Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

XX scared

Oooh scaredofeverything - that's brilliant - and it also means that if all is going well with mine, then it has a heartbeat too. I didn't think they could pick that up until about 7 weeks and I'm only 6 today.

ScaredOfEverything · 06/10/2009 12:21

Hmm yes Biscuit Stuffer, you make a very good point. I am 6.5 and have calculated my due date COMPLETELY wrong. Should be the 27th May! No wonder I was here on my own for so long...

I might just hang around here though, if that is ok!

nickytwotimes · 06/10/2009 13:18

A heartbeat - how lovely!

My mw isn't seeing me for another 2 weeks and I am not going to the GP at all this time. He does flip all anyway.

Starting to get waves of nausea and dizziness. And my boobs are big (for me).

When does everyone 'go public'? I am not keen to tell (other than one very close pal) until after the first sscan which is 12-14 weeks. How about everyone else?

dizzymac · 06/10/2009 13:31

OOO Scaredofeverything that's lovely.
Congratulations, we are getting to be a big group now.
I am soo light headed today. I'm eating nearly all the time to try to keep it at bay. That's all well and good today but I'm at work tomorrow ( primary teacher) and I'm going to struggle, I can't really snack in class..
I told the deputy at school last week as we have a reported case of swine flu which freaked me out a bit.
I've also told all parents and my brothers. My brother works across the road from me so I'm hoping for lifts when the nausea really kicks in.

scrappydappydoo · 06/10/2009 13:51

Hi everyone, just checking in..
Glad scan went well scary! It always makes it more real doesn't it?? Big jump from a blue line to an actual picture of a baby!
Made my 1st mw appointment yesterday for next week - funny thing was I'd booked a smear test for next week so I said to the receptionist 'I'd like to canx my smear test and book an appointment with the mw' her face when she'd worked it all out in head was quite funny.
Have been feeling a bit nauseous today which is interesting because i did not have it at all with dd1 and dd2 - so could I be having a boy? or twins???? we'll see

minimoonumbertwo · 06/10/2009 14:44

that's interesting scrappy - maybe it is a boy?! Is anyone going to find out what they're having?? I didn't with ds but am thinking i might do with this one as would love a little girlie!

BiscuitStuffer · 06/10/2009 14:52

I can't stop eating spicy stuff and smoked haddock!!!!!!!!!!!!

ClaireDeLoon · 06/10/2009 14:57

Biscuit I have developed a very sweet tooth - especially cake. Which is odd as I normally like baking but then don't eat the cakes. Now I keep thinking of cake all the time.

minimoonumbertwo · 06/10/2009 15:11

mmmmmmmmm smoked haddock, that's funny as i have quite a fish craving at the moment too.

oh & silly question - is it okay to sleep on your front at the moment?

RnB · 06/10/2009 15:42

Yes fine to sleep on your front mini..

Have had a pretty stressful few days - my brother is in intensive care they don't know why but he has liver and kidney failure.

On top of that my landlady is being reposessed - may need to be out in a few weeks

Am worried how the stress is affecting the baby. Am trying to stay as calm as possible but is obviously difficult.

Really exciting about seeing the heartbeat SoE!! That's so wonderful! Why did you have such an early scan?

ChairmumMiaow · 06/10/2009 15:44

RnB - sorry to hear that, it must make things hard.

I've just been eating constantly already, for the last 2 days. I hope it doesn't continue!

minimoonumbertwo · 06/10/2009 16:17

oh RNB poor you - try not to worry about the baby tho, just another thing to worry about! They are tough little creatures.

Den26 · 06/10/2009 16:24

Hi All, have been watching the thread as i think i am due in June but have been over on the May thread - it's all so confusing!!! I think i am around 6 weeks - have scan tomorrow (as i had a partial molar pregnancy in July)which will hopefully help make things alittle clearer.

SB so sorry to hear your news - take care of your self and i hope you have support around you.

Freckle - fingers crossed all goes well, take it easy, put your feet up if you can

Sounds like everyone's struggling a bit at work. I have had nausea for the last week (near to vomiting every morning when brushing my teeth!! sorry if TMI!!) Felt pretty bad at work today and had every one asking if i was ok and giving me hourly updates on my face colouring!! Apparently i turned from green to white to red!! Have been sent home early! I work in the NHS so i am finding it hard during patient appointments. Some warped part of me wants the MS though so i can be reassured all is going ok - is that weird?

Den26 · 06/10/2009 16:34

RnB - sorry to hear you are going through a stressful time. Try and look after yourself, and i hope your brother is OK.

ClaireDeLoon · 06/10/2009 16:52

Welcome Den26 and good luck with your scan tomorrow!

RnB sorry to hear about your brother and hope he will be OK.

RnB · 06/10/2009 16:55

Thanks everyone Just had an update on my brother and he's improving

Den26 - I totally understand what you mean by welcoming the MS! I too had a miscarriage (2.5yrs ago) and and anxious about another one. Every time I get a wave of nausea I'm pleased

Good luck with your scan tomorrow

ScaredOfEverything · 06/10/2009 18:48

RnB - very sorry to hear about your stress, but glad your brother is on the mend.

Had an early scan for no reason really other than the fact I really like to have full information. Also I find it very hard to trust that everything is ok. I have no reason for this, I guess I am just built that way...

for DD1 i must have had about 6 scans in total, then one a week at the end as well as I had diabetes....

Hence my MN name!

x

Woofie · 06/10/2009 20:09

scared that's great wow, a heartbeat so early on - pregnancy is just amazing.

RnB - really sorry to hear about yr brother. Hope he continues to improve.

Welcome den

Went to the GP today, just for a chat really as she's v friendly and easy to talk to, but there's obviously not much to do at this stage. HAve booked my 1st midwife appt for the start of November I am only 5 weeks, but I swear I'm already bursting out of my jeans - I feel about 3 months already! Could just be the biscuits I guess, but I'm sure expanding at a much quicker rate than last time

I've told a couple of friends and close family members, but am not going to go public til after the 12 week scan. Most of all I can't wait to tell my son (3 and a half) as he's old enough to get it and be really excited! Would be awful if I got his hopes up and something went wrong though, so will just have to bite my tongue for a few more weeks...

sunshiney · 06/10/2009 20:35

Evening all! RnB hope your brother gets well soon and the issues with landlady get sorted soon.

Erm well yes i cannot believe how blobby I'm getting round the tummy!!! I have given up on anything very fitted around the waist. Was looking at my stomach earlier and terrifying myself with the thought it might be twins.

Also had a look through my packed away maternity clothes from last time, summer of 2007. I remember packing it all away fondly thinking how it would be nice to wear those clothes again....No chance! Nothing appeals! I will have to force myself to like the basics and see if I can stretch to a few new tops.
Also, I was planning on getting a new coat for this winter, doesent seem worth it now as my belly looks set to explode!

ClaireDeLoon · 06/10/2009 20:48

Scared it's really good you got an early scan you must have a very kind GP/midwife team.

Doctors appointment in the morning for me, so many questions I bet poor doc will be glad when I leave him in peace

sobloodystupid · 06/10/2009 20:52

will you add me in please.
Like chairmumMiaow, due on June 13, I am 34 (waaay older than most of you ), this will be #3

Den26 · 06/10/2009 21:01

RnB, thanks for reply glad i'm not the only one!! and i'm glad your brother is on the road to recovery.

Sobloodystupid - congratulations and welcome
