Morning all, hope everyone is doing ok?

Got another scan today, feel so reassured after the scan but towards the start of the next scan feel so nervous again! Apart from odd tiredness now and then and sore boobs some days I've not had anything, ohhh ok I'm hungry more then normal but thats nothing new!

Getting ready for bed last night went to the loo and wiped, saw some brown much like the very end of a period. Have had a few af type cramps over the weekend but didn't take much notice, now I'm worrying about the scan today more then normal. Seems to have gone this morning but I'm on major knicker checking duty now!

We saw the heartbeat two weeks ago, just hope the little on is still doing ok.

I'm sure I never worried this much with my DD's pg, much harder this time round it seems.

Good luck to all ladies who are scanning this week, x

becksworth · 05/05/2009 11:43

MIAP - I've also had brown spotting and cramping over the last few days. Nothing today though, and I'm still feeling nauseous with sore boobs (a good sign I suppose?). For you, I've heard that once you've seen the heartbeat, the chances of miscarriage are substantially reduced. Good luck with the scan today.

I've been researching spotting in early pregnancy (paranoid, me?) and it seems there are no definitive answers. Sometimes, it's nothing to worry about and sometimes it is a sign that you'll miscarry or there's some other explanation. Helpful, no?

retrodolly · 05/05/2009 11:49

Cazzybabs oh no - you too! Scary isnt it? Hoping this time round I'll be spared too. Made me feel really ill.

Re the jar food - tell me about it [rolls eyes] - DD loves Hipp's range. I feel so guilty buying those. But when I offer her my lovingly prepared mashed food and she (sometimes) rejects it then its back to jars again...

retrodolly · 05/05/2009 11:52

ooh all of you who've had your first scans - congrats - how lovely to be able to see/hear your LO.

Please can someone tell me:
How do I go about getting a private scan? Also how much is it? DH is against it but my parents will happily pay.

LaDiDaDi · 05/05/2009 12:47

I'm terrified this time round too. Last night after sex when wiping I saw a litlle fresh red blood and was really worried until I realised that it was probably from when I'd shaved my bikini area in the shower.

Very diificult to keep my anxiety in check when part of the time my mind is racing away with baby plans.

Just removed us from the list, had scan today but no heartbeart. Baby died at 8 weeks Guess brown spotting last night was just the beginning, booked in for procedure tomorrow. Good luck everyone, sincerely hope you all go onto have healthy babies this year

SarahL2 · 05/05/2009 17:13

So sorry to hear that MIAP Hope the procedure tomorrow isn't too harrowing.

LaDiDaDi · 05/05/2009 17:16

Oh no, MIAP.

So very sorry . How awful for you.

alexpolismum · 05/05/2009 18:07

Fingers crossed for you Sarah! I hope all goes well from now on.

So sorry to hear about MIAP . I hope you can join another antenatal thread before too long, though.

I'm feeling a bit fluttery today, which is way too early in camparison with my first two pregnancies. Also, I have a strange ache underneath my right breast. Has anyone else had anything like that? I'm not sure what it's down to.

Didov - I'm surprised you can't get turnips - they're very much available here in Evros. They call them rapanaki aspro if that helps. I remember that in Athens I couldn't get chives, either, but here you can, so perhaps it's just your area - maybe people in Evia don't eat turnips! You could try asking for it in Greek and see if anyone can point you in the right direction.

Claire236 · 05/05/2009 18:14

Sorry MIAP, hope you're coping ok.

On the subject of cravings my thing is currently cheese & onion crisps which I usually can't stand.

Is anyone else really big already? With ds my waist vanished then I gradually acquired a bump but this time round I've got a proper bump & I'm only 9 weeks gone.

Baisey · 05/05/2009 18:53

Sorry to hear that MIAP.

Baisey · 05/05/2009 18:57

Ive just sent my DH to go do the weekly shop (he is rather well trained lately) His face when I showed him the list, heres an example of said list...
Pretzels
Onion rings
Salt and Vinegar pringles
Ritz Crackers
Pickled onion monster munch.
Now... I dont see what is wrong with that list, fairly well balanced eating in my opinion.

BestLaidPlans · 05/05/2009 19:23

So sorry MIAP, take care of yourself.

DiDov · 05/05/2009 19:27

So sorry MIAP

Pinkjenny · 06/05/2009 09:30

Sorry to hear your sad news MIAP

loobyboo · 06/05/2009 13:59

So sorry to hear your sad news MIAP.

9 wks+3
Trying to keep my spirts up after having discharge 1st greeny looking like what comes out of your nose not much(bank holiday monday), then yesterday evening had some more discharge yellowy with a pinky, browny tinge not blood looking, again not very much.

Went to docs wasn't overly concern about it, said about having a swab as could be an infection, i got upset like you do, so has arranged to have a early scan going tommorrow, am scared stiff about the outcome.

going to keep my fingers crossed.

SarahL2 · 06/05/2009 14:35

Good luck with the scan loobyloo

Am feeling very sick today which am I trying to see as a good thing cause obviously, if I have morning sickness, i'm not currently miscarrying - but there is also a niggling dread in the back of my mind that morning sickness went on for 5 months when I was pregnant with DS and my sister-in-laws are always more than happy to tell me how thier sickness got progressively worse with each child.

I'm going to be puking till October at least!!!

I hope

Baisey · 06/05/2009 20:30

I actually went into a panic this morning because I woke up NOT feeling sick...
But "thankfully" I was back to my sicky self when I arrived at work and my boss had made a cup of tea...

alexpolismum · 06/05/2009 20:33

Oooh, it comes to something when you worry because you're NOT feeling sick!

I've still got an ache under the breast, but the doctor says it's nothing to worry about.

I'm not sure if we'll be able to keep it a secret when all my relatives come, as dh has been pointing to my tummy and saying "baby" to our 2-year-old - he's sure to blurt it out!

Pinkjenny · 07/05/2009 09:40

I still don't feel particularly pg, although I feel a tiny bit sick when I am hungry, it's certainly nothing (yet) compared to last time. I do however, have heartburn, bleeding gums, tummy pains and dizziness.

Fun!

SarahL2 · 07/05/2009 12:21

I'm not sure we'll be able to keep it secret for much longer now. I'm supposed to be running the Race for life at the end of the month and after previous miscarriage, I dropped all training when I found out I was pregnant. It's only 5k but I'd rather not risk it.

My family were coming to watch cause my brothers a big runner and wanted to support me so I'm going to have to tell them in advance that I won't be running. Thought I might tell them when we're all together at a wedding next weekend - I'll be 8 weeks by then.

Got Doctors appointment this afternoon to get booked in...

Baisey · 07/05/2009 13:13

ahhh heartburn.
Yesterday at work I had a sharp pain of indigestion whilst serving a customer, I rubbed my chest and went "ow"
She asked me what was wrong and I just said "ohhh im 10 weeks pregnant and I think im having a symptoms day today because I have indigestion"
She then said "ohhh it cant be that, you're only 10 weeks the baby wouldnt even have hair yet, you only get indigestion if you are having a hairy baby"
My face was ---->
I did wonder out loud about when I was pregnant with DS and had very bad indigestion and he was born bald.
But if this hairy baby/indigestion thing is the case I feel very sorry for chimpanzees.

LittleMonkeysMummy · 07/05/2009 13:30

LOL Baisey!! I had horrendous heart burn with DD and was expecting a mop of hair (completely bald )

Have the doc's this afternoon as I have been feeling so ill lately - that and the fact I can't wait unitl the 22nd to see the midwife.

Hope the heartburn gets better Baisey!
