Congratulations Thusnelda!

mummyhill · 25/09/2009 11:59

I love the name by the way. My nan was called Freda (My great Grandfather wasn't sure of the spelling bless).

Minshu · 25/09/2009 12:06

Newbie - the hospital hasn't given me any dates, but the local policy is EDD + 14 when there are no medical reasons otherwise, so that would be 6th for me. I'm looking for signs too - have some "tugging" sensations in my lower abdomen, but that could be from too much bouncing last night rather than anything else... I do feel like I'm getting closer, somehow, but nothing I can put my finger on.

On the enquring comments front, DP seems to be getting it worse than me. Because we work together, everyone who knows me through work is asking him face to face, rather than texting or mailing me. It's a bit odd really, 'cos if there was any news, you'd think it would be obvious from him not being there to hassle ask. On the whole, I'm pre-empting other enquiries with "nothing to tell you" texts, calls and mails.

Wonderful news from Thusnelda.

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT

Hiya all sorry i havent been around in a couple of weeks due to my bp going up and down like a yoyo i was on total bedrest and my arms cudnt reach the pc in the living room (i sooo need a laptop lol) anyway......

Macie Jennifer was born on the 16th Sept by c-sec weighing 5lb 10oz

The section didnt go to plan i was in theatre for 3hrs, i took them 4 goes to get the spinal in then after an hr it still hadnt worked it was patchy, so they tried again and after half hr it still hadnt worked so they had to do an epidural and keep topping it up.

While trying to get the spinal in they kept hitting a nerve and i was getting shooting pains down my right leg and a painful tingling sensation in my toes, i still get them every now and then if im on my feet to long or i move quickly, the midwife reckons some nerve damage is common and it should get better in a few weeks (well i hope so anyway)

Congrats to everyone else whose had their babies and good luck to those still waiting

mummyhill · 26/09/2009 18:18

Congratulations MumGoneCrazy So sorry it didn't go as smoothly as it should. I hope you are recovering well and that Macie is gaining weight nicely.

Fingers crossed for you here, too, mummyhill!

A more productive reason for being on MN at this ridiculous hour than my indigestion

Sorry you're still here, StayFrosty - had hoped that the quiet from you was indicative... LOL for your poor mum - my DP sympathises.

StealthPolarBear · 27/09/2009 14:15

Then I'm keeping everything crossed for some news for you very soon, so that you can indeed take giant strides with new baby Frosty

Oh Kerrrist! You needed that! Would it be any consolation to you that two people I knew with bad SPD recovered really quickly? I only had it mildly, and mostly it was worse if I did silly things like trying to sit cross legged, but haven't had even a twinge of it since DS was born.

Birth Announcement

Hi all.

Abigail Leigh Hill made a spectacular arrival at 7.15 am weighing 8lb 4 oz.

Cried, did an excellent impression of a smurf which resulted in crash team descending whilst anothe team worked with me trying to work out if I would need to go to surgery for retained placenta!

Everything turned out fine and we were discharged 5 hrs later so am home resting.
