Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

Changed my name - how annoying!

womba1 · 14/07/2005 21:00

Hello Ladies,
i'm just taking a few mins before i go to bed to say 'hi', hope you're all doing great and to welcome to any newbies! I haven't been around for a fair while as i've been feeling really down and rather pessimistic.
Apart from the sore mubs and extreme tiredness, i've been feeling great and for some reason, it was concerning me. I refused to accept that things could work out and have been preparing myself for me to lose this peanut.
However... today i feel great!! I had my booking appointment with the midwife this morning and i cannot believe how much she has put my mind at rest. I have a dating scan booked for the 1st August and it can't come soon enough.
Obviously during the booking, we talked about previous pregnancies and we talked at length about my baby James who was stillborn almost 11 years ago. My midwife became so upset about my story and at one point, i was consoling her and passing her tissues! It definitely helped to talk though and i feel as though a weight has been lifted and i fully intend to enjoy this pregnancy now.
Anyway... sorry for rambling and i'm going to endeavour to pop on here on a daily basis so i can keep up with you all!
Take care, see you tomorrow and night night x

Twiga · 14/07/2005 21:38

Just nipping into let you know that Popadopolis was discharged from the hospital tonight and feeling much better for the fluid they managed to get into her. She's managed to keep a couple of meals down, is tired but ok.

Frizbe · 14/07/2005 22:27

3K and Womba1 that's good news for you both, and also for popadopolis glad we all appear to have had a good day!

Flamesparrow · 15/07/2005 08:38

Oh yay for Pop!!!!

I woke up and threw up. First time. I predicted (going with last pg) that it would start properly today... really should have put money on it!

Feeling very sorry for myself and very scared. If the sickness has started at exactly the same time as last time, then the likelihood of it being just as bad seems pretty high. I want to be able to go away and enjoy my honeymoon, but I'm so frightened right now.

BarefootMama · 15/07/2005 09:02

Womba1 - fantatsic news! It must be so hard but your empathetic midwife sounds just what you needed. How old is your little one ? is it a boy or girl?

August is hurtling towards us at a pace so it wont be long until you see the bab which will be just what you need! Try to enjoy - how are you feeling - my boobs are tiny compared to previous pg's!

Frizbe · 15/07/2005 10:34

Oh {{{Hugs}}} FS, you might be better off waiting to book that honeymoon you know.....I'd leave it a month or so and see how you feel, no point on wasting money if your gona be rancid...

TicTac · 15/07/2005 14:19

Anyone else work for British Gas in Manchester?? I do!

womba1 · 15/07/2005 17:16

BarefootMama... my midwife is lovely and it's easy to forget sometimes that they're human too! I was only 19 when i lost James and my mw kept saying she doesn't know how i ever carried on and got over it. I always say i carried on because i had too and although it's become easier to deal with, i've certainly never got over it... i doubt i ever will.
BUT.... i now have the most wonderful ds who is 2.4 and is going to make a fabulous, if not boistrous big brother!!
How is everyone doing today anyway? Congrats Flamesparrow on your long awaited chunder and may you carry on worshipping the porcelain God for many weeks to come!!

BarefootMama · 15/07/2005 17:48

Had an up and down day - just feel exhausted but not as sickly as before. had to sit through ( another) sports day with ds 2.5 and very tired. it was torture!
Dont know if i want to feel sick or not........

Just wish people 'knew' about pg at this stage but feel after m/c i cannot go blurting it so have to endure in silence. Just think everyone will think i am a real bore- all quiet and preoccupied!

BarefootMama · 16/07/2005 09:05

Come on girls- the march due thread is soooo much busier than ours- where are you all??

Flamesparrow · 16/07/2005 10:56

Well I've spent the morning throwing up and ranting at Amazon (they cocked up my Harry Potter order).

Not in the best of moods....

Frizbe · 16/07/2005 11:24

Oh FS, {{{Big Hugs}}} have you tried the ginger ale, that someone suggested it's worked for me!

TicTac · 16/07/2005 12:00

Sorry ladies but I have been getting to terms with the 2000 redundancies being made in British Gas. I work in the Manchester office and am affected!
Oh and my DH went to Tesco at midnight so I would wake up to my copy of Harry Potter this morning so have been busy getting through the first 150 pages....

No pregnancy news, been awful this week with sickness but I think that is starting to pass now! How exciting, we should start to see news of scans etc on this thread now. A few of us are reaching that 12 week mark which is terribly exciting!

I am off to Bolton and then to my grandads (his 81st birthday today) so I shall catch you ladies later. XXX

sunnyside · 16/07/2005 12:48

Hello everyone, have been watching for a while now so I'm eventually slinking in. Pleased to see solid signs of pg developing for everybody! All a bit vague for me at mo, have had two scans already as attending high risk clinic. They say signs are good but still unable to date properly! Consultant assured me that this is common but still a bit wary. Anyone had anything similar?

Frizbe · 16/07/2005 13:13

Hi Sunnyside, no sorry I haven't any similar experience, but I'm sure someone will have?

Tictac, does this mean your going to loose your job

BarefootMama · 16/07/2005 15:22

Welcome Sunnyside - yes they often say they cannot date but by 8 weeks or so it should be easier. I want a home birth ( if i get that far) but have had a fair bit of bleeding so dont know if they will let me.

When are you due?

TicTac · 16/07/2005 18:40

Hi Frisbe, unfortunately yes it does mean i will lose my job. Looks likely to be when i would have returned from maternity. The details are all very vague, but morale is high as you would imagine....Not!

Welcome Sunnyside! I hope you can join us with confidence soon.

womba1 · 16/07/2005 19:02

Tictac... sorry to hear about your job situation. When i was working, i was made redundant 2 days before i was officially enititled to any kind of payout!! I was livid so heres hoping you get a nice juicy lump sum to keep you going!!
Welcome Sunnyside.. looking forward to hearing all about you..

I'm just about to tuck into my 4th bag of pickled opnion monster munch crisps. I can't face dinner and as my dh is away for the weekend, i only have to please myself! I also have a huge bag of small geezers..(maltesers).. in the fridge! Maybe i'll have those for pudding, washed down with an ice cold glass of milk.

How are all you gorgeous Mummies feeling today??

Frizbe · 16/07/2005 19:54

I hope those are a craving womba

Oh Tictac that's pants, I hope you get your maternity paid for as you should and then a huge payout....

Tabs · 16/07/2005 20:18

Evening ladies - just woken up from a lovely long snooze - am so tired in this heat!

Womba1 - great to have you back posting again. Would have been good to have someone else with no symptoms around to make me feel less alone! I've really had almost nothing but constipation so far!

Kando - taking your PC away on Monday . Hope you have nice friends with PC so that we don't lose you for 3 weeks!

Yeahbut - hope your tooth is feeling better by now.

Ixel - best tip for avoiding telling people is to spend all day on here and then tell people that you've got an e-mail virus and lost your phone so you couldn't get in touch!

Barefootmama - no, not having a nuchal - have strong views on that subject and decided it's just not for me. What will be will be.

3K - interesting info from your m/w. Have been getting more CM the last week or two, so interesting to hear what's likely to be causing it.

TicTac - sorry to hear about your redundancy. I suppose it's lucky that at least you will get all of your maternity benefits out of them first.
You're right about scan news coming soon - I have mine on Tuesday, when I'll be 11+4.

Sunnyside - welcome and congrats. I've also heard that they can't date accurately until 8 weeks, so that's probably the reason. May I ask what makes you high risk? Do you have a date estimate from LMP?

Ladies - if you haven't seen her thread, it looks like we have lost Littlemermaid from our thread. Please spare her a thought and prayer if you can.

Right, off to cook some plain noodles - can't be bothered with anything more exciting!

Tabs · 16/07/2005 20:19

Sorry for War and Peace length message - didn't realise it had been so long since I last posted!

spacecadet · 17/07/2005 00:00

hope everyone is ok-glad to see pops is out of hospital

Tabs · 17/07/2005 16:38

Anybody else got achey pains sort of just below ribcage? I'm guessing that it's because Chip is moving up out of my pelvis about now, so assume it's just caused by stuff shifting around to make room, but anyone else able to confirm or feeling the same?

teuch · 17/07/2005 18:04

hi all...can't confirm the aches under the ribs but as of today I can't bend over! Feels very unconfortable and as if i am crushing some crucial organ...so sudden! Amazingly, I can clearly feel the top of my uterus above my pelvic bone...despite layers of chub!

Hope everyone is well, we have spent the weekend telling the rest of our families which is just delightful but gives me jitters!
