Sparklytwinkletoes · 10/07/2009 15:56

Hi LBOT, just a quick post, think you'll find that heart rate is about standard for your stage of pregnancy. It picks up a bit during labour (not surprising) and settles again after birth - but don't quote me on that...

Not long to go for you at all now! Good that baby is the right way around and showing signs of engagement...I hope the birth is as 'non eventful' as the pregnancy has been for you!

glaskham · 10/07/2009 17:03

Have been shopping all day... sall shopped out now... i went to my local next outlet and got a huge bag of things (mainly for DD1) and it only cost me £30!! i got tons of bits for £1 and £2 each... jeans, leggings, tops, dresses- nothing cost me more than £2!! very pleased with them!! got her lots in the next size too so she has stuff to 'grow into'.

Managed to finish my jojo order last night... got the wooden letter to spell all Dc's names, and also got them to spell my nephews name too!! also got them all a peg with their initial to hang their towels on in the bathroom, did want the baby play gym for DD2, but its not on the website.

Have got rid of DS for the weekend- he's going to scotland with my parents, sister and nephew till sunday evening. They are taking him for a chinese tomorrow aswell- so i think i'll treat DD1 to a day out with me... we're going to do nail polish and a bit of eyeshadow in the morning and maybe the sealife centre in the afternoon.

Right DD is asking for her tea so i better dash and sort her before she falls asleep.

I have caught up since yesterday i promise.... BUT it has all just gone over my head since writing the rest!!

tinkisback · 10/07/2009 18:43

sparkly - glad mw went ok

glas - is good to be all shopped out
sounds like you did very well
tom plans sound great too

Kayzr · 10/07/2009 18:46

OOooh shopping Glask!! Sounds brilliant!! I'm going to Meadowhall next Thursday with my best friend. I can not wait!! It is our wedding anniversary next Wednesday so DH said I could just treat myself to something nice!

Starshinetiger · 10/07/2009 20:39

Ooh, Glask - shopping sounds great.
Sparkly - glad mw went okay
Diege - I suppose soo much after care is better than none at all?
Kayz - sounds like a lovely planned shopping trip.

Okay - am off out on my best friend's hen do tomorrow, still very nervous and know I won't enjoy it 100% because of it, but will still be nice. Have posted the following Q about using expressed milk in bf topic, but wondered if any of you ladies know?

So, think we're all there with being prepared (except my nerves!):

Expressed milk in fridge to defrost overnight (check)
DD will take bottles (Check - although, hope she hasn't gone off them in last week, as don't have enough supply to spare some to check her again!)
Bottles in sterilising (Check)
MIL arriving mid-morning (Check)

BUT - DH wants to go out to town to give DS a run around tomorrow and go to Nandos, so they don't have to cook - can he take a bottle of expressed milk with him for DD? Leaflet with my expresser says not to store it at room temperature ever. Anyone done this?

You may well all have gone off for evening/weekend, but worth a shot

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 10/07/2009 20:57

Hello!!

Star - I've always used frozen EBM either from fridge having defrosted over night or immediately after defrosting by placing in a bowl of tepid water. I often use EBM that has been stored at room temperature for up to 6 hours though and I'm sure defrosted EBM if taken from the fridge, would be fine for a few hours. Hope that helps...

Glask - v impressed with your Next shop. I have a £20 giftcard for Next that I haven't spent yet as we don't have a next in Redhill or Reigate. Will have to head to Crawley or Sutton and spend it!!

LBOT - STT is right about the heart rate so don't worry

tink - sorry don't really know about Sylvanian families. Great rolling from Bracken!

Moos - do you know how long you may have to wait for consultant appointment? I know what you mean about being able to look at the situation in different ways but at the end of the day, it's good that they're keeping an eye on it.

Have posted on the May09 thread about my name too. Thank you for your suggestions Diege and STT. I quite like both of those and see how you've got them
Will have a think.... (any other suggestions still welcome too!)

Kayzr · 11/07/2009 07:12

glaskham · 11/07/2009 10:42

Morning-

Kayz- sorry you were up so early!!

Me and DD1 are having a PJ day in front of the tv.... she's watching tinkerbell movie, we watched aristocats before that!! Think we're having a day out tomorrow with my sister instead.

I'm considering being a surrogate again.... any views anyone?

OP posts:
Kayzr · 11/07/2009 10:47

Glask, It depends on what the chances of having another prem baby are. If Ruby was a one off and that your chances of having another prem are slim then go for it. But if your chances are increased then I don't know if I would want to risk it.

glaskham · 11/07/2009 11:07

Kayz- when i spoke to my GP (all the way back at my 6wk PN check) he said ruby being prem was just something that had happened, it could happen again, it may not. as there was no known reason for her being early he expects everything would be fine...

OP posts:
Kayzr · 11/07/2009 11:13

Then I'd say if you were 100% about it then go for it.

GYo · 11/07/2009 12:01

Morning

Quick hi

I had my BFP a year ago today!!!! a year has gone so fast

Glask- being a surrogate is a great thing to do... but could you take being that sick (morning sicknees) again with 3 kids to look after? Otherwise, its a lovely thing to do

Star, think Ses is right re EBM. Enjoy your hen night.

Got to run and tidy whilst DD is napping.

Diege · 11/07/2009 13:00

Quick hi from me too! Hectic here, dds crazy We have avillage festival this weekend, so am taking older dds and J to arts and crafts market, and dh is taking dd3 to a party.
STAR, enjoy your night - used to keep EBM out at room temp for at least a few hours with dd1 - was told at the time that it doesn't break down like ff, hence will last up to 5 days in fridge (compared to 24 hrs for ff).
GLASK, agree with GYO, as long as you can handle the sickness etc then go for it! Have you got a couple in mind?
Hi KAYZ, hope you get some rest today after last night
TINKS, wow sounds like dd1 has got a good stash of stuff for her birthday. TBH I'd be tempted to keep a few bits back for xmas, but then we have been trying to slim down their present list to keep costs down with 4!
GYO, does having the anniversary of your bfp make you wistful for another??
Hope everyone is well - back later!

tinkisback · 11/07/2009 14:03

hi

glas - what a lovely thing to do

diege - have already sorted xmas have got her leapfrog tag system also getting 3 books and leapster plus games for xmas as we rae up in hull @ xmas with dhs parents dont want to take lots of things up.
i ued to get her alot more than that

Kayzr · 11/07/2009 15:19

Tink, I think I might give you a list of Xmas presents and the money and let you do mine. You are just so organised!!

sorky · 11/07/2009 15:29

Hello Ladies

How's everyone doing? I've been away on hols so haven't even attempted a catchup, though LB did a really good round-up for me.

Tink I'm shopping for xmas too Don't have too much more to get

Diege how are you managing with 4?

3 people have announced this week they are pg and I'm very happy for them, but not in the least bit broody, I'm very pleased to say.

Kayz perhaps you need to think about whether you'll be heavily pg next July before booking the holiday, should you go ahead with ttc.
I have to go back to work in a months' time too. I don't particularly want to go atm, but I know it's the best thing for me to do. I'll regret it if I leave and it's only one day a week so hardly like going f-time I suppose.

Moosy I still haven't got time to post the blimmin' t-shirt, Monday, promise.

essenceofSES · 11/07/2009 17:27

Hello!!

I have my new name!!

Someone on the May09 thread suggested exactly the same as you did STT so I decided to go for it!

Sorky - good to have you back! Hope you had good hols.
I agree about going back to work - I really don't want to but know I should and we'll need me to for the mortgage. Guess I'm lucky that I won't be going back until Jan.

tink - Kay is right. I'd love to hire you to do my Christmas shopping for me!

Glask - tbh, I'm suprised you're considering surrogacy again as I thought you were quite adamant about not going there again and not being pg again. However, I know things change and if taking everything into account, you are 100%, then go for it! It is a v generous thing to do.

We are having a very good day here
I managed to get into Crawley to go shopping and DS fell asleep just before we arrived and stayed asleep until 5 minutes before we got home! I managed to stock up on some essentials in Boots and take advantage of the 3for2 on No7 and buy O a couple of outfits, buy a set of white wicker baskets to use in O's room in Cargo, some jeans in Debenhams and have lunch at Costa!! O was such a good little boy!

He saved his exploding poo for when we got home this time so had to give him a bath and change his clothes then but once I'd done that he lay happily kicking away on my bed whilst I unpacked the shopping!!

On top of all that, one nice lady whilst shopping commented that she thought he looked big for 9 weeks. I didn't like to tell her that the last time he was weighed, he was between the 2nd & 9th centiles
That was 10 days ago though so she's given me hope that maybe he's climbing up to be nearer the 9th than the 2nd He's weighed next on Thursday...

Anyway, must get back to making the most of this good day!

tinkisback · 11/07/2009 17:57

tink grins like a cheshire cat at thought of doing more shopping and @ her great shopping skills.

ses - great name and your day sounds good 2

getting rest of xmas pressies oct and nov

bumpsnowjustplump · 11/07/2009 21:01

evening all hope you are all well...

Been out all day. Went on river boat then to a farm then back on boat and got bus home.. DD loved it but only wanted to be with her daddy so me and owen chilled by ourselves. He has had a good day as well. Fed a lot more (although not as much as he should ) and slept for about 2 hours while we were out so all good... Except for dd being very hostile to me at the moment. It is very upsetting but I am trying to act as if it is ok because she doesn't see dp very much... Please tell me this will not last!!! She even asked if I could stay at home today (little monkey)

DP's dads bday tomorrow so out all day and then it is our hospital appointment monday so fingers crossed he will sign us off......

Kayzr · 12/07/2009 07:14

Morning,

DS2 got us up at half 4 this morning. I'm thinking he might not be getting enough food but he has loads.

Almost booked holiday. Just got to choose somewhere to go. Still deciding between Hampshire, Somerset area or the lakes.

Sorky hope you had a good holiday.

Hope everyone is ok.

Diege · 12/07/2009 09:38

Morning! Aww KAYZ you must be shattered On a better note your hols choices sound good - think I'd plump for the Lakes myself, but then weather down south may be better?
SES, sounds a brilliant day (love the new name too). And such good timing with the exploding poo
Hi SORKY!! How was the holiday with 4 of them?? Any advice?? We've got 2 weeks in Whitby to endure look forward to, so any tips gratefully received!
LB, dd3 has also 'gone off' me, so know how you feel...dh is def fave, although I have to admit I'm quite happy about it at the moment . Enjoy your day today
Odd night/morning with J. He's been getting into the habit of waking after an hour of being put upstairs in basket at 7pm, and being pretty inconsolable, so have ended up getting him down after an hour or so of consoling/cuddles etc etc. So he's down with us last night from 9ish till 11, just lying still gazing at TV (slumdog millionnaire ) (feed at 10.00), wakes at 2ish grizzling but ignore so he goes back to sleep, then wakes at 5.40 . So feeling vaguely human this morning. Also experienced the joy of boy wees today, with him weeing all over the bed, several times. Had to change the sheets, got him into his day clothes, came back in room to be greeted by exploding poo seeping through his cashmere playsuit (present obviously ). Change him again, go and get fresh bedding for moses basket, come back just in time to witness projectile vomit all over our new bedding... He's in bed now, but was starting that poo grunting again when I left him .
Right, better dash as dd3 starting again...
That reminds me SORKY, life with 4 for the first few weeks has been VERY tough, but we are slowly getting there. The school hols will be the real test though!

tinkisback · 12/07/2009 09:47

morning

oh no diege hope he is ok!!

we are going to make pizzas with dd1 to encourage her to try new things

Diege · 12/07/2009 09:59

Hi TINKS! Yes, he's fine, just a guzzler having had closely spaced feeds. Reflux is there, but not bothering him at present, so not concerned. Pizzas sound great - we always have bases in to do - not brave enough to make those myself! How is dd1 at the moment? Would you like to swop for dd3?

glaskham · 12/07/2009 10:07

Re- surrogacy.... the friends that i was very close to offering help to after ending things with the couple i'd actually offered to help (hope thats read-able) still haven't found a surrogate... and i'd love to offer to help them... the sickness is a little bit of a worry, BUT, i'd have my friends to help out with my DC's should i be too ill, and the GP would be able to prescribe me cyclazine if i needed it... so i can kinda see a way round the risk of sickness... i mean if i forgot just how bad it was already it can't have been that bad could it?? We're meeting up with them in a couple of weeks for a day out... it'd be nice to have decided if i 'could' put myself through it all again....

Diege- sorry J is getting upset at nights... I yhave only just started putting DD2 to bed in her cot alone at nights and she's nearing 5mths old... but DD1 was going to bed at 7pm every night from 2wks old... each baby is different i suppose, couldn't have done it earlier this time round even if i'd wanted to- she used to cluster feed till my bedtime!!
