Thank you all for the kind messages and hugs, I'm off to see him again later and hope to get an update on his condition.

Fubble Sorry you are feeling so bad, hope you have more energy soon!!!

I have made a timetable of the boys activities today so that I can give copies to my mum and Dh and have put an extra ready to go into the boys bag (in case they end up with my Dad or sister) Not sure now whether my mum will be able to help as she may be too busy with my sd.
I have also made up a list of phone numbers of people who can help out with the boys for school runs etc and a list of up coming parties, school fayres etc, in fact on paper I'm very well prepared just not organised in the house yet.

sleepless and longway I love the name Beatrice and pav take no notice of your friends, call your baby whatever you want to.
Venus Hello and welcome, yes do tell us more about yourself.

scarlotti glad you are feeling a bit better.

Pavlov This is going to be my first. I live in Bishop's Stortford in East Herts. I've had a ludicrously easy pregnancy so far. Bit of tiredness 1st trimester, slight digestive issues followed by low iron in late 2nd tri and that's it. With theoretically only 3 weeks to go I'm still spending most of my day painting the house and feeling fine as long as I get a bit of a nap and a quietish evening.

I really feel for those of you having to juggle other children & family commitments. Especially if you aren't feeling so well. I can stop doing DIY whenever I feel like it, but toddlers don't work that way, do they? I've watched my sister cope with two little ones and a full time job with something approaching fear awe.

On strange names suggested by partners - mine is quite keen for our LO to be named Redd. This is for a boy, so not even a Fraggle Rock reference. I have used my veto, but will make sure I'm with him to register the name, just in case the temptation to adjust is too strong.

Hi all! Welcome venus.

Still trying to catch up with the weekend news. Sorry for everybody's pains - I hope you're on the mend soon.

tigger so sorry for your news, I hope your sd recovers well.

ideanna my oldest nephew is Kacper - Polish equivalent. I love the name.

Venus, can you talk him into Rufus or something instead?!

Report
VenusInfers · 12/10/2009 14:04

Tamlin I really like Rufus but our surname also begins with 'R' so trying to steer clear of alliterative (sp?) first names full stop. We've got a compromise name lined up for the little wriggler.

Tigger32 really hope your SD is doing as well as possible.

scarlotti · 12/10/2009 14:06

skorpion your oldest nephew doesn't live in Brighton does he?! DS' friend from nursery who's just gone to school is Kacper

tigger glad the book arrived, hope it provides a little light relief for you at the moment.

can't remember who posted about the mini contractions but I think that might be what's happening here. Just get odd long twinges every now and then.
Seem to have progressed from illness and panic that I'm nowhere near ready to an almost zen like acceptance of my earache and the imminent arrival of DS2. Makes me think it's near ... but knowing my luck it's just wishful thinking and I'll still be here in 5 weeks long overdue!!

laugs At the mo I am feeling guilty for upsetting and turning DD's life upside down, and me having to tend to a baby. Its really making me quite sad, but in the long run she will love having a sis. I just don't want her to resent the baby or me..

Painting venus you are doing it ALL day? Hmmph, i am there appears to be something about painting when pregnant. Lots of people seem to do it, not sure if its the painting or the urge to change/freshen/clean everything. I am obsessed with white at the moment. DH is waiting for me to go 'oh i hate white' about a month after baby is born! ANd he is persuading me out of it for the loft, as is the builder! Cream, they said (they mean magnolia don't they? ). I have agreed. Reluctantly . But we are meant to be painting today, finishing of the front room, but I Just Cannot Do it. I am keen theoretically to get painting, I am eager, but I just cannot manage it, luckily the builders are in my way today so that is my excuse!

I so intend to completely ignore my friends ridiculous statement re baby names. He is being a jerk and we told him. I also said that being stubborn and all, I would be more likely to name my child that name, now I know how much it might irritate him .

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 12/10/2009 14:14

sleepless I feel like that too. I keep feeling sad that it won't be just us three any more, that DD might resent us for having to share. I feel guilty as, then have to remind myself that it is normal to give a child a sibling, it happens all the time. I just don't want her to be unhappy and I worry we will

comma your DD sounds adorable! Even at 4am! I slept on the sofa for last couple of hours as I had acid and could not sleep, so shifted around too much. DD came in at 5:45am, snuck past DH and said 'mama, you are in here, what you doing in here? Can I have some room?' then she came in to 'bed' and went to sleep until 6:45am, then back to DH 'i think I want to go cuddle dadda now ok mama?' sooooooooo sweet! DH did not think so though. He did not know she has been up and said gruffly 'back to bed please' and she was so upset!

Hi Ladies,
as we have just moved over the weekend, I will have no internet at home for the next 2 weeks or so. So, sadly I don't have enough time to read through the posts of the last three days but as far as I could see, no one joined lemontop and broodzilla yet.
I hope for the rest everybody is fine.

ursi YEY you moved! Happy Moving In! How is it?

Report
VenusInfers · 12/10/2009 14:32

Pavlov yes, there seem to be a fair few 3rd Tri decorators about. We only moved in a few months ago and although I'd have wanted to do the baby's room wherever we were, the new place needed quite a bit of 'sorting'. There's only so much mint green a girl can take. When are your builders supposed to be finishing? Soon hopefully.

Ursi you have my best wishes - moving house is knackering at the best of times. Hope you have plenty of help to get yourself settled.

Right, better get back to my paintbrushes. A last hour and a half then the glory of naptime!

venus long story about the bulders, we sacked the old builder, who should have been finished by the end of August, and the new builder has promised end of this week. So I shall add on a week for good measure . Mint green, nice in small doses eh? Same as our place - once this is all done, i will finally be rid of the mustard colour that permuated the entire place, only taken 4 years
