Looks like you'll be the first to 'pop' bigcar - good luck with your induction!

You are all welcome to hire out my cat to sort out your mouse problems... she has a habit of keeping them alive though, which isn't fun when she brings a live one into the bedroom and just lets it go.....

Spent the day sorting out the garage. DH did 5 car loads to the tip, and will be doing another 5 tomorrow by the look of things! It's made such a difference though, so it's brilliant!

Poor effie - I hope all is okay.

Lots of cramps today, but then that's been happening for weeks so I don't think it means anything.....

Hope you are all well.... xx

Ok here goes - an attempt to comment on everything I've read (have made mini notes) I thought I should try and keep up with the rest of you at least once.

Bigcar - good luck for tomorrow's induction (I've a sneaking suspicion someone will get in ahead of you though - not sure who)

Insy - hope you've enjoyed your child free time (and cake) bet you can't wait for Friday and the house to be full of noise boys again

Bunny and all considering a cleaner I simply couldn't cope without mine. Got one when pg with dd as I felt so exhausted. Only problem is she is still coming whilst I'm on maternity leave and I feel a bit guilty being here whilst soemone else cleans our crappy house! We pay £20 for 2 hours (but she always stays longer I think) Daisy - hope you enjoy having someone else to clean the loos.

Snow - baby shower sounds fabulous

Doris - sorry you're not in labour - but you never know what might happen tonight (there is a race on with bigcar)

June - thanks for the effie update - send her our love. Am @ the tesco comment re twins - cheeky fecker

Loouise - yr babyfather can just shut up and put up - we get to name babies - afterall we have to push them out

Ineed - eeeeewww at your cat. I was very lucky with my cat it never brought anything home as it was too bloody lazy to go hunting.

Ermin - I'm right with you on the babies need exposure to germs thing. Not that I'll actively rub her in filth.

Hello to Naat/Choccie/LittleS/Laura/Tee - who else have I missed? Don't think I'm cut out for these detailed posts - brain is too pg!

Got a suggestion for you if you haven't seen it already. Graze.com I saw a thread on here about it. You can order little boxes of goodies delivered to your door - a day's worth of healthy munchies.I thought it was a good idea to try out because I could easily graze all day on rubbish when I'm bored. If anyone wants to try it the voucher code I have is HQ5YP7XB. You get yr first box for a £1 (I think they are normally £2.99) and you can cancel at any time. I got Japanese rice crackers, dried goji berries and fresh pineapple today (they must have known I wanted to give birth)

Had a totally productive day today, changed several beds and did all the washing, sorted the lo's nursery and built a chest of drawers (crippled with back pain now though) finally washed all the new baby clothes - forgot how tiny she's going to be.

Off for a rest now before cooking dh's dinner when he comes in and then settling down to watch the apprentice

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 27/05/2009 19:08

Who else is a football widow tonight? I'm snuggling up in front of The Apprentice too silk (think Naat's a fan too)... DH and his best mate are watching the football in the front room.

Had lots of pineapple and had sex last night, curry, pineapple and more sex tonight..... With the footie as well, DH loves this new routine!

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 27/05/2009 19:15

I too will be watching Apprentice tonight!

Naat · 27/05/2009 19:17

ineed yeah, a football widow here... But only one TV so mum and I are doomed to watch it

I'm recording the apprentice, though I guess I'll watch it later unless I feel sleepy early

I told DH that routine can begin once his mother has left Suddenly he wants it to be 7th June Up to then, 3ft away, mr!

silkcushion · 27/05/2009 19:24

Ineed - I'm impressed with your pineapple, curry and sex regime.

Poor dh told me this weekend that he thinks the lack of sex over recent months is adding to his increasing stress levels

He has started making more hopeful comments again in recent days (I think he had literally given up).

He said last night that not only could start labour off but the mw would be pleased as we could do it on all fours - he suggested I thought of it as optimal foetal positoning rather than a shag

I suppose we could fit in a quick one between dinner and the apprentice. I bet he'll be too tired when he gets in - bad day at the office apparently (and he left at 6am and won't be home for another 20 mins yet)

ermintrude13 · 27/05/2009 19:26

I love a big game of footie on the telly and DH is out with work tonight so he's v indeed. DC are watching Dr Who repeat on BBC3 then I'll get them into bed and sit down to watch. I don't even care who wins - a slight preference for Man Utd but if Ronaldo is as smarmy as usual I'll go all Basque

Ineed I'm not going to tell my DH about your nightly routine - I tell him that nobody's had sex for months on this thread . When we try to have a cuddle up in bed he says it's like 2 oatcakes trying to make a sandwich with a huge olive in the middle and any time I'm vaguely in the mood I just feel to large and lazy to tell him. Hope I feel like getting back down to it before too long...

I'm glad that only one of our cats is a hunter and she's only once brought something into the house - a bird - and that was when we were away. The neighbour who was feeding them has 3 hunting cats and - if you're feeling queasy look away NOW - one night she and her DH thought that one of their DC had left a soft toy at the bottom of the bed so they kicked it further down and went to sleep. In the morning they threw back the duvet to find their bare feet covered in sticky bits of the half-pigeon they'd been left as a gift .

Off to get into jim-jams and cosy up in front of the telly. Hope you all get some sleep or if not that it's because you're having babies . Bigcar everything crossed for a lovely day tomorrow.

June2009 · 27/05/2009 19:37

DH spent a good couple of hours this afternoon cementing the holes the mouse went through and the kitchen has been cleaned from top to bottom.
We were feeling very pleased with ourselves about all this when the little b**r showed up again!
DH saw the mouse go through the wet cement, can you beleive it!!!!!!!!!
So he's fixing it AGAIN now...I really don't feel like cooking anymore. or eating for that matter.

Gonna watch the apprentice too here
Debra was my least favorite last week.

have a good evening!

bigcar · 27/05/2009 20:03

Thanks for all your kind thoughts ladies Hopefully I won't be around tomorrow! So I hope to hear about babies popping all over the place when I get back

Thanks for the update on effie, hope all goes well for you effie

llynnnn · 27/05/2009 20:06

oh no June, sounds like that is one persistant mouse!!

ermintrude - yuck at the pigeon story!! that is really bad! i hate birds at the best of times!! ewww

Ineed - i wont be telling dh your nightly routine! i am just too massive, uncomfy and tired for any of that anymore!! although, if i go over my due date, i may be forced to reconsider!!

my dh HATES man u so much that he has gone to the cinema tonight!! i'm not complaining at all, will enjoy the peace and get to watch the apprentice!! I too dislike Debra!

very jealous of those with a cleaner!! sounds like bliss!! no chance here though, will have to put up with the mess unless we win the lottery etc!

Bigcar - all the very best for your induction tomorrow!!

Naat · 27/05/2009 20:06

bigcar ohhhhh so excited for you (again, I know, I'm being heavy ) Keep us posted, if you can, of course, and hope LO is in your arms soon!! (((hugs)))

lauraloo09 · 27/05/2009 20:15

bigcar sending lots of hugs and best wishes for tomorrow's induction hope it all goes well xxx

Tee2072 · 27/05/2009 20:16

Good luck tomorrow bigcar!!!

dreamydowler · 27/05/2009 20:18

Hi everyone
eeeekkk re the mice

Good luck for tomorrow Bigcar
Hope you dont have too long of a wait in hospital Effie
I had some very strong Braxton hicks for about 3 hours yesterday but all seems calm again today. Got my hospital bags packed though just in case. Its hard to believe that by this time next week we should be well on our way to lots of babies How exciting

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 27/05/2009 20:20

June - you've got to have a healthy respect for such an ingenious mouse. Can't believe s/he tunnelled through wet cement!

ermintrude - that is horrible! At least our cat just sticks to mice and small chicks... just wish she'd kill them first....

I also HATE Debra. Tonight's episode looks hilarious. James is my favourite (I know he's no chance of winning!) he comes out with such funny lines!

OP posts:
daisy5 · 27/05/2009 20:57

Unfortunately dinner just went down the toilet as feeling nauseous and all that vomiting has really wedged babies head into my pelvis, so feels a little odd!!

june - that's one determined mouse!!!!

You may not believe me but once upon a time I lived in a house and one night while watching Sex in the City this little mouse (tiny) wandered in from the kitchen, climbed up on to the arm of my landlord/friend's chair, crossed his paws and proceeded to watch tele with me .

He looked so cute and his gestures so gorgeous that I couldn't do a thing and didn't have the heart to tell my friend for a few days. Just a teeny tiny thing...so frail and cute.

All the best bigcar - but like silk I have this sneaking suspicion someone may pip you to the post.

ermintrude - love your oatcakes and olive sandwich. Much the same in our household and unless I am really in the mood for rejection, not much point making a pass. He even wants this baby to come early but just cannot bring himself to cope with the enormous bump.

My cleaner is £8 an hour and she was here for 2 hours today but probably for three hours the next few times. She was so sweet and insisted I tell her if anything needs to be done differently - so lovely she cares. LOL at whoever's cleaner talks to dh through the loo door!!!!!!!

Good night all.

MrsMcJnr · 27/05/2009 21:14

Hey girls lots of chat, I will try and catch up but in the meantime ? Bigcar thinking about you and sending loads of positive labour vibes, may it be exciting, short, as painless as can be and may you enjoy meeting your beautiful baby we can?t wait to hear your news

MrsMcJnr · 27/05/2009 22:21

Daisy ? LOL at the pineapples, mine went off will have to buy more! Very of your cleaner, I miss mine so much. How come when I agreed to stay home to look after DS I got a 2nd job along with that of being responsible for all things home related? Head Midwife is actually quite a sexy man shhhh! Don?t tell DH! Sorry to hear about the headache from your last post it sounds like things may well be kicking off with you?.

June ? that book was my bible in DS?s 1st year I now have the Toddler one and the Mumsnet book and they are both fab sorry to hear about your unwanted house guest! Thanks for updating us on Effie

Effie ? positive vibes hon hope you and the baby are thriving.

Tee ? sorry to hear about your aching, hope you have taken it easy today really? No sterilising bottles in the US? Gosh I am still sterilising bottles and teats for DS at 16 months just because they are such a breeding ground for bacteria and in my opinion that is very different from the germs he gets whilst out eating soil etc!

Doris ? exciting hon hope the pains have either gone or turned into something progressive! I am a tad worried that baby will choose tomorrow night to arrive and DH will never forgive her for missing the last episode of ER!

Naat my DH is out in the pub tonight watching football ? I have considered a false alarm just to get my own back on him your poor Mum with the temp change! Are you having fun with her? glad to hear that you have the MIL sorted! My Mum is back from traipsing round Spain and mighty glad that she hasn?t missed anything MIL is getting fed up now of waiting for the baby to arrive, I have told her that I don?t do well being ?vultured?

Ermintrude ? I know what you mean I really can?t see this baby arriving anytime soon. If I am honest with myself, I really am not having any unusual pains or anything. Ho hum! Re the hand washing, I was quite fastidious about it in the 1st 6 weeks. My DS was so sensitive to everything he even got a rash from the air. Plus it was winter and everyone seemed to have infections and I just couldn?t bear the idea of him catching anything. Certainly by 6 weeks I was a lot more relaxed and I can understand why at 4 months you raised an eyebrow! That woman actually sounded like a total nightmare, what a damn cheek about the book

Ineedmore ? ?A day spent trying to entertain a toddler when 9 months pregnant..... fun.....? I hear you sister what?s sex again?? Can you believe it, some perve wolf whistled me today! DH is shocked, charming!!

Littlesarah ? hope dinner went well good on your for getting that dress enjoy tomorrow?s pampering

Silkcushion ? how is the list looking now? Sounds like you got loads done today

Bigcar ? LOL about the Only Fools and Horses comment, I must tell DH hope they have room for you tomorrow

Insy ? hope you enjoyed having your friends round tonight

Bunnymother ? waxing? A treat? ouccch!!

Hey Laura ? hope you are feeling better

Hi Llynnnn how are you feeling?

Snowwombat ? hope you are taking it easy enjoy your last day of work baby shower sounded fab

Choccie ? hope you have a better night. I woke up crying due to a horrible dream at 4am

Looouise ? hope you are feeling a little less sick hon

Every night I go to bed thinking about what I would want to have got done if tonight turned out to be the night ? tonight the list is long

Tee2072 · 28/05/2009 02:11

Anyone else up? I'm having some pretty strong contraction like cramping, but its not consistent, so I don't think its actual labour.

Oh and some lovely heartburn along with it.

I'm only 36 weeks! Not yet baby!!

bunnymother · 28/05/2009 06:39

Morning ladies!

Tee - I am up. Have been tossing and turning (in a v slow and cumbersome way...) most of the night. How are you going?

Will post again in a little bit. This thread is getting v lively now - I was watching on and off yesterday in between admin [hates it] and waxing (glad that's done!) and housework [hates it]...

Have a stomach ache but that could be anything - am not expecting our LO till next week at the earliest (based on? Err gut feeling)

daisy5 · 28/05/2009 06:51

Morning all,

tee hope you managed to get back to sleep. Yup, it's that darn consistency that matters most!

Yesterday and today my cramping hasn't been so obvious but I did have it for about 8 days in a row.

Now my house is pretty spotless (although the windows upstaires could do with a clean), the fridge and freezer are full, all clothes washed and ironed, the baby's room finished and tidied, the most critical things done (except my photography final year assignment - I've been in too much pain to concentrate!!), so I've decided I'm ready enough for baby to come (my guess is tomorrow)......

.....and also my poor long suffering toddler deserves a fun day out. I have no family or long time friends up here so when I'm short of sleep and cranky, she doesn't get a very fun day. I am filled with guilt about how difficult the past 15 months have been on us both (pregnancy + previous miscarriage). I'm trying to decide what we will do....the park, maybe a picnic, the scooter, maybe the soft play place too....I'll take some books and read to her under the tree....a big ice cream somewhere along the way. Something like that anyway .

Then tomorrow morning I will go for a long walk, have a hot curry for lunch and see if anything happens!

mrsmcjnr - glad to hear your 'touring' mum is back. Nice to have your mum nearby. at MIL's strong willed nature when it comes to your baby's arrival. Could you tell her a little white lie that the midwives think it may be another fortnight before baby arrives [tee hee emoticon].

I'm just waking and bit headachy this morning so shall stop there and come back later. Thinking of you bigcar. I have my 39 week appt this morning and my little vial of wee waiting on the stairs.

daisy5 · 28/05/2009 06:53

Hi bunny - cross thread. How are you honey?

Oh how I miss a whole nights sleep already and I haven't had the baby yet!

bunnymother · 28/05/2009 07:01

Hi Daisy - am all good here. Bit tired and uncomfortable this morning, but hanging my hopes for energy on a nice cuppa tea. Ooh, your lucky little DD - she is going to love the day you have planned!!

daisy5 · 28/05/2009 07:03

I hope so, we didn't have a good day yesterday and she told me last night that 'she didn't want to talk to me', and I just felt so awful. She has never said anything like that ever.

Enjoy your cuppa.

silkcushion · 28/05/2009 07:09

reporting for duty on the 'I still haven't had a baby thread'

Bunny and Tee - sorry about yr rubbish night's sleep. Hope you can both rest today. I was up for 2 hours with a screamy teethy toddler she's snoring away now

Daisy - I knwo what you mean about feeling guilty. Sounds like you and dd have a lovely day planned (you'll probably go into labour instead!) Dd has been in nursery all week - she has to keep going through my 4 month maternity leave or we would lose her place. But everyday I think I should take her in really late or pick her up really early and do some fun stuff. Will do that this afternoon and tomorrow I think.

Hope you all have restful days (or babies) check back later
