Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

Hi all, I'd like to join in too. I'm due on 18th June and am 40 with a DD of 3 years old, so this is baby number two for me.

Icanneverthinkofagoodname · 15/10/2009 16:40

Just wondering how everyone else is feeling. I seem to be miserable and really fed up with everything right now for no reason at all. Nothing seems to cheer me up just now. Feels like I always get just before my period. Is it just hormones and will it go away?

UnrequitedSkink · 15/10/2009 16:55

Can you add me to the list please? I did add myself before (prev page) but now I have disappeared.

Icanneverthinkofagoodname - sorry you're feeling miserable, it's probably just hormonal and it will pass - fwiw, I'm a scary raging monster if anything annoys me at the moment. Last time I was pg I felt horribly sad for about 2 weeks, and then it went and I just felt sick

ClaireDeLoon · 15/10/2009 16:58

you sound really down it is probably just the hormones making you weepyish. Do something nice this evening to cheer yourself up, even if it's just getting a DVD and watching it with your feet up and some popcorn. Don't choose a sad film though. Or how about a manicure etc?

dontdare · 15/10/2009 17:09

allgoingsouth can i quiz you on your scan?

did they say how big the sac was ( diameter?)

I am very nervous following clearblue tests akimbo and not many symptoms...

I too have had an early scan and although i did not think seven - more like 6 + 1 or 2 days - i have come a way feeling bleak...

the sonographer said looked early 5's and the one sac dimension i can remember was 6.8 although i think the others were smaller

we also saw a very small fetal pole and heartbeat but feeling blue

thanks

ClaireDeLoon · 15/10/2009 17:19

dontdare they told me it is really hard to accurately date a pregnancy until you are over 8 weeks along so don't get worried. A heartbeat and a fetal pole is excellent news, congratulations.

Horton · 15/10/2009 17:50

A heartbeat is great news! Don't the chances of miscarriage drop dramatically once you've seen this?

I am feeling pretty much fine but then I had the world's most symptom-free pregnancy last time and am hoping for another like that!

dontdare · 15/10/2009 18:32

hmmm thanks but not feeling fab..

cramping and light spotting

just have a bad feeling

ClaireDeLoon · 15/10/2009 18:37

Am keeping everything crossed for you dontdare. I have similar - brown spotting and very very mild cramping but no heartbeat or fetal pole on scan. It's awful when all you can do is wait and see.

dontdare · 15/10/2009 18:44

thanks Clairedeloon and i will keep everything crossed for you...

trying desperately to re assess ovulation date etc....

not wanting to be dreadfully pessimistic but clearblue digital test only just clicked onto 5 weeks.... baby looks 10 days behind.... and spotting...

dontdare pulls on every ounce of pragmatism !!! you are right claire all we can do is sit tight.

I was told to go back in 2 weeks if not m/c!

Horton · 15/10/2009 19:02

Good luck, both of you. Hope everything is all right.

AllGoingSouth · 15/10/2009 21:25

Dontdare - sorry to hear that you are having spotting.
They did measure the sac but can't remember what it was. To be honest I was just releived to be able to see a heartbeat. They said that can't be accurate on dates until fetus (spelling?) measures at least 5mm.
I hope it all works out ok for you..

Love2dance · 15/10/2009 22:59

Evenin' All. Welcome to the thread recent arrivals. I am keeping a low profile at the mo. 3rd day of light brownish bleeding. I called GP surgery to explain this and to say I still had no MW or antenatal appointment at the hospital and was told to try ringing the hospital myself (even though I have no confirmation they will take me!) I am trying to take a "what will be will be" attitude and for now I am going to wait and see (nothing I can do anyway). Interestingly just before spotting started I noticed my skin (usually dry/comination) was a bit oily on the chin and had a couple of spots. So, could be hormonal changes.
Will have a look in and will be rooting for all of you but may go quiet for a while...(apart from constant sounds of munching toast )

Cadmum · 16/10/2009 09:26

May I join you?

BFP this morning with my first ever Clear Blue Digital displaying a 3+. I was surprised and pleased but I am not spotting so not feeling overly optimistic.

I wasn't going to post at all until I noticed just how many others are in the same boat.

I will stand by and hope to hear some positive stories.

(This would be dc #5 for us but I have a rather sketchy Ob history with more miscarriages than successes. I did spot at this stage with Ds2 so all might turn our well.)

Horton · 16/10/2009 10:49

I am burping like an old man today. Horrible. I'd forgotten about that bit. And my breasts hurt. I am going to M&S to buy something stretchy and supportive to wear in bed at the earliest opportunity.

ClaireDeLoon · 16/10/2009 11:57

I'm glad you said that about burping Horton as I have been burping like you wouldn't believe and I asked my mum and it seems she can't remember much about being pregnant except going off coffee and liking tomatoes so isn't a great deal of help.

orchidgirl · 16/10/2009 12:16

Horton - I am exactly the same. As soon as I eat or drink anything I belch. Not exactly ladylike. I am also suffering terrible wind, much to my DH's amusement (not a very mature sense of humour). This seems to get worse as the day progresses. Anyone else suffering?

Horton · 16/10/2009 12:27

I am having, erm, disturbances in the bottom area, too. I don't remember it being quite like this last time. Last time I was just constipated like you wouldn't believe. This time I have all kinds of rumblings going on down there. Not nice. And smelly. Sorry if TMI.

I have been browsing online and M&S appear to have discontinued the lovely soft seamless comfy crop tops that I wore in bed last time round. Woe is me. Anyone know of anywhere that does cotton/lycra crop tops with plenty of lycra? Secret support vests are no good for me as my breasts are in the wrong place due to having a very short torso.

orchidgirl · 16/10/2009 12:39

Try Sloggi Comfort tops (£15 for 2 at simplybe, other retailers available). I always bought the M+S crop tops for wearing under deep v-neck tops but M+S stopped doing them some time ago. Bought the Sloggi ones recently for a holiday and they are very comfortable although they do have a seam across the breast. The material is much thicker than the M+S ones, more of a thick jersey, so are very supportive.

Horton · 16/10/2009 12:50

Thank you, those look the kind of thing I want. Great!

minimoonumbertwo · 16/10/2009 13:17

Hi All, just checking in as is ages since i've been on here - sorry to see the spotting/crampy issues, is such a horrid uncertain time when you just want to be squealy and excited! Am still feeling utterly terrible in the days - so sick & headachy & cross! Also not sleeping that well, keep waking up at 4am with backache, too annoying.

Lovely to see so many new lovely (nearly) bumps!!

MrsAlwaysRight · 16/10/2009 13:43

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick message to those who are experiencing spotting. I had this at around 6 and 7 weeks with my first pregnancy but everything was fine and DD is now 2, so it doesn't always have an unhappy ending.

Also as I understand it (researched extensively during spotting 1st time round) that once a heart beat is seen during an early scan the risk of a miscarriage is lower. Hope this might provide some reasurrance.
