Here it is!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
longwayaway · 01/10/2009 11:26

Good morning! Haha. I haven't slept past 3am for three nights in a row! Entering delusional stage of sleep deprivation.

That said, my DH was really lovely last night when I broke down crying from frustration at 6am - no singing involved, though I think that's so sweet, Trikken!! He didn't get mad at me for waking him up, which I totally did, out of pure spite, because he'd woken me up earlier... not that something else wouldn't have woken me up anyway... gah.

wook, are you a Libra by any chance? Being one myself I think it would be lovely to have a Libra baby But I don't want this one to be premature so I think I'll have a Scorpio (DH's sign), although my due date is on the cusp, so if I go a day overdue she'll be a Sag. Silly stuff but fun to think about.

Forceps? Ventouse? C-section? LALALALALA [ears covered]

Good luck today, EasyEggs. hobnob sorry to hear about your FIL. Hope the intervention works out and that you can keep stress levels to a minimum within your own household.

Erika sending virtual cake...

Broodzilla · 01/10/2009 11:42

Easyeggs Best of luck today. I'm sure we'll all be sending vibes in your favour to the judge!

Fruitpastels That's reminded me, was it you who had some panic attacks? I read on another thread that they can be side-effects of anti-acids. Apparently it says so on the bottle (can't remember which brand).

Wook Wow, you sound so creative! Definitely put some on Etsy, then link us, Xmas is coming up and all that...

Erika I hope you've blocked that email address? Is there no way to get something akin to a restraining order against this company?

Koumak I kinda like the thought of switching off... Have a feeling DH might panic a bit though.

Trikken AWWWW to the lullaby-singing husband. What a lovely man he is!

Laugs Glad your DD is better and bananas in bed! Sweet!

Hobnob Hope the chat with FIL goes ok, but second whoever said that people with an addiction of any kind are often in denial about it and you may well find yourself on the receiving end of "how dare you...". Either way, try to keep all that out of YOUR little bubble of a family, with a new addition on the way!

Pavlov... 7 pounds?! Want some of mine? I find a daily donut or three does wonders. Seriously though, as long as you've been managing to keep hydrated and keep your vitamins down, the baby will be fine but I'm guessing that'll have something to do with why you've been feeling so low? You've got no reserves! Also, I'm sure I just read somewhere that we're actually likely to LOSE a little in the final weeks (I only remember that because I did a little happy dance!) so if you can face food, try to cram some in.

So, I woke up at 5AM after having a dream about being in labour. Once I was awake, I realized that my back was actually hurting, and I had these cramps that came and went. It went on for a couple of hours, with... I don't want to call it a contraction (I don't know what they feel like!) but like a period painy thing lasting for about 45 seconds. They came every 5 minutes or so, but I fell asleep eventually and when I woke up again they'd gone. What is that? Does labour sometimes stop-start? Was it a pre-warning?

And... have you all seen that there's a full moon on Sunday? You know they say that most babies are born around then? I wonder if we'll all be here for the Monday morning count still?

helips · 01/10/2009 12:32

Erika I can't believe that company has started emailing you, this is harrassment!! Feel so on your behalf, you should not have to deal with that crap. Can you get your dad or someone to respond on your behalf? Go and eat some cake and feel better!

Is it bad that I have eaten a whole big bag of cadbury's clusters? They are seriously moorish and if you haven't tried them I can thoroughly recommend them (pavlov a great excuse for you to eat them especially!)

broodzilla how are you feeling now? Does sound like mild contractions but could just be your body practising for the real thing. Speak to your midwife if they come back, could you be the first to pop?!

Ds is having a nice long nap but seems to be a lot better. He managed a piece of toast this morning and hasn't been sick today so hopefully he is on the mend. I am in a bit of pain though. Went to the chiropractor this morning, I have to go once a month because of bad back. Anyway, he treated my pelvis area as it has been a bit sore recently but if anything it feels worse for it. In fact I can hardly walk now and it has totally stiffened up. Oh well, will just have to lie on the couch and mumsnet for the rest of the afternoon!

Trikken · 01/10/2009 12:36

thanks, i am lucky to have dh.

Just had an answer-phone msg from the dr's, saying they've made up a prescription of iron tablets for me. so im guessing my blood test from last week is in and i am slightly iron-deficiant.

Anyone had any adverse reaction from taking iron tabs as im slightly weary(sp?) about taking them.

tigger32 · 01/10/2009 12:44

Afternoon All,

easyeggs thinking about you today, I really hope things go your way. Also Happy Birthday to your lo

erika sending hugs and cake your way! Is there a way of blocking an email address? That company really are the pits

trikken what a lovely dh you have.

pav 7lb I'm I have refused to be weighed, may just take a look when I go into labour so I have something to compare after the birth.

I've been to see the midwife this morning, all fine except for trace of sugar in wee, (maybe down to the chocolate biscuits I ate last night) . Baby is head down 3/5th engaged, although she said as he/she is my 3rd may well pop out again. Going to get blood re tested in 2 weeks to give me a better chance of being over 10.5!

Laugs · 01/10/2009 12:45

trikken I was prescribed iron tablets and they made me really sick a few times. Then again, pregnant women used to all take iron as a matter of course, so I wouldn't actually be wary of it. Another midwife recommended I take Spatone instead (it's a drink of water with a high iron content), which I've started doing and I feel much better. I haven't been sick once and I might be imagining it but I do feel more energetic.

broodzilla that does sound like how contractions feel when they start. I'm getting very excited now! Not because I think you are going into labour now, but because one of us will be very soon (bagsy not me though, I still have 8 weeks before my due date)

erika did your therapist write to that company for you? I can't believe they have started emailing you!

tigger32 · 01/10/2009 12:46

trikken I've been on iron tablets for the last month and was the same with ds2, I find I'm ok if I take them at night. (I feel sick if I take them in the morning) Take with a glass of orange juice to help them work better!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 13:36

I had a dream too that I was in labour last night Broodzilla* But I actually had him, and he was a her. And she arrived when I was 34 weeks, which is next week and we called him a name which I cannot remember but was not on our list but which I liked (obviously girls name!). I really hope you are not yet in labour. It could be just how your body reacts to BS?

I have just had an epic shop delivered from tesco. none of the codes worked that I tried, apart from the 750 points. AND, typically, after all the bogofs I thought I had bought, only saved a tenner but they did substitute a £2.50 packet of free range chicken thighs with a £4 monster packet and refunded the difference. However they also substituted my enormous packet of doritos with a tiny packet and only gave me 8 crumpets not 12! I can eat 8 crumpets in one go!

My diet is going to consist this week of - avocados made into guacamole dip, houmous, soured cream and chips, banana and peanut butter sarnies. wook you remind me I forgot the breadsticks to go with my bogof philidelphia! I have a ton of greek yoghurt and some tinned prunes (DH was not impressed!), porridge to mix with yoghurt. I am going to smother everything in olive oil and cheese too. I also forgot ice cream to put into smoothies. And for some reason I bought too much of everything which means I am going to have to do a big cookup! DH said that as I had mentioned tupperware I am clearly nesting (i did that last time, cooked food for an army the day before dd arrived).

Sweet food - i would love to stuff down the donuts, but sweet food makes me sick. Not always, but my body has to be in the mood . I really love trifle though. I just had left over sweet and sour tofu and noodles for lunch and then had a yoghurt, did not settle so well, but I am going to aim to eat a little of something each hour or two.

At birth, your baby will weigh approximately 3,300g (7.3lb).

? During pregnancy, the muscle layer of your womb (uterus) grows dramatically and weighs an extra 900g (2lb).

? The placenta (afterbirth), which keeps your baby nourished, weighs 600g (1.3lb).

? Your breasts weigh an extra 400g (0.9lb).

? Your blood volume increases and weighs an extra 1,200g (2.6lb)
? You have extra fluid in your body, and amniotic fluid around the baby, weighing 2,600g (5.7lb).

? Plus, you will lay down some fat during your pregnancy to provide you with extra energy for breastfeeding. This comes to about 2,500g (5.5lb).

so by this - I have in fact - lost weight. broodzilla is explains why I have felt so low, yes. And I shall work hard to remedy it for these last couple of weeks. I cannot continue like I am. Not sure what DHs excuse is though

scarlotti · 01/10/2009 13:38

Hi all

Hope everyone is doing ok - have just read so many posts I can't remember specifics again.
easyeggs thinking of you today

erika agree with the others, this sort of behaviour from the company really needs to stop. Can you call CAB again and get an appointment?

Pav kindred spirits indeed me thinks how are you doing today? I wonder if your energy stores being so low is also having an impact? I feel much more down when tired and don't feel the need to eat as much then either. How about some nice smoothies with full fat yoghurt in? Or some yughurt and granola with honey? Great that you now have a chillout room, just what you all need I think.

Well, we had the night from hell!! Dh and I think it's nature's way of getting us ready. DS woke at 3 with some sort of nightmare. I went down to try to settle him, open the door and put the light on as he was scared. I can barely walk at nights due to the spd. Dh then went down as he wouldn't settle and spent half an hour calming him down.
Ds then woke at 5 as light still on so I took him back down. Then he came back up at 6 and got in with us, didn't really snooze so everyone exhausted this morning.
Luckily I went back to bed at 8 and slept until 11!! Feel so much better now but also very guilty as poor dh is shattered at work.

A taste of times to come I think [sticks head in the sand]

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 13:38

easyeggs meant to say also, good luck for today, hope it all works out as well as it can, and it is not too stressful for you. I am thinking of you. Also, Happy Birthday to your current baby !! Hope as soon as this is over today you can do something lovely with him to celebrate xx

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 13:39

scarlotti I have bought a TON of full fat yoghurt for smoothies .

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 13:42

Sorry you had such a shit night scarlotti that is awful. BUT don;t feel too sorry for your DH at work being tired. At least he is not home looking after a LO and tired! I sometimes found going to work provided me with some sanctuary when I was shattered and DD was home with DH! But I guess it depends on what he does, if it is a physical job not so good.

I could quite happily go for a nap right now. But I should probably eat some food instead

scarlotti · 01/10/2009 13:43

Pav x-posts but great news on the contents of your shop!! Take heart in the fact that the baby will take all it needs to grow properly at whatever detriment to your body. Whilst you need more energy at least you can rest assured your baby is ok.

I tend to lose weight in my pg's but not to that extent. I've not really put any weight on in the last month or so - I suspect the baby is taking all he needs and some is disappearing from my thighs.

At least, that's what I keep telling myself

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 13:45

Laugs · 01/10/2009 13:49

pavlov: "i did that last time, cooked food for an army the day before dd arrived"

Don't scare me! This morning I have cooked 12 meals for 3 for the freezer! Feeling very pleased with myself (I'm not very domesticated; never made anything to go in the freezer before) and also really itching to make more...

Ninjacat · 01/10/2009 13:56

Just back from a very dull anti natal class. Ours are held by the physio so all very anatomical. Now really concidering NCT. No one stuck around after either so how am I supposed to have any post natal mates? Hmmm

scarlotti · 01/10/2009 13:56

Laugs there's plenty of room in my freezer if you have a desire to fill ...

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 01/10/2009 14:53

I found that with the nhs ones ninja, did not bother doing it this time. What I do not know, I don't want to know!
laugs ooooh, your nesting my dear! I am quite disorganised by nature. I am terrible in the kitchen as in I make a mess and then run out of steam - when I was pg with DD, i went to see consultant who had booked me in for an induction on the monday, so that friday I saw it as 'd-day' I guess. I had an overwhelming urge to cook rather than clean, and I went and bought tupperware, correct sizes and all, labels and a black pen! I made 3 different lasagne, one meat stew for DH split into 4, one veggie stew split into 4, meat and veggie spag bol split into 4 and a huge batch of soup. By 4pm I had cooked, cleaned the sides, washed up, poured into their containers and had the lids written out with name of each item and the date on, and had them cooling ready to freeze. I also cleaned out the freezer to make space! 25 hours later, after a 'last supper' my waters broke But I am not sure if this was spurred on by the fact I had a 'date' to work towards, so to speak.

I have just eaten 100g of tortilla chips, and quarter tub of houmous and about the same of a small tub of soured cream. DH came in and I smacked his hands away .

He and a friend have had the unfortunate task of clearing our backyard after the builder left it in a state - there is a load of rubble underneath chipboard etc and cats have wee'd and poo'd in it and its just awful. Poor friend was doing it as a favour for DH helping him move a mattress to the tip that'll learn him

Tamlin · 01/10/2009 15:00

Oh, to have weight disappearing off my thighs! Quite the reverse, regrettably, and it's absolutely all my fault - I'm usually a bit lactose-intolerant, but (weirdly enough) it eases up during pregnancy so I go a bit hog-wild with the full-fat milk and ice cream. Getting on the scales this morning, I appear to have gained 4 kg in the last WEEK. Pav and Scarlotti, have some ice cream on me - I'm going to have to stick with salad and bananas for the rest of this pregnancy unless I want to give birth to the Michelin Man and wind up with a Frankenvagina full of stitches.

Broodzilla, hmm... that does sound as if things might be preparing to gear up?!

scarlotti · 01/10/2009 15:08

Ha ha pav DD's arrival was similar - a whole morning helping ex-dp clean flats he'd been labouring on for a month then that night waters broke.

Broodzilla if it is things gearing up, don't panic - DD was born at 36+3 and was (and still is) perfectly fine. One of the plus points was no tears at all, just a graze, and baby sleeps for a few weeks almost until 'proper' due date.

Oh, how exciting ... as long as it's not me yet as now have that bit of work finally so need more time!!!

skorpion · 01/10/2009 15:11

Oooh, pavlov, I have porridge oats with youghurt for breakfast. Have it with half a tin of cooked apple slices or prunes and a good handful of chopped up almonds for the calories and yummy crunch!

How about cheese on toast or toasted crumpets? That should get the calories in but you can have it in small quantities. If you're after ideas for food, this is the right place. We'll soon fatten you up!

ErikaMaye · 01/10/2009 15:14

Sorry can't read everyones posts right now, am in floods of tears, am angry and upset.

My therapist just called me to say someone from the company have been in touch - apparently I'm obviously not ill as I was capable of going to the photo shoot in June. Implied I'm probably lying about the pregnancy as well. Just so I can get out of a mess that only I am responsible for.

Really loosing it here.

scarlotti · 01/10/2009 15:30

Erika you really need to try and get some help to get this sorted. I'd suggest you phone the police as they will be able to point you in the right direction if they feel this isn't a case of harassment.
Our local non-emergency line is 0845 60 70 999. Tell them all of what's gone on - they help out in all sorts of different situations so don't be shy.

Whilst the temptation is to block it all out, this won't go away on its own so you need some assistance to know how to get it sorted.

skorpion · 01/10/2009 15:44

erika I know it's difficult to do, but do not let comments like this get to you. This is an ugly shot below the belt designed to rattle you. Why would you have a therapist if you didn't need one fgs? I hope he/she used some strong words.
I agree with scarlotti - action must be taken. You have people in rl who can support you through this. It has gone too far now and the company must face the consequences. Be strong.

helips · 01/10/2009 16:44

Oh Erika that company really is the pits. Can you tell us their name so that we can all harrass them for you! They sound really desperate to be taking such cheap shots, hope your therapist gave them what for. Big hugs to you lovey...
