Here it is!

OP posts:

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 05/10/2009 16:49

it is called Pica.

But still - you weirdo .

Trikken · 05/10/2009 16:49

could be cos im iron deficient. supposedly you can get funny cravings when your body needs iron. tried iron tabs but they make me feel really rough so going to get spatone when dh and i go food shopping tomorrow. hopefully it'll help.

ErikaMaye · 05/10/2009 16:50

I must admit I've been staying away from my iron tablets occasionally too, they make me feel really odd.

Trikken · 05/10/2009 16:50

sorry x-posted Pav! thanks for the pica info!

katster37 · 05/10/2009 16:53

OMG Trikken all day I have been fantasising about chewing a bath sponge with warm water!! That is so strange - and I am def iron deficient! In fact as I think about it now, I want to get a sponge and chew it. Wow, how bizarre!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 05/10/2009 16:53

And you are right, it could be iron deficiency causing it - it says it is likely caused by a mineral deficiency, commonly an iron deficiency...!

katster37 · 05/10/2009 16:55

BTW my NCT teacher recommended Fluordix (sp?) for iron deficiency - apparently it is 8 pounds from Boots. Have not had a chance t try it yet though.

Broodzilla · 05/10/2009 16:56

Trikken did it make you feel better?

Raggie Supposedly if we spend lots of time on all fours, that encourages the baby to turn back out as the back is the heaviest part. We should NOT lean back on the sofa or lie on our backs (I know were not supposed to anyway, but I constantly wake up on my back, that's the comfiest position for me... ) I do think bouncing on the ball should help as well, as long as your hips are higher than your knees and you're leaning slightly forward.

Erm, anyone else on the Raspberry Leaf who is also a cat owner... I dropped a capsule on the floor earlier (and left it, for obvious reasons) and my cat found it and ate if before I could stop her. She's a bit mad anyway and also doesn't have a uterus so god knows what it'll do to her if anything. Just thought I'd let you know the capsules seem to be attractive to cats... that one's a really fussy eater normally!

Also, not that it's anything to do with me, but whoever was planning to post things to each other - don't put anything of any value in the post at the moment! I only get paid 4 times a year and am currently waiting for my October pay, cheque is in the post... and we don't seem to be getting anything via Royal Mail, all the post that comes through is either UK Mail or TNT.

Trikken · 05/10/2009 16:56

well thats good! hopefully i wont do it any more.

katster37 · 05/10/2009 16:57

Make that Floradix...

Trikken · 05/10/2009 16:57

yes Brood, it did. I had trouble stopping actually.

ErikaMaye · 05/10/2009 16:59

Broodzilla reckon it can't be any worse than my dog eating prozac and anti-physcotics once

katster37 · 05/10/2009 17:12

Broodzilla I am raspberry tea drinking cat owner! Nothing unusual to report as of yet, but he is a he, and so may not be aware of the benefits!

Also - no, we haven't had any Royal Mail post either. I am awaiting a baby snow suit from eBay and I have no idea when to expect it. I think the postal strike has hit London particularly badly...

Trikken · 05/10/2009 17:18

think the cat will be ok, my mums cat has eaten many a dodgy thing and is still here.

on the postal strike theme, dh's bday present never arrived. i emailed tesco and they have just sent me a letter asking if i want credit, refund or a replacement so really have to send it back.

Hi all Finding it v difficult to post as by the time I catch up ds deags me back to the dreaded playdoh (He loves playdoh but hates touching it so I end up doing all the work!)

Really reassuring to hear about everyone having BH. I'm on pills to stop contractions so when I woke sunday night with contractions I went into major panic as I thought it was labour and nothings ready yet. Was up at 5 doing washing cooking meals, writing lists the whole nesting thing...and finally it was just BH !

Right off to make some pizza for the freezer (dp is allergic to flour!! so we can't rely on takeaway when baby arrives- My freezer needs to be full)

ursigurke · 05/10/2009 17:57

Tamlin, I was worried about back to back but the GP told me the back is on the right side. And I can very often feel it there too. But I am continuously concerned she might drop back so I try not to sit on the sofa too often and be on all 4 as much as I can (which is not a lot). The GP thought she wouldn't move anymore as she was almost engaged already. So hopefully she was right

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 05/10/2009 18:17

You poor people with post trouble! I ordered something the other day from ebay and arrived the very next day, and same with MN, bought some sleeping bags from someone and arrived the next day!

BUT, I have not received the breastpads that i ordered two weeks ago from toys r us with the moses basket. Maybe that explains it?

Hello missese !

Just adding myself to the list, hope I've not missed anyone off!

I am so shattered today, think I'll put boys to bed and then have a bath and an early night.
Catch you all tomorrow

scarlotti · 05/10/2009 18:45

For all those ladies worried about back to back, baby often turns during labour so that the head is born in the optimum position ... just in case you get fed up of kneeling with your bum in the air!!

Was so tired today I had to go up and have a nap! The weekend must have caught up with me - am so lucky that DD is good with DS and old enough to look after him for a bit.

Bought FIL a birthday cake from ChoccywoccyDooDah ... and they decided it would be too messy to take it back to Aberdeen so have left it here for us all to finish off Naturally I'm only eating it to be helpful!!

Still waiting for my new laptop Dell site says it's now moved to the production phase. How long can it take to put together a few circuit boards?! I miss chatting to you all and get nagged if I disappear to the spare room too often [pouting emoticon]

tigger32 · 05/10/2009 18:45

Sorry forgot to say hello to Sassmonkey and Comma

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 05/10/2009 20:11

Do you think it is too late to start drinking raspberry leaf tea for all the benefits of pregnancy and prep for birth? In particular I am thinking of it strengthening the uterus and helping to make second stage of labour shorter! I have not got around to it yet but think I should probably do so now.

Hi everyone! I have been away for a few days and have just spent ages trying to catch up with you all - these threads move so fast!
I can't believe Lemontop's baby has arrived already. Congratulations! And great news that he is doing so well. I wonder who will be next.
I started my maternity leave today. It's a very strange feeling and even though I couldn't wait to get out of the office I do feel a little bit bereft now. I'm focusing on all the tasks that I need to do and also arranging some social stuff to make sure I don't get too isolated. Looking forward to DH arriving home from work now!
