ses- hope app goes well.

Have uploaded a couple of pics of buster!! He's currently asleep on the sofa with DS.

Its our 4th wedding anniversary today so Dh is off, was just checking in while wishing my sis a happy bday... busy one today- its my grandma's bday too!! Lots of visiting to do.

NatalieJane · 21/07/2009 11:28

Morning

Sorry for all the bad nights As LB says though, it won't last for long, well DS1 was 5 when he finally slept through the night, but it ususally doesn't last for long! Bet you're all feeling better now eh?!

Ses, good luck with appointment, can't really advise any further than everyone else has, key things to remember, you know O better than anyone else, you are his mother and so have the ultimate choice over everything, also just remember that the doctors are there to help, often misguided help, but all you can do is listen to what they say and make the decisions from there. FWIW I agree with everyone else, it certainly sound's as though his tongue tie was holding him back a bit, but an oz a fortnight gain since that was sorted sound's good to me.

Glask, you are a very brave woman! Though from what you say it sound's as though Buster is fitting in nicely And yes, we need pics

We ended up at the Trafford Centre yesterday, DH stayed in the car with DS2 and 3, DS1 and I hit the shops Needed clothes for Mikey, got a lot in Boots suprisingly (sorry Ses, just never even really looked at their clothes!) but they are really nice, bright colours, a lot of the trousers have adjustable waists which is always on the top of my list! Am hoping they wash well because I am really running short on the shops for Mikey, DS1 and 2 are sorted half between FatFace and Debenhams, but DS3 has survived in Debenhams and bloody Next for too long. Am I the only one with an aversion to Next? Maybe it's because they are boys?

Also next door but one had their baby girl on Friday so I had fun looking for pink things for a change! Not been able to see her yet with having this bloody cold thingymebob, can't wait though, she was the same weight as Mikey, I want to put them together to see the size difference!

Also am driving tonight, I am really looking forward to it, am really chomping at the bit to get going I think it's because once I know I've passed, the whole house/school thing is going to be so much easier! It's one of the biggies off the list IYKWIM? Which reminds me, I need to make a post about the changing school thing, had better get it done before one of them starts!

See you all later xxx

Kayzr · 21/07/2009 12:23

Nat hope the driving goes well. I went out last night with Mum. She got me reversing which I have never done before. Going out tomorrow and Friday too. Got to book lessons with an instructor too. Going to have about 3 hours a week. So should definatly should be passed by July next year.

Diege · 21/07/2009 12:45

Aww GLASK what a cutie Buster looks
Driving lesson sounds good KAYZ. If you've mastered reversing (something I never did - could never work out whuch way to turn the wheel!)you should be fine, and will def pass by next summer
NAT, shopping sounds good . I agree that Next boy's stuff, for me at least, doesn't scream 'buy me!', and only enbded up with sleepsuits and two beanie hats for ds. I must have a look at fatface for when he is older though, as wear a lot of their stuff myself, plus dds like the girls' things. I have found that ASOS for kids have some great baby things though (up to toddlers I think?) and have ordered ds some bits in the sale. May be worth a look at there's some great reductions BTW if you are ever heading over the Manchester give me a shout and we could meet up for a coffee perhaps?? (only if you want to of course ). It's on;y 30 mins on the train for me, and could even research Acrington connection if that's easier? Ds seems to be a good traveller (ie, sleeps all the time) so would be nice to travel a bit while he's still in that stage!
Right, lunchtime!

Kayzr · 21/07/2009 12:59

Oh Diege, Glask and me are meeting in Manchester in the next few weeks. You and Nat are more than welcome to come. Nothing has been arranged yet though.

NatalieJane · 21/07/2009 13:19

LOL Diege, you turn the wheel the way you want to go! I can do the reversing bit, and I know the quarter turn here and half a turn there sequences they think up to "help" but have no idea where the car is physically, and crucially that if a part of the car that I can't see in the mirror is about to hit something, I'd have no clue till it hit! I think with me, I can do the driving part, it's the knowing where the car actually is (I am useless at looking at a space and thinking yep, I can get the car in there) and I'm not hot on complicated junctions, or at least complicated junctions that I don't know. I look at the wrong lights/lane/thing! Remember when I learning last time, he told me to turn right, I was that hung up on getting out of the junction and turning right that I some how managed to get through the junction, turned right, only to find myself entering a carpark rather than the road on the right So obviously those are the key things I need to concentrate on.

And yes, a meet is deffo in need. Problem is, when we do things like the TC yesterday it is a spurr of the moment thing, it's never planned (and I like it that way so DH can't come up with an excuse as to why I can't go! If I catch him on the hop there is very little he can do to get out of it! ) If you're sorting a meet in Manchester, get a day/time sorted and I'll see if he isn't working Diege, you are more than welcome to come to Accy (if you dare?!!) only thing is with the train, it would be a taxi ride from the station to my house or a 20 min walk into town where I could meet you (There is nothing either at the station or on the way from the station to town where we could meet really, couple of 'no kids allowed' pubs but that's your lot. Give me a couple of months, and I'll drive to Manc/Warrington (is that right?!) myself!

Kay, have fun with all the lessons I love that feeling when you're driving down the road, knowing that you can physically move the car where it needs to go (as long as you read the complcated junctions well enough not to end up in a carpark!! )

NatalieJane · 21/07/2009 13:20

Sorry Glask, have only just seen your last message, am about to nose at the pics, and happy anniversary

NatalieJane · 21/07/2009 13:24

Awwww Buster is lovely Glask Looks like butter wouldn't melt

glaskham · 21/07/2009 13:50

DS has swine flu!!! we're housebound with him for the next week- the GP said DH should be ok to go into work still as long as the company allow it... have just sent Dh to get DS's prescription for tamiflu... poor thing- his temp was 39.3 and rising last time i took it... and he has the runs, a runny nose, fatigue... and is off his food... just hope DD2 doesn't catch it- that the scariest bit!!

Kayzr · 21/07/2009 13:51

I am getting thoroughly annoyed with DH's work now. They are meant to put up the rota 3 weeks in advance so he should now what he is working next week and the week after. But they haven't been putting them up so he has no idea what he is working next week so I can't book a driving lesson for next week.

Diege · 21/07/2009 13:55

I know what you mean about reversing, but I just have no conception of which way to trun the wheel if, say, the front of the car is sticking out . Could just about reverse round corner, but parallel parking a total mystery. Would get in the space, but then be snaking down the road trying to get straight!!
Manchester would be great KAY, although I'm away first 2 weeks in August. NAT, 20 mins walk from station sounds doable into Accrington, if it's a straight forward walk with no trick turnings etc!! I'll have a look st the train timetables if you want? Alternatively we could wait till you've passed that test and meet in warrington/machester??

Diege · 21/07/2009 13:58

OMG GLASK that's so scary! Poor DS (and you!). I'm sure he'll be fine, what with being diagnosed and treated. Have they said what happens if babies get it? (Not wanting to scare you, but have been wondering myself if they can have tamiflu?)
Bummer too about lesson KAYZ, that is annoying about dh's work.

glaskham · 21/07/2009 14:09

not sure about babies and tamiflu- think i'll ring the helpline just to prepare myself for if she does catch it.

Kayzr · 21/07/2009 14:25

Glask that is very scary!! Hope ds is better soon and that the girls don't get it. Apparently it is common for just 1 child in a family to get it and no one else.

Diege, we'll have to sort out a meet in Whitby. Would be silly not to when you are so nearby.

Diege · 21/07/2009 14:47

Yes definitely KAYZ! Maybe by that outdoor paddling pool place? Does it ring any bells?

Kayzr · 21/07/2009 17:17

Up on the cliff Diege? I think I know where you mean.

Diege · 21/07/2009 17:34

Yes, I think so. Also has trampolines and go-carts track, plus some science museum place?

Kayzr · 21/07/2009 17:41

Yes I know where it is. We'll meet there.

DS1 keeps pouring juice into his dinner. Why can't he just eat it?

Diege · 21/07/2009 18:21

He does it because he can That's great about meeting up; must think about a date and I'll make sure I take your moby no. (and find out what mine is )

essenceofSES · 21/07/2009 18:22

Went to appointment. They weighed him and he's now 10lb 4oz so has put on 5oz since Thurs Saw Dr who couldn't work out why we'd been referred. She said he was gaining nicely and she'd be more worried if he suddenly put on loads of weight. She signed us off and discharhed us

Then went to next sale and I got DS 3 t-shirts, 2 prs trousers, tshirt and trouser outfit all for £20.50

Then managed to take him round shopping centre in Crawley and have lunch, then did Tesco and just got home!! Phew!!
It's great to have my niece for help and company!

Glaskham - poor DS. Keep us up to date on his progress. Buster looks really cute and really tiny!
Happy Anniversary!

Re driving - I passed my test when I was 18 and still struggle with parallel parking! Good luck with your lessons Nat & Kay!

Diege · 21/07/2009 19:00

That's excellent news SES . Must have been very satisfying too to have confirmed that your GP is a nutter Great shopping too.
Dh out again, so having to try and get them all up and in bed. Jacob has gone up, though for how long is anyone's guess, so just 3 of them to go!

Moosy · 21/07/2009 19:30

Good news on the appointment Ses, I guess it was worth going after all

I'm all excited now, my scan is tomorrow morning. DD1's coming with me instead of DH (he's working), she wants to "see if it's got a willy!"

glaskham · 21/07/2009 19:42

ses- glad the app went well- knew it'd all be fine- and you can be very proud of what you've gotten through together!!

DS is just getting worse so far today... not eating, temp still high, slept most of the day but was begging to go to bed and was asleep within 5mins. I'm feeling so sorry for him- i wish i couold have it instead of him the poor thing. And at the same time i'm glad he's got it and DD2 hasn't so far- i would honestly not sleep for a week if she caught it as i'd be so worried about what it could do to her.

Oh have found out you can break the capsules and put the medication into sugar water, chocolate syrup or apple sauce etc to take it easier.... that's exactly what it says on his tamiflu anyway- luckily he can take it in the capsule- what a clever boy!!

and buster has still been good as gold!! what an ace puppy- i'd reccomend his breed to anyone with DC's who wanted one!!

Kayzr · 21/07/2009 20:00

Our neighbour might have swine flu. The dr said it might be tonsilitous(sp) but also could be swine flu. Little bit worried now.

Glask, Buster is so cute!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 22/07/2009 08:57

Well we had another bad night.... O only woke up twice for a feed Which is good but then took me 2 hours to settle him after them and he wriggled around so much during the feeds that he was then sick after....... He must be so uncomfortable bless him it has been over a week since he last went to toilet. I tried OJ in a bottle last night he took a little but not much!!! Any other ideas????? He just wriggles if I try to rub his belly!!!! Dr said my ab may give him a runny bottom but they have done nothing for him so far (have cleared up my boobies nicely though!)

Right I am off to start housework but will check in in a little while....
