Hi Girls - so here we all are and so far so good (fingers and toes crossed and wheelbarrow loads of baby dust abounding)

Thought I would start a new thread (new name too) as babies being found out about now will just about be into March so we are no longer the absolute newbies which feels good!

So maybe we should collate all our due dates(any one had a dates scan yet??)

Keep it up!

Have been to EPAC to be rescanned but still confused. They said on scan that the pregnancy is 4-5 week size ( which is what i was told 9 days ago ) but at least this time there was an embryo visible and a flicker of a heartbeat and that is reassuring but I had a BFB 3 weeks ago today so that does not make sense even if it is 5 weeks as I would only just have concieved. I think I am nearer to 6 weeks now. Have not been given a due date yet so what I think I shall have to do is have a dating scan in about 5 - 6 weeks when the baby is bigger and easier to measure and get a difinate date then.

TicTac · 30/06/2005 10:25

Morning LexyB,
It is so difficult for them to determine the age of your baby when it is so tiny but I think you are right about being 6 weeks. If they detected a hearbeat then you must be in your 6th week as this is the first time your baby's heat will beat. The heart at this stage is tiny too, about the size of a poppy seed.

Fingers crossed for a great pregnancy and a clearer scan in a couple of weeks. x

Hey everyone! I'm out of hospital and feeling slightly better. I'm on anti-sickness pills which isn't grea but at least I can eat without throwing up!! My stats are as follows:

I'm 26, Dh is 30, pregnant with #1 and feeling very sick but happy! Didn't test until eight weeks because I ddin't think I would be pregnant. My doc told us I didn't ovulate and would need help to conceive so didn't think of testing till MIL told me to!! Very nice surprise until I was hospitalized a couple of days later with Hyperemesis!! Feeling more excited now though.

So that's me and Baby G as we're calling the bean right now!

TicTac · 30/06/2005 10:37

Oh fantastic news Pop..congrats and welcome back!!

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 10:38

Thanks TicTac! What's your stats?

TicTac · 30/06/2005 10:41

I am 29 DH 42, first pregnancy, just over 8 weeks, I too did not ovulate and "needed help" but then at Christmas I started to ovulate of my own free will and fell preg in May (LMP 30th April).
Very excited about pregnancy, had to have an early scan on Tuesday because of bleeding but there was a healthy heart beat fluttering away so feel great about that. Don't feel great with the Nausea though..lol!

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 10:45

My LMP is 1st May so you're a day ahead of me! What's your due date cos my doc told me 8th Feb but my books I'm due 5th Feb.

I had a scan when I was in hospital and saw the heart beat too. IT's so amazing to think something that tiny has such a strong heart beat and it can make us feel so ill!!! Bless them!!

TicTac · 30/06/2005 10:48

Well doc says I am due 5th Feb but I think I am due 7th...so that doesn't help you does it?!?!
I hope you got a picture to keep of your beanie!

Which part of the world are you in? I am in Horwich, Lancashire.

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 10:53

Oh, that's even more confusing then isn't it?!! I guess we'll just have to be ready beginning of Feb sometime!! I didn't get a piccie, they only printed one and they put it in my file. I was too sick to think about it but when Dh asked them for a copy they'd already switched machine off. Dammit!! nevermind, every time they came round I asked to see it again!!

I'm in Bedford, Bedfordshire!! Beautiful part of the country. I'm orginally from Aberdeen though, married an Englishman!

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 10:55

I was joking about it being beautiful BTW!!!

TicTac · 30/06/2005 10:58

Awww, DH and I are going to ware ours out I think

Do you have a date for your next scan then?

I think the beans will come when they are good and ready...not when we or the docs say so!

Frizbe · 30/06/2005 11:02

Aww Pops, nice to hear your good news

Well I went to the quacks today and they have me dated at either 28th feb 2nd March or 4th March, depending on what my cycle was doing for that month!!! tee heee....
I have my booking in apptmt on 20th July, with MW and I was very and nicely surprised to find out they've introduced a dating scan at our local hospital (that of desperate midwives fame) so I get to see my beanie twice! this time (with dd it was just the 20 wk scan) so feeling all excited now
Hope your all having a good day, and not too much barfing going on....

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 11:02

Yeah, baby's trigger their own birth anyway! I don't have a date for next scan. Still waiting for my midwife to contact me and give me appt. Should have appt at 10weeks and then hopefully get scan date for 12weeks. I didn't find out till I was about 7weeks so went to doc last thursday.

How's your 'morning' sickness? I'm beginning to feel sick now so I'll need to nibble on something I think. Waiting for the Tesco man to deliver my shopping so I can have a banana!!!

Frizbe · 30/06/2005 11:05

Not feeling to bad today luckily (phew) get the odd wave of nausea, but a quick ginger bicky is currently doing the trick, no doubt it'll get worse before better, although I was lucky with dd and only had one real day of both ends going (sorry TMI!) but I reckon that was a bug I caught at work.

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 11:05

Hey frizbe! I didn't realise that some hospitals didn't do the dating scan! How annoying, glad that you'll get two scans now. I'll have three all together as I had one done in hospital last week when I was admitted.

TicTac · 30/06/2005 11:06

Frizbe that's great news about your 2nd scan..I couldn't believe it when you mentioned before that you only had a 20 week scan.

I had an early scan on Tuesday, have 12 week scan on 1st August (although will be just over 12 weeks) and another at about 20 weeks... I think I will be all scanned out.

Pop - Morning sickness has been horrid. I wished for ages that I would get it and now wish I was more careful with my wishes! I have only just started to barf the last couple of days but I have been nauseous 24/7 for a few weeks! I can't bare the thought of a supermarket...really knocks me sick and any raw meat products....OH PASS ME A BUCKET PLEEEEEASE!!!!

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 11:07

I did the whole ginger biscuits thing but it was when I couldn't keep anything down so now they remind me of being sick and I can't eat them!! I've taken to eating Belgian biscuits instead!!

Frizbe · 30/06/2005 11:07

Yeah apparently it was a funding and staffing thing, upuntil very recently......ahem.....thank gawd it appears to be getting sorted eh!

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 11:10

Oh poor you TicTac! I don't feel that bad anymore but probably due to pills I have. I can;t face anything like shopping or working or anything really so have everyone running around after me. I've had my tea cooked the past couple of nights too! My sister in law and mother in law rtook turns as Dh works til 10pm this week. I am so spoilt!

TicTac · 30/06/2005 11:12

Oh fantastic Pop, I think I will come and stop with you for a bit..LOL!
DH has been cooking my tea bless him. Only he has not got the idea of not talking to me about it otherwise I can't it eat...I'm a funny bugger aren't I!

So what work would you do if you could face it

Frizbe · 30/06/2005 11:16

Oh can someone come and cook our tea as well please, I dread the day when dh has to cook for the kids (his repertoire only stretches as far as lumpy mash, peas n sausages, he really is a dire cook, cleans the house tho, so I don't mind cooking!)

Actually I did get a 2nd scan with dd at 36 weeks, cause I had suspected placenta previa, but luckily it had moved, have a fab scan photo on dd popping her thumb in!! righty off to play for the afternoon now, try and have fun ladies!

TicTac · 30/06/2005 11:20

I have to go off to a meeting now ladies that will see me right through to 15:00 and then have a 2.5 hour drive home. I am in our Solihull office today and I live in Lancashire...bargh. Have a good day!
x

popadopalis · 30/06/2005 11:23

Funnily enough my work involves pregnancy! I work with pregnant teenagers and young girls in a residential unit! I have to pop off just now and deal with the man from Tesco!! Just the shopping delivery nothing dodgy you understand!! LOL!

Twiga · 30/06/2005 12:57
