We haven't told anyone, except a really good friend who guessed! But I've told her to keep quiet.

We've been surounded by quite a few friends who are not having a lot of luck on the pregnancy/fertility front at the moment, so I guess I'm more aware than most at the moment, that it doesn't always turn out ok. I think we're going to wait until the 12 week scan and then tell everyone.

On a different note, is anyone doing yoga? My accupuncturist advised me to stop yoga until the 12 weeks, just wondered whether anyone else had had the same advice?

bluespix77 · 22/05/2009 13:56

Also meant to say that I'm taking the Zita West 'Premium Nutrition for Weeks 0-12 of Pregnacy' which you can buy online from her website or from shops such as Whole Foods. So far so good and there are no nasty after tastes, infact I just stuck my nose in the jar and they barely smell of anything.

anniemac - I think the advice is that if you already excercise then keep doing some, maybe not vigourously, but it's ok to continue. However if you don't normally excercise then don't start suddenly doing it.

I cycled to work for the first time in ages during my TWW but have decided that because I wasn't doing it regularly it's probably best not to start doing it every day now. Am going to wait a bit then work my way back into it slowly.

Am also going to start doing some swimming.

bluespix77 · 22/05/2009 15:57

thanks for feedback, yoga teacher has emailed me a letter which he has asked me to sign, it basically says:

''I should advise you that during the first three months of pregnancy the placenta is not fully embedded in the womb lining and there is a minimal risk of it becoming dislodged, causing a miscarriage. This could happen running to catch a bus, gardening, unloading a washing machine and in countless other situations where you are moving your body, bending, or exerting yourself. It could also happen, but is no more likely to do so than in any of the above situations, whilst practising yoga postures.
It is important for you to recognise that it would be unwise ever to strain with any exercise or task, including yoga. My advice therefore is that it is fine to continue with your yoga practice and coming to my classes, but I would ask you to practise with particular sensitivity and never to strain or force anything and also to avoid sudden movements. For this latter reason would you kindly refrain from practising the Sun Salutation which is the only sequence in which we do make relatively quick movements.''

hi starshaker - not sure horseriding is such a good plan TBH.

Hi all
I am expecting, poss Jan 23rd although not had that confirmed by the GP yet, I have a dd 3y4m.

really excited to be pregnant again! I love my new big boobs but not being nauseated by the smell of bread

MrsMc82 · 23/05/2009 09:31

Hi all, would love to join you too. Got my BFP a week ago and its just about sinking in now, been to Drs yesterday and got apt with midwife on Weds. Am just over 5 weeks and will be due on 21st Jan. Am really excited but trying not to be so giddy as its so early.....

This is my first pregnancy so spending most my time worrying that something'll go wrong and worrying that every twinge I feel is something bad happening but thats fairly normal the be thinking like that - right? Suddenly feel very responsible for keeping this tiny little thing safe and well

Got plenty of symptoms, am really tired, been throwing up all week and boobs are getting really sore too.... that said still not convinced its real despite the 8/9 hpt I've done!!!!! (don't worry not spent a fotune most have been cheapy ebay ones)

Hi Anniemac Think have spoken to you before on the ttc boards hi agian! Re exercise my GP told me yesterday to not take up anything new but just do what I normally do - I'm fairly inactive but do lots of walking with our dog and fairly often do 6 or so miles at the weekends but wanted to check with him that I'm ok to do a 10 mile walk that i've signed up for in 4 weeks - he said thats fine as i'm a frequent walker but I'm I wanted to start going running for example he might not reccomend that..... hope that helps

xxx

valbona · 23/05/2009 13:44

hello, can I join too please? very excited - baby no 1 due on jan 17-ish. DH and I were about to start TTC and were waiting grumpily for AF to turn up. finally realised there could be a Another Reason why I was 10 days overdue (doh) - we are travelling so thought maybe that had thrown things off kilter. but got a BFP on the test I had optimistically packed ...

can wise people out there reassure me that it's ok to stay away for a few more weeks as planned so long as I take it easy and eat my folic acid? I feel fine, killer hungry and just had to buy some dodgy D-cup bras ...

congrats to everyone else too!

Am now 6 weeks. Still no morning sickness though. Also no ravenous hunger or extreme tiredness. Maybe I am a freak?!

alfiesmadmother · 23/05/2009 19:36

anniemac, I am continuing running until it feels to difficult, and feeling optimistic!! I run already. We can be virtual running buddies!

But today three words for me...at 6 weeks

trousers
tight
owwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ClaireDB · 23/05/2009 19:40

Can I join the club? Due around 1st Jan. It's my first one and a complete surprise! A very nice surprise though.

I'm feeling really emotional, which is a little unnerving as I am a complete tomboy and work in a male dominated career.

Congrats to everyone and glad to know I'm not the only one worrying like mad cos it's so early...

coffeeicecream · 23/05/2009 20:03

can i join in the virtual joggers. I stopped last week as got v nervous but am planning on starting on Mon calmly. I find it v relaxing and my dr said with my first prg to keep doing what you normally do.
Good Luck to everyone as it is a nervy period at the moment.

sazlocks · 24/05/2009 05:58

congrats to all the new BFPS
anyone else finding that they are early morning waking ? I keep waking up at 5 am every morning and I can't get back to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzyawn

other than that, apart from killer nausea every now and then, I feel good.

beanieb · 24/05/2009 08:18

yes sazlocks, I am! I wake up at 5.15 every morning and it's not always because I have a full bladder. Trouble is I've not really been hit by the extreme tiredness everyone talks about so I am also often up until midnight too!

Having said that I was shocked when I managed to stay in bed and asleep until 7.30 am yesterday!

Still no sickness though.

MrsMc82 · 24/05/2009 09:09

Morning sazlocks and beanie! I'm the same keep waking up at 5 too and usually because i'm STARVING!!! Finding the whole thing v strange - in a good way of course!

beanieb · 24/05/2009 09:25

It's scary and weird being pregnant for the first time! I have a friend who is pregnant (20 weeks) with her first but she's so far ahead of me that she is experiencing different things.

My other best friend has 3 kids but the oldest is 13 and the youngest 4 so she's dealing with a whole different set of parenting issues while I am just starting out.

I have 12 days until my scan and am planning on telling my work mate that I have a scan 'because of the clomid' which I think will put her off the scent. She knows that I was put on clomid and hopefully will just think they are checking for cists/amount of eggs.

I might tell her when I get back though. I will be 8 weeks and we have a fair bit of lifting coming up in work which I need to get out of.

skidoodle · 24/05/2009 09:36

Hi everyone

No early waking here other than having to get up by 7ish to bf dd but I'm used to that by now.

Extreme tiredness has hit this weekend but still only negligible nausea tg.

Top tip for not getting sprung at weddings - just don't mention that you're not drinking. If you just act normally but don't actually drink any booze nobody will notice. Worked a treat for me on Friday
