Well you've put my worries in the shade, so thanks for that!

lolianja - one of my best friends has 10.5 months between two of her DDs- like you she fell pregnant around 5 or 6 weeks after her DD2 was born- and she was breastfeeding etc. and really thought it would be impossible (they'd had probs conceiving DD1 &2)- but it turns out according to the docs you are actually incredibly fertile about a month after giving birth! She always wanted more kids but the pregnancy was a big shock, and to be honest she did suffer pretty bad SPD with it, as she figured her body hadn't quite recovered from DD2's birth- plus she found it very hard to continue BFing, so had to stop. But she now has 3 girls (18 months between DD1 & DD2, 10.5 months between DD2 & DD3) and a lil boy (born 2.4yrs after DD3- she was ultra careful that time!!). Her 3 girls play sooooo well together and are incredibly close (they're now 4, 5 & 6)- like others have said it was incredibly hard work at first but it has paid off now they're a bit older. As my friend said you just have to embrace the chaos it'll bring, go with the flow and look to the future...!! (while obviously enjoying the littlies). Also as DD2 was so young she didn't get at all jealous of DD3.

Hi, can I join please? This will be my third DC, I've two insanely cute little boys already, 3.5 and 1.5 years, so we're realllyyy hoping for a girl this time, whether it's PC to say that or not.. Oooh maternity clothes! biscuits and claire - where are you hunting?

I was trying not to get too involved in my pregnancy until after the 1st trimester(yeah right - I've only spent an unhealthy portion of every day so far symptom-spotting, thinking of baby names, researching baby gear ) ... but what the hell!

I'm now feeling more preggers - sore boobs (with weird white spots on nipples, what's that about?) and queasy (especially when I wake up during the night).

(and Joolsiam, if you're still reading this thread, I wanted to offer my sympathies too )

Hello everyone, I am due with my first on 13th December. I was getting married in August but won't fit into my dress by then, so we have decided to move wedding to 27th May with just 8 guests. We will announce the wedding and pregnancy to everyone else sometime in June. Just hope everyone understands why we moved it and is not offended!

Have a dilemma though - DH is offshore and not home til the 20th of May. He was offshore when I told him I was pg with DD and I sooooo want to see his face this time. Do you reckon I'll manage to keep quiet for a few more weeks or should I just tell him?

becksworth - was looking on Mothercares website, but having actually gone to buy stuff, most of it then comes up with "no longer available to buy online" ARGH! Why leave it on there then!

Next rant.
Went to docs yesterday, thought it would be a waste of time but receptionist insisted I needed an appointment. I was right. The doctor was rubbish. Asked me my last period date and said "do you know how far along you are", to which I replied yes. She never gave me a due date (thank the lord for the internet), just checked I was taking folic acid and asked where I was planning on having the baby. Then asked if I had any questions. I'm due to fly out to florida for a holiday when I'm 12 wks, so just asked her was that ok or were there any risks. Her reply "1 in 4 pregnancys does end in miscarriage and it'll happen whatever" Just said deadpan. Then sent me out and told me to pick up a pregnancy pack at the reception. Why I couldn't have just had a telephone appointment to get me "onto the system" and picked up a pack in my own time? As for my one worry, she totally didn't reassure me, if anything has put the ebbie jeebies into me. So if I do go on holiday and the worse happens, I'm actually going to feel like it's my fault for daring to fly when pregnant! So darn glad that A) this isn't my first pregnancy so have an idea of what to expect and B) I have mumsnet "Real people" to reassure me and give me better advice!

retrodolly - you're not alone - we're all really happy for you! Why the disapproval? We haven't told our parents yet, I'm 7 weeks tomorrow with our first baby and DP wants to wait until the first scan to make sure everything is ok.

I'm felling really rubbish today, my boobs are enormous, would be great except I'm not very big so they are pretty disproportionate and very sore. I'm also feeling pretty yuk (although haven't puked yet which is good) but I'm flying to NZ on Thursday to meet DP so could do with some moral support and I am sooooo dreading the flight.....

Dear 'Biscuit' - I asked my GP about flying at my appointment last week and he was really reassuring and said it shouldn't be a problem at all and he could see no reason why I couldn't fly right up about 34 weeks which is usually the airline cut-off date. I fly regularly with work and my little one has already been to Venice & back, NZ this week and then Spain at the end of May, it's a well travelled baby before it's even born!

Biscuits - I'm sure I read somewhere that it's safe to fly in pregnancy until the third trimester. As far as I'm aware, the main risk is of delivering on the plane so I reckon you'll be absolutely fine. Stupid unhelpful doctor, sounds like she was rattling off statistics like a machine.

Retrodolly - sorry everyone is being like that, what are their reasons? surely your DH had a helping hand!!

We have told one RL friend, and my parents. RL friend said we must be at it like rabbits and how many beds have we owned and we need a bigger telly . Then congrats. My parents were happy, always are, bless them.

Flying whilst pg is fine - i have in other pgs. just drink more water and wriggle your ankles.

I just feel very tired, my armpits are sore (boobs go up there, hence why sore)and i randomly urge whilst eating . I went to bed at 7pm last night!

I'm waiting for my scan appointment, saw GP on thursday, hoping i will get the letter soon and hopefulyl appt next week.

6 weeks today

I have no symptoms apart from the blardy nerve-wracking stretchy pains, which I remember from last time. My MS started at 6 weeks when I was pg with dd, so still time, I guess. Even a little symptom would make me feel better.

I could say I'm tired, blah, blah, but I'm not sure if I feel any worse than normal!

Cheers ladies with the reassurances re flying. ravgirl - thats one hell of a well travelled baby . Anyone any advice re travel sickness? Again got told bluntly by doctor that there is nothing I can take to help it
