BexJ78 · 22/10/2009 12:46

no, not just you Claire. Both me and DH were dewy eyed when we watched 'Strictly Come Dancing - It takes two' on monday night and Christina the pro dancer was crying. is this what we have come to?!?!

Welcome to Little Gems. Hope everything is going well with you.

I finish work 3 weeks today....hooooraaahhh!

lolianja · 22/10/2009 13:28

Hi girls.

ARGH - baby A is breech and very low (almost engaged in my pelvis)! They'd both been breech throughout until the other day and then I thought that things were happening and shuffling about and I was so excited (if in considerable pain!)... and it's the wrong one. They're unwilling to let me deliver naturally if a) both are breech or b) Baby A is breech. I prayed that A would turn but it seems whilst B did, A felt it would far more fun to sit happily bum-lodged in my pelvis.

My hips are killing me, it's getting harder and harder to pick up my almost-8-month-old giant son and now I'm whinging, sorry

Hope everybody else is well.

TheBlairSnitchProject · 22/10/2009 13:49

DH and I chose DS's name based on it being the only one we agreed on I decided I loved Catherine/Kitty quite early on and nothing else has seemed as good ever since...guess I'll have to keep working on DH!

My pregnancy hormones seem to be making me panic about everything! Baby, Center Parcs, Christmas!! It's all driving me crazy! No sore ribs yet though.

Feel free to winge Loli, we're all achey and sore but it must be twice as hard for you!

Got my Big City Garage for 20% off Shop assistant did try telling me I had to have the free cars instead but I perisited and she called her manager who OK-ed it What with that and the other shopping I did while I was out and an Amazon delivery that had come while I was at the shops, I've got quite a few Christmas presents sorted now. Should keep the panic at bay for a day or two.

Took the new buggy with me too so I could give it a good test drive - I love it

madmissy · 22/10/2009 16:14

loli you must be mega uncomfy! my mum was talking about when she was pregnant with my sisters the other day and saw pics of her, shes so tiny that she looked like a weeble lol

did you fall pg straight away? 8 month son!?

what buggy are you looking at getting?

ArghhhhmazingBouncingSpider · 22/10/2009 16:16

Vouchers have been sent!

Came home from work early, just cant be arsed with it anymore plus my boss wasnt feeling well so he had the heating up full ball and I was about ready to pass out!

Glad you managed to get the 20% off snitch. Shame I didnt get my excuse for an arguement!

lolianja · 22/10/2009 16:28

Hi madmissy.

I actually don't look mega huge at the moment, I feel it because I was never this big with my son, Jimmy (even though he was 9lbs 8.5oz and I'm thin as a pin!). I'm carrying no bigger than a singleton pregnancy but this is primarily because I'm tall and from a family where the women tend to carry TINY and also because I'm suffering from low amniotic fluid levels. Which have thankfully evened out a bit of late but still v low for both twins and having to be monitored closely.

Yes, my son was a month old when these two were conceived. Am no longer with the father of these two (well three!) though, am engaged to somebody else. It's all a bit complex but not quite as dreadful as it probably sounds. Everything/everybody on pretty decent terms at the moment, don't know how I'd stand it otherwise! Still got another couple of weeks left of work too - gahh!

We're all set to purchase the iCandy Pear btw

madmissy · 22/10/2009 16:38

ooh i like the pear heavy but looks good and both can face you good choice lol

as for sounding awful not at all! nice that you are engaged and are looking forward to future!

how many weeks are you now? you're doing well with twins... are they keeping eye on the fluid as to when they will deliver you?

lolianja · 22/10/2009 16:51

Am just coming up 31 weeks and have had an early induction discussed although the consultant did say that there wouldn't necessarily be any need unless the fluid levels dipped again or the babies became adversely affected in any way. Obviously with the lack of fluid they don't want them to get too cramped either. The babies are on the small side, unlike their whopper of a brother!, but are developing absolutely fine.

Now I'm just reconciling myself to a c-section, since baby A is breech. Really wanted to avoid it and last time (giving birth vaginally) was so quick and easy but c'est la vie I suppose! It was bound to be more complicated this time round.

Still a bit dizzy at the prospect of having 3 children at 21 when I was meant to be at uni by this stage, but definitely too late for what ifs now!

Yep, I picked the pear because I didn't like the idea of them both not facing me. Think I may have been a little seduced by the iCandy website as well.

TheBlairSnitchProject · 22/10/2009 16:54

OOh, I was at the city center yesterday and thought it was too hot in general! It must have been awful with the heating on!!

Sorry you didn't get to argue but your advice did help. I probably wouldn't have pushed to not have the cars otherwise Hey, you wouldn't happen to have any Happyland Windmills at your shop would you? SIL has promised my niece one and was told today that there are none left in MK at all!!

Congratulations on your engagement Loli.. Very jealous of you not looking big even with twins! I got told by 3 people at toddler group on Tuesday that I looked ready to drop! Really must stop going to that place!

madmissy · 22/10/2009 17:03

hey im having 3 under 4 and i am 25 in dec you will be fine!

jumblies · 22/10/2009 18:05

Hi everyone,

argghamazing sorry you had a meltdown the other day, was it due to tiredness? I think the home stretch of pregnancy is always the hardest esp with a toddler to contend with also. Thanks again for posting the discount vouchers.

victoriamac I think it's fine to match the sling to your personal style....the baby won't care

madmissy glad your placenta has moved. I have a scan in november to find out if mine has, so fingers crossed. I actually wouldn't have minded having a caesarian if it were not for having to be mobile for DD. I am much more afraid this time round about giving birth than last time .

blairsnitch I hear you on the sore hips!I was in so much pain this morning...it's bugger that we have to sleep on our sides as I'm sure thats whats doing it. I am so much more niggly this pregnancy than last, bits of me seem to be falling apart left, right and centre Ah well only another 9 weeks to go! I love the name catherine btw, it is pretty and a classic. Charlotte is nice too but quite popular where I am.

welcome to the thread littlegems lolianja I think you are probably the perfect age to cope with 3 little ones. I had bags of energy and could stay up all night at 21, you can always do uni part time when the children get a little bit older and you will still be young. Glad you have your pushchair sorted, but what will you do about your older one are you planning on slinging one of the babies?

Must dash as haven't started on dinner yet

Hope everyone is feeling good.

ArghhhhmazingBouncingSpider · 22/10/2009 19:55

Snitch Do you mean the pink farm windmill thing? If so then yes we have some.

Jumblies, meltdown was due to DH having to work another week down in London, me having lost half a stone since becoming pregnant, my parents being away on holiday, my childminder being away on holiday, having no money because its payday tomorrow and being unable to look after the dog because I was at my sisters being looked after (!) and she has parrots so the dog isnt very welcome!!

To top it off this very night ive been at panic stations because NotSoDH didnt phone me at usual time to say goodnight to DS and his phone went straight to voicemail when I tried to phone him I didnt know the name of the hotel he's staying in and I had all manner of awful situations going through my head.
He was in the pub... So he's not in my good books right now.

Feels quite nice to get that off my chest.

TheBlairSnitchProject · 22/10/2009 20:14

Arghh - this thing. If you ahve some in that's fantastic. If I call the shop tomorrow do you think they would hold one for me till DH goes back to work on Monday so i can send him over to pick it up in his lunch hour? He's got tomorrow off so we can go and see my Grandad in Doncaster.

Sorry to hear you're still having a hard time. Grr at your DH for worrying you and not phoning to say goodnight to his son! Blokes are just rubbish sometimes. Hope things get better soon. how long have you got left at work?

ArghhhhmazingBouncingSpider · 22/10/2009 20:47

Yeah we have them, dont call tomorrow the boss wont hold it any longer than till the end of same day (nob)
He goes on holiday on Saturday so I will put one aside for you then, Im pretty sure im in on Monday anyway.
I have next week at work and thats it!! Yay for me.
Hope your Grandad is feeling better and that he enjoys seeing your DS again, its really good that he remembers him, I think the older some people get the more attention they pay to the little ones, my Grandmother absolutely dotes on Jake and thinks the sun shines out of his little backside yet she never bothered with any of us when we were younger!

TheBlairSnitchProject · 22/10/2009 21:11

That would be wonderful if you could.. I shall send DH over to pick it up on Monday SIL was really pleased when I told her. Thank you so much!

My Grandad was amazing when I was little. He used to own a butchers shop down the road from where we lived and as soon as I was old enough, I was allowed to ride my bike down to him to help out at on a Saturday. I had a matching apron and hat and used to put eggs in boxes for old ladies and get sent to the back of the freezers to get bits of meat. I'd make burgers and sausages and at the end of the day I'd help sweep the floors then he'd take me next door to the newsagent and buy me a bar of chocolate as my 'wages'

I miss him so much even though he's still here

jumblies · 22/10/2009 21:35

ahhhbouncing that sounds like a recipe for a meltdown, just remember you only have 1 week left till you can put your feet up and hopefully pile some weight on! I remember having a complete meltdown at my DH when he went to the pub for a colleagues farewell drinks saying he would be back by 10 and didn't roll in till 2! I was 37 weeks pregnant and he had left his mobile at home...I was not a happy bunny at all.

Our latest news here is that DD has been diagnosed with swine flu. We have been given tamiflu but she seems to be on the mend so I'm not sure if it is worth it to give it at this late stage. I hope I don't come down with it, does anyone think it's worth me asking the gp to vaccinate me asap in the hope that I can prevent it

TheBlairSnitchProject · 22/10/2009 21:51

Good News!! DH has agreed that we can call DD Catherine but only on the understanding that I never call her Kitty

Maybe he never needs to know ;)

She seems to be celebrating having a name by having a really good stretch. It's really sore and uncomfortable.

Sorry to hear your DD is poorly jumblies I would have thought now you'd come into contact with it that it would be too late to vaccinate. But then I am a SAHM not a Doctor so it's probably worth ringing them anyway

Moosy · 22/10/2009 23:10

Jumblies, even if it's too late for the jab they might give you something like preventative Relenza to stop it being so bad, but like Snitch says, I'm only a SAHM not a doctor too!

jumblies · 23/10/2009 08:40

thanks guys, am going to phone the doctor later. I feel fine today so probably they will tell me to just wait and see.

cairnterrier · 23/10/2009 08:58

Hi everyone, glad to hear that all is going well w everyone's bumps.

Just wanted to check, is anyone else feeling absolutely exhausted? I couldn't get up on Wednesday as I was so tired - slept all night, then for another couple of hours in the morning, managed to make it to the couch downstairs then another couple of hours in the afternoon and DH came home from work to find me tucked up in my PJs. I then slept all night, did half a days work yesterday (am self-employed), slept again all night and am just about to put myself back to bed again for another nap!

Am I being v lazy and self-indulgent ( I keep on thinking w great guilt about all those with older children who still need to be looked after and can't lie about all day) or alternatively trying to push myself too hard with working to earn money before I have to stop and needing to accept that I probably now need to rest. It's my first pregnancy so all this is v new. Usually I'd be up at the crack of sparrows raring to go so this is v strange and slightly upsetting for me :-(

cairnterrier · 23/10/2009 09:00

PS forgot to say that I've got through an e-mail to say that the Mamas and Papas mid-season sale is on at the moment. They were doing things like 2 gro-bags for the price of 1 a couple of days ago. Some offers I think are only via their website though.

Claire236 · 23/10/2009 11:11

Blairsnitch - I'm sure people (you) will just start calling her Kitty once she arrives. You know how nicknames catch on. My nan always remembers me, dh & ds although she doesn't remember anyone else all the time. I wonder if it's because we live in Germany so we're fixed in her long term memory as she doesn't see us that often. I know what you mean about missing your grandad as I feel the same about my nan. Alzheimers is a terrible condition.

Cairnterrier - I've been signed off work & not allowed to do hardly anything for almost 8 weeks now but I'm still exhausted all the time. One of the many joys of pregnancy. Mention it to your midwife though so she can check you're not anaemic but try not to let it upset you & rest as much as you can (easier said than done I know). I like your name btw, we've had a couple of cairns in our family & they're great if alarmingly stubborn little dogs.

sparklycheerymummy · 23/10/2009 11:15

BlairSnitch....... i love the name Catherine.... its my dds middle name!!!! My friend has just had a baby boy this morning 8lb9.5 ozs and 11 days over due!!! So am reallgy giddy for her though i think i will get impatient now she has had her baby as it has been lovely being pregnant together!!! Wanted to go see her straight away but my dd has swine flu obviously will be steering clear. Not given dd tamiflu and she is doing well..... 17 kids off in her class of 30 with a variety of tummy bugs and levels of swine flu but not good. Am praying i dont get it but think that is wishful thinking. Doc atually saw us as NHS helpline acually said it wasnt swine flu..... by time we got to docs her temp was up and she was achy (NHS didnt ask about being achy) Doc advised against Tamiflu as she said it is making children very sick.... runs and hallucinating??!!! she is doing really well on alternate doses of calpol and nurofen!! My doc also said that on a personal level..... she would not advise me to have the swine flu vaccination..... she had the same concerns as me about its lack of research in effects on the baby........ sure this has probably come up before but what do you guys think.

Achy hips..... yes awful....and cant lie on back cos cant breathe!!!!

exhaustion..... absolutely.... fell asleep eating tea last night!

jumblies...... havent read all the posts but my pregnant friend was given some sort of inhaler to help with the swine flu??!!! she is 34 weeks and she recovered in 3 days absolutely fine! Dont know what i will do if i get it though!!!!! like i said my doc advised against the vaccine.... but apart from her personal feeling there is no medical evidence that it is bad for you or baby! fingers crossed we dont get it.

cairnterrier · 23/10/2009 11:16

Thanks Claire, my bloods at 28 weeks ended up being taken at 29 weeks as I couldn't get into the appt so they were only a couple of weeks ago and I'm assuming that all was fine. Guess I'll just have to rest when I can, I'm sure in 9 weeks I'd do anything for this time to just relax!

Cairnterriers are great dogs aren't they? We had one when I was growing up and we still miss him dreadfully. Very funny and very independently minded small dogs :-)

sparklycheerymummy · 23/10/2009 11:21

sorry jumblies just read back and it wasnt swine flu you were talking about but hope dd is better now. my dd also had a sickness and runs bug last week so it must be our turn for illness but hopefully we are getting through it now!
