Here it is!

easyeggs Hope you got some much-needed rest last night and the birthday celebrations go well today. At least you can put your ex out of your mind for a little while now.

broodzilla Your idea about staging a sit-in made me laugh out loud. Can you imagine us turning up, birthing balls, crutches, corsets and all. The receptionist will offer us a cup of tea and we'll simultaneously reach in our handbags for the raspberry leaf (groaning slightly as we bend over). Then one of us will drop something on the floor (maybe one of wook's pieces of jewellery we've been admiring) and we'll exchange looks for a moment before realising none of us can pick it up They wouldn't know what had hit them.

Very exciting that you are all packed and ready to go! Keep us updated if you get any more contractions.

Kyte really hope you can get the doctor out. Could your PIL come over to help out with lunch?

weston · 02/10/2009 09:31

just dropped DD off at new nursery for first morning by herself, was expecting tears but not one in sight! well not from her anyway! she has been going to child minder so used to be being abandoned but wasn't sure how she would like this as more like school, fingers crossed it all goes well, hard to get up, dressed, breakfast and there for 9am. No idea how will manage with baby in tow! As have mornign to myself was thinking of all jobs I could do but think will get some chocolate and go back to bed!!

And next week is last week at work, yippe exceited at propsect of potentially 5 weeks of rest and realazing (well as relaxed as looking after hyperactive 2.5 year old could be)

Hope ye are all doing well, dont' have energy to read all the posts but hoping to have more time post work!

Tamlin · 02/10/2009 09:39

Kyte, oh you poor thing. I do hope you can get a home visit and that DS is easy on you today.

Scarlotti, do you have an exercise ball..? I sit on mine at my desk rather than a chair. It is also fab because toddlers cannot climb on it to access your computer and papers.

I woke up just before 4 am with the baby doing mad contortions in there, and he kept on partying until 6 am while DH snored on in blissful oblivion. I then fell asleep, woke at 6.30 with DS carolling away, and DH asking me in pathetic tones if he could have a lie-in this morning.

skorpion · 02/10/2009 09:42

kyte very sorry to hear you're not well. I hope the doc comes out and helps you.

pavlov enjoy your day out an on't forget to cram in the cake!

erika I hope you'll take up pavlov's generous offer. She sounds like a women not to be messed with. Just what you need now.

easyeggs so glad that it went well. You really can leave it to them to sort out now and concentrate on your family. Happy b'day to both boys.

broodzilla woo-hoo all zipped up and ready to go! Make sure you have lots of books or anything you prefer to keep you occupied. How exciting!

hobnob that massage sounds wonderful. Brings back memories of being soothed just like that in my childhood. Right, where's that dh of mine... Training time.

Laugs · 02/10/2009 10:07

Can I ask those of you around 34/35 weeks if you are still comfortable wearing heels? I remember last time there was a point when my feet suddenly got really achy, even to be standing for a few minutes, but I can't remember when this starts. I have a wedding to go to at about 34.5 weeks - am I mad to think of wearing heels? (they are stilettos, but not massively high) I know I'm going to feel really frumpy anyway and don't have any dressy flats.

mumsiebumsie · 02/10/2009 10:24

Hello all,

Good news. Had scan yesterday and my low placenta is now a high placenta! Really happy .

Other good news - Health in Pregnancy grant has been paid! Sadly it'll go straight on bills .

Can't remember but I think Helips recommmended Cadbury's Clusters yesterday. Thought it only right I test them out - which I duly did. They're divine, not enough in the bag though. I had that awful experience where you put your hand in the bag and are scratching away before you realise they're all gone . May write in to Mr Cadbury about that.

Trikken · 02/10/2009 11:06

laugs I havent worn heels for ages now, if Im going out anywhere i just stick on my crocs! not because I particularly like them, but i can put them on without struggling. I dont think i could wear stilettos at this stage, but you might be fine in them. I would look for some suitable flats just in case you dont feel comfy in them, or get uncomfy half way through. nothing worse than having uncomfy shoes on at an important function and not being able to do anything about it.

wook · 02/10/2009 11:37

Laugs I am wedded to my high heels-
being a short legged pear shaped person they are the no 1 thing in my wardrobe- but I haven't been able to even think of wearing a pair for the last two weeks- pure foot and pelvis agony. Plus my feet swell up so much I can barely get them on now- or if I can get them on, I can't get them off!!
However, I would wear a pair if I had a wedding to go to I think but you'll have to kick them off to dance for a start and I would stick a pair of flats in my handbag too. Get some of those scholl party feet gel pillows so that you can smile in the photos instead of grimacing.
What about balance? You don't want to fall over
Have you got a nice dress?
Also, a hat will detract attention from the fact you have had to take your shoes off!

I've been galvanised into action on the Etsy front and I reckon I might be able to get myself together by the end of the weekend.

Anyone else with major period pain style backache? I had it for about an hour last night and just wanted to cry.

Broodzilla how's it going??

ErikaMaye · 02/10/2009 12:01

Thanks everyone? You lot do keep me sane sometimes!! Am feeling good today even though I hardly slept, so have decided not to think about anything too much. Just going to have an easy going day.

Pavlov thank you, I?ve emailed you

Raggie I hope you?re feeling a bit better today, your DH sounds very sweet, bless him.

Hobnob I hope your FIL gets some help soon. Sometimes, like you?ve said, you do have to reach the very bottom of everything before you can start trying to climb back up.

Broodzilla that image made me smile! Maybe we should. Would be sure the scare the crap out of them at the very least ? especially when we couldn?t get back up off the floor!!!

Easyeggs at least that gives you a few months to breathe out. Happy birthday to your DS!!

Kyte I hope the doctor can offer you some support, have done similar things when using my stick before, know how painful it can make it. Feel better soon.

Scarlotti hope physio went well.

Weston glad your DD went off without a problem

Laugs - slippers, woman, slippers!!! Or do what my mum does; start off in heels but make sure you have a pair of flip flops in your back to change into after the photos! Don?t know what her excuse is as she hasn?t been pregnant for twelve years, but hey?

Mumsie glad your placenta has moved up!

Wook those kind of back pains here, too. Am getting confused as to what to worry about and what to just get on with ? I?ve never had a water infection before, so I don?t know how its ?supposed? to feel! And with that, ME, SPD and general pregnancy aches? So confusing!!

Am going to DPs tonight, am so glad, as regardless of my good mood right now, I do need some hugs! Feel rather guilty for having to get him to meet me at the bus stop to carry my bag. You?d have thought that after nearly two years of being disabled, I?d stop beating myself up over it!!

Does anyone watch House or Bones? Am so excited, new House this Sunday, new Bones next Thursday ? and the clips from both look amazing!! Eek!!!

Hope you all have a good day, thank you again for your support. x

Kyte glad you are feeling a bit better now, have a fun afternoon pampering yourself! Have you looked on Ebay for second hand Phil and Teds?

laugs I wouldn't even attempt heels now but how bout treating yourself to some pretty ballet pumps? I'm out tonight for a post meal and am planning on wearing my flats, too be honest I think when you are pregnant you can pretty much get away with wearing anything and as long as hair and make-up is looking good then people will say you look glowing!

mumsie yes it was me who recommended the Cadburys Clusters, my god those things are seriously scrummy! I bought a big bag and polished off the lot in one sitting, only felt slightly guilty afterwards! Great news on your placenta moving up, you should celebrate, maybe with another bag of clusters (not that I'm obsessed or anything!)

Erika Glad you are feeling good today, put it out of your mind and concentrate on having a fun weekend with your dp.

helips · 02/10/2009 12:27

Posh not post meal!

Trikken · 02/10/2009 12:44

am going out tomorrow for friends birthday meal, have some sandal type shoes that only have a slight heel but will have to get dh to do them up as cant reach that far.

skorpion · 02/10/2009 13:33

kyte e-bay is a good starting point. There's lots on and you may find someone locally who invites you to take a look at the item before you commit. We're going that route for our pram, it's amazing how much you can save.

Trikken · 02/10/2009 13:50

kyte also check the boards at tesco and the such-like, we found one of our prams off there, and got a bed for ds (which lives at my mums)all for very reasonable prices.and you've got the added bonus that if its on the board its usually going to be pretty close to pick up from.

Fruitpastels · 02/10/2009 14:22

Erika Have a lovely weekend and try and take your mind off things. It will all work out in the end.

Kyte You could have a look on Freecycle or your local newspaper. Netmums have a 'for sale' board so you could check out your region on that. Maybe use a sling when baby is born and keep your eyes open for a good deal on a pram. Sorry to hear you are in such pain. Your PIL sound like great people

mumsie good news!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 02/10/2009 14:42

erica emailed you back luv.

skorpion you reminded me that I used to love my back being ticked as a little girl, so I just did that massage as described by hobnob on DD as she lay watching tv (i know i said no tv but she has been good all day!) after wearing herself out properly at the Aquarium. She dozed and I stopped and she said 'stroke me again mama' all sleepily! Not asleep but very very chilled out .

The aquarium was great. met a lovely woman and 2 of her 4 children, waiting to go in as we got there early. Within 15 mins, DD and her DD same age were best friends and they ran around together, and then we had coffee and chips and exchanged numbers so the girls could meet up again! Totally trashed my plans of burying my head and reading the paper and being just DD and I, but I am glad I did it. It is so easy to isolate yourself and I sometimes have a tendency to do that, I like my own space but it can mean both DD and I lose out opportunities like this. She had a blast and I chatted for hours with this woman. Very successful morning.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 02/10/2009 14:46

ok, NOW i am having pregnant feeling breasts. My bra is feeling too tight, and they are feeling a bit sore and itchy and hot, the way they did when my milk came in! I actually quite like the feeling, they feel more like boobs that can feed a baby now!

skorpion · 02/10/2009 15:06

pavlov great to see you in a better mood.

Been to gp for my 31 week check up. My iron levels have gone down again. So that's from a low 10.5 up to 10.6 down to 10.2
The doc said it is normal in later stages of pregnancy: baby draining it more and more blood in the body generally so stuff gets diluted. I just don't want it to prevent me from being able to deliver at the maternity led unit, though. Anybody has any horse shoes I can chew on, please?
Also found traces of protein in urine so have to go back next week for another check.

Weird, because I feel generally fine.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 02/10/2009 15:24

skorpion eat lots of kedgeree with mackerel and eggs and drink spatone x 2 daily! Hope your wee is fine next week - how are you feeling? I hate protein in my water too, it was a water infection. I felt terrible though, but you don't always.

lemontop · 02/10/2009 15:25

Hi guys

Just a quick note to say what I was having on Tues were not Braxton Hicks but I was in labour! I gave birth to baby Isaac at 5.27pm on Weds. He was 5 weeks and 1 day premature so is having a little difficulty feeding so being kept in SCBU till that's sorted. Other than that he's healthy and totally gorgeous. Will sort out a pic soon. Good luck to you all!

ErikaMaye · 02/10/2009 15:32

OH MY GOODNESS comgratulations Lemontop

Fruitpastels · 02/10/2009 15:32
