erika they are being so underhand. I am sure you must have a good case for harassment. They sound pretty thick as well to be honest - I mean it's not very hard to prove you are pregnant, and neither is it hard for you to prove you have BPD: you have the doctor and the therapist (whom they have contacted) to back you up. If their only argument now is that they don't believe these things are true, then they are going to look pretty stupid when it turns out they are.

I'd go with scarlotti's suggestion and contact the local police. You can file a complaint online if that's easier. DH did this once about something to do with ebay (ie no big deal) and a policeman came round to ours the same evening. Even if they don't decide it's harassment, they might be able to point you in the direction of free legal representation.

Big hugs

broodzilla how are you feeling now? Have you had any more period-type pains?

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 17:15

Erica - CAT me. I am good at dealing with people like this. I will write a letter for you. I know the law around harrassment, around rights etc, yours and theirs (to be honest, they have little rights, and they are trying in on, this is how they get money from people as they do not have the law on their side. I have dealt with this type of situation for DH and friends on many occasion, (for example I do not ever pay parking tickets in private carparks). Sad as it is, I quite enjoy this kind of thing!

So, please CAT me (i can't do it, as my cat sub has run out), and I will be happy to try to sort it quickly for you. In fact, I would love to, I tend to get my angst out on people like this, it is cathartic .

It upsets me and angers me that companies prey on people like this to get money that they cannot do legitimately.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 17:23

wwwww.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/ CAG]] is a great site for templates that can be sent to formally notify of action that you will take re harrassment etc. I use them from time to time and there are forums for advice, where people who have had similar experiences/advice/legal knowledge can guide you in the right direction in terms of how to proceed to stop them doing this. But let me at em!

scorpion do you soak your oats in milk overnight then mix with yoghurt and fruit? That is what I do, but have not had it for ages. Its great. And great minds, I have in fact just eaten some hot buttered crumpets, with tons of real butter....

scarlotti is that right about the baby sleeping until its due date if it is early? in which case, I am not averse to my baby arriving at 36+3 .

Pinkcaz · 01/10/2009 17:47

Hello Everyone,

Erica I'm so sorry to hear this company are being completely awful It will serve them right when they get all they deserve!!

Hope everyone is doing ok

I am so tired... Been to doctors today as been up all night nearly with pins and needles and pains in my right arm, been bad for about a week but last night was the worst! So I am another lucky member of the Carpel Tunnel Syndrome Club Can't get in touch with the physio until tomorrow so goodness only knows when I can get a splint and some sleep

Ah well good practice for getting used to nights of no sleep I guess

x

ursigurke · 01/10/2009 18:00

Good evening all. Well, it seems to have been a rather eventful night and day for many of us, so I'll keep it general. I hope things have improved or will do so for all of you. And just reading your posts made me really hungry.
Broodzilla, I hope you are fine (in whatever situation you are right now) - I think you haven't posted since you told us about your night.
easyeggs, I hope everything went to your favour.
trikken, you seem to have a lovely husband... although if mine would start to sing it would probably have the opposite effect

raggie · 01/10/2009 18:23

Hello all

Sorry to hear the bad news erika. I'd let pavlov get on your case, she sounds like a lady NOT to be messed with. Can't believe how underhand this company is being - they are scumbags (Not envy but an evil eye stare at them)

wook I'd love to see some of your jewellery, sounds wonderful!

I had a mini-breakdown last night when DH came home after drinks for his last night at work. He's off to Oxford now as PhD starting on monday and he's going to do house things this weekend, while I'm off for a weekend with some uni buddies...which will be lovely, but it's just hit me that I won't be seeing much of him. Only weekends when I'm not away, as I am this weekend AND next, (it's my mum's 60th) and maybe once a week when he can get back and I just got so sad and a bit scared - what if something happens?! Doesn't help that I'd just been to the shops and could barely carry the one, fairly light bag I bought. I am becoming helpless! I was sobbing away, which did make me feel a bit better, letting it out. Think it's tiredness form work too, and nervousness about the weeks to come. Anyway, bless him, when I got home tonight, he'd tidied the house, been to the shops for dinner, breakfast and a few treast (Magnums in the freezer!) AND bought me lilies. How lovely?

A knight in shining armour.

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/10/2009 18:25

Hello all!

Just beack from Hippos in Water. I had the most horrendous indigestion today though and thought I was going to be sick in the pool!! Oh god it was bad.

Erika I feel so sorry that this company are hounding you so much. They are just total 'meanies' as DS1 would say.

Easyeggs I hope everything went ok.

I've just introduced DS1 to the wonderful world of the sherbert dip. He's spreading sherbert everywhere!

Sorry to be so self induldgent today. Just with the email last night, and this today its just a nightmare.

Hope you're all well. x

hi, training to be a child psychotherapist and as part of my training i am looking for a mum and new born baby (oct/nov) to observe interacting. it would be once a week for an hour in your home for two years. i would be just watching the interaction and not getting involved in any way. its an invaluable experience for the trainee. i have full police checks and work at childline as a volunteer counsellor. please reply if you think you would be interested. i live in north west london. thanks

hobnob57 · 01/10/2009 21:15

Erika I really hope that you find the strength tomorrow to get this sorted. That company don't have a leg to stand on, and must be spending loads on admin just chasing you! Definitely phone the police or watchdog or someone who can take control of the situation immediately and not have to rely on letters exchanging, etc. whilst you sit and worry.

Thanks for the kind words re. FIL. I know that any action has to come from him, we're kind of hoping that if MIL is threatening to leave and if DH says something then reality might begin to sink in and something might happen. Of course, the converse is probably more likely and he'll wallow but perhaps he needs to get that low first as someone said? DH is very nervous and wants to keep things low key. He's currently assembling ikea shelves bless him, trying to think through things.

the yoga last night seems to have helped my pelvis a lot. My left SI joint was out of whack and we did a thing where you sat with one leg straight and the other bent in (foot at the straight leg) whilst a partner basically pressed her feet into the pelvis (we had a belt around the foot on the straight leg for balance). It was bliss, and I'm so much better today. Must train DH... Also did a weird back massage which was basically a tickle - running the backs of the fingernails over the back and up to the head and down round the arms and back down to the pelvis again whilst you are knelt on the floor and bent over a ball or chair. It was goose-bump-tastic but with my achey pelvis I really found it helpful. It apparently releases endorphins (a bit like a TENS) and reduces the pain you actually feel. To be recommended in between contractions apparently to release things a bit.

Keep the frozen food suggestions coming - I'll be tackling that particular job after I was some baby stuff the week after next. I'm pretty useless with food - I can never think what I want beyond the 'routine' meals we always seem to end up having. I'll confess now to never having made a stew . Might borrow mil's slow cooker (so long as it has a recipe book too!)

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 21:23

hobnob - that tickle massage, I love it. I try really hard to get DH to do it when I want to relax as it is sooooooooooo lovely, but he aimlessly prods at my back while watching shite on tele, not quite the same effect .

karenlevers I think there is a policy where you have to contact us via Mumsnet HQ for any research/media type enquiries. If you look at the bottom of the page there should be a link to them, or if you go into topics there is a section on media/research

Broodzilla · 01/10/2009 21:44

Just checking in so you don't all think I'm labouring away! (It does seem though that labour can start like that... could go on for days apparently, with the stop-starting... I was almost a little disappointed when it seemed that everything had stalled!) I'll be 36 weeks on Monday, so I'm not worried about him being too much of a premie. (I was born at 30 weeks myself, so have long since passed the magic week!)
Wouldn't you know it, I've spent the day cleaning the house, re-arranging his clothes and re-packing the hospital bags. I just had to do it. I've even highlighted the bits on the packing list that can only be done on the day.
DH on the other hand, came home from work and proceeded to re-paint his bike. Seems we each had some last-minute things we wanted to do, just in case the Bean decides to put in an appearance.

Anyhoo, it's all ready now so just waiting. It's a bit exciting if I'm honest. ;)

Sorry to hear about all the crap going on. Erika I wish we could all go over and do a sit-in at the company HQ. Can you imagine a bunch of pregnant ladies rocking up, sitting there looking like we're about to pop and just m-o-a-n-i-n-g until they promise in writing to leave you alone.

Easyeggs Thinking about you, I'm guessing you'll be exhausted even if you've had good news today.

Hobnob and Becky Yoga and Waterhippos sounds lovely! I just bounce away on my ball.

Here's hoping everyone gets a peaceful night's sleep.

EasyEggs · 01/10/2009 22:25

Quick update as have had a totally mad day and poor ds didn't even seem like it was his birthday as it all took so long

Well they were running late so took ages anyway, but got there and met my brief, nice man, bit of a toff though

Gave him all history etc told him I wanted no contact. It took nearly an hour to find out if knob head would be there or not and it turned out he did turn up but court wasn't aware there would be a prisoner attending so they sent him back to his "house" LMAO!

Once we did finally get in there it was just the judge, me, my brief and idiots solicitor. His solicitor told judge his side and what was wanted, then my brief told him why I was contesting ANY contact. Then it was adjorned for reports. What my side want is all his criminal history, all police and court reports from arson incident and any incidents reported to police before that. A new psyche report done on him, all his medical history, drugs test etc. Then social services reports from previous involvements from them and finally a CAFCASS report which is the kids court representatives who will meet with me, then me and kids then kids on their own to find out what we all think/feel about contact. By the time this is all done it will be mid -end Feb next year so looking at going back to court next March.

Good in a way cos it changes nothing so I don't have to let him have anything yet but it's going to cost even more £££££££££ but hey ho it's worth it in the end, I hope!

So fingers crossed for next time but for now I'm going to forget about it as much as I can

Will be back at the weekend as have another mad day tomorrow as it is ds 2's 8th b'day, never ends here.....! Night night x

Ninjacat · 01/10/2009 23:06

Well done for getting through the day Easyeggs.
Hope tomorrows Birthday goes well

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 02/10/2009 08:03

easyeggs wow what an absolutely long and stressful day . Have you ever had any dealings with CAFCASS in the past? I have not personally, but have in my professional role, and my experiences of them are that they are very supportive, take their time to help the courts make the right decision for the children. They will not force anything on you, and they will listen. They are a great mediator especially in situations like this when you do not want anything to do with the ex-partner for obvious reasons. It will be worth it, but it sucks completely that you have to pay at all to ensure that the absolute right decision regarding your children is made .

DD woke up early today (of course she did!) after talking in her sleep about us not letting her watch tv. This means she is watching too much tv imo so we are having a day of no tv. what this means is, as our car stinks of cat pee and poo and DH has not finished the yard, we will get a bus to the play fort which is a little cafe and soft play area. I shall get a newspaper and a coffee and she shall run herself ragged for an hour or two! .

Bump appears to have have grown since yesterday! Maybe the crumpets are working already!

broodzilla oh how exciting! I am very impressed that you are already ready to go, bags and all! 36 weeks is not so early, lungs are fine by that stage aren't they?

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 02/10/2009 08:24

kyte oh you poor thing, thats horrible. Can dh get out early? is there anyone around who can pop in and help at all? I hope Dr will come out.

We are not going to the play fort, we are going to the marine aquarium instead, so dd can see fishes and they have a cafe and play area too so she can run for hours and hours and hours and i shall sleep in the corner read the papers once we have been scared by sharks. It is really expensive though £11 per adult so I am going to pay £25 for adult membership and go lots this winter with DD and the newborn

helips · 02/10/2009 08:25

Easyeggs bet you're glad yesterday is over, hope your ds had a nice birthday in the end and happy birthday to your other dc this weekend!

Broodzilla sounds like you have everything ready for your new arrival, how exciting! Looks like you will be first to pop, should we all start placing bets Also, I love the idea of us all rocking up to the company harrassing Erika, would be great to see the looks on there faces!

Woke up really early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Then I was just dozing off when ds woke up but luckily he came into bed with me for half an hour for a snuggle which was nice. Think he is teething as keeps wanting mummy cuggles as he calls it! Wonder if that is why he was sick the other night, can you be sick when teething?

helips · 02/10/2009 08:27

Sorry, cross posts kyte you poor thing. Hope you feel better soon x

scarlotti · 02/10/2009 09:24

Morning all

easyeggs glad yesterday went well and things are moving in the right direction, albeit very slowly and expensively.

Off to physio in a bit, am nervous about it - how mad is that! Not sure why really but the spd is getting worse so maybe that's it. Sat at the pc yesterday to do some work and my bum was so sore by the end of it - this chair is rubbish but have no other option as no laptop!

Anyway, onwards and upwards today. Had a good night's sleep so going to make the most of the energy today. MIL and FIL are down for the weekend tomorrow as it's FIL's 60th so have shopping and cleaning to do, plus DS has a party to go to tomorrow morning. Gosh, writing it down makes it seem so much worse!! DH out tonight though so at least I can come up to the spare room and mumsnet on the pc without 'deserting' him!

scarlotti · 02/10/2009 09:25

Oops, helips meant to say - teething can cause them to be off colour, they tend to swallow a lot more spit so nappies can get really loose and it can make you feel a little sicky.
Morning snuggles are the best - especially if you're woken up a bit early!
