Morning- I also feel tired all the time now even when I've woken up. I'm not sleeping too badly asleep by about 11 awake by about 6.30 with 4 or so loo visits in the night but straight back to sleep.

Chocobunnies- Haven't heard from you in a while hope your ok.

Emmalina- Haven't heard from you either. Can you make it tomorrow

llare-That sounds very promising to me!! Hope its all going ok.

SpangleMaker · 16/04/2009 09:28

Ooh llare that sounds very promising. Good luck!

Reminds me, I'm definitely going to write H's birth story before I forget it all. Some reassurance for other first timers: 48 hours post delivery I couldn't remember the pain at all.

Fi yes, we're both still in awe of little H I keep looking at little things like the veins on his forehead & thinking, wow, you're a whole person and we made you! It really does make everything worthwhile

LoobyLou36 · 16/04/2009 09:30

llare good luck today

running monkey sorry u haven't got your parentcraft class. If its any consolation our was a complete waste of time anyway - just skirted vaguelly round pain relief etc. and got to poke our heads round one of the labour suite doors-couldn't tell you where it was tho.
she did give me a leaflet about induction method and told me that it would be more painful than a natural one and I'd probably need lots of pain relief! - thanks for that

Got an appointment at the hospital with the diabetic consultant, specialist and mw this afternoon, hope they can tell me the position of the baby - last time I went it was head down so fingers crossed.

LoobyLou36 · 16/04/2009 09:36

lare could be next!

spangle bless! H sounds wonderful.

Looking forward to meeting my LO (or not so little ) just wish it could happen naturally

minimenace · 16/04/2009 09:42

goodluck llare we'll all be waiting for your news.

Seem there are lots of May birthdays on this thread.
Mine is on the 18th - I'm due on the 12th and my mums is on the 13th - I think she is secretly hoping to share her bday with the latest grandchild.

Momino · 16/04/2009 09:43

Reebee, from my earlier post re: lamb, I meant you instead of reggiee. getting my 'r's mixed up!

Momino · 16/04/2009 09:53

looby, try not to worry too much about induction. tbh, my induction with DD1 was a more positive experience than my natural birthpool one with dd2 (i know all births are different).

i'm determined that this 3rd birth will be better and am sure it's all about relaxing. i'm sure you know all this: remember to use your breathing, concentrate on relaxing, every contraction brings you closer to baby, be honest with your DP/MW/team about what you need... try not to be anxious, etc etc. i hope i can heed my own words!

now, need to order some TENS pads...

LoobyLou36 · 16/04/2009 09:55

right then:
green notes - check
wee sample - check
insulin - check
diabetes record book - check
blood test kit - check

and most importantly:
credit card - check

I'm off to town, lunch with friend then hospital appointment.

catch up with you all later.

pulapula · 16/04/2009 10:04

Llareggub- ooh good luck at the hospital today.

runningmonkey- my NHS class didn't teach me anything i didn't already know as I'd already read some books and stuff, so don't think you will have missed much, so don't worry. My NCT classes were more useful, but cost a lot of money! I know people who've not had any classes and coped better than i did with labour! As for the tour- worth going along tonight- can't see why an extra 2 is so bad and i'm sure someone wont turn up! I was with my MW when I had my first LO, as she told us the wrong time for the tour- we got there "early" and wondered where everyone else was - they were already on the tour grrrrr. Luckily we got to see the delivery room quickly but that was it!

runningmonkey · 16/04/2009 10:14

Thanks pula and looby I feel reassured. We didn't do NCT as we couldn't afford it with moving house and all the other stuff we needed so I think that's why I'm a bit annoyed. Am going to make sure we're first there tonight so we def don't miss it! As I said I just feel a bit bad for DH as he was actually looking forward to it!

looby hope appt goes ok and have a nice lunch.

I've also been wondering about chocbunnies as well, hope she is ok.

pulapula · 16/04/2009 10:18

looby- don't be too upset about not having a "natural" labour - it's a decision which has been taken out of your hands, and it's for the best for baby (and you) I'm sure.

Soon you will find that having kids means you will put their needs before your own for quite some time to come lol! Enjoy these last few days (sounds like you are having a great time out and about) and I can't wait to hear your news either via FB or MN.

daizydoo · 16/04/2009 10:19

Well it's all happening isn't it! Llare - all the best! Very exciting...

I'm feeling very sorry for myself, I've been off work for the last 2 days as I've had the runs and generally feel sick. Just hoping I haven't caught the bug that's going round. To top it all off I have a Cough and cold. Dh was moaning that I was snoring last night, but the way I look at it at least I got some sleep!! My sympathies are with all those who are ill or suffering from sleeplessness.

Can't type much more as my head is really fuzzy, but think that the dates are out on the new list. I think I'm 36 and 1, but my brain is so mushy I can't think it through properly. Somehow I have to make the house look presentable before my friend arrives tomorrow!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 16/04/2009 11:18

Morning all!

I haven't posted for a few days, I too have been utterly sleepless so have felt lousy for past few days. I have SPD pain as well as appalling back pain, restless legs and leg cramps in bed. This is compounded by random 3am wakings followed by a good 2 hours of pre-dawn frettings (you know how everything is so much worse late at night/early hours of the morning!). Luckily, DH gets up first and makes me a drink so I can run through my stretching/pelvic exercises before I get up.

Llare oooh keep us posted if you can, hope you are ok!!!!!

DD1 is still in bed , it is her birthday tomorrow (she will be 11) so we will be making cakes today. DD2 has gone to Whitby for the day with her morning nursery.

LO has developed irritating routine - wakes up at 21.30/22.00 and kicks, punches, karate chops, rolls etc for a couple of hours, just when I'm desperate for sleep.

Dandy chicken pox grrrr. Poor DD2 had it last year, she was COVERED - in her mouth, her ears, bum, 'front bum' as she has it. The poor thing.

Aha! I think I hear the beast awake in it's pit upstairs. Honestly, you'd think DD1 was 15, not 10.........

Dandy & Grumpy nice to 'see' you, I was wondering where you'd got to. Chocbunnies too, hope she's ok.

Right, really should go and have a shower while H is asleep - missed my chance this morning while DH was here & feeling a bit of a slob

SpangleMaker · 16/04/2009 11:41

Oh re active LOs - don't want to worry you (and I don't know if there's a correllation anyway) but H is certainly showing the same patterns of activity he did in the womb. Busiest times are 8-10pm and 5-6am when he's wide awake. Evening one is good as DH can play with him but I wish he coule put back the morning session by a couple of hours!

pulapula · 16/04/2009 11:48

Spangle- i haven't showered yet either, and I don't have a newborn to look after . DD, DS and I are all still in our PJs [double ] as I am feeling very tired and lethargic. Luckily they are too so have just been watching cbeebies and playing in the lounge.

Might take them out for tea tonight, just so i feel we've been out- weather is too miserable for the park and play centres/shops will be a nightmare with it being easter hols.

Blottedcopybook · 16/04/2009 11:53

Llare Good luck! And re: being induced, I do understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea but I had a really positive experience of being induced with DD. I hope it doesn't come to that with you though - sounds like things are already happening for you!

Fi You're a wee gem, thank you!

Belgian Strongest thing my GP would prescribe was 30/500 co-codamol which I'm not keen to take at this stage because of the potential damage to the baby's lungs so I'm taking that at teatime to give me the patience to make it to bedtime! I'm going to collect a tens machine today which should help but baths are not helping me in the slightest - I'm so tall that I have to fold my legs in the bath and that makes my hips sore. Showers help, but I can't stand for long before feeling dizzy. I am just a wreck

Gert2a Aww honey, fingers crossed that your LO turns before the date but if not then best of luck for your date.

ladyhelenatealltheeggs · 16/04/2009 12:46

llare hope all ok with you. It would be lovely if this all kicked off naturally for you.

dandy re chicken pox. We've got friends coming for lunch on Sunday and they called yesterday to say their LO has it. I'm assuming that he is spotty at the moment and have said no need to cancel. My DS has had it,as have me and DH but as I'm 38 weeks on Sunday I thought it wouldn't be a problem. Should I cancel? Isn't the contagious period the bit before the spots come out? It never occurred to me about the baby getting it!!

Gert2a · 16/04/2009 12:46

Just to let you know that M&S have packs of 5 knickers for £6 on buy one get one half price! Am now big knicker owner!

chocolatebunnies · 16/04/2009 12:58

HI EVERYONE

I didnt realise we'd moved to a new thread

Those that were worried, thankyou for your concern, Im fine and dandy

Have been rather busy the last few days, wedding planning etc.

So much to catch up on, hope everyone is ok, hugs to all of you.

I had apptment with Midwife this morning, got my HiPG Form, Hoorah! Im am 35 weeks and measuring 31cms, so I've gone from being above the top line last two measurements to just under the bottom line today??! Midwife said I was too small in a jokey way, but is not concerned at all and is convinced this baby will be average, no huge as I had first thought! I also have ++kerotonesn in my wee so have been told I need to eat more, cant complian about that!

Everything seems to be going well at the moment, am getting quite uncomfortable in the evenings now and sleeping is difficult too, however I havent had to get up for toilet at all the last 3 nights! I know, Im a b*h!

We discussed birth plan etc and apparently they dont use pethidine anymore, they use diamorphine, any ideas what this is???

Still need to pack hospital bag, DP keeps on that I still havent done it, arghhhhhh i dont want tooooooo!

Will try and catch up, is difficult to get on here all the time now as Madi is giving up hr naps so I dont get any peace, but if anyne would like my mobile number to keep in contact via text, Im more than happy to let you hav it!

Big hugs from me & kicks from Bump!

Belgianchocolates · 16/04/2009 13:06

Hi everyone,

Just a quick one and it'll be the last one for I don't know how many days, unless they've installed the internet in hospital since last time I was there, but I doubt it

Scan was excellent from growth point of view 3.760kg at 37+1 weeks , however baby is transverse and I need to stay in due to risk of cord prolapse. They reluctantly agreed to let me out to sort out the dcs and I have to be back at 5pm. DH is still in Gravesend, but has managed to get out of a job and is on his way home.
So I'm now home to to repack hospital bag to contain loads more underwear, mat clothes, things to entertain myself, etc... I've got to stay in until baby either settles into a good position by itself (it's unstable at the mo) or until the point they decide to just go ahead and get the baby out. I tried to get out of the doc how many days/weeks that would be, but he didn't seem to want to commit to anything. I told him I wanted to have the baby turned and my waters broken if it's not settling rather than c/s. He seemed a bit surprised I'd even suggested that, but I know that can be done. The call it a controlled rupture of membranes. So watch this space and I'll let you all know as soon as I'm out of hospital with our without baby.

Wish me luck.

Gert2a · 16/04/2009 13:13
