Sorky and Diege thanks for that i am pleased because the bugger will not take the bottle......

Any ideas about the rolling business..

Diege cake sounds good ummm coffee

GYo · 28/06/2009 09:44

Hi Diege

Hurray for sleeping! Even if it is a one off its a great recharge

I also have separated muscles and its still all so loose, need to start some sit ups i think!

I did nutrition degree and part trained to be a dietitian and worked as a nutrition consultant for a few years.

Off to a pizza party today, better wear a hat!

GYo · 28/06/2009 09:47

LB

i'd be tempted to put him in a cot now, he might be able to roll the moses basket over!

Diege · 28/06/2009 09:51

LB, think even with rolling moses basket should be ok, but having said that mine were all at the cot stage anyway when they atrted rolling. If you have a cot ready etc may be worth a try, even if you go back to basket? Maybe try putting basket in cot for a few nights before making the big move if you decide that's for the best?
GYO, have you been referred to physio for your tummy? I'm not holding my breath here for an appointment although I have been referred. There's a good book I've seen on other threads that I'm getting off Amazon (when I remember its name) about how to get the muscles back together - am determined to get out of my maternity clothes before end of leave!

Kayzr · 28/06/2009 09:56

The castle in Pickering!! Up a very big hill!! But it is grey and horrible here, so if it rains we might be staying in.

Just had a small power cut here. By the time DH had got through to the electic company the power was back.

DS1 has just looked at me with huge adorable eyes and asked if we can have a red puppy dog for the front room. Awwwwww!!

glaskham · 28/06/2009 09:58

bad night here- DD2 had me up at 11pm, 12pm, 2.30-4.30, then at 5am and 6am before i gave in and got her up... she's had 4 full feeds since we got up- could this be the 18wk growth spurt for her? i mean she may be different to the 'average' baby on growth spurts as she's only just got to what she should have been at birth really.... I'm dead on my feet after the last 4 nights of poor sleep and DH hasn't got a day off till friday now!!

LB- i have never fed EBM after a drink... though i do normally stick to one while BF if i do have a drink.... but when DS was 4mths old i had a girls night out and had a fair amount (around the equivalent of a bottle of wine) but fed DS when he woke in the night... he was fine. I do also think something in that is that some babies are fussy about the taste of the milk the day after- none of mine have ever been fussy about taste.

Moosy · 28/06/2009 09:59

GYo/Diege, if your muscles are separated you mustn't do sit ups yet as you'll make them worse. Speak to your MW/HV/GP about exercises you can do and if it doesn't get better then ask for physio. I didn't and mine are wrecked so I shall be a bit more forceful with my demands after this one's out!

Well done for keeping going with the BFing Diege, every little bit is worth it!

Bumpy can you put the moses basket in the cot for a while so he gets used to it?

DD2 is doing well with her potty training, only one or two tiny half accidents each day now

glaskham · 28/06/2009 10:02

oh LB- i'd have said it'd probably be safest to put him into the cot... DD2 went into her cot 2 nights ago- i know she's still small enough for the moses basket but i'm sick of it!! And i love seeing her in her cot- she loves it!!

OP posts:
Kayzr · 28/06/2009 10:04

DS2 has been in his cot since he was about 3 months old because he just outgrew the moses basket so quickly.

Diege · 28/06/2009 10:48

Ooh didn't realise there was a castle in Pickering KAYZ, may well visit during our Whitby hols
MOOS, thanks for exercise advice . Am in no rush to do sit-ups in the slightest, and am just at the pelvic floor stage really Am pleased to read that I mustn't hoover for 6 weeks in the booklet I was given

juleshaslostheridol · 28/06/2009 10:59

hi

i would definetly move into cot bracken has been in cot for ages she got to long for moses is a very long girl 66cm 91st centile.
they have so much more room in the cot

glas - soz for bad night

have swapped to fast flow teats for bracken from 7am feed drank 4ozs in 4 mins usually has alot less will hopefully help.

mum has gone all on my own today
dd1 had a bump on head from table iso k mum got some butterfly stitches has them on.

regarding bubbles michaels monkey he had him in the 80's

sorky · 28/06/2009 11:56

DON"T DO ANT SIT-UPS!!!!
sorry didn't mean to shout, but it's rather important as Moosy rightly said, not to do any ab work until they have knitted back together. Dd2 was about 16 weeks before mine felt right again.

Bumpy stick him in the cot it's worth a shot.

Have a lovely day everyone, I'm up to my ears in washing and family-stress.
The cat settled well yesterday but escaped out of their door this morning and hasn't been seen since. The new owner is beside herself! We have a huge guilt trip!!
They live in the country, no roads near or anything, but I do hope he returns

Kayzr · 28/06/2009 13:53

Back from our walk!! Never NEVER again!!! We took DS2 in the back carrier and it was awful. DH fell over with it on but fell forward so DS2 was fine. I then carried it and it really really pulls on my neck.

So pushchair next time I think.

juleshaslostheridol · 28/06/2009 14:57

oh no kay that sounds like a right pain !!

me and dd1 have been having a great time playing carnival mini golf on the wii it is great and dd1 luvs it

juleshaslostheridol · 28/06/2009 15:54

bracken says dada
she will be 23 weeks tom

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 28/06/2009 20:05

Jules - that's v cute. She must be bright as a button!

Sorky - I lost most of my weight within the first 10 days and have now stabalised about 7lbs above pre pg weight. I was about a stone overweight on top of that as well though...
Hope the cat's turned up?

Kay - walk sounds good but not the back carrier.

Diege - I missed that about the hoovering! Don't think I've done that much though

Moos - well done on the potty training!

We did a bbq this afternoon with a couple of friends round. DS found being outside just too hot bless him. Finallly managed to get him to sleep - he's on a pillow on the sofa (don't panic, I'm sat beside him!). I think the pillow case is nice and cool for him.

He's really starting to become more responsive now. Yesterday I had lots of smiles and he spent about 20mins staring at himself in the mirror on his playmat

Starshinetiger · 28/06/2009 20:52

Sorky - thanks for help on FB.
to everyone else - too busy getting sorted for tomorrow (and needing to get house vaguely respectable as Mum coming to look after DS overnight) to stop and chat.
But, before I forget - Bumpy - could take a few days (up to a week) for dairy will be out of your system and will likely get through to your milk within 2 days (I think - I am not an expert, just have experience). I also accidentally ate dairy this week - some dark choc, which had milk in it - milk choc is supposed to have choc in it, not dark!! DD still being sick today, but as I think it was probably Weds and Thurs I ate the choc, that's not unexpected.

Actually been writing this post over an hour, as DD disturbed, so have probably cross-posted with others.

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/06/2009 21:02

Oh no I was hoping you would all say that he would still be ok in moses. We dont have a cot only a cot bed and it is in DD's room (no way we can fit it in ours..) I was really hoping he would be going through the night before he went in there!!!

Someone has offered us there rocking crib will this be better then the moses basket apparently you can put pin in it to stop it rocking....

I dont want him in Jessicas room yet not only will he wake her but I will miss him.. He is growing so quickly he is now in 3 to 6 month clothes and my fav babygrow (sorky gave it to me) is too small for him boooo hoooo

juleshaslostheridol · 28/06/2009 22:52

ses -bbq sounds good - it has been too hot !!

bump - how old is he?

with bracken we were all set to put her in with dd1 when she slept through got fed up with her in our room before then wasnt to abd. had cot set up in dd1s room ready while i was pregnant to get her used to change in her bedroom. as we have our bedroom downstairs now they have there own rooms.
do what ever feels ready to you?
when we moved bracken out i felt very ready as she was shuffling in mose quite alot and wanted one on one time with dh again

nite nite
x

Kayzr · 29/06/2009 07:53

Morning,

Bumpy, DS2 is still in our room, but is moving this week. Especially after last night he woke me up and he didn't want anything.

I've got to ice DS2's christening cake today. I am really worried it will look awful!!

Hope everyone is well.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 29/06/2009 08:29

Morning!

Kay - exciting to be icing the cake! When is the christening?
We're hoping to do DS christening 15th or 16th August.

Kayzr · 29/06/2009 08:37

Sunday. So doing the marzipan today and the icing tomorrow.

I'm going shopping to Leeds with Mum on Friday. Really looking forward to spending some time with Mum and sometime away from the boys

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 29/06/2009 08:47

Sounds good!!
You'll have to post a picture of the cake when it's done, and some from the day of course!

Diege · 29/06/2009 09:13

Morning! Cake sounds great KAYZ, as does trip to Leeds . Agree with SES, we need a piccy please!
Just wondering what everyone's doing bedding-wise for their babies at the moment? I usually swaddle, as wothout J thrashes about and wakes himself up. Obviously with the heat I'm worried about this, though have been alternating between single sheet just tucked under arms, and sheet swaddle (J just in a nappy). He's also getting too big for moses basket would you believe at just 2 weeks (arms resting up against sides) but no way even thinking of a cot just yet!!
Supervisor of midwives due this afternoon, and nursery visit this morning (long story, bit stressful) and hopefully be able to catch the tennis later on too.
Hope everyone is well and had reasonable nights last night!!

sorky · 29/06/2009 09:42

Bumpy, cribs tend to be bigger than Moses baskets. Dd2 is still in a crib, unswaddled, she can touch the sides but doesn't wake up. She is very long and 17lbs it still holds her fine
which babygro?

Diege I would swaddle in one light sheet and nappy & short sleeved bodysuit.

Another muggy day here, washing to finish then off out for the afternoon
