Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

Hey Ladies.

ClaireDeLoon: I really hope things continue to improve for your brother. Positive outcomes do happen in this situation especially with possibilities such as dialysis, even if it takes some time.

LittleRobbo sorry to hear about spotting. I've been getting a bit too. I can say this here but I notice it more after bowel movements . Brown but in last few days a bit pink too. Fingers crossed...I think I will wait and see for a bit.

Even though I'm still the most elderly on here (!) glad to see ya Orchidgirl & Ponymum.

I am getting a bit impatient that I still have no appointment letter for hospital (especially with spotting worries). Guess I'll just have to wait.

beonit · 11/10/2009 19:34

Hi there. Sorry to hear that some of you are also feeling worried about spotting, aching etc. This is such an anxious time isn't it?

I had stomach pains and felt quite unwell all day yesterday and ended up ringing NHS Direct because I just felt something must be wrong. Basically they said there's nothing they can do at this stage but wait and see. I feel fine today and don't know whether to be relieved or even more worried... I wish it was possible to get an early scan, but I guess I'll just have to sit tight until 12 weeks arrives.

Sorry, just offloading really... Anyway, I hope you're all looking forward to going back to work tomorrow more than I am!

Happy Sunday night.

madamefreckle · 11/10/2009 23:42

nightmareonELMstreet, I'm feeling much better - thank you. So much so in fact that i'm beginning to sorely doubt that i'm at all pregnant. Sorry to hear you're having a bit of a nightmare at the mo. No need to feel guilty- you need the rest and it's only temporary.

Clairedeloon and littlerobbo - i'm thinking positive thoughts for you. In my first pregnancy i had spotting on and off for a week or more ( all colours from brown to light pink to gloopy bright red - in small quantities - TMI perhaps - sorry!) and exactly the same thing happened a week ago (at 5 weeks pregnant both times). First time round, no cause was found but i did have an early scan. Doc said this time just to wait and see. I've had nothing for a week now...but am i actually still pregnant? Think i'm going to have to stock up on pregnancy tests to keep me going til wk 12!

I feel more uncomfortable for the fact that i've had a spate of telling family the big news this weekend - couldn't hold it back - and i now feel like i've just made the whole thing up!!

BiscuitStuffer · 12/10/2009 08:14

oh it is all so worrying isn't it. I am so sorry for those of you who are feeling awful and I have all my fingers crossed for those having spotting and pain and good luck for the scans coming up.

I am in a panic because I was starving and bloated long before now with my other 2 pregnancies. I have convinced myself that it will be a missed miscarriage

Love2dance · 12/10/2009 08:42

BiscuitStuffer you are not alone. I have all but convinced myself that at the 1st scan we'll be told: sorry there's no heartbeat. Must think positive!
Madamefreckle it is reassuring to know you've been through the same thing and all was well.

I'm getting a bit impatient waiting for 1st scan appointment letter (especially as my GP said "Oh you probably won't get in there" when I told her my preferred hospital).

On a more positive note. I am in the South East so hope it's the same for all of you, but isn't it a beautiful morning?

dizzymac · 12/10/2009 09:55

Morning.
It's a lovely day up here in Manchester too. It does make you feel better doesn't it.
I'm stuck in today with DD2 who's got a lovely virus and sore ears. It does mean I can get all my marking and planning done today ready for the rest of the week.
I'm feeling more positive today, partly because I feel a bit queasy!!!

I hope everyone else is feeling a bit better with the nice weather. It won't be too long before we're looking back at these few weeks and laughing. ( I hope )

ClaireDeLoon · 12/10/2009 10:32

Hello all I'm back from my scan, they said I look to be 5 weeks they can see the yolk sac but no fetal pole but then so early on they say they wouldn't expect to see much anyway. I think I'm just under 6 weeks. They have booked me to go back in 3 weeks.

It's implanted in the right horn of my uterus which they say is fine.

LittleRobbo I hope you are getting scanned and get good news, thinking of you.

beonit I hope you're feeling better today - maybe if you are still getting pains your doctor could refer you for an early scan?

Love2Dance how come you can't get into the hospital you want? Fingers crossed you do anyway.

dizzymac your poor DD I hope she's feeling better soon.

wave to everyone else

greensnail · 12/10/2009 10:35

Morning everyone, beautiful day here too - hope it lasts as i have 3 loads of washing out!

Hope everyone's little beans are hanging in there - hoping that clairedeloon gets good news at her scan today.

I'm still feeling exhuasted but have some crampy pain this morning so am trying to take it easy. House is a complete tip so I may feel the urge to get off my bum and tidy up soon though. DH and DD have hand, foot and mouth disease so are feeling sorry for themselves - luckily I haven't come down with it yet, so hoping i'm immune from it and won't be getting it too.

greensnail · 12/10/2009 10:38

xpost clairedeloon - so pleased your scan was ok, keeping fingers crossed that baby hangs on in there - roll on 3 weeks so you can have another look!

ClaireDeLoon · 12/10/2009 10:45

Thanks greensnail - and fingers crossed you don't catch hand foot and mouth disease (although have to admit have no idea what that is, sorry!).

fillybuster · 12/10/2009 11:55

Hi everyone, can I please join you? I had a positive test about a week ago and dh has worked out that we've got an EDD of 10th June. He's not entirely pleased with me, since that's his birthday, but I've reassured him that I haven't yet had a baby on time so it should be fine! Ds (4) was due on our wedding anniversary but didn't turn up until 12 days later (phew!), dd (20 months) was only 5 days late but I put that down to the castor oil

Number 3...eek ...not sure how this is going to work!!

Anyway, nice to meet you all

Filly xx

fillybuster · 12/10/2009 11:59

Have updated the list to include my dates...actually a bit nervous of putting it in writing so early on as with my other 2 I waited until the 12 week scan before I joined the ante-natal threads! I know I'm being silly, but 5 weeks feels a bit scarily early

Hi, hope you're all ok? I've just realised that I seem to have been left off recent lists! Here are my stats for next time they are updated ( cos I'm too thick to know how to do it myself!): I'm due on 1st June, I'm 29 and this will be #03!

Haven't been on here for a little while as I'm really feeling rough. I feel sick every waking minute, I'm absolutely knackered (I've been laying on the sofa for the last 3 days running) and my sense of smell has gone beserk. I can't stand the smell of anything, not even our washing powder! I started being sick this morning and it came totally out of the blue. I walked into the front room smelt something I didn't like and I was sick in my hand !!!

I feel like shit to be truthful and I really don't know how I'm going to cope at work now that I've started being physically sick!
Has anyone else had this problem? How have you coped at work?

minimoonumbertwo · 12/10/2009 14:03

i feeeeeeeeeeeelllllll siiiiiiiicccccckkkkk

mampam · 12/10/2009 14:08

minimoon - I'm not the only one then!!? How are you coping with it in your day to day life/work???

minimoonumbertwo · 12/10/2009 14:26

not well mampam, work is actually marginally better as my job is v easy & i can sit here eating! home is difficult as i am just knackered & cross by the time i get home & not much fun to be around. tbh am just trying to get through each day as i know it will get better in a few weeks (hopefully!). do you work full time? can you take a bit of time off/work shorter hours for the next few weeks??

Ponymum · 12/10/2009 14:26

Well I am beginning to wonder whether I actually am pregnant at all, as I seem to have no symptoms. I know I should be grateful while it lasts as last time was hellish, but I feel like a phoney.

I had a call from the obstetric physio this morning, and she has made me an appointment for tomorrow! I had such bad SPD last time she wants to assess me straight away and give me some exercises to do.

Welcome filly

mampam I had horrible sickness last time. I would keep a stack of Special K bars in my desk drawer / briefcase and nibble one just before goinng into meetings. Helped a little but I ended up having to take several weeks off and then work from home. GP put 'vomitting' on my sickness certificate so everyone just thought I had a tummy bug virus thing.
To update the list, cut and paste the most recent list and insert your details. I'll give it a go and will insert yours.

Ponymum · 12/10/2009 14:28

BOTV beat me to it.

dizzymac · 12/10/2009 14:47

It's kicked in for me today. I'd forgotten how awful it is to feel sick all the time. I've had some lemon and ginger tea which has helped and a twix and a toffee muffin!!! I'll look about 7mths in about a week at this rate.

I'm a part time year 5 teacher and really don't know how I'm going to manage working and feeling so sick. Its nearly impossible to even nip to the loo mid lesson, let alone stop for a snack and drink of ginger!!. I think I'm going to have to tell my TA or she'll freak out/guess.

madamefreckle · 12/10/2009 15:16

I'm a part-time teacher too... love the covert mid-lesson snacking... feel like one of the kids! Relieved i don't feel too naff at the moment but feel for you dizzymac.

fillybuster · 12/10/2009 15:27

Feeling totally fine this time...waiting for the nausea to kick in. Felt great with dc1 then spent the first 3 months chucking up with #2. And had awful sciatica all the way through as well. Fingers crossed this is a repeat of the first time around but I don't quite believe it yet....

Barack - no, you can't be....I was testing from 2.5 weeks ago (and I'm only on week 5 today!), but they kept on coming up negative...went through 5 tests before I got a positive result . Odd, cos with dc2 I tested at 20 days (yes, I know, far too early, but I got a spot which was a heck of a giveaway!) and so I knew from stupidly early

BarakObamasTransitVan · 12/10/2009 15:58

I started testing because I was utterly confused by a very early "period" and was advised on MN and by a friend that this might be an implantation bleed (which I'd never heard of before ). Would have been cd 19. Tested on cd 22 (pm though) and a bfn. Again on cd 27 a bfp
I'm guessing btw that cd stands for cycle day or something and means days after first day of period. Again, utterly ignorant about these things
I don't feel too nauseous but my bosoomers are huge and hurt

LittleRobbo · 12/10/2009 16:24

afternoon ladies clairedeloonabsolutely top news for you so so pleased kinda good news for me too as i have had no more spotting since yesterday morning and backache has eased off. Just got back from GP who was really lovely,he's got me a scan for tomorrow afternoon,so,we will see.fingers are well and truly crossed. tonight i will do my best to relax by immersing myself in chocs DH bought me yday and coronation st
