Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

Feeling VERY sick today

I've been convinced from day one that its a girl... I'm going to get very confused if I get given a boy baby!!!

Frizbe · 12/07/2005 09:55

Oh {{{Big Hugs}}} FS, its not nice is it...me too if that's any help, your not suffering alone..I'm finding a packet of fruit shortcakes is helping a bit!

Flamesparrow · 12/07/2005 10:38

Oooh that sounds nice. Babysitting this morning, might have to send my friend to the shops on her way home

teuch · 12/07/2005 10:39

just calling in briefly...officially unemployed now so not so easy to access mumsnet ...

I have been feeling really well since last Friday so thank god for the doppler...not only have i heard mini-teuch hammering away frantically, but the thumping around as he/she does a highland fling!!

Tabs - it took me ages and its a bit hit and miss (haveyou read the otehr thread?) - I actually found it a bit higher than recommended, but pointing downwards...good luck!

Mamatoto · 12/07/2005 10:42

Flamesparrow · 12/07/2005 10:45

Mamatoto · 12/07/2005 11:52

3k · 12/07/2005 12:23

Hi All,

I'm not feeling too bad just very very tired. got home from work last night and went to bed for 3 hours!!! My boss is not sympathetic at all, thinks it is all an excuse Grrrrrrrr.

For the stats, I am 27, 28 next week live in Gravesend, Kent and this is my first baby

Off on hols on Sunday to sunny Spain, I hope I will be ok and not get too hot. Still very nervous but have had early scan and all was well so going to try and chill out and relax as my boss has been making me feel very stressed lately. I'm sure he's peed off that I'm pregnant and keeps saying he might ask me to come back to work before the end of my maternity leave - there is no chance!!! If it comes to it I will just find something else! Anyone else having work troubles already?

Flamesparrow · 12/07/2005 12:26

Lol! Not too bright....

1 girl already.

Sorry to hear you're having work problems... I had loads last time (even lost out on a promotion). There isn't much I can say that will help now, but I do know that once you have your baby to cuddle, you won't care about that time at work anymore

3k · 12/07/2005 12:32

Thanks Flamesparrow, that's good to hear. It's horrible isnt it, I'm only in till Thursday though then off for a fortnight, only going to Spain for one week then at home for a week. When I had my MW appointment a few weeks ago he had stressed me out and my BP was high, she didnt seem too concerned but I told him in the hope he might leave off a bit - it worked for about a week and now back to normal!

JuA · 12/07/2005 12:40

I have one dd already - I was convinced she was going to be a boy and was genuinely surprised when I discovered she was a girl!! I have no idea this time - I thought morning sickness was worse with girls and I feel much worse this time!
3k - I can't believe your boss said that - just make sure you know your rights and don't let him stress you out - you and your baby are whats important.

Flamesparrow · 12/07/2005 12:42

I think sickness affects everyone differently. For me, any change in my hormone levels makes me feel ill (including being on the pill), so I'm pretty sure I'd be sick whatever.. not been able to test out that theory of boys being better for me yet though.

My friend was worse with boys, and another with girls.

Twiga · 12/07/2005 13:42

Hi, just crashing in on behalf of Popadopolis - she's still having a really rough time of it with the hyperemisis - has lost 23lb in just 3 weeks . Been to see the doc today and they are keeping a close eye on her potassium levels etc, all well with the bean still. Pops is feeling pretty washed out and miserable just now but sure whe will nip in and say hello once she's feeling a bit better. Hope the rest of you are keeping well, all the best x

RachelRog · 12/07/2005 14:27

Hi all

I am over the moon! Just had a scan and all is well....baby measures 21mm and is dated at 8+6 which is good as I thought I was 8+5 so size wise all is normal.......they say I can have another scan in 3 weeks but if I had already been 9 weeks they would not have given me another!
So pleased I will ge another one. The sonographer even let me have a scan picture which she says they do not normally give you.

SO HAPPY!!

munz · 12/07/2005 14:53

just crashing form the march one to say big congrats rach, hope everything carrys on going well. (((hugs))))

Frizbe · 12/07/2005 14:53

Aww Rachelrog that's wonderful news very happy for you all {{{{Big Hugs}}}

FS, did you get the bics? I've moved onto cheese sarnies now! little and often seems to be doing the trick....

Thanks for the message re popadopalis, Twiga, I wish her all the best in feeling a bit better asap, as I know how horrible hypermesis can be, as our friend had it recently too....

Hi Teuch, sorry you can't pop onto see us as often as you'd like.....

3K, sorry your boss is being an arse....check out your rights on the Maternity Alliance web site just in case he tries to pull 'owt.

Mamatoto · 12/07/2005 16:06

Just feel like a big lump of bloat! Only happy when consuming something that i then decide i dont actually want.... retched outside a restaurant today..........nice!!!!!

Tabs · 12/07/2005 16:44

Afternoon all .

RachelRog - wonderful news and a great feeling isn't it! Wonder how long it will set your mind at rest for?! Worked for about a week for me, before paranoia started creeping in again!

Would feel less paranoid if I could find an ickle heartbeat on my doppler! Had 6 attempts so far, and going to try to leave it until DH comes home on Thursday night before trying again (though anticipating failure in waiting already ). Will bear in mind your tips - thanks Teuch and Mamototo.

Did have half an hour of feeling rather sick and wretching a bit this afternoon, which was re-assuring. So morning sickness symptoms for me must total about an hour so far!!

Twiga - thanks for the update on Pops. that she's managed to lose 23lbs already, but guess I'd rather do it slowly than be in her position. Do let her know that we're thinking of her.

3k - Grrr at your boss. You just relax and enjoy your holiday and stuff them all!

Teuch - surely unemployment means lots of time to sit on your @rse and surf mumsnet?! Do you not have internet at home? Highly recommend pointing out to your DH that if you can make the effort to carry his baby for 9 months then the least he can do is have broadband installed!!!

Mamatoto · 12/07/2005 17:26

Poor poor pops - she must be finding it unbearable.

((( whispered...))) anyone else feel the insyest bit jealous of the weight loss ....(-well sort of !)

Twiga · 12/07/2005 17:55

Rach, left you a message on your other thread but just wanted to say congrats again on the scan today, so pleased things are all ok.

TicTac · 12/07/2005 20:26

Hi all,
Wow, there seems to have been a lot of thread activity over the last couple of days, taken me ages to catch up!

RR - Good news on the scan, and you will get another too, that's the best news. I bet you have looked at your picture 30 times already ;)

FS - Sorry to hear your a bit rough today hun...nasty! We should all start to feel better soon though shouldn't we?!?!?!
Has anyone started to tell people their news yet? I think most people know about me now! Some of it slipped out at work but I am lucky and British Gas are very supportive and have a great maternity package so I am not too bothered. Only 2.5 weeks until my scan!! Can't wait, I hope all is ok though, I have been getting a little bit worried...no reason, just a worry wort I think!!

Flamesparrow · 12/07/2005 21:36

Please send huge hugs to Pop for me. I remember it so well from last time (and its scaring the life out of me that it will start up again soon).

Re - teensiest bit jealous - That was the only benefit of it that I found... at 16 weeks pregnant with DD I looked better than I had in a year, and I was straight back to pre-preg weight (albeit that was overweight) as soon as DD was born.... I'd rather not be sick though

Didn't get the fruit shorties in the end, but she got me the raspberry and white chocolate McVities ones instead

I have held those down today, and although it took me an hour of very small, slow mouthfuls, I managed lasagne for tea too.

Worrying about sickness and honeymoon though...

TicTac · 12/07/2005 22:12

Honeymoon Flamesparrow.... you getting married soon??

Flamesparrow · 12/07/2005 22:44

Nope - you've missed it!

Got married end of May, but had to wait until August before we could honeymoon so that my mum oculd have DD for us.

Tabs · 13/07/2005 07:37

I found Chip's heartbeat! Couldn't resist having one last attempt just before bed last night, and it took a while, but found it doing just what it should be, bouncing away at 155bpm. Soooooooo happy!
