Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

well im dizzy anyway popmum, but yes i have been feeling very lightheaded and faint, not nice.

Flamesparrow · 02/07/2005 22:48

What's your iron like Popmum? Mine drops pretty much the instant I get pregnant it turns out - and I get very dizzy, and also more stroppy tired than basic hormone tired.

TicTac · 02/07/2005 23:00

My DH keeps asking me when I will start to crave... I have no idea what the "norm" is. I think he is holding on for a curry craving. I hate anything even slightly spicey (lemon and herb chicken from Nandos is about my spice limit) so bless him, he never gets curries cooked!!

Flamesparrow · 03/07/2005 08:12

Lol - I remember craving steak at about 8 weeks with DD, and then oranges... then the sickness stopped all cravings until about 30 weeks when it turned into microwave popcorn or popadums!!

kando · 03/07/2005 09:03

mamatoto - I'm having a nuchal scan too! Got mine booked for 20th July. We don't get scans in Hampshire until 16 weeks, and as we are leaving to live in Holland in a couple of weeks, I wanted to be sure everything was OK and get the nuchal scan out of the way at the same time. Will be about 12 weeks when they do the scan.

popadopolis - I went to college in Aberdeen and lived in the Bridge of Don for a wee while, then in Springbank Terrace, just off Crown Street. Such a lovely place to live - I love the granite stone and the big old houses.

Someone mentioned cravings - mine is Quavers crisps at the moment - also had them when pg with dd1 although at that time they were not suitable for veggies (still ate them though, not very good of me!). I buy the multipacks "for the dds" ...! Injections going OK - got quite a few bruises on my tummy though. Only a small needle, but I still get a bit nervous about doing them. Saw a consultant haematologist who said that they may do things differently in Holland and switch me to warfarin for months 3-7/8 of the pg, and back to heparin for the final 1/2 months. Not quite sure how I feel about that, but as I may be counting chickens, I'll wait and see what they say when we actually get there! I don't feel pregnant at the moment - my extreme tiredness seems to have calmed down for now, so I'm glad about that as it really knocked me for six this time. Just have to wait and see how the rest of it goes. Can't believe I'm only 8 weeks or so, it seems to be taking forever!

TicTac · 03/07/2005 10:19

Kando I know what you mean about the pregnancy seeming forever already. I am only 9 weeks but I think because everyday is so different for me and I have had a couple of bleeds (more pink on wipe today!) I am becoming so petrified of loosing this baby that everyday is a long slog!
Oh well, what will be will be!

teuch · 03/07/2005 10:47

hi folks,

tictac, hold in there hon...I know what you mean about time slowing to stop.

I had booking in with mw on thur, next scan 23rd July (I think) so not long...but was off work on Fri with some tummy bug (at least I think it was). By saturday morn I was feverish and cramping, lying on the bathroom floor in between bouts of sickness/other end . It seems to have passed but I was terrified and I just hope mini teuch is holding in there...

have only had flat diet pepsi and some lentil soup for whole weekend...

Flamesparrow · 03/07/2005 10:53

Chicken fried rice fro the chinese always seems to stay down best for me after a tummy bug.

Big hugs to you Tictac, and Teuch

I really should amke my midwife appointment next week. Where I'm still only six weeks it all seems really early!

Mamatoto · 03/07/2005 11:46

Tic Tac - me too. I had a tiny bit of blood when I wiped and am trying to be philosophical. For me I have bled on and off ( a drop every two days) for like 2-3 weeks now (am 8+4 or something now. After two scans ( and you have had one) baby was healthy despite bleed...just try and be positive. I know its hard. Do you wish you could sleep or at least lie flat for the next six weeks? I know I do!

Frizbe · 03/07/2005 19:59

Teuch don't worry re the sickness and other end, I had similar for 1 day, whilst pregnant with dd, and all is fine with her!
Tictac, all will be fine, read another great story about a local girl in paper the other day, who didn't know she was pregnant with her 2nd until she gave birth, as had periods whole way thru!
Popmum, I've just eaten my way thru a bag of chips from the Chinese, as I had a craving for those too!!

popmum · 03/07/2005 20:11

the chips helped the craving but today i am just feeling sick and off food.....can't wait for 1st 12 weeks to be up to be honest! Already feel v. fat but am a bit bloated I think (all those yummy chips!)
Anyone doing any yoga exercises?

TicTac · 03/07/2005 20:21

Well ladies I just treated myself to a bath with my fav Molton Brown bath bubbles. Kept it much cooler then I usually like but still just took a roasting off DH... I only stayed in about 10/ 15 mins but feel V relaxed for it.

I would be happy for heyfever, sickness, bleeding to all pass now and for the cravings to kick in

I love doing Pilates with Yoga but have not been since found out I was PG , no realy reason.. just usually too tired on a Monday night to go...As soon as I hit 12 weeks.. I am seriously going to get on with life... I hope

TicTac · 03/07/2005 20:23

sorry..meant no reason really!!!

Flamesparrow · 03/07/2005 23:26

I'd love to start doing some sort of pregnancy yoga... I couldn't with DD because I was working full time and was wiped out for evening classes, and daytimes obviously, i was working for.

Much more queasy today

TicTac · 04/07/2005 08:45

morning FS, I just feel strange this morning.

Mamatoto · 04/07/2005 09:09

Bareley slept last night - had a bowl by the bed cos at 11pm last night felt like cr*$ anyway survived the night but not a good one. Two year old need of entertaining and energy levels at -17 at the start of the day does not bode well. Cant face the kitchen in case there's any food ish smells! Ahh well better brave it!

TicTac · 04/07/2005 09:13

Big hugs Mamatoto! both my team memebers have just informed me that I look like cr*p...talk abotu a pick me up for a monday morning...

Mamatoto · 04/07/2005 09:16

Do they know Tic Tac??

TicTac · 04/07/2005 09:36

Yes they do, 1 guessed and I told the other.

TicTac · 04/07/2005 09:37

and I really need to start to re-read these messages before I post them...sorry!!!

kando · 04/07/2005 11:32

Glad it's not just me who's feeling rubbish then ... sympathy to you all! I've got a thumping headache, which I think might be sinus related as it feels similar to sinus pain I had with dd2 (don't normally get it ... why only during pg when I can't take much for it??) All along my cheekbone and into my eyesocket - feels like I've been punched! Have taken one paracetamol (last one too!) and is easing ever so slightly. Wish there was a pill I could take to get myself motivated/moving - I just cannot be bothered doing anything - I haven't ironed for about 2 weeks and the pile ain't getting any smaller. I managed to do the hoovering last week, but the place hasn't seen a duster for ... ! Really need to get sorted as this is a rented house and we have to move out in a couple of weeks - I can't leave the place like a pigsty although I'm very tempted to as it sorely needs a complete overhaul. Anyhow, that's another story! (It's not really a pigsty, just not quite as clean as I'd like it to be!)

Somebody motivate me ... pleeease!

Frizbe · 04/07/2005 11:49

I know what you mean Kando! I have a pile of ironing thats mutating at the mo.....argh!
I hope you feel better soon...
I'll join those of you who are feeling sick today then, keep feeling really queasy, although touch wood etc haven't been yet.

teuch · 04/07/2005 13:35

Hi folks,

I soooo cannot be bothered! No cleaning, no exercise, no nuthin! And it is my last week at work so I am seriously winding down here too...

Anyone else in Edinburgh? It is seriously kicking off round my office...

Mamatoto · 04/07/2005 15:35

Just tried to lie down with ds (2.5) rampaging round me - singing- emptying drawers bringing me things - i am certain I dozed for around a minute but apart from that I think the whole experience was close - very close to torture. I dragged myself up - washed my face and thought exhaustion is better than that! Anyone had this delightful experience?

teuch · 04/07/2005 16:32

mamatoto - not experienced that as have no dc, but working hard on growing one!

I'm very lucky in that Mr Teuch is very domesticated and doesn't even grumble when I lie prostrate on the sofa, snoozing and murmuring 'of course I can't hoover I'm growing fingers, toes & vital organs don't you know!'...

...it's a 24hr job this baby-growing...
