Yay, great news Schlumpf and Loli!!!

LittleMonkeysMummy · 13/05/2009 07:30

Fab news Schlumpf and Loli!!

DiDov · 13/05/2009 08:00

Hey everyone,
Hope you all okay. Congratulations on the twins Lolianga and glad everything is fine Schlumpf . Not been able to post for a while as had been frantically cooking and baking for son's 3rd birthday party. That was on Sunday and would like to say that I'm now going to take it easy but we're away to move house soooo..
Had first scan yesterday. Showed me to be 8wks which is about what I thought and a heartbeat, so very relieved. For anyone worrying about not feeling symptoms maybe it could be down to you carrying a different gender. Remember freaking out with first pregnancy, DS, bacause I felt fine. The second pregnancy, DD, I felt terrible. Now, again, I'm fine; sometimes feel slight nausea in evenings, tired from about 3pm. So, maybe, another boy? have to go now, kids are totally destoying the livingroom. By the way, can't remember who was asking about headache remedies, blame it on pregnancy brain, but I also get really bad headaches in early pregnancy; found that drinking LOTS of water helps to prevent them

DiDov · 13/05/2009 08:03

Morning LittleMonkeysMummy. See you're from Aberdeen. that's where I'm from. In Greece now but all my huge family still there, What's the weather like today?

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/05/2009 09:31

Had my scan yesterday, baby all fine but i swear they have measured me wrong, or i had an immacualte conception as DH was in Thailand when they are suggesting i conceived, LOL.

My scan was through tummy; he did say was hard to measure that way and will re-confirm at 12 weeks, but either way, a healthy baby!

Congrats on twins - you will need a treble buggy, lol

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/05/2009 09:31

oh and i have booking in with MW today, same one as last year which is nice.

EffieGadsby · 13/05/2009 09:42

It's interesting to see all these early scans producing due dates that seem to be out of sync with your cycles. I had the same thing with my early dating scan a fortnight ago, when I was given a date that suggested a follicular phase of only 10 or 11 days (out of a 35 day plus cycle - seems very unlikely). I'm fully expecting my due date to be brought forward at the 12 week scan, as I've studied every possibility on my chart, and I just can't make the dates add up.

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/05/2009 09:43

Effie - its odd isnt it! DH was in Thaialand for nearly 3 weeks, the last time we had sex was the day he left, day 13 of my cycle. They are suggesting a day 20 conception! So wrong.

LaDiDaDi · 13/05/2009 10:05

I'm so pleased to hear of some positive scan news for Scorpio, Schlumpf and Lolianja .

Lets hope that the good news keeps on coming.

Stigaloid · 13/05/2009 10:26

I had a scan yesterday as couldn't wait to find out if this horrendous m/s was due to more than one. Just the one baby in there and measuring bang on taregt for dates. Saw the heart beat and all looking good.

Re: the discussion on GBS+ and anti-biotics - i think once you test positive you are always positive (according to my gp anyway). I had AB during labour with DS1 and he still caught an infection - ended up in special care and hospital for 2 weeks. Am going to have ABs this time too - my first birth was 5 hours so bit concerned that i will have too quicka birth and go through the same horrible nightmare start.

sparklycheerymummy · 13/05/2009 11:24

The midwife say i will need to start abs 4 hours beforei deliver.... my labour was 10 hours with dd. not entirely sure but i have been told and reconfirmed that once you are a carrier you are always a carrier. Fed up today..... had a huge row with dp abou him working so much and saying each job will be a short one and it takes weeks..... he works till 11pm most evenings and pretty much all weekend. not complaining as i amore him but then he is sulking because at 11pm after being sick all evening i am either asleep when he gets in or just not interested in having sex. Anyone else not interested in having sex or is it just me.... maybe when i stop feeling sick????? also i have a sill paranoia that it might in someway cause damdge to the baby.....probably TMI but he is a large fella??!!! now i feel guilty not attending to his needs but he is not even holding my hair when i puke and my nipples are so sore that when he tweeks them like radio knobs i just want to belt him one!!

sparklycheerymummy · 13/05/2009 11:25

admire him

LittleMonkeysMummy · 13/05/2009 11:45

Hi DiDov...weather in Aberdeen is, well, normal - grey and overcast but hey, at least it's relatively warm. Most upset as we've just had 2 absolutely beautiful days!! Hopefully that wasn't our summer

Sparkly...agree with walloping them!! DH was meant to be home in about the 20th but has now decided to stop off in the states for a week for a little holiday with s couple of guys from the boat! WTF!! When do I get my holiday then and should I be pissed off that he isn't desperate to rush home and see me, DD and the, what feels like, rapidly growing bump?!?!? Seriously don't remember having a bump at this stage with DD As for sex...he'll be lucky if I let him sleep in the same room when he gets home - although he did say he'd bring me back a pressie

sparklycheerymummy · 13/05/2009 11:51

ha ha.... glad its not just me who is not fussed for it. the thought of bouncing about makes me sick and doc says i have to keep my blood pressure down and not over exert. Now getting a cold anyway..... will give him a shock one day and be raring for it but doubt it. he is working in a city where there are plenty of brothels...... only joking!!!!! He really was very shouty and abrupt with me and he never used to be.... maybe he needs some evening primrose or something.

DiDov · 13/05/2009 12:36

Don't worry LittleMonkeysMummy there is always a week in August of summer and then that's usually it.
Sparkycheerymum I'm also completely off sex. No terrible symptoms. Just too tired and can't be bugged. Some women feel more horny during pregnancy but not me; it's like my body's saying "Right, job done, no need for any of that nonsense now". Thankfully, as this is 3rd pregnancy, husband is well used to it by now and steers well clear, especially as extreme bitchiness seems to be my major early pregnancy symptom.

sparklycheerymummy · 13/05/2009 12:46

ha ha thanks for making me laugh and makng me feel paranoid. trouble is my dds father (not with him now) had 2 affairs..... one while i was pregnant and sicka nd one started when she was bout 10 months old so i am a bit worried if i dont give this new fella some he will do the same.... he is getting ratty about his deprivation but he is a much nicer and lovely man. got rid of my dds father after the second one.... ironically we get on well now!! (only for dds sake though). x

Pinkjenny · 13/05/2009 13:07

Congrats to all with good scan news (it's about time this thread had some good news!), and especially to lolianja

I too had a bleeding scare yesterday and ended up at EPU. Exactly the same thing happened with dd, I was even in the same scan room. All is fine, baby is measuring exactly right, and saw the little heartbeat.

It was a slightly heartbreaking experience, though, seeing people coming out of the scan room so upset .

Very humbling. I couldn't wait to get home and squeeze the life out of dd.

SarahL2 · 13/05/2009 13:50

Anyone else finding it harder to keep things a secret?

Just had a friend pop round after I missed Toddler group due to feeling so awful this morning. Still felt very green while she was here and I'm sure I must ahve looked it too! And the house is a tip cause I've not had the energy to clean up!

Felt like just telling her to explain the state of me, DS and the house!!!

sparklycheerymummy · 13/05/2009 14:03

I am telling quite a few people that i trust but telling them that it is not public and the kids must not find out and it mustn't end up on facebook!!!

Catz · 13/05/2009 14:33

Congratulations to all with the good scan news. 10 more days (and counting) till my 12 week scan. Have been pleased to be feeling a bit worse recently but still very anxious to make sure that there is a baby there and all is alright. My scan is the day of my grandma's 85th birthday and all the family will be going to see her so I think I might tell them all then (parents know already) but am a bit worried that 12 weeks is still on the early side.

I'm also finding it difficult to keep things a secret though I've told parents and about 6 or 7 friends. I'm so used to it in my mind now that I find it difficult to remember not to mention 'when this baby is here' etc in conversation. Also I really am looking podgy now. I tend to wear quite fitted stuff and it took me ages to find a top baggy enough to hide things this morning.

hoops997 · 13/05/2009 16:03

No longer on this bus, missed miscarriage, at 8 weeks, but good luck to everyone else and hope all goes well and you all have lovely babies xxx

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/05/2009 16:04

I too am getting a tummy already, but am disguising with long vests and done up cardis.

Catz good luck for your scan, 12 weeks is a fine time to tell IMO

Had my booking in with midwife, and thinks my EDD is Xmas day, scan said 28th and my LMP says 22nd. LOL. Going to go with LMP for mean time until 12 week scan.

ScorpiowithabigS · 13/05/2009 16:05

So sorry hoops look after yourself xx

Pinkjenny · 13/05/2009 16:05

Sorry hoops997

LaDiDaDi · 13/05/2009 16:43
