Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

Hi everyone who is new, and so sad for everyone with bad news.

mampam I too am being uber-sick. It is really just exhausting, and there are definately moments when I lose sight of how lucky I am, and start wondering how I am going to get through the day - let alone the next few weeks.

On a positive note DH and I abandoned DS with Grandma for a night and went away for the night - just us. (Ironically the last time we did this I was pregnant with DS1 and having terrible morning sickness) We stayed in a wonderful hotel, with a lovely room, and lovely staff, and lovely food. And a lovely clean toilet - very important when you spend as much time curled over it as I am at the moment!

Had my first midwife appointment on Friday - I am going to be consultant led - have also asked to see consultant midwife to talk through somewhat traumatic last pregnancy.

nightmareonELMstreet · 26/10/2009 15:58

Meant to say if anyone is being ultra sick I checked with the chemist and you can take Dioralyte when you are pregnant.. it helps to rehydrate you.

mumandlovingit · 26/10/2009 16:01

sorry to hear the sad news. i hope you're both coping okay.

i'm 8 weeks tomorrow i think. scan wednesday to confirm dates. im still knicker checking every trip to the toilet. i dont think that will change anytime soon.

im feeling sick all day everyday and so tired all the time.i feel bad for my two ds's as they dont know yet, they just know im tired all the time and no fun at the moment. we will tell them after the scan as long as everythings ok. im hoping im a couple more weeks than i think.i can but hope.

congrats to everyone who's just got a BFP xx

ClaireDeLoon · 26/10/2009 16:06

Sorry you're both feeling so sick sounds rubbish, hope it passes soon.

HappyAccident · 26/10/2009 17:20

minimoo - the chance of twins is obv quite low, but possible. I don't know the statistics, but the chance does increase with age.

Sorry to hear that some of you are suffering from bad morning sickness. I haven't ever suffered from it, so am obv hoping that this pregnancy will be the same.

I have booked a GP appt for Wednesday, as my surgery still insist on you seeing one to register the birth and fill out the forms for the maternity exemption certificate.

Cadmum · 26/10/2009 17:30

mimimoo: So, how about you? What is your chance to deliver more than one baby at a time? Actually, it is about 3 percent, or, in other words 1 in 33.

This is from this site: joy of childcare

I can tell you from personal experience that I 'knew' when we conceived twins. I was very ill from early on and I could not stay awake and would even drift off through tea...

I was 1/2 hoping that this time round might be two so that I could be done but I don't think that I feel sick or tired enough really.

Cadmum · 26/10/2009 17:32

Hello happyaccident Xed posts.

HappyAccident · 26/10/2009 17:36

Hello CadMum - will be v impressed if you have guessed right btw!

LittleRobbo · 26/10/2009 17:46

good to see some 'old faces' checking in,and great to know you are all ok,apart from terrible symptoms! claire my scan is tomorrow lunchtime, havent had any more bleeding, cramps etc so am feeling as positive as i can. Is anybody else showing already? i mean i'm not skinny by any means, and have a bit of a belly from ds2 still, but good lord,i look about 5months already! i've been really snappy and knackered the past few days too,had to apologise to ds1,oh dear. Good luck for Friday Claire i'm sure everything will be just fine

Saucepanman · 26/10/2009 18:12

Clairedeloon I have a raging thirst that cannot be quenched! Feeling very pukey but so far only puked once. Have had booking in appointment, it was epic. First scan on 11/11- am finding it hard this time round not to tell people as I feel so crapola.

So sorry to hear sad news from Allgoingsouth and biscuitstuffer, am thinking of you xx

ArrghnBoooeee · 26/10/2009 18:58

Hi LittleRobbo I am absolutely huge too - I would say I was about the same size at 5 months with my other two

imkeepingmum · 26/10/2009 18:59

Hi all sorry to hear some have had bad news , but welcome to the new people!
Saw GP and have due date of 27 June from him so a bit later than the MN calculator. Booked appt with midwife but it's not for ages...GP said they see you at 12 weeks but mine's booked for during week 11 which feels ages away as that's end Nov/beginning Dec.
Feeling generally ok at the moment which is nice, have now told immediate family which has helped that I think.

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 26/10/2009 19:22

My friend was on at me to get to the dr so I can get my scan organised but it wouldn't be for weeks yet anyway so there is lttle point really I don't want my spirits dampened by being told I won't see anyone for 4/5 weeks so I an live in my own wee bubble just now.

Celery · 27/10/2009 08:28

I've never been a prolific poster on MN, and changed my name soon after the last antenatal thread, so I doubt anyone would remember me. No ulterior motive, I just like the anominity of MN.

Morning sickness hasn't kicked in fully yet, but feeling a little nauseous a lot of the time. I'm fine as long as I eat regularly. If this pregnancy is anything like the other three, I will feel as sick as a dog from weeks 6-11 if it's a boy, and 6-24 weeks if it's a girl! I knew my last pg was a boy because the symptoms were identical to the the first boy, and the girl symptoms were so different. I know often every pg is different, but it seems to have a pattern for me.

Anyone else had SPD in previous pregnancies? This is a concern for me, but I am 4 stone lighter this time round, so I'm hoping that will make a big difference.

ClaireDeLoon · 27/10/2009 09:38

Good luck for your scan today LittleRobbo, I'm thinking of you.

Congratulations to all the newbies!
Umm, I'm bowing out though. Went to the EPAU yesterday after a slight bleed and discomfort. HCG levels are as they should be, according to dates but a transvaginal scan showed no fetal pole and no yolk sac. If I'd got my dates wrong, my hcg levels would probably have been lower. I seem to have lost all my pg symptoms as well, so even though they want me back in next week for another scan I've pretty much resigned myself to this pg not being a goer.
This wasn't a planned pg so I doubt I'll be back on the ante natal threads any time soon.
Hope everyone else is fine. I'm OK, just a bit sad really. These things happen though - I'm fairly philosophical about it all.

BarakObamasTransitVan · 27/10/2009 09:46

Oh - the scan did show an area that looked like a gestation - so it wasn't all in my mind!

sobloodystupid · 27/10/2009 09:49

so sorry to hear the sad news BOTV . cadmum I feel that I know I am having twins, I feel so tired even after nine hours sleep, am showing already at 7 + 2. Have to wait until Dec for my scan to know for sure...

ClaireDeLoon · 27/10/2009 10:05

Barak I'm so sorry take care of yourself

NewhereHelp · 27/10/2009 11:04

barak Wasn't going to post for a bit, just been watching was on the due in Nov 09 thread but had an ectopic so v cautious.

Had some pain last thursday, they took my hcg level (4754) - I thought I was about 6 and a half weeks.

They scanned me and saw what they thought was about 3-4 week preg, told me that my blood level was too high for that gestation. They thought another ectopic and wanted to operate and do a D & C. Not happy as it didn't seem to make sense I discharged myself to return for bloods on Sat and another scan yesterday. (not recommended but have has 2 ectopics in a row now so know what I'm looking for!)

Checked HCG levels on the net and they are normal for 5 weeks, add to that the fact that I'm overweight and my bladder wasn't full I kept everything crossed!

Went for scan yesterday, 'sac' had grown and hcg level are 'progressing nicely'

So don't give up, stay strong and ask LOTS of specific questions.

Laptop is broken at the mo so am just nipping on sons computer.

Will be happier joining in at 12 weeks.

Conceived naturatally with only one tube which was repaired after ectopic in April - some part of that must mean that this bubble is here to stay xx

NewhereHelp · 27/10/2009 11:15

But can't spell clearly

herewegrow · 27/10/2009 11:48

Hi All,

Can I join too please?

I'm due around 26th. This will be my second. I have a DD who is almost 10 months.

BEANS, I was on the Dec 08 thread with you, although under a diff name. I'm having to be a bit sneaky as I haven't told close fam / friends yet and there are a few on MN.

Congrulations all the other Mum's to be

BarakObamasTransitVan · 27/10/2009 12:06

Thanks for the advice, NewhereHelp and fingers crossed
We'll see I guess. I'll stop by after my next scan. It's all a bit weird tbh and never felt "real". Dp was very down on the whole thing (he was devasted - and I use that word advisedly - when I told him about my BFP) but I'd just started to really get my head around the idea that we might be having another dc. God the next week's going to go slowly!

So far we have all the classic symptoms
Nausea [x]
Falling asleep [x]
Constant paranoia about progression of pregnancy [x]
Constant paranoia about being spotted by hawk eyed friends and colleagues [x]
Much improved rack [x]
Sense of faint disappointment that midwife is not as excited about the pregnancy as you are [x]

This is 5th pregnancy (after 2 boys and 2 miscarriages) and its a bit of an enigma as it's happened immediately after my last miscarriage, so my dates are slightly wobbly.

I really feel for all of you who have joined this thread and had to jump off again - wishing you much much better luck next time.

aliwally · 27/10/2009 12:39

Hello everyone - I'm due 18th June and I'm 40! 7th pregnancy but no babies yet, so I'm very nervous. Have a scan tomorrow but I feel hopeful. I'm injecting heparin daily and taking aspirin, so hope this is the one. Anyway, apart from that and having a stinking cold, I'm tired and peeing like nothing on earth! All good stuff I reckon. Good luck to you all and I hope to share this journey with you.
