We have to book it now or not go on holiday. They are doing a deal that if you book your 2010 holiday now you get it at the 2009 price. So if we don't book it soon then we have another year without a holiday.

idreamofbeanie · 09/07/2009 15:31

Hi,

just back from my midwife appointment. All good - blood pressure okay, baby's heartbeat good and measuring correctly for dates (actually I'm sure I spotted a 30.5 when I am only 28+4 but she didn't seem concerned and just ticked the 28-32 box). The midwives at the surgery are all so lovely and laid back they never stress about any of these things, just say there is always a range and as long as baby and I seem healthy they are happy .

Should have gone back to work afterwards but decided to be lazy and just head home - boss is on holiady so I may as well take the opportunity.

Kayz - good luck. Can you have a back-up plan to get to your holiday place just so you don't put too much pressure on yourself? Not that I think you'll have a problem but agree with STT that stress makes it tougher.

LB - how is the feeding going today?

Nat - LOL at spider dream

Sparklytwinkletoes · 09/07/2009 15:38

LBOT, I'd have gone home too its not lazy, its essential.

Kayz, I didn't realise you were booking for next year - I thought you were trying to get it done in the next few weeks! Must have missed that bit in my catching up. See your point about trying to get the prices - but at the same time, try to avoid as much stress as you can around driving.

tinkisback · 09/07/2009 16:36

glaskham · 09/07/2009 17:05

i seriously can't get up to date with anyone.... been down for over a week since the lightening (did see it did the same to Nat)... it made the phone lines blow locally, and somehow blew the lines indoors too!!

On top of that we had the leaking emersion heater, but thats sorted now.

In the last week we've been to see about moving house... looks like its gonna cost us more to move than it'd be worth!! which is a bloody pain in the backside!! It'd cost us all the equity from this house to sell and have a deposit for the new mortgage and we'd be moving into a house of about 2 thirds the value of this one- how on earth does that frigin work??... anyway we've decided to stay put and renovate this!!

DD2 is starting to babble and have proper giggling!! it's very cute!! and she's now just over 10lb!!!! wuhoo!!

Kayz- manchester seems a good option- DH will take DS with him if i take both DD's with me... i'm sure we can find somewhere child friendly for our gangs!!

i'm currently trying to order from jojomamanbebe website its so busy!! i think i'm not gonna be able to complete my order- been waiting half an hour for one page to load!!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 09/07/2009 17:28

Hi Glask - good to 'see' you back! Its been a little quieter than normal without you around

Had to post, am sitting here, with DS snuggled up next to me, admittedly, a little scrunched up - baby is wriggling around so much at the moment that my right boob keeps bouncing up and down all by itself! LOL

Doesn't hurt yet, but am guessing if it carries on at this rate, feet in ribs are going to start getting uncomfortable.

We've got asda pizza for tea - got them to make me a ham, chicken, sweetcorn and mushroom one - can't wait for DH to come home and cook it for me (i'm not being super idle, I promise, its just that it always comes out either soggy or burnt when I do it - I do a mean lasagna though, even if I can't bake a pizza!!!!)

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 09/07/2009 18:45

Quick post from me...

STT - glad your appointment went ok and pizza sounds good!

Glask - good to have you back and great to hear Ruby's doing so well.

IDOB - glad all well with your appointment too

LBOT - hope all's ok with you? Have you done your 3 working days this week now? Hope everything's ok with you and your DH again now.

Kay - sorry realised I hadn't replied about the iron tablets. It really does depend on the stock the pharmacy had. If they're in a blister foil, the expiry date may be embossed at one end. Otherwise all I can say is that usually iron tablets would have an expiry of a couple of years from the date of dispensing.

We're off out for pub meal in a bit as it's DH's birthday. It will be DS's first trip to the pub

DS really seems to be changing in the last few days. He's filling out a bit and making lots more chatty, gurgly noises together with some lovely smiles.
He did manage another huge poo this morning. I heard it so took him upstairs to change him and whilst on his changemat there were ANOTHER FIVE explosions!!!

Oops, so much for a quick post!!!

Kayzr · 10/07/2009 06:58

Morning,

Ses, Hope you had a good night last night. The iron tablets are just in a bottle.

GLASK!!!!!! YAY!!!! Manchester is good for me too! So if we just pick a date now we can get tickets sorted out!!

Got that blood test today. I hate blood tests but fasting ones are the worst. I'll be starving by the time I get there.

Hope everyone is ok.

Kayzr · 10/07/2009 08:08

Nat, this website has a hazard perception test on it.

Diege · 10/07/2009 09:08

Morning! Hope everyone is well. SES, ds sounds lovely and that he is doing really well. LOL at exploding multi-poos; I remember having to put newspapers down on my knee when feeding dd as they were so explosive! Think it's a bf thing but can be quite dramatic
GLASK, you know I knew you'd be on the jojo site - I was too . Got dd3 that doggie dress on front of sale leaflet and a few other practical bits. Agree, was very slow site yesterday!
Hi KAYZ! I'm sure you will have passed your test by the holiday date, but agree that you don't want to pile the pressure on when you have so much on already. Did you sort out meeting with work?
Hello to everyone else . Have dd3 at hope today too and first trip to jo jingles with J and dd3! A bit nervous that he'll wake up and scream the room down, but will face it head on.. Just need to rain to keep away now!

Diege · 10/07/2009 09:09

dd3 at home, not 'hope';freudian slip there

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 10/07/2009 10:02

Morning!

Diege - enjoy Jo Jingles! I'm sure J will be the centre of attention and it won't matter if he's awake and contributing to the fun!

Kay - hope your blood test is soon over and done with.

I really need a name change. Have been thinking about it for a couple of weeks but can't come up with anything I'm convinced about. I'd like one that I don't need to keep changing that is - in essence - Ses. I can't have Ses though as it's already taken. Any suggestions?

Had a good time at the pub last night. DS was awake and feeding pretty much the whole time but we had good food and I had a lovely glass of red wine

Lovely day here today. I feelI should try and make the most of it

Sparklytwinkletoes · 10/07/2009 10:22

EssenceofSes?

tinkisback · 10/07/2009 10:23

morning

we had pizza last night bpught a pizza express garlic bread in tesco and magerita pizza yummy followed my gu cheescake

hi glas glad to have u back
hope you sort out jj order

any thoughts on sylvanian families?! for dds 4th bday

so chuffed was going to get dd1 as one of her xmas pressies leapfrog tag reading system retails @ £40, £30 on amazon i found it in tesco for £9 reduced so well pleased

have done loads of washing etc this morning

Kayzr · 10/07/2009 10:52

Tink get Sylvanian familes stuff!! I loved it so much when I was dd1's age. I'm hoping to persuade ds1 that he wants it.

Blood test was horrible. The nurse dropped one of the vials so I had to sit there with the needle in my arm while she got it. Results should be back Monday.

Diege · 10/07/2009 11:18

Wow what a bargain TINKS I love sylvanian families - remember my little sister having them and even at late teens thought they were cute. Didn't realise they were still going!
SES, hmm, will have a think about your name...odd that SES is gone already, maybe something like JUSTSES???
Have to say had forgotten how tough it was getting things done with a newborn and a toddler...Just as I dare try to clear the breakfast things someone either wees on the floor or is sick . Am taking the easy option for tea when they'll all be here and getting pizza! For now the thought of fitting in a shop between jo jingles and J's feed seems impossible, so will just go with the flow..
Oh meant to say had an odd phone call yesterday from the hospital. It was my consultant's secretary ringing to arrange an appointment for me to see the consultant. Something to do with my request to go through my notes (which I have done already with supervisor of midwives, albeit without notes present ). I asked what it was about and she was noncommital, though said the consultant said it needed a special meeting as opposed to usual clinic appoint..So not sure what to think. Had the usual panic where I thought it involved bad news (ie, some test they'd done that showed I had weeks to live.., but on calming down think C has deemed it necessary to see me again to go through things, as I do have to sign to say I'm happy with things etc and he knows I'm a bit of a gobby so and so... Will ring midwife on Monday when she's back in anyway, as she wanted to speak to me yesterday (dh was convinced she was the hv )I also have my 6 week check the week after to go through the EM section ...at this rate I'll get post-traumatic stress just through all this debriefing!!!
Right, all is quiet..will attempt to unload dishwasher if I can be so bold. Back later x

Kayzr · 10/07/2009 11:31

Just trying to get Dylan to eat something with lumps in. Not going down too well really.

Moosy · 10/07/2009 12:27

Saw GP this morning about my low iron, he's arranging a consultant appointment and thinks they might want to do a tranfusion. Part of me says 'eek no!', the other part says 'yes please, more blood and better quality!' Of course my mum (daily mail reader! ) says 'oooh no, you don't want to catch hepititis!'

tinkisback · 10/07/2009 13:17

Hi everyone:

Only have a minute, but just wanted to pop in with a quick hello.

DH seems back to normal now which means whole argument will be swept under the rug - until of course it crops up again! I just don't have the energy to rehash it so that it's actually been resolved at this point. Hate to go into parenthood having not resolved issues, but I guess that's just how it goes...

Anyway, Hi to Glask! Glad to see you back!

Saw Dr yesterday and all is well - this is the most uneventful pregnancy ever! (thankfully, actually!) Baby's head is 1/5 engaged, bump measures spot on and heartbeat is 128bpm. Does that sound low to anyone?

Will do a better job of catching up later on! Xx
