Here we go -

Hpoefully in this one we'll all get to feel those kicks and turns if we haven't already, some of us will go for our 20 week scans, and we might get to look preg instead of looking like we've eaten too many cream cakes!

No more scares in this one though please!

Been ages since I've posted anything. Been having a very easy time of it so far so felt a bit guilty when everyone else seemed to be suffering from terrible m/s ...

I don't know about kids and your self esteem - this being my first and all - but my DH has taken to caling me Jabba (after Jabba the Hut) and thinks it's hilarious.

I'm also in the if food is in sight it must be eaten mode. Trying to eat healthily, but when we went to look at the (shocking) prices of things like changing tables, cots, etc at John Lewis in Brent Cross I was so hungry that I had Burger King food for the first time since I was a teenager (which was a long long time ago).

Had my first meeting with midwife team where they took what seemed like five gallons of blood - good thing I'm not too squeemish about it. Have slightly high blood pressure so seeing the consultant in a couple of weeks to discuss. Have 20 week scan on 5 July - can't wait to see him/her again! Beginning to feel some movement which is slightly weird, but very cool.

Hiya

Started back to school on Monday so have been absolutely knackered!!!!

Work is ok, not as bad as I thought which is always a bonus. Worried I might be doing too much again though, as during the day I am fine but in the evening I am horrible - hormonal, sleepy, irritable and generally not a nice person to know.

Know what you all mean about the eating. I am trying to stop myself from eating all the time. I seem to be constantly hungry.

Speak later

Hi all have had sacn , all is really good, measurements are normal and babby was moving around loads! Didn't find out the sex in the end and am not disappointed it will be something extra to look forward to!
Rodeo - it opens your eyes going for your scan doesn't it? Didn't have DD at DCGH so didn't know what it was like , staff etc were all lovely no concerns there but the other expectant parents?! Some left a lot to be desired!! It's even made DH consider a home birth or going to the Whitworth at darley dale but tbh think i will still end up at city!!! I know you won't have been one of the mums there today so can be truthful!!!xx

busyalexsmummy · 14/06/2005 18:53

laylasmum-glad the scan went well

tessasmum-pmsl at "wobbly"-kids dont you just luv em

Hamster-ouch, how'd you manage to burn your hand? whilst cooking?

Physio went well, going back to see a spd specialist on 6th july, who is(depending on how gd/bad the pain is by then)going to fit me with crutches-ffs, how the hell is that going to work with a 16 month old to look after whilst dp is at work???

eating is still pretty limited here, some things are making me sick still and other stuff im alright, also some days are better than others, of you lot stuffing your faces with whatever you like!!! although today have not done too badly and am tucking into a prawn coctail(a craving which was driving me nuts late last night!)

Evening all,
Hiya Rodeo
Busy - firstly congrats on the lovely b'day present, comes at a good time eh? You better not forget his b'day then!! (((CYBER REMINDER))) If you have to get crutches don't worry, i caught the tail end of a programme last night about a woman bringing up her son with no arms or legs (i'm not sure of her disability exactly but she was able to tie her son's shoelaces with her toes) - I felt totally ungrateful for even complaining of m/s! What a lady! Have so much respect for her
Like yourself - some days are better than others - I had been thinking of a cheeseburger for ages and once eaten back up it came (sorry for TMI) So there you go!!! I'm still big on grapefruits!

Layla's mum - glad all went well at the scan

Hamster - been wondering where you are..is your hand better now?

LilJ - nice to see you again!

Think we need a few name changes here aka 'Jabba' and 'Wobbly' he heee!

Still no news from SharonTW1?

Hope i've not missed anyone. Will go now and leave some webspace for others.
Asta La Vista...but I'll be BaCk....

ChaCha · 14/06/2005 19:18

Crikey!!!
Busy, i think between the two of us we can start some kind of competition...
..perhaps 'how many smiley faces have i posted in this message'....

rodeo1 · 14/06/2005 22:48

Evening all!

Dp is at the cinema watching Star Wars (not my cup of tea!) so I'm having a sneaky late one! There's nothing on the telly, have just turned BB off, they're all so loud and annoying! Am now half watching Most Haunted......

chacha - hello to you to lovey

Laylasmum - Brill news on your scan! IKWYM about the other expectant parents!! When I had ds there was a mum in the bed next to me who was just like 'yeah but no but' girl on Little Britain and all she was going on about was how she 'needed a fag'. Her baby was about 5 pounds full term (hmmm...I wonder why? The chainsmoking perhaps...)and the midwives were trying to get her to have skin to skin contact (never mind breastfeeding!)as the baby was cold being so small but she didn't care!
Her family were just awful too, just like something off Neighbours from Hell! Needless to say I had to move beds! The midwives were really good and moved me straight away - along with a couple of other mums, thank god, something you don't need when you've just given birth. How stressful! (sorry to sound like a snob )

LilJ - Great to hear from you, love! Glad you're keeping well - I know what you mean about prices! I'm a right penny-pincer! Am only geting major essentials this time round!

Busy - What a pain! But hope the crutches help. I snapped my shinbone last year (with the kind help of a horse) and had to have a rod hammered down the inside of it, and was on crutches for what seemed like ages! Soon got used to them though

Enthusia, not long til the summer hols - just keep focusing on that!! I was at work last night and felt wiped out today, a real can't be bothered-ness!

Hamster - got my scan on the 21st June (next Tues), can't wait! This time next week I may know what flavour bump I have!! When is yours??

Twinkle, I missed you this morning! so - Hello! Hope you are blooming! You'll have to give us a long post next time your on!

Tessasmum - children, eh? When we were in Asda the other day my ds, who was in the trolley, pointed his finger into a gun and started to 'fire' at this asian guy (in a turban) who was passing. I could have died on the spot. I just pray no-one thought we were from some kind of fascist BNP-style white supremacist group who like to teach their children early!

Well, baby is kicking my full bladder now so I'll be off,

Sorry to bore you to tears yet again!

I'm 20 weeks in an hour and 15 mins!! I'll be half way!

P.S. What are everyones 20 week scan dates. I'll add them to the stats list

P.P.S. Has anyone seen the 'celebrity lock in' on the Johnny Vegas show, it's hilarious!

hope you are all well.I am so knackered at the min, is anyone else feeling this tired??????
I have my 20 week scan on 4th july!! I can't wait to see the sprout again. The kids named the baby sprout till we know what sex it is!!!.
I have to tell u about my six year old, we were in the car listening to a beetles cd yesterday then when we got home he was sat singing We've got a chicken to ride...... i could not convince him it was we have a TICKET to ride!!! it was just too funny

Bains · 15/06/2005 11:46

20th scan on 28th june....dying to find out that everythings ok...

Btw, "they" (dont ask me who exactly) say that if your sickness goes on for sometime into the pregnancy then its more likely its a girl. This definately worked on my sis-in-law who was sick until week 20 and she had a little girl although she was convinced it was going to be a boy....

hamster · 15/06/2005 12:41

Afternoon,

I am sooooooooo tired today. Didn't go to work this morning(tut tut), I was having one of those mornings-woke up late, no work uniform ready etc etc...all my own fault really! Dp is being really good though, really sympathetic to my 'tired needs'.........hmm what is he after, I ask myself...

Hey Rodeo, got my scan tomorrow. Must admit I'm like a child who knows it's x-mas in the morning-can't stop thinking about it, and just know I won't be able to get to sleep tonight! Sad-eh?!
I too want to find out what flavour bump mine is!

Well, hand is on the mend, thanks to those who mentioned! I did it on one of our saucepans, bloody metal handles! Still all on the mend

xx

busyalexsmummy · 15/06/2005 13:24

hmmm, not sure about that theory, i had sickness till 28weeks and IT turned out to be HE

ChaCha · 15/06/2005 13:55

Hello everyone,
Also haven't seen CADS post for a while. I must check the stats list.
My 20 week scan (think will be 21wks) is 14th July - seems forever away!
You can all send me cyber hugs as i've been in bed all day, poor old me My asthma is so bad with added hayfever feel like i've had all my energy drained from me, and is definitely rag doll day.
Off to make a drink...the effort of it all..sigh!

Diddle · 15/06/2005 14:32

rodeo - very ncie to see you on the ttc after mc thread, hope all is well with you and you're enjoying you're pg.

ChaCha · 15/06/2005 16:29

Okay, fair enough...forget the cyber hugs...some presence will do

Enthusia · 15/06/2005 16:53

Sorry you are feeling crappy ChaCha! Just think in the winter you will be wishing for lovely hot weather again!!!!

Hamster - those saucepans sound dangeruous, did you burn the palm of your hand then? Ouch!

I am also qyite tired, but only first thing in the morning and then the evening. During the day I seem to be bouncing around. Girls at work kept reminding me to sit down!

I can't wait for my next scan. I know it's not that long but it feels ages away. Does not help that between then and now, I have 2 sports days, a visit from an MP, 2 road safety talks, one mufti day, one 'Wear The Wrong Trousers Day'and all my reports to be finished. Feels like a mountain to climb agggghhhhhh!

bamik · 15/06/2005 16:57

Hope you're all well. Haven't posted here for a while (to be honest I couldn't find it ).

I'm 17 + 4 (going really quick I think).

Having scan next Weds and I'm really looking forward to it!! I think that I can feel baba movng but I'm really not sure. It's like a bubbling thing!

ChaCha · 15/06/2005 17:00

Hi Enthusia
Is nice to see you here. Glad you are doing well at work and that everything is okay.

tessasmum · 15/06/2005 17:05

Not sure about sickness thing either. I wasn't sick at all the first time round and she is definately a girl! This time haven't been sick either (and feel slightly guilty as loads of people on here seem to have been really bad!) but will have to wait till Nov to find out sex as I like surprises and, as my mum said years ago, it's the only thing that keeps you going once the baby's head has crowned!!

busyalexsmummy · 15/06/2005 17:09

bamik-were due same day? 19th?

tessasmum · 15/06/2005 17:11

Bamik - my scan is next Weds too, exactly on 20 weeks if the the 2nd set of figures are to be believed!!

ChaCha · 15/06/2005 17:16

One of my fancy fish has just died
I think it was murdered! I am sooooo upset. DH is coming home to arrange the funeral. I am too hormonal.

ChaCha · 15/06/2005 17:16

Oh and three guesses what i'd put in the oven for DH's tea? ... am totally sick.

bamik · 15/06/2005 17:31

Yep Busyalexmummy - we are due on the same date!! Lets see who's gonna get baba out first!!

Chacha - Sweet, sorry to hear about your fish . Maybe you should cook something else for DH, I'm sure he'll understand ??
