Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

Funny teuch! My DP said to me at the weekend ' What do you want to do?' I said 'Nothing' He said ' Ok you just Gestate then!'

Tabs · 04/07/2005 17:02

Ooh - lucky you two. My DH just tells me I'm a lazy cow and that pregnancy isn't an illness!!!

Flamesparrow · 04/07/2005 17:47

Thump him Tabs!!!

Mine doesn't seem to notice mess... which can be good, but also means he never bloody tidies it!!!

Anyone else having problems sleeping at night? I'm constantly tired, but have all disturbed sleep at night.

Mamatoto · 04/07/2005 18:18

yes Flame that was me lst night - either sleep LIKE A LOG and wake up still exhausted ar wakeful all night and wake up still exhausted!

TicTac · 04/07/2005 20:04

Tabs, I agree with flaemsparrow...bop him one where it hurts!!!
My DH tells me like 100 times he is going to do the ironing...eventually he does but it is after a week or so of the pile growing.

Trauma this morning ladies.. I had to lay horizontal on the bed in order to zip up my work pants!!! PLEASE tell me someone else out there feels like they are expanding already

Tabs · 04/07/2005 20:21

Lol you guys! He's not all bad! I don't do ironing, but he's quite happy for us to pay someone else to do it. He's also quite happy to pay for cleaners, but the ones we had were rubbish so I sacked them and haven't found any others yet.

He does do some washing up, and he cleaned 2 of the toilets last weekend, so it's not like he's a completely useless lump! He's a bit like Flamesparrow's DH in that he's oblivious to mess, so doesn't clear it up, and needs lots of nagging to do anything that drags him away from his computers!

He lives in a hotel most of the week so just needs reminding now and again then when he comes home he isn't still in one!!

TicTac - no signs of me expanding yet, but I seem to be craving sweet stuff all the time, so probably only a matter of time before it catches up with me! Trying to stick with my Slimming World plan throughout pregnancy, but using all my syns for sweets and honey and similar at the mo.

Frizbe · 04/07/2005 20:51

Oh stuff the slimming tabs, its the only time in life you can get away with it! and lets face it, we'll all be on a diet thread in 9mths, so enjoy it whilst you can
Mamatoto I know where your coming from I had the same problem Sat afternoon, I tried to put dd to bed, for her nap! but dh brought her downstairs 15mins later, they woke me up from my doze on the sofa....ho hum....

Tabs · 04/07/2005 21:45

Oh Frizbe - part of me wishes that I could just say stuff the diet, but despite having lost 3 stone already this year, I'm still medically classed as obese, and with diabetes already prevalent in my family it could just be a risk too far.

Still, hasn't stopped me from enjoying 10syns worth of butter toffee popcorn this evening - v yummy, and it was only 1/7th of the bag, so sense it might not be the only night this week that I indulge .

Flamesparrow · 04/07/2005 21:48

TicTac - I'm only 6 n a bit weeks, and my shape is already changing!!! I had put on weight just before falling pregnant, but now I have that rounded tummy just-about-to-come-on bloated type look.

Fully expectin sickness to kick in soon though, and I'll get to a lovely size!

As much as I hated the HG last time - I was back to pre-preg weight as soon as DD was born (ok, so that was overweight in the first place, but still the same weight ), and me at 12 weeks pg is the size I've been trying to get down to ever since!

Mamatoto · 05/07/2005 09:25

not put on any weight but still feel like a lead legged bulker wandering from chair to bed. Its not even the nausea its the 'nothing inspires me' 'everything is toooo much bother'' i wish this bit was over -ness' Any one understand where i am coming from?

JuA · 05/07/2005 09:35

Hi all
I hope everyone is feeling OK
I am so tired - I feel really sorry for dd - we have watched far too much cbeebies!! but it means I can lie on the sofa! She is mostly being good and I try and get out to do something with her each day - but it is hard work!
I still have not heard from the midwife - I am sure it didn't take this long last time - it is 2 weeks since my GP referred me so maybe I should chase it up otherwise I will never get a scan before 12 weeks.

Morgan · 05/07/2005 09:46

Hi everyone,

sorry to hear everyone seems to be feeling tired. It's tough isn't it - after three years of ttc i don't want to complain but i do feel so tired in bed at 8.45 last night.

Had a scan yesterday and saw the tiny peanut and a heartbeat so felt relieved but still scared! Told my mum and dh's parents. We live close to in-laws so my mother in law can help out with ds and won't have to lie when i have any appointments. Put me at 7 weeks and have nuchal booked for 1 August.

Kando - i started my injections yesterday so lots of bruises to come!

teuch · 05/07/2005 09:58

Morning! Well, it sounds like we are all in the same boat regards energy!

As for weight/shape...I am overweight anyway but already everything is too tight and I can't wear tight things at all (shame since lots of my clothes were snug anyway!) No clothes!!

Even my 'curvy' bits seem to have gone all soft and wobbly...

Kassie · 05/07/2005 10:29

Hello again ladies haven't been around for a while so just trying to catch up.

JuA - I'm totally knackered all the time too and feeling like a beached whale already. My DS is only 11 months and his energy is boundless - can it be syphoned off!!!? Praying for him to need a nap soon cos I'm desperate for one. Feel awful saying that cos he's sooooo good (at the mo'!)

For stats girls - I'm 32, DH is 37 and we live in North Wales.

TicTac · 05/07/2005 10:36

Hi Teuch,
I too am overweight, I lost 5 stone last year and really need to do another 5 so am gutted with the clothes situation, I hate the idea of going out and buying bigger sizes again!

Tabs · 05/07/2005 11:55

Wow TicTac - thought I was doing well losing my 3 stone this year, but 5 stone is amazing!

Have you not kept your old clothes? I figure that I'll just wear some of those as I get bigger, as it seems to be really hard to find plus size maternity wear.

spacecadet · 05/07/2005 12:17

im really overweight, trying not to put anymore on...went to london yesterday and walked from regents park to kings cross, felt exhausted when io got there!, went to bed when i got home, still feel tired today, god the tiredness is so debilitating.

Morgan · 05/07/2005 13:03

I'm overweight too - Next does maternity to size 22 (some items) and Dorothy Perkins go up to size 20 too. I found the Next stuff generous last time but am bigger this time round unfortunately. Luckily normal clothes still fit at the mo.

Tabs · 05/07/2005 13:36

Oh thanks Morgan - would never have thought to look in Next. Have just got down to a 22, so might pop in for a nose when belly starts expanding!

3k · 05/07/2005 14:41

Hi Ladies,

I think I'm feeling the same as most of you, absolutely knackered all the time!!

I am off on hols next Sunday and I will be 11.5 weeks then. I'm going to Spain so only a short flight but I'm worried about being so far away from home if anything goes wrong. MW said not to sunbathe and to drink plenty of fluids but does anyone else have any tips for me? My scan is on 29th Jul and I will be 13 weeks then, had two early ones due to IVF and all was well but I can feel the worry coming back. I think it's because of my holiday. Is anyone else going/gone on holiday in the first trimester?

popmum · 05/07/2005 14:52

3k - I am off to france in a few weeks when I will be about 16 weeks. We are going by ferry and even then they say no travelling ater 28 weeks. Travelled when preg with baby no 1 loads of times - flew to maderia when about 13 weeks - sunbathed as well no problem (why did she say you shouldn't?). Take the time now to relax I say - holidays will never be the same again! (is it your 1st?)

teuch · 05/07/2005 15:31

hi 3k - I think you just need to be extra careful about things like uncooked food, drinking water and the likes. there is no reason why you shouldn't sunbathe (unless she gave you a specific reason!) just that you shouldn't get overheated and that the pg hormones may make your skin pigmentation react differently.

Keep hydrated and relax is my advice ...make sure you have a phrase book and your E111 (if that is still relevant!).

Happy holibags!

teuch · 05/07/2005 15:47

what does everyone think of these home doppler thingys?

Anyone planning on getting one? Anyone used one before?

(anyone in the Edinburgh/Wet Lothian area willing to do a demonstration? )

TicTac · 05/07/2005 16:57

I feel so much better for reading this today, I thought I was the only overweight pregnant lady (ok I know I wasn't actually but you know what I mean!)

I might order some next stuff and try on, they are good with returns!

YeahBut · 05/07/2005 17:18

Tictac I have no stomach muscles left after 2 pregnancies and a c-section so my stomach popped out a couple of weeks back. Can only wear my jogging pants atm but am too superstitious to buy new trousers until after the nuchal scan in 2.5 weeks!

Feel sick and permanently tired at the moment and dd2, aka "the mini cyclone", started her summer hols this week. We only got to 10am yesterday morning before she asked if it was September yet (she starts nursery full-time then)!!!!
