cairnterrior...... strawberry nesquick rocks!!!!!!! i am drinking bucket loads!!! try making it into ice lollies. had my pregnancy risk assessment at work today and the headteacher and health and safety guy were so nice to me i filled up!!! they said if i need a break or a chair bringing etc etc everyone will run around after me. how sweet and how emotional am i.

Yesterday at work I was sat on a little kick stool thing. We were "threatened" with a visit from the area manager and my boss said "yes we are all in our zones... except Baisey" in a really arsey voice. I said nothing for about a minute and then said to my colleague about asking area manager what she thought of the fact I can sit on kick stool because of being pregnant AND disabled and whether she thought it was discrimination if I was made to feel bad about it... Then I smiled sweetly at boss.

Milliemuffin Happy 30th Birthday.

Have changed due date after scan. Had a good nuchal scan earlier this week and have seen foetal maternal specialist who assures me there is no sign of DT1s problems so I can feel more confident to join you ladies now.

I have lost 10lbs since finding out I am pregnant due to S&D sorry if TMI and had just thought I was over it when yesterday I succumbed agin. Ho hum healthy eating what is that? Off to try some salt and vinegar crisps for lunch. Oh boy it is so true that each pregnancy is completely different. If this had been the first one the other ones wouldn't have happened that's for sure.
Is anyone else considering a home birth?

Just updating my details as I had my scan today and after much debate amongst the scanners they've changed by due date by a whole day Doctor initially suggested the 8th of December so she was only out by 22 days Don't think she believed me when I said that would have been a bloody miracle as DH was offshore at that time

Hello everyone!

I had a scan yesterday, and saw my new gynaecologist for the first time. I was a bit worried, as I got on so well with the last one, but it all turned out very well. He was very chatty and keen to practise his English on me!

He has also changed my EDD, so I'm updating the list as well.

It's nice to see that the baby is looking more and more like a baby and less like a prawn, as it did on the earlier scans. I'm getting quite excited now!

We've decided to start telling people and as tomorrow is MIL's birthday and she's having a family party at home, dh thinks this is the perfect opportunity - get the news told all at once, at least as far as his side is concerned, and a lovely birthday present for MIL. I'm a bit apprehensive about it myself, I'd prefer to tell people one by one.

Hi ladies, i'm going out for dinner in half an hour but about 2hrs ago a tiny bit of blood fell into the toilet. Has anyone else had anything like that happen? gonna try and forget about it whilst i'm out but just want some reassurance that it's probably nothing...

Got a very strange letter from the hospital this morning. Tells me that an "outpatients appointment" has been made for me in August (will be about 20 weeks hopefully) and to bring my pregnancy notes and some wee with me.

What it doesn't say is what this appointment is for!!!

I need to report to the Obstetrics/Gynaecology department so it's not a scan. Can't be anything too worrying either else it wouldn't be planned for 2 months time.

It's still got me worried though. Why couldn't they just write on the stupid letter what the appointment is for?! I hate MK General!

And cause it's a Saturday, I can't phone them to find out and both of my midwives are on leave! Grrrr

SarahL2 it's probably just a routine check up? I had lots made during my initial visit to the midwife, for the scan and for general checks (where I must bring wee!) too. So I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. They would say if so - no news is good news and all that?

It could be raggie but I never had a routine appointment at the hospital for anything other than scans when I had DS.

The only thing I can think of is that it might be an appointment with the consultant cause I had a C section last time.

Would it have been so hard to say so though?!?

Sarah, try not to worry, am sure if it was anything other than routine it wouldn't be for so far in the future.

Agree lack of detail is annoying though. It would be nice if they could be a bit more human about things sometimes...

Sarah - i have to see a consultant as i had a cs beccauswe of the risk of the scar re-opening (I cn't spell rupturing in labour - oh i can!!!).

bloody dd3 - i hate my cs scar... i am not having another c-section!

Does anyone else have days where you don't feel pregnant or am I just being paranoid? My belly's not been as big recently and just not feeling very positive.

Don't worry Millie I think we all have days like that - I know I do! In fact - I've been feeling like that a lot recently. My morning sickness has eased a bit (something that didn't happen with DS till 5 months) and for the majority of the afternoon when I don't feel sick I could eaily think I wasn't pregnant at all. I know how worrying it can be!

Thanks docket and cazzybabs. I keep reminding myself that anything major would not be scheduled so far in advance. I can't help wondering what on earth it might be though. I think I'm going to assume that it's a consultant appointment until I can talk to a midwife or the hospital on Monday - do they happen at 20-ish weeks do you know?? Have a couple of friends I could ask but I was going to wait till after my scan on Friday to announce the pregnancy so I'd be giving the game away a bit!

I'm actually considering writing to the hospital to complain. How hard could it be to add one sentence explaining what the appointment is for. They must know 90% of pregnant women are already at thier wits end worrying about every little thing. Why add to it!

I've just been looking at the maternity stuff on ASOS & have spent a fortune. I'd been started to wonder what I was going to wear as most maternity stuff I'd looked at was pretty uninspiring. I only actually went on ASOS to look at shoes as they're the only thing that still fit properly. I would definitely recommend it.

Have spent most of my morning trying to get through to the Outpatients Appointments Query line this morning but it has been constantly engaged so I tried the midwife.

She seems fairly sure that it will be an appointment with the consultant because I had Pre-eclampsia, an Induction and a C-section last time.

So I'm happier but still a bit worried.

Nice to know midwife is nice though. She's even going to chase up my appointment with the Traumatic Births team so I can discuss the disaster that was my last birth before I attempt to decide what will be best this time!

I haven't posted here for weeks but finally feel I can again. We had a CVS test done due to DD having CF, and it was a pretty traumatic process due to positioning of placenta (and one that I'd really rather not repeat) but finally got the results at the end of last week, and thankfully LO does not have CF!

My last scan (have had 6 so far!!) put my EDD to 11th Dec, so am amending the list. However, we are actually aiming for 13th November or later as it is unlikely I will get further than 37/38wks due to history of pre-eclampsia... but I really hope this time to make it further than my last 2 (born at 30wks and 36wks).

Ok I am feeling a bit braver now and ready to join you all, had my scan yesterday and all was fine even though I'd convinced myself absolutely 100% that I'd miscarried.

Scans seem to have got much clearer since DS - we could see so much detail already at only 13 weeks! DC seemed to be waving at us which set me off. Finally I feel like I can get excited about this preg now!!!

Those who have had emergency CS before - anyone going to try for a normal birth or electing for another CS? I will be seeing a consultant at 20 weeks to talk it all through but change my mind hourly at the moment.

I had an emergency CS last time devongirl ad also can't decide whether or not to try a VBAC this time.

On the one hand I was really disappointed that I didn't do it "properly" last time on the other hand - the bit I did do really hurt!!

Yes SarahL2, that's how I feel. I don't think I could cope with another 24 hour labour followed by an emergency CS but on the other hand there's no reason why it won't all go fine this time so I keep shifting between the two ideas... Still got 6 months to decide though I suppose.

I got to 4cm reaonably easily last time, and the m/w was running the water bath, then came meconium when my waters broke so the taps were turned off, then I was still 4cm 4 hours later, then 4 more hours, then 4 more... then blue light to main hospital, epidural, 4 more hours blah blah. Don't think I could stand that again...

BUT it could have all gone fine if I had continued at the rate that I started, if DS's head had been at the right angle... I don't know. There was a woman at the maternity unit who had had MY birth - water birth, totally natural, no epidural etc. I know it doesn't matter because DS is fine and I am very lucky, it's just something to think about
