ses - hope your day is less stressful

nat - well done with lesson

i would wean him i started weaning both girls @ 4 months and dd1 didnt sit up till 9 mnths. dont see why they need to sit up i fed both of them in bouncer till they could sit up.

just about to have lunch and watch gaving and stacey and ladette to lady then getting bracken weighed

lastboxoftampons · 08/07/2009 11:46

Well, I guess it was the night for shit nights...DH and I had a massive fight last night. Really takes away from the excitement of the baby as who wants to bring a child into a relationship like this! And I feel totally crap today - plus had a really awful commute. Just not in the mood for life today - anyone else?

Ses - sorry about your crap outing, but I agree you handled it really well. And so lovley of that woman to get you a hot chocolate! Almost restores your faith in humanity!

Nat - sounds like you're a driving wiz!

Diege - good news about your stomach muscles

Kay - so sorry your DS1 was sick! Hope he's feeling better soon.

GYO - hope you can manage to get an appointment - sounds very painful! Your muffins sound lovely. I always think it's so funny when people call things "American Style" - especially when it comes to fridges for some reason. I honestly knew about one person who had a side by side fridge and it was a bit crap because each side was too narrow to fit anything in! but, I guess I understand why they're called that.

Kayzr · 08/07/2009 11:48

LBOT, Sorry about row. Hope things are better soon. I had that "American Style" with my cupcakes for DS2's christening. MIL said to DH and me that they were "a bit American for a christening" I mean WTF!! How can a cake be American, surely it is just a cake??

lastboxoftampons · 08/07/2009 12:16

Thanks, Kay. and LOL about your MIL's comment! We DO have christenings in America, you know! And we even have cakes for them!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 08/07/2009 13:28

Hi all, its taken me ages to catch up from yesterday, and I've forgotten most of it, except that most of you seem to have had crap nights - sorry about that, hope they sleep during the day for you so that you can catch up with rest?

Am feeling completely washed out, like somebody has drained all my blood away. Feel hardly capable of moving. DS is in nursery this morning, got to go get him in a minute though, after they left (DH and DS) early this morning, I went back to bed and had an extra three hours sleep and it doesn't really seem to have helped.

I've got a Madwife appt. tomorrow to get my Matb1 form so I can claim Maternity Allowance, I'll ask if she can check my iron levels, even though she reassured me last time that they couldn't be low unless I'd had an enormous bleed

I AM SOOOOO TIRED.

There's toys all over the floor in front of me that I 'sorted out' yesterday with DS, that need bagging up / binning. I just can't be bothered to even think about going and getting a bin bag and putting them in.

I need to go food shopping too :-(

Perhaps I'll just get what I need for tonight and do an online shop for the rest .

Sorry for me, me, me - I just feel SOOOOOO terrible.

Am a bit off my food at the moment too - don't think the blocked nose helps.

Sparklytwinkletoes · 08/07/2009 13:28

(catch up from Monday, I couldn't get online yesterday)

idreamofbeanie · 08/07/2009 13:43

Hi STT - sorry you are feeling so rubbish . I feel a bit crap today too - I guess we have both crashed straight into the third trimester .

I'm very tired today and my bump aches all over for some reason. Combined with the braxton hicks thingies it is making me quite uncomfortable and I'm just feeling a bit fed up - probably the post-holiday blues. I feel bad for whinging though when so many of you have had difficult nights with the LOs .

Kayz - don't worry about the theory, I think it's one of those things that just clicks all of a sudden and you'll wonder how you ever struggled with it.

Nat - sounds like you are a natural behind the wheel.

LBOT - sorry for fight with DH . How are you feeling today? Do you think it's just the hormones and worries making you fall out? It's so exciting knowing you are getting closer to meeting your baby but I know my DP is also starting to feel a bit stressed.

Tink - hope you had a nice lunch.

Gyo - hope you managed to see the GP

Hi Diege

Moosy · 08/07/2009 13:52

STT, your MW is talking bollocks! My iron test results from last week came back today, it's dropped to 9.5 and I've been taking loads of iron and not bleeding from anywhere!

I rang up for my results today and the receptionist said "Dr's seen them and has marked them as satisfactory" I asked for the actual number anyway and she said 9.5 so I said, "That's NOT satisfactory! I might be for him but it's not for me!" So I've got a Dr's appointment on friday. Not sure what they can actually do about it, but at least I can try!

Well done with the driving Nat, you really sound like you're getting out of the rut that you were stuck in!

Good news about your tummy muscles Diege, the tubigrip sounds delightful SIL had one after having twins (both were 7lb) and she now has a flat flat tummy, so it can be done!

bumpsnowjustplump · 08/07/2009 16:43

Owen had another bad night last night. He was awake from 2 until 6 then slept till 8. He has not fed all day today and I am stressing out about my supply on top of everything else.. So I have taken the hardest decision to try formula (he may or may not take it anyway). I feel that I am now at the end of my teather and today has been so bad he just will not feed and I just cant take anymore. I feel I am failing him and nothing anyone will say will make me feel any different.... I just want to sit and cry for hours, I feel that the bond I have with him will now go and that i will not be able sooth him etc etc....

I have bought a DR Brown bottle today as they are ment to be good with reflux and 3 trial cartons of aptimal.... Has anyone tried this??

GYo · 08/07/2009 16:49

Hello everyone

IBOB- sorry for achiness and tiredness. Dont envy that bit of pregnancy at all.

STT- sorry you are tired too, hope you can get to the bottom of it. Maybe you just need more rest (read that as time lounging on sofa, MNing and eating choc brownies!)

Hi Nat

Ses- photos are great, you take a great picture.

LBOT- sorry for row, sent you a message on FB.

Got Fluconazole from GP, despite her telling me it wasnt licenced for BFing... weird, thought she'd say no, then just gave it to me Glad I got it thought as my boobs are aching a lot more now. Only thing is DDs symptoms arent improving with her medicine and we are nearly at the end of it.... Cant face ANOTHER GP appointment!

DH gone out this afternoon so its nice to have some time in the house alone but downside is that its a mess so need to get tidied up shouldnt complain as I just had a nice lunch out with the NCT ladies. Even the competitive one was on good form!

idreamofbeanie · 08/07/2009 16:54

Oh Bump - sorry things aren't getting any easier for you . I know my SIL originally used Tommy Tippee bottles with SMA milk but swapped to Dr Brown bottles and aptimil which she said were much better (DN had an upset stomach and was a bit more sicky when she changed from breastfeeding to bottle feeding although she wasn't ever very bad but they had no problems at all once they changed to Dr Browns bottles and Aptimil). She didn't have reflux though so I don't know how useful that is for you. Fingers crossed it works for DS and hopefully DH can at least do some feeds so you can get some sleep. You must be shattered!

GYo · 08/07/2009 16:57

Hi Bumps

So sorry you are feeling so sad

It is a hugely difficult decision to make so im not suprised you feel sad. I've not been throught what you have but I'd say its ok to feel sad etc. Take care of yourself and you've done brilliantly to get as far as you have done.

Lets sort out a date for the Reigate priory park? We can have real muffins then.

Maybe 27th or 28th July? or monday after? Im fairly easy on days. Mondays or Tuesdays are good for me.

Ses/ Gruff - any good for you two?

Moosy · 08/07/2009 16:57

Oh Bumpy, so sorry you feel this way, you've done amazingly well already, I got where you are now at only 11 weeks with DD1. I've never used Aptimil but I've heard good things about it. How long is it until your hospital appointment? Also remember that just because you try formula, it doesn't mean you're committed to it, and it doesn't mean you'll lose your bond either, (I feel I actually have a closer bond with DD2 who was FF from 11 days) and of course you'll be able to comfort him you're his mummy!

You're NOT failing him, and if you need to sit and cry, then do sit and cry, I know I have done many many times and it does help (but I try to wait until no-one's looking! ). Reflux is such a demoralising bugger, it really is, I would say don't let it get you down but of course it does, but don't let it keep you down.

Moosy · 08/07/2009 17:02

Oh, and I tried Dr Brown's bottles with DD2 when she was bad and found them too much of a faff so reverted back to the standard wide neck Avent ones. Had to try a few different teats before we found one that suited her.

DH is buying steak on his way home but has been held up so am stealthily eating wotsits to keep me going, the vultures DDs haven't heard the packet rustling yet! Shhhhhh....

GYo · 08/07/2009 17:03

Oh, re bottles and formula.

My friend has baby with bad colic and uses easy digest formula and doctor browns. Both these have really helped. I know its not the same as reflux but it cant hurt to try.

Star mentioned hypoallergenic formula previosly too... might be worth trying

bumpsnowjustplump · 08/07/2009 17:09

Hospital appointment is on Monday, I think the drugs he's on are definatly working for him as he doesn't seem to be in as much pain. He is still sick but has good and bad days!! It is just the non sleeping, non feeding that is getting me down. I cant stay in all the time just incase he doesn't feed so that I can express.... He is quiet happy today he just will not feed he has been on for about 15 mins all day... Which means I will be up all night agian I expect. But I am worried that I wont produce enough milk if he doesnt feed in the day!!! I also can not go on with such little sleep, if nothing else it is not fair on dd as I keep snapping at her!!!!

Well I am going to try formula tonight at 7 so we will see how it goes... I really hate reflux and if it was a person i might bob it on the nose...

bumpsnowjustplump · 08/07/2009 17:11

Oh yes star if you are lurking what was the formula you tried?? Can you buy it over the counter?

Moosy · 08/07/2009 17:12

I think I'd chop its arms and legs off and beat it with the wet ends!

bumpsnowjustplump · 08/07/2009 17:18

Wait in line Mossy I am there first....

DP keeps sending me silly text messages to try and make me feel better!!! He has just said he will be my taxi for a month so i can have a drink at all upcoming parties....... He is trying but just doesn't get it....

Moosy · 08/07/2009 17:24

Aw bless him, at least he's trying, but no, that's not really the point is it? Still, if you do get hammered every night he'll have to get up and do all the night feeds while you sleep in drunken bliss!

tinkisback · 08/07/2009 18:38

new fluffy cushions

tinkisback · 08/07/2009 18:38

got bracken weighed in 2 weeks she has gained 6ozs is now 12lbs15ozs folowing 2nd centile

Sparklytwinkletoes · 08/07/2009 18:46

Ooooooooooohhhh wispa and haagendaszszs (however you spell it?!)

I hauled backside of sofa, collected DS, popped into see friends for quick cup of tea, dropped some stuff at the tip, went shopping and came home. Have since, emptied the fridge of all sprouting, running, oozing items (bleurgh), repacked it with all new items, emptied and loaded the dishwasher, washed DH's shirts, tidied the lounge, MN, and cooked some jacket pots for tea.

Really ought to get on and feed ds though

Am feeling better after my whinge, I like a good whinge, it makes me annoyed with myself and normally galvanises me into action!

Moos, interesting what you say about my MW, I'm fairly sure she's talking rubbish too, if she doesn't offer me a blood test tomorrow (which would be 28 week test a few days early), I'll book an appt with the doctor. I need a new prescription for AD's anyway so it won't be a wasted appt.

Right, really must feed my son! . Promise I'll try and catch up with all your afternoon postings after DS has gone to bed.

Starshinetiger · 08/07/2009 19:32

Okay, don't know what's happening here, as I didn't mean to post then, don't know if post is showing, as MN keeps just showing me first few messages on this thread up to 14 June!
