Devongirl · 15/06/2009 16:17

Cazzybabs I've heard so many people say they had bleeding throughout their pregnancies and had fine healthy babies so stay positive xxx

Baisey · 15/06/2009 16:58

Hope everything is ok Cazzybabs.
Devongirl, you are not alone in spending alot of time in the loo. Ive read that its apparantly normal entering your second trimester. Something to do with hormones and the position of the baby, yadda yadda yadda.
Its annoying, you speak to someone and its "ohhh its very normal" I dont care if its normal, its bloody painful and not to mention very time consuming!!!
Rant over.

Devongirl · 15/06/2009 17:00

Balsey - exactly! I have spent so much time in the loo over the past week just trying not to strain, trying to relax, yadda yadda, and it's so unsatisfying! And all they can recommend is prunes (which I will never be able to eat another one again ever I'm afraid!) My Mum's said strawberries so I've just eaten a punnet, so fingers crossed! So glad I can talk about this on here - I don't think I could in RL!

cazzybabs · 15/06/2009 19:53

Thanks girls .. bleeding seems to have stopped, but who knows. My stomach really hurts though. I'll keep you updated

JoseyM · 15/06/2009 20:13

Hey yummy mummys

Had scan today was amazing...may of had a few tears! Just didn't expect it to be so clear and for it to wriggle so much!

Got many spots appearing all over my face...beautiful!

Belly is growing im 12 wks on Friday. Got really sore lower back pain though so i am going to have a (not too hot) bath to try and ease it a bit.

Good to hear you are all getting on well x

cairnterrier · 15/06/2009 20:17

Does anyone else wake up in the middle of the night absolutely starving? Have started having first and second breakfasts - and third breakfasts on Sunday, a record so far!

I've also got a little baby bump and just bought my first pair of stretchy bump jeans. Only thing is my bump is not quite big enough to hold them up so normal jeans are tight and uncomfortable in the evening and stretchy bump jeans fall down!

NT scan later today so hopefully first proper look rather than a jelly bean on a badly tuned TV :-)

Milliemuffin · 15/06/2009 20:59

Hi ladies, I had my booking in appt with midwife today and heard the heartbeat which was a great relief. Got nuchal scan next monday so only a week until I can post one of many status's on facebook, just haven't decided which one yet. Have already told close friends and family in person but didn't want everyone knowing until I know everything's ok.

Cairnterrier - many times have I thought about a second breakfast but assumed that was just greedy, now I feel like I have permission to eat a second, or is that still wrong? how did your scan go?

cairnterrier · 15/06/2009 21:10

Hi Millie

Great news about hearing the heartbeat - how very exciting. I'm currently in Australia so it's only just our morning, scan is this afternoon so I guess early doors UK time. Will post more tomorrow.

First breakfasts can be about 0400 and then second breakfasts more around 0800. Generally crunchy nut cornflakes first then toast and marmite later on.

If I manage to stay asleep until 6ish then first breakfasts at about 0615 then second breakfasts about 1000. If I'm at work then second breakfasts are usually muesli bars and fruit eaten hurriedly under my desk giving me heart burn :-)

BTW, can anyone help me on what a warm bath is? I'm a real water baby but am getting confused as to what a warm or hot bath is counted as.

Milliemuffin · 15/06/2009 23:05

I would have thought a 'hot' bath is the one that makes your legs a different colour to the rest of you!

Never been one for hot baths myself, anyway, you live in oz! surely a cool shower is what you want??

cairnterrier · 16/06/2009 00:24

Well it's winter here so it only reaches 22 during the day - it was 35 in summer and very humid so felt much hotter and so relatively it is cold. It does drop to 3-5 at night so is quite chilly.

I'm also very much a Brit at heart and can't survive without regular baths. Caused chaos when looking for a flat as I had to have one with a bath :-)

Good tip about the change in colour of your legs. I'll keep an eye out for that one.

cairnterrier · 16/06/2009 06:37

Okay, scan went well so a lovely wriggly baby inside. Lovely 2D photos but they couldn't get a good angle for the 3D one so am a bit freaked out as the picture looks like a squashed alien. Also according to our lovely radiographer I have a 'lovely placenta'. Not something I had previously prided myself on but there you go.

I've moved my date as well as I'm now back to dates acc to LMP. Thinking of everyone else x

Oops, sorry, just to clarify am due on 23rd December.

Tillyscoutsmum · 16/06/2009 08:17

Cazzy - have you spoken to your midwife ? Can you get a scan ? I started bleeding 2 days after my 12 week scan with dd and bled on and off until 20 weeks. Scary as hell but she was absolutely fine. Fingers crossed for you

LaDiDa - I promise I am huge. Maybe I'll take a bump pic and put it on my profile. No one can believe I'm "only" 14 weeks. I look at least 6 months gone

I think the nausea might be easing. Still knackered though

Beffnal · 16/06/2009 08:47

Totally with you all on the 2 breakfast thing. In fact I've taken to having my 1st breakfast before I even go to bed so I don't wake up at 4am absolutely starving!
Cazzy - hope you're ok this morning and the midwife appointment goes well.

Scorps · 16/06/2009 11:18

I have about 5 breaksfasts , well at least 2.

Good news on scans ladies Mine is tomorrow afternoon so will be going public tomorrow evening.....expect me coming on here with all the silly comments i will get.

I am in maternity skinny jeans, isabella oliver tops (ruching is lovely!!) and my normal cardis over the top.

cazzybabs · 16/06/2009 12:54

No .. seeing the midwife at 2.45. Hope I don't cry infront of her ... am feeling abit emotional.

Still bleeding on and off - still brown, but was more red this morning. It is not a huge amount but then it wasn't to start with the last time. Anway I am not going to start thinking about it postively...I would rather be glass half-empty!

Anyway hope everyone else is well and I am the last to cope with this!

Baisey · 16/06/2009 13:18

Good luck at the midwifes cazzy and dont worry about crying in front of her.

I was up in the night with the worst stomach cramps ever felt like I was in labour, which was quite worrying till I realised I must of caught a stomach bug or something So im now overdosing on water!
Saw midwife today and heard the heartbeat, she says the baby is extremely active, which is what they said about my DS and he still doesnt stop now!!
Well im gonna go buy some new walking boots for my holiday in Scotland, dont think im quite up for Ben Nevis in my condition though!!

BexieID · 16/06/2009 13:57

I had my 12 week scan on friday and my due date is now xmas day! Baby was moving around loads. I'm having another scan at 24 weeks as i'm overweight and was told a scan would be better to determine bubbas size. I also have a big decision to make as well. I had a 3rd degree tear with Tom and they're worried i'll tear again and be incontinent, so have suggested me having an elective section at 39 weeks. My BMI is 47 so have all that extra weight to consider with the recovery.

I'm already depressed with work being complete ar$ses and this has now added to it. I just want to enjoy this preganancy like I did with Tom .

Thinking of you cazzybabs - Hope it all goes well....

SarahL2 · 16/06/2009 14:07

Just found out I have to have a blood test redone.

Locum midwife who took my blood at booking in didn't tick all of the boxes on the form so I some of the tests that should have been done - haven't!

Grrr, I hate blood tests. Always get a nasty bruise

charleymouse · 16/06/2009 18:46

Good luck Cazzy hope all is well.

Just to reassure some of you my constant D+V has stopped. Tis just a phase, it will pass. Although whilst I spent the last 15 weeks huddled over/on the loo I would not have believed you. DH even said I was starting to bloom last night

I am huge it is official. I have no stomach muscles whatsoever.

Is anyone up for TPT Toilet Paper Tuesday. You get the loo roll and measure how many sheets it takes to get around your middle. I am currently 8.5 sheets at 15 weeks. (Tesco own brand in a lovely shade of magnolia)

A December baby is no bad thing Sarah, some people just seem to try and take the joy out of everything. Ignore them. Your birthday is just a day as well, it is what you do with it that makes it special.

Hope you are all well and starting to get past the sickness and having a great time getting scans and seeing your little beans.

Baisey · 16/06/2009 19:26

Oh Sarah I had thought of another reason why December babies are great and couldnt find your thread, Dads dont have to take Paternity leave if you cant afford to do so, because they have their annual christmas leave round about then anyway!!!

cazzybabs · 16/06/2009 19:41

well there was good news and bad news...

the good news is the baby is alive and active...she found the heartbeat right away..phew

bad news my blood pressure is already very high...
and I will have to have consultant care

cazzybabs · 16/06/2009 19:43

however I AM VERY GLAD there was a heartbeat

Tillyscoutsmum · 16/06/2009 19:59

Cazzy - so glad all was well I suppose the blood pressure could have been worse because you were so worried ?? Consultant care is good imho - lots of extra care and attention

Hi CM - I will do toilet roll challenge and report back
