Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

Wow, can't believe you guys are already contacting Dr and MW's, I'd love to but they round here they don't even let you make your appointment until you're around 8 weeks gone - so I've got quite a long wait.
Mind you, having said that I ended up in the EPU last time so had scan before I even met my MW!

LittleRobbo · 08/10/2009 08:36

Welcome Rangemaster i am the opposite to you, have 2 boys so would be nice to have a girl, but have sneaking suspicion i am destined for brood of boys! Today is the first day i have woken up not tired, maybe because i was in bed at 8 last nite

mampam · 08/10/2009 09:31

Good morning.

LittleRobbo I'm sooo envious of you, I have woken up this morning feeling absolutely shattered. I went to bed at a decent hour last night but I just cannot seem to sleep! I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back no matter how hard I try!! Doesn't help that I'm continuously going to and fro to the loo .

This evening I'll be at work and won't get home til about midnight so I'll be shattered when I go to work tomorrow morning. I can't say I'll be sorry to get this tired, sicky stage of pregnancy out of the way!!

BarakObamasTransitVan · 08/10/2009 10:38

OK, so I've seen my GP who did another test - faint but not that faint BFP. Loon I've name changed - I was a water-loving mammal in a Czech car. Tis sinking in still. Told dp straight after my appt and you'd have thought I'd just told him his dog had died or something.
He'll get over it. My GP on the other hand was thrilled - you'd have thought they see this kind of thing every day, but there you go. Perhaps I'll marry him instead

Doc reckons the 16th (so very early days) however round here they rarerly if ever let you have a VBAC so chances are I'll have a cs two weeks earlier. My first MW appt will be in 4 weeks - I guess I'll find out more then.
Congratulations everyone, btw

Hello. I'd like to join you please. I just found out on Monday that I am pregnant, EDD 11 June. I'm still in shock as we had IVF to conceive our first DD, after two years of TTC with no success, and we were just gearing up for another round of IVF when my period just didn't come...

Still can't quite believe it and keep reminding myself it is very early days, but still, woopdedoop!

Look forward to getting to know you all in the months ahead.

Welcome beonit and Barack! And congrats to you both.

Well I have had no tiredness at all. I'm starting to think I'm not really pregnant at all. in which case how do I explain the half stone I've put on

nightmareonELMstreet · 08/10/2009 12:33

Congratulations everyone! Can't believe how many of us there are.
Just trying out my new Halloween name:sorry ladies!

I'm off out to dinner tonight with a group of friends who all have children about the same age as DS1. Do you think the fact that I am eating EVERYTHING in sight might be a giveaway? And not guzzling wine as I would normally?
Any creative suggestions I can give?

Has anyone any thoughts/experience on when to tell DS1? Do we do it after 12 weeks, or futher on?

Hope everyone is well and happy

greensnail · 08/10/2009 12:50

Hi all, was about to post that i'm feeling much better today, but have suddenly been overcome by a huge wave of tiredness and nausea. I slept loads better last night, so that's probably why i felt better this morning. Just waiting for DD to finish her lunch so we can both have a nap

Saucepanman · 08/10/2009 13:23

Can I join please? I am 5 weeks today, due 8th June. I have had 3 full previous pregnancies, my eldest ds was stillborn, and my other ds is 7 next week and dd is just 4. I am really happy, though v stressed about money as I am not working. Have only told my bf and her dh, and my dh of course, so would love to be able to "tell" you alland get some support! Am feeling a bit low today, don't know why. Feel sick first thing in the am, but not much in the way of other symptoms, telling myself this is because it is so early. Have dr appt booked for 2 weeks on mon but not sure if that is too late, have asked him to ring me but smug receptionist said she didn't think so! I seem to have forgotten everything about ante natal procedure. Oh, I am 31 btw.

Anyway, sorry for the essay! Looking forward to hopefully getting to know you all

sunshiney · 08/10/2009 14:10

hi Saucepanman - congrats and welcome!

nickytwotimes · 08/10/2009 15:23

Hi everyone.
What a lovely long list we have!
I am feeling really grim. Sick, sick, sick. Yuk!
So much for me hoping it wouldn't be so bad this time!
I am 6 wks so guess it's really kicking in now? Hopefully this is good though as it means high hcg levels, though I am very of the people I know who were not sick and got healthy babies!

Hope everyone is doing okay and the little lentils are growing.

charlottew · 08/10/2009 15:36

Hello all!
I'd love to join this group too! My due date is 10th June and it's my first (I'm 32) so I'm quite nervous and VERY EXCITED!!! Time seems to stand still at the moment... And most of the time I don't feel pregnant - only symptom is very sore boobs at the moment. Almost want to feel sick just to know I'm still pregnant..! (wink)

Icanneverthinkofagoodname · 08/10/2009 15:56

Hi charlottew, welcome. I am having my first as well and am just over 6 weeks, I am also waiting to feel sick so I can feel more pregnant. Apparently my mum went through all 5 of her pregnancys without every feeling sick so you never know. Actually feel great today and was so worried had to take another pregnancy test, seems a bit daft but there we go.
Mrs C09 I went to GPs last Thursday and he said the same thing, would refer me to hospital (Ninewells) and they would contact me. The post is slow just now so maybe its taking longer. Cant wait to get an appointment.
I am in Scotland by the way (Fife). Where is everyone else?

Woofie · 08/10/2009 16:35

Wow, the list is expanding by the hour! Welcome and congratulations barack, saucepan, charlotte and beonit (hope I haven't missed anyone)

Still very few symptoms at all here - no nausea or tiredness at all, just occasional headaches and a pulling sensation in my abdomen. Guess I should count myself lucky Have just booked in a nuchal scan for the beginning of December - I had one last time, but I'm still no clearer on what I'd do with the information if I was high risk for Downs.... Anyone else got any thoughts on screening tests?

LittleRobbo · 08/10/2009 16:41

congratulations beonit that is really lovely, and great timing welcome all newbies,i think there must be a baby boom happening icanneverthink i am in the Midlands,i think the GPs are the same mostly everywhere, leave you a little 'oh is that it' on your first PG visit.

ClaireDeLoon · 08/10/2009 17:48

Welcome Saucepan and Charlotte and congratulations to you both!

Hospital rang with my hcg levels from yesterday, 6000 apparently really high for just over 5 weeks so she thinks I have my dates wrong but I'm sure I haven't. Anyway they are high enough to scan me so the epu will call tomorrow.

MrsAlwaysRight · 08/10/2009 19:45

Can I join too? Not sure of exact due date as didn't have a proper period after coming off the pill before getting pregnant! Based on first day of withdrawal bleed I am guessing my due date is around 14th June. This will be my second, DD is 2. I'm 31.

greensnail · 08/10/2009 20:00

Hi all,

Woofie - my thoughts on screening tests. I would only ever be having tests for the information to give me time to prepare for what may be. If a test told me there was something wrong with the baby I would still definitely carry on with the pregnancy (although totally respect others who may make different decisions, and accept i may feel differently if i was actually in that situation). With this in mind I don't want any tests that could put the baby at a risk (e.g. an amniocentesis). I also don't want any tests that can't tell me conclusively whether there is a problem, as if they show up that I'm high risk, would then be advised to have more invasive tests that I don't want or would be left worrying, but without any real conclusive information.

This is just my opinion on what is the right thing for me and my family, though. I suppose you need to think about what you want the information for to help you decide which tests you should have.

LittleRobbo · 08/10/2009 20:02

clairedeloon keep us posted, how wrong do you/they think your dates are?

Washersaurus · 08/10/2009 20:07

Hi, can I sneak in here too? I tested positive weeks and weeks ago but am still partially in denial (apart from the constant nausea of course). I think I am due 1st June or thereabouts too.

I have DS1 (4yo) and DS2 (2yo) already and am anticipating this will be another boy ... although DH had a dream I was pregnant with twins before I had tested so it could be 2 boys!

I've been keeping an eye out for this thread, can't believe I missed it until now.
