Morning!

Calypso-wow £100 sounds good-would you be able to find out where she got it from? I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get your home birth I think you can use 2nd hand pools but they have to be the sort that have a liner and you HAVE to use a new liner-you even have to put a new liner in if you have had the pool set up and have used it at the end of your pg. I'd also want to throughly clean it so it may be too much work-especially if I can get one for £100!

ongrats lal on your scan-another girl

I don't have piles yet(didn't with dd either)-they do not sound nice though-I hope they don't cause you too much trouble!

Treats-congrats on your exams-I hope you had a lovely evening!

HT-i hope you feel better soon x x x

DD isn't even 3 yet and I have just found out we need to make school choices by the autumn Can't get my head around that-i've only just sorted out pre-school!!!

Better go and get sorted-dd didn't wake up til 9 and my mum is coming down for the day-she'll be here soon and niether of us are dressed yet

smallone · 10/06/2009 10:13

LAL - I've got a form that has my details and signature and MW signs it and has drs stamp on it, then when I post it off I'll get a credit card type card to claim my exemption.

Treats · 10/06/2009 12:27

Morning all

Had to walk for three quarters of an hour through the rain this morning to get to work. Grrr - these tube drivers!! Don't think the exercise did me any harm, but was knackered when I got to work and my back hurt quite a bit. got to do it all over again and this evening and tomorrow.

Had a nice evening out with DH last night though. we realised that we've actually got a packed programme of social events throughout June and July, so not going to be putting my feet up much! Should make the time fly though.

One of my friends had her second little girl at the weekend. The baby was born on Saturday evening and my friend was able to go home on Saturday night. Think I'm going to need more recovery time than that!!

Littleblessing · 10/06/2009 13:35

Back from scan now, all was OK which is great. I think I want to know the sex (they have written it down for me and is in an envelope) but DH def doesn't want to know and he doesn't want me to know). Thing is I got quite depressed after having DS and we have a lot of financial pressure etc and DH is not very helpful around the house, plus we had a shock bereavement this year which has knocked us for six. So I feel like I want to get used to the fact if we are having another boy or a little girl - one less emotion to contend with after the birth. I would of course be happy either way but just feel like it's something I can sort of have contol of in my head.

Sorry for long post - hope it makes sense.

What do you think I should do?

Mossop · 10/06/2009 15:26

Hi everyone,
I hope you've room for one more. I've been following you all since the first thread, but have never posted anything before; I've decided it's about time I joined you!

I have a dd who is 2 and I'm now 21 weeks pregnant, due date is 21st October. I can't believe the time has gone so quickly already. Got my scan tomorrow morning!

LittleMissBliss · 10/06/2009 15:38

Welcome to the thread littleblessing!

I would look if it means so much to you, i had to find out this time (I also found out with ds) as i was really hoping for a little girl, as it turns out i am having another boy, so i was initially disappointed but had 20 weeks to get over the disappointment. Luckily it only lasted about 24 hours and now i am really looking forward to having two little lads. But i'm glad that i know now as would hate to feel the same disappointment when meeting my baby, if i wasn't aware of the sex.

Sorry to hear that you are having a stressful time of it at the moment. Pregnancy can be hard enough without the added stress that life throws at us.

This is all really confusing regarding the MATB1! i think i might just go and ask the DR. to fill it out for me as work are pressuring me for it. I can't understand why some of us have been given there's already and others being made to wait until the 28 week appointment.

I'm really exhausted at the moment fell asleep last night at 6 until 9 then got up to have some dinner then went back to sleep.
Today i walked with ds to the park and felt sick with tiredness.... which is unusual as it is a regular walk and i have never felt so exhausted before. I hope this horrible tiredness passes.

Congratulations on the scans and lovley to add another girl to our list!

SassJ · 10/06/2009 17:56

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Mossop and LittleBlessing. Good luck with your scan tomorrow Mossop. Sorry you're having a tough time LBlessing.

OK ladies, very important question now. Whose belly button has popped out? Anyone? Mine hasn't and it's bugging me - will it/won't it? I have a proper pregnant pod, but a normal-looking belly button. Most odd.

Off to start Hubby's dinner....(mine too, obviously)....

fidelma · 10/06/2009 18:38

Belly button out.

Welcome newbies.

Holiday cottage got 5 stars. worth all the hard work.Although I am hoping that she gives us 4(when she does all her paper work.and I said that I wouuld rather have 4) as I don't think I want the pressure of 5 stars.I would rather people thought that it was great and not nit picking(you know what I mean) We will be doing very good deals to get it up and running so if you do want a scottish holiday contact me and I will sort it out.

Off out for a girls night in with the skinny mimi friends.Oh well at least I have an excuse for a big helping!!!!

DevilsAdvocaat · 10/06/2009 18:40

hello!

ds knocked my laptop off of the sofa (where dh stupidly left it) and it's broken.

i am so detached from the world

have skim read the thread, only note to happytangerine (i think anyway) about blood pressure: don't worry about the first number it's the second one which shows whether your bp is high. when i was induced with ds my bp was consistently 140/100. it was something/70 usually.

lo is also moving non-stop and am starting to feel very tired again.

my belly button hasn't popped and didn't with ds and i had a huuuuge bump with him

not sure if i missed it but princessmel, have you spilled the beans on the sex yet?

HumphreysCorner · 10/06/2009 18:44

Hi all and welcome to Littleblessing and Mossop. Littleblessing, of course you need to open the envelope right now and share the news. Mossop*-good luck for your scan tomorrow.

Sass-my tummy button has never popped out so don't expect it will this time. Still waiting for the linea nigra line to appear and when do you normally start leaking milk? Never have before but thought I might this time having BF DD2.

lal-congrats on having a little girl.

Well, have bought this pram today from Mothercare. It is in the sale and I paid 10% deposit and have until the middle of August to pay for it. Hoping my grant will be through by then. Just need to work on DH to get the matching car seat even though we don't need one.

DH's B'Day today so am doing him some steak for tea (needed an advance on the mortgage to pay for it ) Used to cook this dish alot when we met but the steak was half the price then.

Hope all OK.

Oops don`t know what happened there.Stupid laptop

Mossop · 10/06/2009 19:35

Hello again, Thanks for the welcome.

My belly's only turned into a bump in the last week or so. Still got a tummy button, it didn't pop out last time, it just went flat. I didn't get the linea negra line either, but oddly enough I could see it after the birth!

Fidelma - congratulations on the 5 stars, where in Scotland it the cottage? We had 2 great holidays in Scotland pre DD but not trekked up there since.

LittleMissBliss · 10/06/2009 19:36

Lovely pram HC.

My belly button is still in. but more out than normal. Didn't pop out with ds.

aaaaaaaaaaah i am so bloody tired it's awful...just feel like my legs are dead, and i'm so snappy. When will this pass.

DP is doing the Asda shop and ds is being a little bugger, he's on a food strike, he will only eat cereal, rasins, goodies organix bars and fruit. He threw his potatoes and steamed veg at me earlier, and mashed up his sandwich at lunchtime. Not sure whether to keep making a variety of foods to have them rejected or to stick to what he likes.. i guess a non balanced diet is better than no food at all.... he used to be such a great eater he's just started playing up in the last few weeks. It's driving me insane, i've had to throw away so many meals and i'm fed up of clearing up upturned platefuls from the floor.

Yes when will princessmel spill! I think it's a girl.

HappyTangerine · 10/06/2009 20:26

Hello littleblessing and Mossop, welcome to the thread. Mossop, good luck for your scan tomorrow

Congrats on the scans and lal yay for another girl

littleblessing - steam the envelope open if you don't want your DH to know you've seen it. You know you want to

SassJ - belly button still firmly in!

DevilsAdvocaat - thanks for the BP info, that makes a lot of sense.

HC - ooh, I have pram envy now, it's gorgeous. Happy birthday to your DH. I haven't got a clue what sort of pram I'll be getting, it will need to be able to go over sand and rough terrain though!

Feeling much better here, have a bit of heartburn but how brilliant are Rennie?! Taking it v v easy this week as I've been so looking forward to this 2 week holiday and am determined to walk up Vesuvius next week.[determined pregnant woman icon]

MeHimCatBlob · 10/06/2009 20:28

Hi all and welcome Mossop and LB.

I'm worried now - what this about belly buttons popping?!!

I'm 20+3 now and still can't feel anything. I do have piles (so will try the vaseline remedy) and also have (apparently) postural hypotension, breathlessness and indegestion - all of which, the doc cheerfully informed me, would only get worse!

any rememdies for indegestion would be much appreciated - can't stand gaviscon, tried mint tea which is a bit hit and miss and also eating mint flavoured sweets (satisfies my sugar craving but not convinced on the anti-indegestion front!)

am trying to get through next 2.5 weeks to my scan and my wedding- after which i suppose i will have to think about the practicalities of what to buy (not helped by currently trying to sell 2 houses)- there is just soooo much to think about!

anyway, have a great day

princessmel · 10/06/2009 20:39

Hi all

Belly button is half in half out. The whole area is quite tender actually, I think it's stretching.

Welcome to the new posters very similar due dates to me (21/22 oct)

I haven't got piles thank goodness, I think I had them a few years ago but was never 100% sure. I never had them looked at.

When I was pg with ds I started leaking small amounts of milk at around 22 ish weeks. I'd see it on my nightie in the mornings. Can't remember with dd.
I fed her for 2.3 years though so I am expecting to leak soon. My breats are so heavy and I can feel lumps like broccoli floretts, like when I was full with milk whilst breast feeding.

littleblessing I think if you are worried that you might be unhappy about the sex , then it's a good idea to open the envelope. It will mean you have enough time to prepare. Even though I'm sure you'd be delighted with whatever you had at the birth.
I felt like this with dd and this one. I didn't find out with dd and was slightly worried I'd be sad if she was a boy. As it turned out she was a girl and I was overjoyed. But in the end, if she'd been a boy I am certain it wouldn't have mattered.

This time we know and I still haven't spilled the beans yet!!!

I have told immediate family and a few friends but that's it.

Not sure if any of my RL friends know my posting name.....

HumphreysCorner · 10/06/2009 20:52

So, are you going to tell us????????????????????????

Bella-my old M&P pram was used for both DD's and the break is broken and it is so heavy with it's seperate chassis with non swivel huge wheels. Couldn't possibly do the school run with that. Can use the carrycot bit of it so he can sleep downstairs in it like DD2 did. She also spent 6 months in it in our bedroom but have a swinging crib bought off my school mum friend. At least we don't have to heave it up and down stairs every day.

Oh, and my school mum friend gave me a HumphreysCorner outfit today. Her DS4 only wore it a couple of times. So excited about it.

Hi,

belly button is still a definite innie and I'm hoping it stays that way as DP is a bit freaked out by outies (strange man ). 24.5 weeks now - when do you think I can start to feel safe.

I'm holding off buying my pram until after 30 weeks even though I'd secretly quite like to go ahead and buy it now. A bit you found pram in sale, if I did I could rush out and buy it and it would be the sensible decision.

I have escaped piles so far but have had bad heartburn and, as I hate gaviscon, drinking loads of milk is the only thing that helps.

Had pregnancy yoga tonight - it was much more challenging this week. A bit worried some of the women who are 39 weeks are more flexible than me - maybe if I keep going that will be me .

Wasn't intending to buy the pram until my grant money was paid but feel better I have made the decision. I would have been panicking and probably would have bought the wrong one. At least I can pay bits off this to soften the blow. I also get £25 of vouchers to spend in Mothercare which could be used against a car seat. Thing is, after I ordered it mum and I spotted 3 round town so must be popular.

Just been out with the girls and am not ready to sleep.I have lots of energy at the moment.I will hit a wall any day now.
As we are aproaching 24 weeks our babies are very viable with special care not the best but at least we are getting there.

Mossop the holiday houses are in Perthshire.my-holidayscotland.comvery child friendly.my houses are the Furze and Hillfoots and I would do a discount.

I use rennies for heartburn nicer than gaviscon.

MrsKitty · 11/06/2009 06:57

Fidelma holiday cottages look beautiful - well done for all the hard work that must have gone into them! We're already going to Scotland this summer - Staying in Banchory as my Grandad lives in Aberdeen so we're going to visit him over the week (Grandma sadly died earlier this year - before I got a chance to tell her about the new baby ) We were going to fly up, then drive back in the hire car as it works out slightly cheaper than flying both ways, but decided yesterday that I couldn't cope with a 10-11 hour drive at 29 weeks pregnant with a 2 yr old in tow, so booked return flights too! (Still got a 2.5 hr drive to and from airport but that's rather more manageable I think...)

Belly button in, and was the whole time last time - just stretched out flatish, so will probably do the same this time.

mehimcatblob Don't worry about not feeling any movement yet (easier said than done!) - I'm 23.5 weeks and only really started to feel anything at the beginning of this week.

Welcome to littleblessing and mossop

Don't need to buy a new pushchair as our Loola didn't get much use with DS (he's pretty much refused the pushchair entirely from around 1 yr) - have a carrycot & carseat attachment for it too. Things I have bought though are a Hug-a-bub stretchy wrap sling and a bedside cot - both off Ebay so were quite bargain-ous. Am hoping the bedside cot will allow me to do night feeds without ever getting out of bed too much!

HumphreysCorner · 11/06/2009 10:15

Wow fidelma-those cottages are stunning. Must keep you very busy though. I would be paranoid about people not treating them very well.

I use Gaviscon liquid but mainly Gaviscon cool tablets and they are big so ease the acid. I find Rennies a tad small.

Hope all OK.
