Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

ScaredOfEverything - how exciting to see the little one and a heartbeat - can't wait to see mine!

RnB, sorry you're having such a stressful time, hope things improve.

DH and I wanted to wait a few more weeks before telling anyone, so haven't even told my parents yet. Bit tricky as they're over for a few days and i think they're suspicious that i've turned down a trip to the pub the lst 2 nights. Feeling much better today, which is great.

Pheww,

I'm struggling to keep up with the thread but lovely to see everyone's stories. RnB I'm sorry to to hear about your brother. Is he improving? Wouldn't it be lovely to avoid all stress for the next 9 months? Fat chance. My mum is mentally ill (chronic psychosis for last 20 years). I managed to drag her to a GP last week just to register her and get her referred to the community mental health team and a general check up. Had urgent call from GP yesterday to say her blood tests look very worrying & she may have to have an urgent referral to a Consultant . I'm scared it's the big C but we'll have to see. DH is very supportive but at times like this wish I had siblings...

BiscuitStuffer · 07/10/2009 06:34

Oh RnB and Love2Dance - I am so sorry you're having such a worrying time. My mum isn't well either - sometimes it's ok and sometimes it isn't.

I'm also starting to pudge up but that's because I've been having 2 cooked meals a day and yesterday I didn't stop eating inbetween!

Is anyone else getting hot flushes?

ClaireDeLoon · 07/10/2009 08:12

Love2dance hope everything is ok with your mum

minimoonumbertwo · 07/10/2009 09:33

Oh no, Mum issues, so sorry to hear that Biscuit & Love2dance. It's silly but it's like you need them more when you're pg and so difficult when you are the one mothering them instead.

Okay so it's boring but i'm afraid to report that drinking water & eating more healthily DOES seem to be helping the sickness! eg had muesli & banana for breakfast this morn instead of cappucino (decaff!) and croissant & managed to eat the whole thing instead of giving up half way through. Also i feel less guilty and less like i am going to just become an enormous heifer!! oh also ginger tea provides some temporary relief...

RnB how are things today? Den26 good luck with the scan - looking forward to hearing about it!

mampam · 07/10/2009 12:26

Hiya, can I join please?

I'm due on the 1st June, I'm 29 and this is my 3rd child although my first 2 DC's are from a previous marriage so this will be my DH's first baby.

The sickness is just starting to kick in with me at the moment and I feel rotten. I'm absolutely shattered which isn't helped by the fact that I work in the evenings and to be truthful I'm pretty useless at work at the moment as my brain is all over the place!!

I'm just trying to remind myself that hopefully in about 6 weeks time I'll start to feel a bit better.

I don't know about anyone else but I look pregnant already!! Ok so people will probably just think that I'm putting on weight but I think I look so huge because I can't suck my tummy in anymore!!
My jeans are already starting to get very uncomfortable around my middle!!!

RnB · 07/10/2009 12:54

Love2dance - hope your mum is ok.

Thanks to everyone My brother is still improving thankfully.

Congratulations and welcome Mampam - I'm in the same situation as you - I have two children already (7&8) and this is my partners first baby.

I also feel huge - have given up on jeans and am onto floaty dresses. Am starting to wonder if my dates are wrong as I feel so big!

MummyWantsANewBag · 07/10/2009 14:16

Hello all, am delighted to join you. I think I'm due June 15th, I'm a SAHM with our 7 month DD and very excited to have another. I'm about to move house (twice - don't ask!) so I think I have a busy few months ahead. I will have limited internet access during the moves so might not be a fulltime member I'm afraid!

minimoonumbertwo · 07/10/2009 14:21

Welcome mummywantsanewbag!

okay so my new healthy regime is going really well - further to my posting earlier i have now had 2 ham & cheese rolls, 2 choc chip cookies & a huge slice of carrot cake!! no wonder i feel sick all the time

ClaireDeLoon · 07/10/2009 15:06

Welcome mampam and MummyWantsaNewBag. MummyWantsANewBag that is a small age gap you will have!

I went to my GP who tried to get me an appointment to be scanned at EPU because I had had tummy pains. I hadn't been worried about the pains at all as others had had them and they just like muscles aching. As EPU wouldn't see me he sent me down to Gynae so was there for ages just for them to say it's probably OK and just muscles stretching etc. They took bloods and said they would call me if the levels are higher for me to be scanned.

So, my GP hasn't booked me in to see midwife as he wants me to go back next week after my scan that I haven't had.

What a complete and utter waste of a morning oh well!

MummyWantsANewBag · 07/10/2009 15:15

Claire I could have written that post in my last pregnancy. I had pains on one side, booked into EPU, they refused to scan me (too early - well why book me in then?!) then off to gyno ward and then had to go back 4 days later for scan - thankfully everything was fine but it was a lot of heartache and faff!

ClaireDeLoon · 07/10/2009 15:44

It's crazy isn't it?

I did ask the GP for an early scan but I meant at 8 weeks! It was awful sitting waiting in gynae as I was on my own as DP was at work, expecting the doc visit to be a simple booking in procedure. I was almost glad they didn't scan me as I don't really want to find out yes it's OK or no it isn't on my own. I honestly don't think the pains are anything to worry about so I'm not concerned at having wasted the morning really. I think pians like you describe are very different, mine are just achey muscles.

At least I did get to see one of the junior doctors in gynae though and she explained some things to me, I already knew I have a bicornuate uterus and a small fibroid and she drew diagrams etc explaining them both and saying how they could impact so it wasn't a totally wasted morning.

Anyway I will add you and mampam to the ever growing list

Den26 · 07/10/2009 20:56

Evening all!! Welcome to those who haev joined. I thought i would up date you on my scan today. I went along thinking i was 6 weeks and the scanned me and dated me as 7 weeks which is good!! I was also able to see a heart beat, i was soo glad because i was so nervous

Managed to beg for another scan in 2 weeks because all looked well on my last 7 week scan earlier this year but was later diagnosed with a MMC at my 12 week scan so i guess that will always be at the back of my mind until i get passed the 12 week mark - atleast i have 1 less week to wait than i thought!!

I still haven't managed to work out when i will be due - get confused because the calculator calculates from last period. So no idea if im May or June!

As for eating - i only managed 1/2 a cherry scone today at tea break which isn't like me and DP says i must feel ill cos wasn't able to eat all of my dinner! - how rude

MrsC09 · 07/10/2009 20:59

Welcome to all the newcomers!

I'm still waiting to hear from my MW. Does anyone know how it works? I went to see my GP over a week ago & he filled in all my details to send to the hospital & said they would be in touch to book an appointment but still haven't heard anything. Just want something to look forward to! (although never been to a MW so might not be much to look forward to after all

I feel huge as well! I really didn't think my belly would swell this much so early on, especially as its my 1st. I keep catching my boss glancing at my stomach so thin she suspects something, or maybe i'm just being paranoid! Really don't want to tell work until after my scan but not sure i'll get away with it!!

hmmm, time for a strawberry tart

Den26 · 07/10/2009 21:06

Hey MrsC09, i'm not sure where you live but i stay in Scotland and my GP told me to contact MW myself and arrange apointment, not sure if its the same everywhere.

At the MW appointment they usually just go through a load of health questions related to yours and your partners medical history and take blood to test for things like immunity to rubella etc - in my experience anyway.

I would contact the MW if you dont hear anything soon, it wouldn't do any harm

Enjoy your strawberry tart!

Rangemaster · 07/10/2009 21:07

Hey all,

Got a BFP yesterday. This will be my 3rd child, I have 2 girls already. Secretly hoping for a boy.

I am around 4.5 weeks preggers. I had a MC in July so am a little fearful of this one.

I have popped my name on the list. I hope all goes well for all and will look forward to hearing your symtoms etc.

Can I join please? Have been lurking for a week and have finally plucked up the courage to come out in the open - so to speak
This is mainly due to my very very advanced age (44 next month - gulp) and the fact that had a mc at 10 weeks in March.

Anyway my edd is 1 June and already have 1 DS who is 3 this month. Rang up the EPU this week and have got an early scan next wednesday.

MrsC09 - I went to my doctors last week (Tuesday)and got my midwife & nuchal scan appointments through this morning. So would expect that you would hear something soon.
