silk and doris - have added you both as Mumsnet Mates so you should be able to see it now. Not that it's amazing or anything, I just thought that as I had it, I may as well share it.

doris - your dd's comments are gorgeous.

naat - you can always crop yours a little and then post it up. Would be lovely to see but only if you are comfortable with it. My cousin had some wonderful ones taken by her husband, and very intimate as it was her husband taking them. I am actually glad now that I had that photo taken. Wish I had made more effort, it was a last minute 'thing'.

tee - really sorry to hear about your (incredibly) disappointing send-off. Some companies are just like that aren't they. Well, you get 9 months away, as you say, and then it sounds like you may look for something in a more friendly company? The great thing is that by next week you can completely forget about them, and ignore all phone calls with work questions, they clearly do not deserve any help.

Talking of good presents - it has just occurred to me that Fathers Day is 21st June so I might be sneaky and try and buy something beforehand, just in case. bunny - glad you liked the book.

silkcushion · 14/05/2009 22:54

fab pic Daisy

MrsM - so glad to hear you and dh had a snuggle

I am quite pleased with myself today - managed to pass a financial services exam which I was dreading. Honestly couldn't be sure whether I would remember anything with this silly pg brain. Only problem was desperately needing a wee one hour into the two hour exam (weren't allowed to leave the room). Luckily I finished early - should have thought ahead and worn the tena ladies

ermintrude13 · 15/05/2009 08:42

Morning all

Lovely pic Daisy - another neat bump. I weighed myself yesterday and have put on just under 10kg which is pretty good, so I think my bump looks enormous on me just because I'm 5'4" and very short-waisted.

Well done on passing the exame silk - don't know if my brain could cope with anything so taxing right now.

doris I have nearly packed my hospital bag but because I'm still hoping for HB my heart hasn't been in it. But I really should get round to it, just in case. MW appt on Mon when I'll be nearly 36 wks, so hoping the LO will have gone head down like a good baby...

Hello to everyone else. Must take DS to school...

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 15/05/2009 08:58

Morning all!

Bloody hell... no chance of catching up. You lot have been chatting away like mad!

All good here in the chocolate household. I'm 37 weeks today so HOORAY!! DS was born at 37 weeks so I'm as ready as I'll ever be.... I'm certainly a lot more ready than I was first time round. People keep asking us over and inviting us to things and I've told DH that I'm not leaving Guildford! DH has a footie match after work tonight and I've told him to have someone hold his mobile in case I need to read him in that 90 mins! He's a bit lackadaisical in terms of having his phone on him. His AS and A2 Law groups remind him every time he teaches them that he needs it on and in his pocket! They're so sweet! Luckily he's on duty today so will have his walkie-talkie on him all day so at worst I can ring reception and they'll radio to him that he needs to come home (however the whole school will hear too!)

Still trying to get lots of little jobs done round the house in preparation. Really want to plant up my containers on the patio but the thought of navigating my whale-like, SPD-ridden physique round the garden centre makes me tired to even think of.... maybe we'll go on Sunday (even tho the weather is supposed to be pants....)

Anyway. Have a great day Juners.... xx

Naat · 15/05/2009 09:35

Morning Juners,

ineed I saw you in the "traumas" thread, my God some are funny!!! Poor you on the squirrel episode!! And your DH's one!!! Don't worry about the garden now, you're about to pop, if things go like last time And no, leaving town is not a good idea

tee that was not very nice of them, was it? It's their loss, not yours, lady. As daisy said, you have months ahead without them and probably a chance in the meantime to get something better. Enjoy your freedom!!!

Hi ermin! Glad you have your bag almost ready just in case

Silk well done you! But poor you having to go to the loo in the middle of the exam! Luckily you finished early

daisy you still have some weeks, get some pics!! Esp. as you have all the equipment at hand

hi bunny I hate doing the vacuum as well, and these days it's even harder, isn't it? Glad to hear your appt went well

doris you made me laugh so hard yesterday with your "headless chicken" part DH just looked at me in awe Well done you on packing your bag!!! Your DD sounds lovely helping you and asking you all sorts of questions

Not a good night for me here, went to bed early only to be able to fall asleep at 12! Then slept until 4am and I was up until 6! LO moving all the time, not happy with my positions... I'm not grumpy but all groggy now...

Oh, and suddenly I'm hungry all the time, after telling you last week my appetite was not good Anyone else feeling the same these days?

Have a lovely day Juners, despite the rainy weather!

chocciedooby · 15/05/2009 09:59

Hi Juners

Daisy I can't see your pic

Naat would you believe that I completely forgot to ask OB about the itchiness. . It seems to be quite common on this thread though to have the odd itching. I have not been itching all over. Mainly my tummy and sometimes my arms and legs. Was only tummy yesterday.

Tee that is so mean of your collegues. Not even a card! I hope you don't ever have to go back there and that something better turns up when you are ready to return to work.

chocciedooby · 15/05/2009 10:03

Well done Silk with passing the exam.

Nearly there ineed

Naat sorry to hear you didn't get a great nights sleep. I seem to be doing the same lately. I gfo to bed early but don't really drop off to sleep for quite some time. I keep trying to fall asleep before dh comes upstairs and turns into the "Snoring Beast" .

Have to get going now as need to return kids books to the local library whilst they are at school. They just won't let go of them and have had them for weeks and weeks now. Will bring them to a better library soon and get lots of nice new shiny books to keep them occupied

Still raining here.....

June2009 · 15/05/2009 11:21

Heya! Still not managed to catch up with you guys... I hope everyone is ok and getting ready :D

I've read some people have been getting itchy and my belly's been a little itchy too, nothing tooo bad though.

Some Juners have also mentionned period like cramps and I did get some mild ones a couple of weeks ago but yesterday evening all of a sudden I got very tired, light headed/dizzy and I had to lie down for just over 2 hours until I got better.
Baby was very active and the upper part of my belly was moving a lot.
The lower part of my belly was feeling very crampy, feeling nauseous as well and like I might need to run to the loo. I was getting braxton hicks (not regular and not in synch with the cramps)
I didn't really think it could be labour but I couldn't rule it out completely which was a bit worrying.
Am "only" 36+4, not ready yet!!!.

I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow to check blood pressure and I'll mention my little episode to her and see waht she thinks.

Just wondering if that's what you have been experiencing as well?

Tee your post reminded me of when I left the cafe I used to manage, no-one (out of around 15 employees) gave me card, good luck about moving to london or a bunch of flowers, nothing! (and I was liked, we always used to socialise out together etc).
Try and not take it personally, some people just don't have a clue and/or no manners!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 15/05/2009 11:36

June - I've literally just had that same thing happen. I was pruning in the garden (seriously not hard work) and I came over all light headed and feeling bone-tired. I had to bring DS in and eat 2 pieces of toast, and apple, a pear and a bowl of muesli! (I had eaten breakfast this morning too!) I feel slightly better now but still really tired. Horrible!

Naat - that thread is hilarious! I'm with you on the sleep. It's been terrible the last couple of nights.

Tee - Sorry to hear that your work have underwhelmed you with their goodbye... bastards!

OP posts:
LittleSarah · 15/05/2009 11:55

June - I think that's just one of these pregnancy things, but always a bit worrying when these things happen. Yesterday I had a similar incident to the ladies with the excess vaginal discharge and suddenly thinking waters breaking...? Of course was hardly anything but for a second...

Silk - Well done on exam!

Okay, that is all I can manage catch up with, I need to make soup as friend is coming for lunch.

Just wanted to say saw midwife this morning and am measuring small (bump doesn't seem to have grown in past few weeks) so off to hospital for scan this afternoon! Not really worried or surprised, had two late growth scans last time, but well, we'll see! Scan is at 3.35pm so will let you know how it went this evening.

All fine apart from that, very chatty midwife, just a real talker, you seems to keep going and laughing and not saying much. At the end when she was leaving dd suddenly went 'you're a chatterbox'...eeeek!

loooouise · 15/05/2009 12:15

Choccie and June I'm with you on the itching and the mild period pain. I find it incredibly hard to settle at night with itchy belly and restless legs! I find bio oil helps with the itchiness though - don't know if that's any help.

Tee what a bunch of arses. I can understand why you're hurt.

LittleS good luck with growth scan.

Choccie I have thrown my copy of Gina Ford away. It's useful in some ways but a bit too fascist for me and v poorly written.

I am taking my little brother for his round two RADA audition now, hope I don't faint while he's in there or go into labour, they might think I'm an aspiring actress with a cushion up my dress

chocciedooby · 15/05/2009 12:43

LOL Loooouise re: GF Book. Lots of that book actually scared me.

Can I just say to any ladies thinking of tidying their own "Ladygarden", be very careful......

After yesterdays episode at the OBs and having my swab taken slightly by surprise and not being prepared I decided to invest in some Veet and give it a try. So I started on a misson (no I am not like a gorilla down there or anything but it needs some attention). I took the small scissors from my manicure set to do a little trim but actually cut my fanjo and made myself bleed! . So the scissors got put away and I did a bit of shaving as I normally would. Then studpidly I resorted to "Veet" as I was finding it hard to see the bits and pieces I needed to. The stinging began (I did read the instructions but stupidly went ahead after shaving anyway). Into the shower I wernt to try and scrub it off. All that came off was the Veet, not the hair! How frustrating. Now I am red raw and still need to get things sorted. Looks like dh is going to be recruited some day soon .

Naat · 15/05/2009 12:49

Oh my Choccie! Be careful! We're to big and wobbly to do those things on our own I know it's a bit but we'd better ask DHs to do the job.

Are you OK now? Are you sore?

Oh, the same parts itch here (legs, arms and bump), not all the time so I'm not worrying too much.

Naat · 15/05/2009 12:52

loouise good luck to your bro in the audition! (what is RADA, though?

littleS your DD is lovely! I'd have laughed so hard! Good luck on the scan, I'm sure everything will be fine. Hope today is not too hectic for you.

ineed yep, awful sleep! I had to take a nap from 11 to 12 as I was too groggy

june same symptoms here on and off... is it because we're getting near???

(((waves)))

loooouise · 15/05/2009 13:21

Choccie Owwwwwwwwwwwww! I was tempted to have a go on my own but you have definitely put me off. Will book in next week.

Naat It's the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art - he wants to be an actor, I'm so proud of him!!!

Itch, itch, itch, itch, itch

Naat · 15/05/2009 13:24

Ohhhhhhhhhhh! Good luck to him!!! Let us know how it went

daisy5 · 15/05/2009 13:31

Oh, you've just reminded me that last night I dreamt I had pubic hair all the way down to my knees!!!!

I am booking in for a hot wax soon. It is so much less painful that the other kind of waxing. Waxing doesn't bring on labour I hope...

Effielou · 15/05/2009 15:23

Hi ALL

Well date and sterilisation booked for.............. 9th June............YIPPEE- that makes me 37+2 weeks was hoping for a bit sooner ( so was DH) but my surgeon wanted to wait til the babys lungs are stronger.

Good news about that not for DH is that his parents are in Portugal-- Well they knew I would be due around then- and we don't count!! But for my Mum ( she has Bipolar Disorder) It will make it less stressful for her- so hopefully we will not have the same hysterics we had last time ( she took an overdose 3 days after DS was born)I feel bad for DH as he would love his parents to be there on Squiggles first day.

I had a scan, as they wanted to check around scar all looks good. We got to see baby and he/she looks just like Imogen- with hair so instead of giving birth to a baked bean ( both looked liked BB when they were born infact we should have called Flynn, Heniz. It open its mouth and had a wiggle then she measured the baby-- thank good for c-sections its already measuring 2.88kg about 6.1lbs-- thats ( according to my pregancy bible) is more of a 36weeker than a nearly 34weeker!!!

So a good day had by all. Flynn behaved really well as well.

As for my ladygarden-- DH trimmed the bush this morning, as I could not get there!!! As hes been "starved" of "you know what" it was very hard for him, but managed really well!

Hope you are all well I did have a quick scan through your posts but baby brain has erased already!!

Naat thanks for message on FB xxx much appreicated xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Effielou · 15/05/2009 15:36

I was meant to put after the baked bean bit- that if its a readhead-again the it will be an orangutan. Aparently if you have heartburn, your baby will be born with lots of hair!!!

Tee2072 · 15/05/2009 15:54

Afternoon all.

The last thing I am worried about right now is how hairy I am locally, so to speak. Not even on my radar!

I am booking myself in for a leg wax, pedi, mani and eyebrow waxing next week, however!

Of course I don't keep myself all that trim down there anyway. Don't really see the point.

effie wow, a date! Cool!! You may be the first to go (unless I've missed someone else with a scheduled date!).

loooousie good luck to your brother!

littles waiting impatiently for your scan results.

Lovely picture daisy. silk congrats on your exam.

And hi to everyone else!

LittleSarah · 15/05/2009 16:43

Well had scan and no word on weight (boo), was all very quick and breezy, but all average measurements so all good! Have looked up measurements on line and it seems baby could possibly weigh about 6.2Ib but obviously that is very much a guesstimate.

Looouise - Good luck to your brother, very exciting!

Effie - Great to finally have your date, wish I knew when mine was coming ...

Naat - Got to love the innocence of children. I remember I saw this woman with a full beard in waiting room one day and I just thought oh god, dd better not say anything... and she didn't! Then on same day we were served by hugely hugely overweight man and she said (luckily out of earshot), he has been eating lots for lunch, he has a very big belly, and then, oh dear, he can't walk very well can he?

Tee and Daisy - Well done on the waxing (when you do it), I'm afraid I can't stand that type of pain and have never done it! All shaving/hair removal cream here. I have trimmed down below but that will be it!

chocciedooby · 15/05/2009 18:13

Oh ladies let me tell you.....don't do what I did. I am having to pour warm water from a jog on my "bits" when I pee as it is burning. The Veet burnt my very precious and highly sensitive right now centre piece . Sorry I just can't bring myself to say the word itself.Silly Me.

I so wish I had booked myself in somewhere but to be honest I am quite shy about things like that. I know....I've had 2 babies and lost all dignity before but waxing just seems different somehow. I suppose its because beauticians don't get to see pregnant bits every day iukwim.

Tee sounds like you have the best idea. Get booked in for everything.

I have booked a luxury pedicure for next wed morning and am getting my hair cut and coloured on Monday morning. I won't have my mornings to myself for these luxuries for much longer now so making the most of it.

I can manage my legs myself no problem but what will I do about the lady garden???? Have to see if I can pluck up the courage once I have healed .

Naat · 15/05/2009 18:22

Ouch! Oh choccie I hope you feel better soon, hon. I, like littleS, cannot handle wax... I had it done once and almost died, besides it brought up an odd rash and then I got some ingrowing going on

Please please please ask DH to "trim" it, there's nothing wrong about that and it's certainly less than at the beautician's

Great to hear you're booked for some pampering next week, though!!!

Off for our last AN class at the BC soon. I'll catch up later tonight

(((waves)))

ermintrude13 · 15/05/2009 19:34

Loving all these bush-trimming conversations . What are we like, worrying about the cosmetic perfection of our nether regions when no midwives or doctors will give a damn! To get to mine DH would have to lift my bump off it first - which reminds me, unpleasantly, of that story about the stage manager bursting in on Pavarotti in his dressing room and finding two ladies attending to him, one doing the actual blowjob, the other holding his belly out of the way.

Sorry for the pictures in your minds...

Gosh, I am so bored of being a heffalump, it's really getting to me now, can you tell?

Effielou · 15/05/2009 20:15

Thanks ermin hehehee!!!
choccie ouccccchhhhhh!!!!!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend xxxx
