Ladies, it seems that we do not know when to stop!
Here is another thread. Let?s hope it?s just not the tread that moves that fast - let the weeks fly!
I jsut have to work out how to link the old one now!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I gained 4 1/2 stone with my first. Had only juuuust managed to lose it when I got pg this time. Am determined not to make the same mistake again. Having said that, am worried that I'm not fatter....can't win.

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/04/2009 10:03

Beepbeep welcome! We used to live in Charlbury and Witney was where we went shopping every week: we moved in September and me and my DSs really miss Dentons toy shop as we used to spend hours in there! There's also a cafe we used to go to a lot which my DSs called 'the lollipop' cafe. It is an Italian cafe near the joke shop and art shop down a side street. The DSs always got a lollipop from the owners every time we went there. We miss Witney

The JR were awful for aftercare when I had DS1. They were just too busy and I never saw the same midwife twice and I got conflicting advice on breast feeding to the point my nipples were in shreds after 3 days. I was transferred to Chipping Norton who were lovely. I had DS2 at Chippy and it was just lovely all round! Aren't they just so lovely those midwives? I just wish I could go back there now

Sorry to go on a bit. As you can tell I have been a bit 'home sick' for where we used to live since moving up here. I miss it so much in Oxfordshire.

I hope everyone is ok today. Big hug to those suffering with MS so badly still

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/04/2009 10:04

Gosh that's three sad faces! I'm not feeling that sad, really, honestly!

katster37 · 26/04/2009 10:40

BeckyBL where do you live now? I used to live in Cheltenham and feel really homesick for it around there as well! The thought of having all my care in a big scary London hospital is quite frightening, especially when you hear stories of women giving birth alone in corridors etc! Aaaagh!

Turtle eeek 4 1/2 stone, I bet it took a while to lose it. Did you mean 4 1/2 stone including the baby though? Not after you'd given birth? I am going to try really hard this week at eating smaller portions and not going overboard. There really is no need for me to develop a malteser addiction - that is just me being greedy!

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/04/2009 10:49

Katster I live in Shrewsbury (we moved to be nearer family as they all live in Shropshire). It's hard isn't it when you move away from somewhere you love living. I was in floods the day we moved! I'm nervous too about care here as I am sure the Shrewsbury hospital was mentioned on the awful documentary a couple of years ago about women giving birth in corridors and the like! I'm sure we'll be fine (she says optimistically).

I think it is nearly impossible not to eat in these early weeks because the morning sickness from hunger is just so awful! I do try to eat 'good' stuff as opposed to crap but strangely crap food like McDonalds chips helps. We're having roast pork for lunch today yum! I totally love roast potatoes and parsnips since being pregnant.

beepbeep · 26/04/2009 10:49

Katster - yes that's what I was meaning, the heartbeats were consistantly either above or below for both of mine (one girl, one boy), had quite a few MW's comment 'oh i think it's a ...' cause of it too.

BeckyBL - I know which cafe you mean, but can't remember the name!! I also transferred to chippy after giving birth 1st time at Horton and then then had DS at Chippy - amazing isn't it?! If had choice would def go there again, i think it's harder to transfer for aftercare now though. I love Dentons, but had to stay out of there, DD is only 2.5 and wants EVERYTHING! so easier to avoid at the moment!

Better go, DH and has walked the dog to his parents with DD in backpack so ought to go and pick them up (though ought to get out of my pjs first )

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/04/2009 11:17

Ooooh I'm feeling all nostalgic now! When we went to Witney we'd always park in Waitrose carpark and start with Cargo (my DSs used to love it in there for some reason), then Waterstones, Dentons, Woolies and then over to the lollipop cafe for a latte and fruit juices. I often then went to the art shop on the way back to the carpark as I paint when I get the chance and sometimes we'd finish in Waitrose for any bits of food we needed and a wee. Happy days!

Chippy was lovely. I used to love the baths I had there with lavender and chamomile oil: divine. It was like a home from home.

I've got carried away again with nostalgia! Sorry everyone else!

eeyore2 · 26/04/2009 11:18

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I have finally made it to the big 12 weeks, very relieved but still have the nuchal scan to go before I really relax, that's on Tuesday. I had thought the ms was over, until yesterday when I was watching TV with DH and suddenly had to make a mad dash for the loo! Also, has anyone got twinging pains in the back of their pelvis? I am starting to get it quite badly, and a little bit in the front, and am really worried about SPD. Has anyone had this before?

scarlotti · 26/04/2009 13:32

Hello all

Doing ok here nausea wise, was 12 weeks on Friday so am hoping it might have dissappeared now (although saying that is bound to have brought it back!) Have my scan tomorrow so part excited part scared stiff about what we'll see.

pavlov you are not alone with needing a moan, I am struggling with (d)h a lot at the moment. Take heart in that you will feel better in a few weeks and then more able to get on and do stuff.

welcome to all the new ladies!

HomeintheSun · 26/04/2009 13:59

Scarlotti I'm with you on the part scared stiff, I have my scan at 10.20 tomorrow, my friend says she's have DS.
Munchies37 great news about your twins, take care and hope the ms isn't too bad.
Tamlin Lol at your baby giving the dr the slip for so long.

DH came hope last night after his week in the UK, he was unpacking the suitcase this morning when DS got in it and closed the lid and the stayed there for about 45 minutes it was open just enough so he could watch walle through the gap.. bless him. He's now trying to eat everything in the fridge, a month ago he would eat nothing all day and now if it's not nailed down he'll eat it.

ldeeanna · 26/04/2009 15:09

Hello scorpion, grace and doris!! Excuse lazy typing-I can barely lift my hands-im so so exhausted! My partner does not understand this-it makes him angry because i've no need to be tired as i'm always resting and if I am to tired its because i'm over rested! He's so pig headed-arrgghh!! He is the type of man who doesn't beleive in things such as asthma, autism and ADHD!! He's driving me mad!! So you are not alone Pavlov there are others suffering from this too!!!

Those who are waiting for scans-i know-every day seems like a week! Im a very paranoid person and even though I had a scan last week at 9 + 4 which was fine-I now dont beleive (paranoia) that 2.7cm was big enough and she didn't check the heartbeat so im still panicing! And my boobs dont hurt any more! WHY?!!! Convinced i'll go for my scan next Tues and there will be bad news-especially as I've told a few people in the excitement of the scan last week!! Worry worry worry!! Sorry! Im not a joy to read!

katster37 · 26/04/2009 15:33

Homeinthesun good luck for your scan tomorrow.

I am also terrified.... Had a scan at 7 weeks which was lovely, but seems like so much that can go wrong between 7 and 12 weeks, and got a week and a half to wait for mine... So far away!!
Ideanna my boobs are also hurting less although I do still feel very sick quite often. Have you seen a website called visembryo.com? it has different measurements according to how many days post ovultaion you are and it looks like 2.7cm is great for 9+4 so I wouldn't worry. Although this is coming from someone who worries about absolutely everything!!

grace09 · 26/04/2009 16:18

Ideanna and katster - i'm so glad i'm not the only one constantly worrying and panicking. My relief at everything being ok at my 6 week scan lasted about a day and then seemed to get worse!! Kept thinking if i lost this one it would be even worse than before because i'd actually seen it!! Like you ideanna i'm analysing every symptom. A few days ago my nausea completely vanished, boobs felt less painful too. By that night the sore boobs were back and the nausea was back with a vengeance the next day. Didn't think i'd ever be so happy to feel so sick!!

Eeyore - i get those pelvic twinges too - can i ask what is SPD?

Scarlotti and homeinthesun - good luck with your scans. I've got mine too. will be thinking of you

BeckyBendyLegs · 26/04/2009 16:26

It is comforting to know that others all going through the same fears as me: constant symptom analysing, nerves about impending scan. It is so hard isn't it? My MS has gone down a lot since last Monday but boobies still sore and big. I asked DH yesterday to feel my belly and see if it felt bigger and he said 'no, not really' which sent me into a panic! My scan is a week on Monday and I really, really, really wish I could travel through time and just get it over and done with: find out one way or another whether everything is ok.

Good luck for tomorrow scarlotti and homeinthesun.

scarlotti · 26/04/2009 16:42

Homeinthesun mine is at 1pm so you'll be first. Fingers crossed we both have good news at the end of the day.

HomeintheSun · 26/04/2009 18:13

when I had the first scan when I was expecting DS I was so worried that I'd be told that there was nothing there and that I was just a fake, I had a dream last night that I forgot to go to the scan and I think I went to the beach instead, I woke up in a blind panic and had to think for a minute what day it was.
I'll check in with you tomorrow for your results fingers crossed for both of us and Lemonpie and fruitpastel I think they're also having theirs tomorrow.

Cies · 26/04/2009 20:55

I'm another one who's scared and excited in equal measure about my scan, which is on Wednesday. Pre-MN I had never heard of MMC, so I would have been much more relaxed, but as it is I am a bundle of nerves. DH says I have been in my own world all weekend, serious and silent. But I'm just wondering and hoping and imagining all the time.

Good luck those with scans tomorrow. I hope to check in in the evening and find lots of good news.

ldeeanna · 26/04/2009 21:13

Good luck with your scans!!
Thank you Kaster, thats really kind-i'll go and have a look in a minute! Like you too my belly is getting rather large!! when I sit down it goes into 3 rolls of fat!! this is new to me but when I stand it is like a mini baby belly-my tops are rolling up because of it!! I didn't think it was possible this early? Keep thinking that its all in the mind and I must be subconciously breathing out!!
Anyone who's had a baby...What happens after you give birth to your tummy? How long does it take to 'deflate' and does it ever return to how it was before-obviously excercise might help? And how hard do you have to work before its too late!! Just curious!!!

pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 21:21

Good luck with the scans tomorrow everyone, fingers crossed it all goes well for you all.

DH came back and we had ham salad and it was lovely, and he bought me nice apple juice too! I fell asleep on the sofa, then went to bed with dh at midnight, slept until 9am with DH as DD was at our friend's house and it was bliss. We have made up and he is much better with me now.

However. He has just messed up badly. He went to the shops for non-frozen new york cheesecake and returned with frozen mandarin cheesecake. Now, that is going to take a while to forgive .

lemontop · 26/04/2009 21:26

My scan's at 9.40 in the morning. I had scans at 7weeks and 10 weeks due to bleeding but am still a bit nervous about this one even though the spotting seems to have finally stopped. I absolutely hate having blood taken and have to get two lots taken tomorrow(one for midwife, one for nuchal) so am a bit worried about that. It always takes ages to find a a vein and I end up with massive bruises afterwards.

I'm trying to be careful not to gain too much weight as I was told my bmi is very high at my booking in and I'd have to see a consultant for a check up. I've been going to the gym and doing fairly gentle exercise and not gained any weight so far, although have just had very large helping of rhubarb crumble!

All the best to everyone with scans tomorrow.

PootleTheFlump · 26/04/2009 21:35

Good luck to all those with scans tomorrow - we are keeping those hospitals busy aren't we!

I had my booking appointment last week, and got given a truckload of stuff in the bounty folder! I have my scan on Tuesday and am terrified, so looking forward to good stories from the advance crew!

Ninjacat · 26/04/2009 21:39

Welcome Newbies.

Good Luck for all those awaiting scans tomorrow and in the near future

As I had a nine week scan they won't give me a 12wk scan and will have to wait for 20wks so feeling very jealous

Katster37 at 9.4 I measured 2.6cm if that's any reassurance?

Sorry to all those who are having dp/h problems. pg is a pretty vulnerable time x

I have a nasty cold and am now freaking myself out about what that could do to baby.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 26/04/2009 21:46

Ninja - no way! Why on earth is that? the 9 week scan is not the dating scan, it is not accurate enough, that is shite! Have you spoken to midwife?

Ninjacat · 26/04/2009 21:50

It was mw who refused to refer me for a scan. They said they could date from a 9wk scan and that even if she booked me one the hospital would refuse to do it

Ninjacat · 26/04/2009 21:52

Pavlov Glad to see your dh is making life easier x
