

BarefootMama · 26/07/2005 09:18

Tabs !!!! I just think it can be quiet on here!

Tabs · 26/07/2005 10:01

Will forgive you just this once !
But I've been keeping an eye on Jan too, and it's definitely been quieter than here for the last couple of weeks.

Morning TicTac - that's a big window for your m/w to arrive in. Hope it goes well - do tell us all about it afterwards.

TicTac · 26/07/2005 10:31

Will do Tabs. She just called to let me know she will be here about lunch time...at least I can get on with my morning now. I have some ebay stuff to post so will be heading to the village in a min.

flamesparrow · 26/07/2005 11:39

Anyone know how Pops is getting on?

kando · 26/07/2005 12:04

Hello ladies. Just quickly checking in whilst I'm using my sister's pc. Had my nuchal scan last week and it was all great - so reassuring to see baby moving around! The dds were both fascinated and now keep asking when the baby's coming out! All going very well indeed. We are leaving for Holland on Sunday - Yeahbut, hope you got my e-mail. DD1 has chicken pox and is absolutely covered in spots, so I'm expecting/hoping that dd2 gets it quite soon too just so we can get it over and done with! Am feeling nervous about the move but I'm sure it will go well. Let's just hope we can get all our stuff into the car for the trip over!! Catch up with you guys soon. PS - sorry to hear your sad news LABM. Hope everything's going OK.

TicTac · 26/07/2005 12:41

FS - We have not heard anythign about pops for a while, last note said she was out of hospital again I think.

Kando - Good luck for Sunday, I am sure it will go swimmingly well, you have baby to look forward to as well and that seems to be keeping your other kids excited!

My midwife has just been, she was lovely. She missed my vein so didn't take any bloods, she said they would have another go when I have my scan on Monday. All feels a bit more real, can't wait for Monday now although still very scared!

She did talk about having the Downs blood tests, not all areas offer them to everyone apparently but they do here. I was quite decided before she got here and now am going to have a bit more of a think. Any opinions?
